Hello! I'm back!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BefnalBunny · 04/04/2007 11:46

soh - i haven't had any pains yet - not even a braxton hick so can't help! sorry .

..well maybe a few well aimed kicks that hurt

deasterjags · 04/04/2007 11:53

Lucky you madeindevon.

Am due the day after you and Madam hasn't turned yet

largeginandtonic · 04/04/2007 11:54

Morning all

SOH are you with somebody today? You sound like niggly early labour to me........The baby engaged can make you feel achy down below. I think you should sit down.

Im soooo tired today, i feel like a deflated ballon. Was all energetic yesterday and now am sloth like. Baby must be having a growth spurt.

The poor children are off to stay with their father today till Monday. They are all excited and buzzy though. I hate the fact they dont know what is going on and blindly think the presents thrown at them are all genuine not just his guilt and cover up for his pathetic behaviour. Im sure one day they will know.

Wish i was one of those psycho mothers who blurt out everything to the kids, not really of course, just REALLY feel like it sometimes

No word from Lupins yet, really hope she is ok. They might leave her longer if the monitoring shows up some info on the baby growing and happy in there. Feel sorry for her having the steroids....oooohhh they hurt.

Will txt her today but she may not be able to reply if the hospital is strict on phones.

cameroonmama · 04/04/2007 11:57

SOH, sometimes I get them if I need to go to the loo and if I am a bit dehydrated, if I go and drink some water it helps. Also my BH go crazy if I need to go to the loo..sorry if its TMI

ShowOfHands · 04/04/2007 12:02

I'm sure it's nothing. Am at work so sitting down cataloguing/buying/dusting books. Got 11 days off after today so will think about having a rest. It's just uncanny how much it feels like period pains and the waves of nausea are not helping. Mathilda's having a jolly old time though. Some fecker's gone against all my principles and bought her one of those bloomin' dance arcade things and installed it in my uterus while I was busy trying to tie my shoelaces.

Love the new name dejags. Must make more of an Easter effort.

LG&T, a good friend's exp is just like yours- nob jockey of the highest order and as his children get older they are starting to resent him. Even the 4yr old says 'he's not really my Daddy is he because he doesn't do the Daddy stuff that B* (friend's dh) does'. The eldest is very aware of what a fool he is now and let down by it but coping. Bunch of twonks.

ShowOfHands · 04/04/2007 12:05

I'm not dehydrated I'm sure. Probably just me being a wussy first-timer who can't even cope with a slightly engaged baby. Must adopt slightly more British staunch bravado.

Aah yes it's a jolly sensation but all's tickety boo down there.

AbbyLou · 04/04/2007 12:18

Hi all. SOH I've been having a few pains like yours too. They feel like the sort of period pains you get when you're due on. I don't think the head's engaged yet though as I haven't got that horrendous pressure yet. The baby seems to be still moving around so much, I thought it might have lsowed down a bit by now.

SOH - I keep getting those kinds of pains too - but usually when I've been overdoing it, which isn't very often...

My main problem at the moment is my tolerance level. I have absolutely no patience at all, a real issue when you have 5 weeks left in work. I roll my eyes every time my mobile rings, which I'm sure you'll agree is the height of professionalism.

Night sweats? Absolutely - sleeping with the window open.

I also cannot stop eating. Although my belly is 43 - inches, not sheets - which seems to compare with everyone else's. DH keeps on saying, I'm just worried you'll be all depressed about your weight when you've had her. Admittedly, that is probably going to be true.

Just wrestling with my conscience over the milky bar easter egg in the fridge. I've already had a packet of milky bar buttons and a vanilla slice today.

SKYTVADDICT · 04/04/2007 14:37

I had a few pains overnight SOH and (perhaps tmi) wet knickers this morning. I read the other day that wee smells but amniotic fluid doesn't. Problem is I don't have a sense of smell! I did think about asking DD1 to have a sniff but decided it was above and beyond the call of duty for a 10 year old!

Anyway all ok now so will wait and see. Perhaps will ask DP to have a sniff later. LOL. He really doesn't know what he has let himself in for!!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 04/04/2007 15:05

Afternoon all......

Thoughts for Lupins. Ohhhhh I hope your little man doesn't need to arrive just yet. xxx

Glad things seem a little brighter on here today, SOH, I'm soo glad dh has decided to stick it out, seems the best thing for your home birth and staying as a family etc... Glad you managed to talk about it and come to a conclusion.

Period pains, I'd have to agree with lg&t, sounds like a few niggles going around. The crotch zingers are bad enough but anything coming in waves I'd want to sit down and not move until they went away.

