Hey, I've seen lots of these topics but none that are due in February anyone else out there?

I'm due 8th February 👶🍼 it's our first baby and we are both super excited!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NolaBear · 25/10/2019 10:29

So I had the whooping cough and flu vaccines yesterday! Both my arms are killing me which meant sleeping on my side was a mega struggle last night. Is anyone else getting the vaccines?
I also find out my gestation diabetes test results today...if the phone rings that means I have it. Not even really sure what it means yet if I do have it though!
The back pains are starting too...
That sounds like a lot of moaning so something positive...I LOVE feeling her move, it makes it ALL so worth it and I wouldn’t change any of the pain/symptoms as long as it meant she was ok! I think if you haven’t felt your baby move at this stage I wouldn’t worry too much...the midwives tend to say, “it’s whatever is ‘normal’ for you” x

catlady3 · 25/10/2019 10:33

Hi all, first baby here, due Feb 26th. Can't bloody wait!!!

sulkysukey · 25/10/2019 10:37

@NolaBear did they ask you to come in for your vaccines? I'm planning on getting them both but haven't heard anything and my next midwife appt isn't till nearly Dec... did you arrange them yourself?

sulkysukey · 25/10/2019 10:39

PS Nola fingers crossed 🤞 your GD results are ok, but even if positive at least they'll be able to look after you and give you the right care x

NolaBear · 25/10/2019 10:42

@sulkysukey I got a letter about my whooping cough and I was supposed to arrange it through my GP. But while I was there yesterday (at the hospital) they offered me both. I think you organise it yourself through your GP. For the whooping cough vaccine you need to be between 20-38 weeks pregnant. So you have plenty of time x

@anniebeebax hey Smile nope I have no idea. Not had any sickness or symptoms really i have been really lucky so i cant even go off them. My friend is having a boy and she says she has known hes a boy since the beginning but I have no idea either way for me. Can imagine myself with either as i have nieces and nephews and love boys and girls for their own individual characters. I think that's why it's made it easy for us not to find out whereas everyone else I know says it would drive them mad not knowing. Are you feeling more towards a girl or boy ? Xx

anniebeebax · 25/10/2019 17:52

Hi @Soda123x - that's really nice you feel you'd be totally happy either way! I don't have much experience with babies or toddlers.... so I have no idea what to expect either way. I initially thought girl, now I'm really not sure! Ha ha.

theres a big thread for feb 2020 mums, probably on page 2 of pregnancy threads - theres lots of us :-)

brightbird · 26/10/2019 13:48

Got both the vaccinations in the last couple of weeks. Annoyingly they let me book them together and then when I went said they couldn't give it to me at the same time so had to go back again! Sounded like it was largely they were worried about people having paranoid worries about vaccinations which isn't me at all so a bit irritating.

The whooping cough one was achy but the flu one was painless to get and no side effects at all, not even arm ache :)

Yesterday evening baby was most active I've known them be - big movements for hours! I suppose it will only get more so!

NolaBear · 27/10/2019 18:32

Hey! Is anyone taking vitamins...if so...which ones? I didn’t take them during my first trimester because I had such bad morning sickness. I am almost 24 weeks and have just started taking them because midwives make me feel a bit guilty for not taking them. What’s everyone else doing? X

45andfine · 28/10/2019 09:30

@nolabear I take the ones we got in the bounty pack free. But only every 3 days or so, not daily, as I find the iron content contributes to constipation?! In previous pregnancies I've had low iron levels and this seems to help!

Is any one taking aspirin... I keep forgetting, will it help seven of I take it intermittently??

(5th baby, 5th C-section, geriatric, bonus baby mum (45) due 6th Feb, there IS a different thread for Feb due babies but I can't find it anymore!!😂)

LolaLollypop · 28/10/2019 10:09

@nolabear I took Pregnacare for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Then I swapped to Asda Pregnancy vitamins. Pretty sure they have all the same stuff in them but are just a third of the price of Pregnacare! They don't make me feel sick at all whereas Pregnacare did.

I'm now 24 weeks. I take one a day. The iron did make me constipated at first but I find your body does get used to it and regulates itself.

anniebeebax · 28/10/2019 10:15

I took folic for the first 12 weeks - specifically the seven seas 'trying for a baby' ones. I tried Pregnacare but they made me feel sick and I hated taking them! Now I'm just trying to eat a healthy diet. My pregnant colleague has gone back onto folic acid as she said it helps her headaches.

Saw movements on my stomach for the first time on Saturday- it was amazing. The baby was having a party all weekend!

ScottyTT · 28/10/2019 10:36

I did try and take Tesco pregnancy support vitamins during my first trimester but this was whilst I was experiencing morning sickness and they made me actually physically sick, so stopped taking them (just took folic acid). Started taking them again at 3 months when sickness had worn off. I find them really good and they don’t make me constipated which is a bonus! I’ve been making lots of stews too making sure I put lots of veggies and spinach in them just to make sure my baby and me are getting all the right nutrients. As I find working and carrying a baby very tiring! I also have an excuse to eat cake and sweet treats, which I’m unfortunately craving! Cake x

brightbird · 28/10/2019 17:07

Started with pregnacare. Made me constipated. Switched to cheapo folic acid and vit d. Stopped taking folic at 12 weeks. Took pregnacare ones once or twice when I'd had iron related craving. Otherwise think I eat pretty well so not too worried. My mum gave me some iodine ones which I take from time to time if I've not had sea things in a while (eg. fish or seaweed)

Pocketrocket2007 · 08/11/2019 20:17

I was taking pregnacare in first trimester but it was adding to the morning sickness. As soon as I stopped taking and swooped to seven seas my nausea lessened a lot.

KayJan · 15/11/2019 15:33

Due the 10th February and will give birth at Croydon Hospital, who else? That will be fun to meet other mums to be there

tinatsarina · 15/11/2019 20:57

I'm 26th Feb. Haven't got flu or whooping cough yet as my GP is a bus ride away and it's annoying to get to so haven't got round to it yet

anniebeebax · 25/11/2019 17:22

Baby movement.... does anyone else feel like theirs is doing the YMCA in there?!? I'm 28 weeks this Friday and bloody hell the movement is so consistent and strong! I can even feel the bits of body underneath my skin at points (yes.... like Alien!!!) which is so odd. It feels like it's trying to escape!
