Oh Bagpuss, you're so right love - I just seem to have this total block. However, YOU have now told me to go and do it so I'm off to retrieve that packet of breast pads on top of the bathroom cabinet, get a bag out to put all the stuff in and ACTUALLY DO IT !!!

Oh, before I do ACTUALLY DO IT what suggestions do people have for clothes to take in with me to wear afterwards....?

(procrastination reigns in the TT household today it seems)

babylovesmuffins and Augustbride you put your name on the list but you havent emailed me yet, if you still want to do it just drop me a line!

Bagpuss - DH has no plans to go away, but work trips often come up at the last minute. He will try to avoid travel, but you never know...
TT - sorry we shelled your peanut too early!

BabyMadandBIGbump · 25/07/2007 16:15

GillL my gran has my 2 DS every sat in the day from 1pm-6/7pm, has done since day one, bless! She really is a big part of my boys lives, which she really loves, bless!

growingbagpuss what's ASD?

bananabump don't be jealous, I hate it, more due to the fact with DS#1 I had a show and 30 hours later he was in my arms but this "bit and bob" show lasting weeks driving me mad thinking "is this it" all the time but today I've felt really odd, abit of back pain and my bump keeps going solid and when that happened I get a flush feeling in my face till it goes, really odd, oh well I'll grab DH when he gets back from work should move things along if that's where these odd feeling are going. LO is still so very active still getting them odd popping sounds, have you seen the "Hyperactive Bump" tread? LOL, think we have over active babies by the sounds of it, it'll be interesting to see when they pop out weather they are still that active!

Back soon!

katybird · 25/07/2007 16:16

Afternoon everyone, hope I've got round to posting before you all log off for the day! Thanks for the info on the Dispatches prog bananabump, I get the feeling most maternity wards in London hospitals are understaffed so that could happen anywhere, although a midwife ratio of 1:9 is .

Met our first NCT baby this morning! So adorable, he slept through the whole thing, and his mum seems to be coping really well. I think the main reason for coming along was so they could get all the nappy and batheing info! DP had to bath the doll this morn, v proud of him.

Sorry people aren't sleeping/feeling well, hope you're all better tomorrow and it's not a case of feeling crap until the baby comes. Lovelybird, the iron should help with tiredness. I borrowed a hypnobirthing CD from a friend last week and dozed off listening to it, had a good night's sleep after, so that might help too!

Kiteflying is on holiday I think, she was taking two weeks off work so she pobably hasn't been logging on. Unless she popped while she was away...

SweetyDarling, so pleased that your bump has flipped head down! We'll find out tomorrow if ours has done the same, fingers crossed. Lol at the old lady.

Loler, how come your DH has just found out about his trips? I'd be furious if DP disappeared off.

TT - welcome back! Very of your Eccles cakes. I've packed a pair of maternity tracky bottoms and a maternity t-shirt thing for coming home afterwards, figured I'd rather be comfy than glam at that point!

Pengy, congrats on starting mat leave!

bananabump · 25/07/2007 16:17

PinkRanger: thank you for sorting out the text buddy thing, you're a star! Gill, I'm your text buddy, I promise my texts aren't as wordy as my posts!

Ooh TT I was convinced you'd popped. You sound like another one who's having last minute wobblings for one reason or another, it IS a lot to get your head around! Just chuck all the hospital bag stuff on the bed, and start thinking of the order in which you may need things, and making things easy for your hubby to find, as it may be that he will be doing most of the digging around in there for you!

What I've done is put my nighties/PJ's in a clear plastic bag, then put my going home outfit in another, my toiletries and towels in an opaque plastic bag etc so it isn't all jumbled inside the main bag. All assorted bits and pieces (change/post-it notes and pen, camera etc) in an outer pocket. Don't forget to take a few spare plastic bags for sending dh home with laundry, and to take presents home in.

Then you can put your bag to one side with a list of any last minute items such as your toothbrush/hairbrush/makeup etc and a list of people to phone or things hubby mustn't forget like the carseat (I'll strangle him if he forgets my lovely dressing gown) on top and forget about it! It'll be a weight off your mind.

katybird · 25/07/2007 16:18

Ooh, BabyMad, how exciting! Wonder if you're on your way?

tokentotty · 25/07/2007 16:18

If only little peanut had been shelled....one of us surely has to go soon !!!!
Thanks for the e-mail Pink, will pop the number in my phone now. Oh wait, no. I have to put it in DH's phone don't I !! Sorry, feeling less hormonal but just as stupid....
Figured as much about the still being in maternity clothes as was definitely not expecting a miracle! Just wondered if there were any tips available as I was thinking that my jeans etc might feel pretty uncomfortable 'down below' after everything that had gone one...

BabyMadandBIGbump · 25/07/2007 16:19

Good luck with your texting thing, My DH said he'll post when labour starts or I will, I'm having a "Home Birth" and internet is never off, so should be able to keep you upto date, and DH and I have both been MNers (or should that be dad'NER)for about 5 yrs now so DH knows what to do, bless, his nickname is "A5tonmartin"!

growingbagpuss · 25/07/2007 16:35

BabyMad - it clearly isn't you then!!!!ASD - Autisitc spectrum disorder....
Forgive me - does anyone else remember... someone had on their profile that they had 2 boys with ASD -I was sure it was an August babe... but maybe I am a total lunatic and remembering it from a dream or something?

