Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

oh Gill porr you, i had a childrens party yesterday that killed me, we are going to have a made week trying to get babes room done then its some serious R&R for dh and me before baby comes!

outside marks sounds great, how about 10.30, then i can put DS in creche for 2 hours until 12.15!!!! 2 hours of peace!!!

Annie75 · 16/07/2007 12:24

Morning all. Nice to catch up on all your funny postings, but sorry you had to spend a day in hospital, Mrs S and that you had a hellish shop, Gill. Who needs family, sometimes, eh?

Baby is still breech after this morning's scan. Am 37 weeks this week. Am really disappointed as it means no home birth for me. I shall tell the baby off v sternly. Gotta have an ECV in two weeks' time. I chickened out of having it earlier and now wondering if maybe I should rearrange to have it this week - anyone have any experience of them? Ceolas - good luck with your breech.

conkertree · 16/07/2007 12:39

purplerabbit is good at having stern words with los. she has already had words with her own about it being transverse, and when mine was sticking its bottom out on sat night and stretching the skin very painfully, she had stern words and it calmed down a bit.

GillL · 16/07/2007 12:40

R&R sounds great pink. I'm currently at home on my own trying to clean up the office (well, back bedroom that we use to house the computers, books etc). It's such a mess and I've been trying to get dh to sort it out for months. It's taken him 3 years to finish tiling the bathroom so I had no chance really! Hopefully it will be fairly quiet in BW. I don't think schools pack up til the end of the week.

Sorry to hear about not getting your home birth Annie. Can you still have it at home if it turns in time? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Hersetta · 16/07/2007 12:49

Annie,

i think the idea of having them late is not to give the baby the opportunity to turn around into the breech position again. The stats say that of those babies successfully turned, 10% turn themselves back breech.

I was talking to my aunt last week and her son was breech and was turned by ECV but on the way home from the appointment she felt him turn back again. Another ECV again turned him but that was enough to kick start her labour and she startyed to have contractions that night - so another reason to have it as late as possible.

I still am undecided whether to have an ECV if my little one doesn't turn herself. An edging towards not at the moment but I still have a few weeks to decide.

Annie75 · 16/07/2007 12:56

Thanks, Hersetta - and for the other fingers crossed! Okay, so I guess that's a good reason to stick to original date and wait a bit. Darnit - almost ironic that I've spent my whole pregnancy planning a completely natural, active birth and now heading towards increased intervention. Guess it goes to show babies won't be planned for!

Better go on a hospital tour soon just so it doesn't feel like a complete surprise...

Hersetta · 16/07/2007 13:00

Annie,

had my tour on saturday so now know where to go at least - hadn't a scooby before hand!

Mrsshuvel · 16/07/2007 13:06

Got my fingers crossed for you too.

10.30 at Marks sounds good to me. I get off the shuttle bus at Marks so will only have to walk through.

Meant to say earlier. I bought a tummy tub. I think someone was asking about them.

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 16/07/2007 13:32

Sahll we make a firm commitment for 10.30 outside Marks & sparks, downstairs!! all thoses in favour say "waddle"

I will try and post picture of self -

OMG what are we going to say " Hi, are you Mrs Shuvel" im Pinkranger Im a little scared!!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 16/07/2007 13:42

ok - cant add a photo for some stupid reason, i am about 5.6 with a "round " face, with dark brown hair, will be wearing a Red carnation

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 16/07/2007 13:42
  • Light blue jeans accompanied by a big Waddle!
Mrsshuvel · 16/07/2007 13:43

"Waddle Waddle Waddle"

Is that outside Marks downstairs inside or outside, if you understand what i mean

Hahaha i think it'll be funny - a load of preggers women who've never met before. We probably know more about each other than most people who've known each other years.

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 16/07/2007 13:47

should be fun!

Shall we say inside as it should be quiet that time of day! i have to go in anyway to drop Ds at creche

GillL · 16/07/2007 13:49

Waddle!

Let's meet inside. I'll be wearing a skirt with a white top and sporting a large bump of course

I was thinking that pink but you all know my name already.