I have a presentation scan in the morning. Please be prepared to deal with a hormonal MrsJB if my miniapple hasn't turned, I will cry!

We have just done and had a lovely lunch with a retired couple that dh has done some gardening for. They arrived with large cheque, so I liked them immediately anyway. They are very nice and have asked dh to continue to maintain there garden for them long term. Yey, Work! They also bought chocolate for h & m for easter, how very thoughtful.

lg&t, how lovely that numpty has the dc's for a few days. I hope you have time to relax with N and enjoy the bank holiday weekend. Blimey, what are you going to do? 5 children down, no sex, rest a must, boring? Oh no you still have SOH's 21 dc's to deal with, they'll keep you on your toes.

Whilst we are on pregnancy talk today, cor strange for us don't you think? can I ask a TMI question. I have a massive amount of discharge at the moment, I don't remember it with h, with Maddie I suffererd badly with thrush but I'm sure it's not that. It is white, but not itchy and has No smell. Sometimes it feels like a gush like when you are on, and I have to go to the loo to check. Am I freak?

Pinkjenny · 04/04/2007 15:19

OK - I ate the easter egg. But I didn't eat the milky bar that came with it.

Am going out for dinner tonight. Will have salad.

aprilmeadow · 04/04/2007 15:47

Afternoon

Just had my hair cut, been into work this morning and am now waiting to be picked up to go shopping - such a busy life

Have packaged up stork present, kk's for lg&t and gingerbread bunnies for soh. Just hope that the post office is open - some of them shut on a wednesday pm just for fun!

Glad that spirits are raised today, maybe its coz the sun is out!

Will do a proper catch up later.

ttfn xx

Pebblemum · 04/04/2007 16:11

Afternoon all

MrsJB-ive had more discharge this time around too, not sure why but not worried because like you i know its not thrush or anything. Ive just put it down to being pregnant

SOH-ive had a few of those period type pains but they usually go after ive rested for a bit. Try to take it easy but keep an eye on them just in case

Hope Lupins is ok, send her big higs LG&T when you text her

Well i hope they have got it right and this LO is a girl because I bought the most gorgeous little dress today. It was in the sale and only cost £3 so I wont have wasted a lot of money if it does turn out they made a mistake with the sex but i would much rather be able to put bubs in it lol

For those with breech babies or experience of them, do you know if we get another scan to check the position nearer the birth. My sister did but that was 21years ago so it may have changed.

The LO is definately squashing my bladder today. I went to the toilet earlier and it was as if someone had pulled the plug, it all came out in a great big whoosh. My mum was in the next cubicle (we were shopping) and all I heard was her laughing. It was so embarassing. Ive never had anything like that happen before. I jokingly had to check down the loo that it wasnt the LO coming out, the way it all rushed out anything was possible

Oh and a miracle has finally happened in my house. Got home from shopping to find that DH had mown the lawn (shock horror)and i hadnt even nagged him about it today. He sued his own initiative and got up and did it. It is his birthday on Monday though so perhaps he was trying to butter me up

ShowOfHands · 04/04/2007 16:21

MrsJB- increased discharge normal. It's protecting your cervix! Don't know if that's from the baby or from something external though .

Going home half an hour early. The books will never know. Niggly pains still there but not so strong. Sure it's nothing!

largeginandtonic · 04/04/2007 16:29

NEWS FLASH

Text from Lupins.....

"I managed a whole 3 hours sleep - flippin steroids. Had another doppler scan this am, better than yesterday. CTG good and so is movement. Still concerened about growthand still having section thursday or friday. Waiting to see paed. Say hi to everyone hope your all ok. Have nearly read a whole novel so boring these places"

So she sounds ok, we can only wait and see what happens now. Will keep you posted.

SOH are you ok now?

Kids off in a minute, may just burst in to tears am emotional wreck anyway without this too. I know they will be ok, just need rational side of brain to kick in.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 04/04/2007 16:57

SOH, I don't like the sound of your "sure it's nothing"..........

Going home half an hour early....... ........ are you sure you're OK?

Thanks for the discharge info, I just don't recall it from previous pg'cys.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 04/04/2007 17:04

I like the News Flash bit lg&t. Thanks for that, I hope she does Ok.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 04/04/2007 17:08

lg&t, they WILL be fine you are right, try to enjoy a little break if you can. Don't be emotional...... You are SUPERMUM!

aprilmeadow · 04/04/2007 19:32

Post office was indeed shut. Will be going first thing in the morning so you should hopefully get your parcels on Saturday unless the royal mail decide to deliver on Good Friday.

