Huge congratulations on your lovely little ones @thepotatoesofdefiance and @wapsmahoney ! Wow, three thread babies already and it is only the first day of the month!

I had some low down period type pains today and got worried things were kicking off (not due until 28th and completely not ready for bubs to arrive yet) but it just turned out to be constipation again Blush

Very sorry to hear so many of you are suffering with nasty bugs and colds. Definitely not what you need at this time.

Regarding pregnancy insomnia, DH and I are sleeping in separate beds now as we kept waking each other up. We'll be doing it when baby arrives anyway due to night feeds, so figured starting a bit earlier wouldn't matter! It is definitely better.

Nessalina · 02/10/2017 05:20

Congratulations potatoes! SmileFlowers

I'm having trouble sleeping- definitely getting some mild contractions... today could be the day!

thepotatoesofdefiance · 02/10/2017 05:45

Thanks everyone and good luck Nessalina!

pollybythesea · 02/10/2017 06:32

Hey gimbleinthewabe I am definitely having this problem too - I've had great skin throughout pregnancy but this last week (now 38+1) I've had spots popping up on my face almost every day! Along with occasional period cramps and a slight "off" feeling & more tiredness like first trimester - I guess I feel like I do in the lead up to a period, I think labour lasts a lot longer than they say!!

mummabubs · 02/10/2017 06:43

Exciting @Nessalina! Fingers crossed for you! (Only mildly jealous as I think we're due date buddies!) 😊 Hope all progresses nicely and you soon have your little one.

Yup @GimbleInTheWabe, my skin's been surprisingly good for the last couple of months and then just my chin has got a bit bad in the last week or so.

Still woke up three or four times during the night last night but at least I could breathe through my nose again. Still no voice but I'm hoping this is the start of bug disappearing... fingers crossed! Then I'll be ready for a Bubbabean to arrive!

BumblingBee89 · 02/10/2017 07:48

The babies are coming thick and fast now! Congratulations, they are all delicious!

My skin has also changed in the last week or so, 38+1 today, and I've gone from literally having perfect glowy pregnant skin to a few spots around my chin which I'm gutted about! But kind of expected!

ButterflyGem · 02/10/2017 08:37

@BumblingBee89. Congratulations! He is beautiful 💙 Can't wait for my turn now, how exciting!

Has anyone else had bad hip pain during the night. I've been tossing & turning all night & my hips are killing this morning. 39+1 - suppose I've done well to only start suffering now xx

TheLegendOfBeans · 02/10/2017 08:41

Baby explosion! Congrats bumblingbee.

Ps: asilikeit i had the worst zits just after I had DD. Maybe it's a sign....?

mummabubs · 02/10/2017 08:43

Congratulations @BumblingBee89! He looks beautiful 😊 Hope you're at home recovering and getting to know him soon x

KitKatSplat · 02/10/2017 08:44

Congratulations BumblingBee89!

pollybythesea My period pains are driving me nuts. Last night I got up for a wee, and when I lay back down in bed it was like a heat bomb exploded in the small of my back and my stomach area. Managed to fall asleep and back to normal this morning. Had 2 weeks of this already, at random times and intensities. Going forward to ask the mw about it just to help me understand what's going on.

ButterflyGem TBH you have been very lucky to only experience this now! I've had it for about 3 months. My two big tips - putting a pillow between your legs when you lie down (try to get a decent size one so you have padding between your knees down to your ankles at least - helps with the alignment) and doing stretching or yoga on those stiff days. Getting my hips to move in unusual ways, be that hip or leg rotations, squats etc. really helps stop my hips from stiffening up. Doesn't have to be a big session. Just 5-10 minutes of stretching and moving can make a big difference.

TheLionQueen1 · 02/10/2017 09:05

@BumblingBee89 congratulations! Lovely name!

TippetyTapWriter · 02/10/2017 09:38

Congrats bumblingbee, he's lovely!

Good luck nessalina!

I use a pillow between my hips for the pain and also have to switch sides every hour or so. Almost glad when I have to get up to pee in the night so I can stretch them out a bit! Also get bad knee pain too. And luckily no spots here but I look absolutely dreadful. Seem to have aged ten years. Skin and hair both gone dull and dry and my eyes are bloodshot and constantly knackered looking. And baby isn't even here yet! Oh the joys... but it's October! So baby will definitely come this month, eek!

GimbleInTheWabe · 02/10/2017 09:53

Congrats @BumblingBee89! Sebastian is a lovely name and he is just so cute and squishy!

Glad im not the only one suffering with my skin. Let’s all just cross our fingers that it’s a labour sign hey?!

Am I the first to make it to my due date? I am officially 40 weeks today, I can almost not believe it! Getting a few more period type cramps and discharge today so really hoping he’s happy in there and searching for the light ha.

Sorry you’re feeling crappy @mummabubs, hopefully it’ll pass quickly.

Happy due date day gimble! Hope he doesn't keep you waiting too long x

mummabubs · 02/10/2017 10:30

Happy due date Gimble!! Thinking lots and lots of labour-y thoughts for you! I'm feeling better physically, just need my voice to come back and stop blowing my nose so much and I'll be grand. (I was actually wondering if it's possible to eject a baby through a nostril at one point this morning!!) I'm due on Saturday and fully anticipating going over but it would be oh so lovely if I didn't!

GimbleInTheWabe · 02/10/2017 12:07

Thanks everyone

@mummabubs glad that you feel better, nothing worse than a running nose though, I always end up with such a sore and red nose! careful not to whisper as that will dry your throat out even more, best thing to do is stay silent if possible.

My waters have gone this morning so at hospital now getting checked out xx

ButterflyGem · 02/10/2017 13:30

Ah it was my waters & they've checked me over. Sending me home to see if contractions start naturally if not I'll be induced tomorrow!! xx

Nessalina · 02/10/2017 15:20

Well it's been a sloooow day here. After contracting on and off all night, the middle of the morning it's all gone quiet.
However I just had my 'show' so that's a good sign that things are getting moving and the contractions I've had have done some good at least. This couldn't be more different from my first labour, it's very odd!
Last time I had my show at 5cm dilated whilst trying to give a urine sample in the maternity assessment unit - pretty challenging whilst having contractions every 2-3mins!

Nessalina · 02/10/2017 15:22

Exciting stuff Butterfly! And huge congratulations Bumblingbee, I just love the name Sebastian! Flowers

Enjoy your due date Gimble, sounds like you've got some positive signs going on!!

boxesoffrogs · 02/10/2017 16:56

Congrats potatoes and bumbling! And good luck butterfly! Wow it really is kicking off around here!

Only 37 + 1, so guess I'll just get comfortable (haha) and live vicariously through you guys until it's my turn...

boxesoffrogs · 02/10/2017 16:56

Oh and nessalina - good luck as well!!!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 02/10/2017 18:35

Losing track of who's posted what as sleeping so little my brain isn't working but congrats to the babies and those who sound like they are well on the way to meeting their babies! I'm so relieved that I'm still pregnant, less than 6 hours until I'm eligible for maternity allowance then she can do what she wants! Figure I'm probably safe now as even if labour started right now, chances are by the time I've sorted my sons out and then got to the hospital, the chances of a section before midnight would be slim...

GimbleInTheWabe · 02/10/2017 21:12

Hope you’re getting on okay @ButterflyGem and @Nessalina!

My due date has been uneventful, as I expected, but hey ho. Got lots of messages from friends and family which was quite nice actually.

Glad you’re going to make the mat leave pay @Loopyaboutmy2boys! I left my maternity allowance form really late (am self employed) so I think I’ll be back dating mine a bit as I don’t even think my acceptance for over a week or so.