TT - go with the baggy clothes -someone suggested to me that skirts are good, as then you don't feel everyone is noticing that huge maternity sanitary towel you have.... - everyone will be looking at the baby, but it doesn;t stop your mind playing tricks!! I'll be packing my denim maternity skirt (just in case) - flip flops is a good suggestion - last time i only had slipper sox, and had to pad out to the car park in early jan in those!!

tokentotty · 25/07/2007 16:44

bit like that dream about Mr Bagpuss being up for a bit of the other when in reality he was fast asleep and snoring....!!! heheheehhe
As for the skirts thing, that was kinda what I was wondering whether they'd be the best option, but then it struck me that I might feel a bit 'exposed'. Oh sod it, who cares, it's only to get to the bloomin' car park and then from the car to my house ! Trackie pants and a couple of those tops from H&M I bought when we were at bluewater.
Right, off to try this bag packing business again.

im hoping to stay at home so will be going everywhere in my PJS!

I have constant belly ache today and my " ladybits" feel like they are about to burst, has anyone else had this yet!
someone mention going a poo ealier { sorry if tmi) but i normally go once a day but for the last 3 days i have been at least 3 times? is this anthore sign?

On a more pleasnt note went to town today and "popped' popped in to next to ordered sons school trousers and came out £30.00 lighter, got loads of longs sleeved tops, jumpers and a nice chunky cardigan all 3-6 months! get sown there if you can!

tokentotty · 25/07/2007 17:03

Hahhaha have got my lovely pj's out - tempted to just wear them home anyway and put it down to postnatal eccentricity.

Erm.....about the poo thingy....I'm a lot more 'frequent' too. Can anyone clarify if this is a good sign ??

BabyMadandBIGbump · 25/07/2007 17:04

Pink my "lady bits" feel like there going to "fall out" IYSWIM is it like that for you!

katybird · 25/07/2007 17:05

That's a great idea putting everything into different bags banana, will do that tonight.

I don't know about going more often Pink, but it's common to get diarrhoea 24 hours before labour starts, clears your bowel out so there's more room for baby to descend and fewer embarrassing accidents.

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 25/07/2007 17:05

Look at us, dying to "see" a sign! we will all be racing each other there at this rate!

Pengy · 25/07/2007 17:05

Phew, no more work! Don't think I'll miss it for awhile... Glad I'm not the only one feeling mis although I hope we're all feeling better tomorow! Thanks for the hugs banana!

Such great news Sweety your LO has turned. A woman in my antenatal class had her LO turn after acupuncture at 37 weeks so very happy too. Sounds like things might not be far off for you banana and babymad!

TT I'm enlisting DH to be the better brain tonight to help pack my bag. Just haven't had the energy or desire to focus on it. Need to figure out what essentials I still lack so can get them after meeting a friend for lunch on Friday and then can stop worrying knowing its done. Did buy a couple of packs of newborn sleepsuits on my way home today. From last scan they're predicting LO will be slightly smaller than average and I was a bit worried about 0-3 month things swamping her! Again DH has a male approach and thinks this is completely unnecessary and extravagant (they were from Tescos)!! Men!!

At antenatal classes diarrhoea was said to be an early sign! Go girls!! Could be a few days prior though, natures way of having a clear out in preparation...

katybird · 25/07/2007 17:06

I guess there's less room in your bowel once the baby engages, so maybe that's why you're going more often?

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 25/07/2007 17:07

yes babymad, they feel so big it like i want to take them off!!! if they carry on there be clea ning my floor for me -

Lots of BH st the moment, which is really strange as i never had ANY with ds!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 25/07/2007 17:10

think ive killed the thread of talk of my " lady Garden" !!!!

itchyncsratchy · 25/07/2007 17:17

hi again,

it's getting busy around here!

TT- yes I was told to go immediately by ambulance and phone hospital to warn them if waters break

Hersetta- I'm not sure I'm up for the ECV either, my friend had emergency c-section last week after having ECV but lo turned breech again during labour. It was all a bit of a panic for her and I hate the idea of an emergency section following labour. I'm waiting on Friday's consultant appt

Bananabump - you are so organised, I'm going to attempt to follow in your footsteps, although might be sainsburys and JL bags in my case!

In fact hat kind of bags are you using? I only have a rucksack not sure if I should buy something bigger... and still not found a good nightie..

BabyMadandBIGbump · 25/07/2007 17:18

My MW said 89% of ladies have a bowel moment when pushing, now i'm bricking it, my words could of been better there!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 25/07/2007 17:20

lol bmwb!

I did get my husband to " check" when having ds to make sure i hadnt!

SweetyDarling · 25/07/2007 17:22

I'm going to pack a very comfy going home outfit as well as my lovely Diane V-F wrap dress in case I feel up to glaming it a bit for the photos ! Hey you never know!!
Lady bits are all in original condition here Pinky, but I'm only 35 weeks, so I guess that's something to look forward to .