Bump seems to have dropped a it in the last few days. Can almost get two hands (width ways) under boobs to on top of bump, if that makes any sense.

Lg&t enjoy your rest!
SOH, are you ok? You need to rest as well.
MrsJB, how are you? will try and catch you tonight. Good luck with scan tomorrow in case i dont catch you.

Just washing the last of the newborn baby clothes and then am going to sit down and write my list required for hospital bag otherwise i will either forget an important item or pack far too much!

scootermum · 04/04/2007 19:43

Hi all,

Have been at the other service today so couldnt get on-thats good news from Lupins eh?So far so good-but bit worried about you SOH..Get thee back home to the couch..

With re meet ups TYG and SOH-Can do Tuesday now, in fact better than Wednesday..just let me know when and where-though have to leave London no later than 4.30pm really to pick dd up..maybe meet for elevenses?

Im getting lots of discharge too Mrs JB-freaked me out a bit at first..That was sweet about the garden customers-has reminded me must get eggs for cm's kids-she has sent dd home with a load of things for Easter today..

Well done to your DH pebble..I like a bit of initiative in a man!

April-you sound so glam with your waxing and pedicures-you put me to shame..

I know what you mean re second pg's being way harder BB and ginger-this one has been no picnic compared to the comparitive heaven of the last one as with dd to run around after there is certainly no time to put feet up after work like I did the first time, or spend the whole of the weekend in bed either as I seem to remember doing once or twice last time..I just didnt realise what a comparitive piece of piss the first one was..

Have been such a numpty today could shoot myself.Went to the post office to post secret stork.Waited in a very long line.Got the the front.Had left purse in car.idiot! Will post tomorrow but it might now arrive after the deadline-so sorry to my person but it is on the way, promise!

Had to get homework file out at work for my manager to sign some witness testimonys off.Merrily got in car and drove the 1.5 hours home from that ruddy service.Got to 10 mins away from home.Realised had left file, which I need this weekend to do work, in office at said service.I am bloody livid with myself. Will now have to spend half my day off tomorrow driving back into London to pick it up -a 3 hour round trip and with dd who will no doubt hate every minute.Oh I hate myself sometimes..Plus am now worried will miss delivery of buggy-which I am very excited about..what will they do if Im not in largegandt, do you know?
I cant not get the ruddy file as I really need to work on it over the weekend, plus I dont trust the staff there to keep it safe for 5 days till am back at work..Grrrrr!

Have been on a scary thread re third degree tears-which I had with dd.Apparently lots of 3rd degree tearers have ceaserians at the next birth, partic if its relatively close to the first as mine will be..No one has ever even mentioned mine to me.Does anyone know anything else about this?Perhaps should ask the midwife-but she is a bit drippy to be honest and never seems to know the answer to anything..dont want to end up double incontinent or whatever can happen-the other thread has freaked me out, can you tell?

scootermum · 04/04/2007 19:46

I think you are a much better person than me largegandt-with the way you cope with your exp and encourage your kids to see him..They will love you all the more for it when they are older and realise what a top Mum you are..I know you will miss them this weekend though-hope dh taking you out somewhere nice but non strenuous to keep your mind off it?

aprilmeadow · 04/04/2007 19:52

Wouldnt say i was glam by any stretch of the imagination Scoot! I just like having 2 eyebrows and thought that i could treat myself to a pedicure (only ever had 3) as well as having hair cut. My friend is a mobile hairdresser so just comes to the house whenever she is required. its about 18 for a wet cut and 35 for colour. Beats toni and guy where it costs about 100 for the same! Eyebrows are the only things that get waxed. Am a complete woose as far as pain goes (so am surprised i managed birth without any drugs), dont know how people can have their legs waxed (had it done once and only once) let alone having 'down there' waxed! ouch no way jose!!!!!

BefnalBunny · 04/04/2007 20:00

just found this on other thread - quite fun! you have to disagree with the first explanation to get the real one...here

scootermum · 04/04/2007 20:08

I wish I had a friend who was a hairdresser..I used to-I made friends with her when she was my hairdresser at T and G, and she started doing my hair at home, but then she ran off to Dubai so that was the end of that..You are right though-they do charge a fortune in the salon..
I cant wax my legs either..but do my own bikini wax when I get time/get the nerve up-just because I hate someone else doing it as I get too embarassed-stupid I know- as if a beautician hasnt seen it all before..used to do it with the aid of a strong drink beforehand to numb sensation but cant do that this time..Paracetomol wont cut it I dont think!