Mrsshuvel · 16/07/2007 13:55

Inside's fine. Not sure what i'll be wearing. I'll see what still fits tonight and let you all know tomorrow. I'm sure the bump and loitering about outside Marks will give me away though.

itchyncsratchy · 16/07/2007 14:06

thanks for link mrsbadger, i hadn't looked at next before, lots of nice things for babies though most small sizes sold out in summer collection

I think it's brilliant you're having a meet up. We'll all be there in spirit, I'd be a slow moving shortie in none weather appropriate clothing with a ginormous bump whining that i need to sit down every 10 mins!

Gill- very sorry for your terrible sister, I have one threatening to come and stay with me but I know it'd push me over the edge

MrsS- I've ordered a tummytub from JL, I guess we'll either love them or hate them. Wish I could have found a pink glittery one, there are some on ebay but I still haven't courage to bud for anything.

I think my babes still breech/ transverse too. Would anyone still try for regular delivery of breech?

itchyncsratchy · 16/07/2007 14:07

please take a group photo!

GillL · 16/07/2007 14:39

I'll try to remember the camera itchy. I think we'll probably all be needing to sit down every 10 minutes.

Off to pick up dd soon after a nice cool shower. The office is looking much tidier although there's still lots to do.

growingbagpuss and TT - are you happy with 10:30 at the entrance to M&S (inside the centre) on Wednesday?

growingbagpuss · 16/07/2007 14:55

10.30 sounds fine... no idea what I'll be wearing - I've got my favourite thing on right now, but its grubby which is a bit disappointing!..ahh we're meeting weds (durrrr) I might be able to wash it in time!!

I've not tried with a picture.. but I'll have a go tonight.

Be warned about hosp provdiing formula - when i was in after DS they were just changing their policy - they were no longer supplying formula to Mums who were CHOOSING to bottle feed. If a mum was struggling to b/F, or LO was small, weak etc -then yes, they'd supply formula.

Mrsshuvel · 16/07/2007 14:58

Just thought of something i haven't got in my case - a nursing bra (as you can see i'm totally concentrating on work today). I don't know what size to get. Had enough trouble getting support bras. Been warned that boobs will explode (not literally) too.

SweetyDarling · 16/07/2007 15:18

My bub is still breach as well, MrsS, and I don't think I'll be trying for a vaginal delivery unless that changes. Then again I'm no earth-mother and would actually be quite happy with a C-section, so I may not be the right person to ask! My birth-plan is nothing like any of the others below - has EPIDURAL written right across the top! When I first met my consutant I told him I wanted an epidural at about 38 weeks - I don't think he's under any illusions about my expectations!

SweetyDarling · 16/07/2007 15:19

Sorry - that was Itchy I was replying to!

growingbagpuss · 16/07/2007 16:26

MrsS - bras are on m y list too - although I still have my ones from last time, when my boobs were at their biggest they were too small!! I might just take a risk a buy a couple of M&S softy bras in the next cup size up. I'm not sure I can face a shop assistant staring at my voluminous bust and expanding stomach

J Lewis are good for fitting - but don't seem to have a lot of plain, pure cotton bras. Don't be under any illusions about sexy lacy feeding bras -ok once everything has settled donw - but to start with you want comfort and simplicity.

I found a picture on the digital camera of me sitting in the garden the other day - I'm wearing an orange t shirt, and I look like a bloody great piece of fruit - I didn't realise how big i look....!!

On another cheery note..... when my m/w friend came to check the LO's heartbeat, she looked in horror at my stretchmarks...as she managed not to get ANY !! She got a smack round the thigh for being so cheeky... AND she put the knockers on me having a small baby, by telling me this one wouldn't be as big as DS.... well thats cursed that one then......

SweetyDarling · 16/07/2007 16:32

How big was your DS Bagpuss?

growingbagpuss · 16/07/2007 16:33

9lb 4oz.... my M/W then also cursed things by telling me I was having a tall slim baby.... she also told me i wouldn't go to term..... so DS was born at 41 weeks.... ha bloody ha
