Seems so unfair about the mat pay date. If it's any reassurance loopy I was also 2/5ths at last midwife appointment over a week ago and baby doesn't seem to be in any rush to arrive.

Lovely name waps, would also be interested in hearing birth story. Hope you're enjoying getting to know each other. Such a surreal and amazing time!

Good luck cineraria. Fingers crossed things really are progressing now. Great news you can maybe use mlu.

KitKatSplat · 30/09/2017 19:51

Evening all. How's it going? Husband has a bad cold so been trying to steer clear of him all day, which means my usual lying on the sofa has been out of reach :(

I've also had period-like pains for the last seven or so hours. Tried going to the gym, hot water bottle, bath, curry - still there. Not getting my hopes up as had this before. Figured it's just the baby getting bigger. 37+0. These next few weeks are going to draaaaaaag :)

greentreeseverywhere · 30/09/2017 20:04

I have asked to go home. they 're assed and nothing has changed no contractions this arvo so are allowing me home to relax and hope it starts on it's own. but back tomow afternoon to ensure my blood pressure is still ok! I bet I walk in the door and my waters will go.
i have been packing and 're packing putting stuff in draws and out again. iv also watched a whole series on sky and read a book iv been trying to finish. we went for a walk earlier and went different corridors each time and found bits of the hospital we had never seen before!!!
hope you have some good news *cineraria

TheLegendOfBeans · 30/09/2017 20:17

My gastric bug is back with a fecking vengeance this evening.

I'm happy that baby is windmilling about but my god I've never had a tummy bug so bad. I was fine from 10am and then just around 7pm I felt ghastly and now I'm facing down another night of hideous nausea. Such was the effort of puking and puking past night I'm physically in pain from the waist up and am scared another run of it may disrupt my previous CS scar; I have to go in if I feel it "glowing".

Fuck this.

And good on yer for going home @greentrees and am rooting for you @cineraria

Ps: I forgot to say earlier to @loopyaboutmytwoboys I'm thunderstruck at all you've been through and can only be awestruck at your commitment and perseverance.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 01/10/2017 08:42

Nessalina my actual due date is the 21st but neither of DS births went to plan is the short version and so they are doing CS earlier this time to hopefully make it better, plus with being on fragmin and aspirin it's less risky if they control when it happens so I can briefly stop the drugs. But guess my body is gearing up to do its own thing, but so far so good, i'm just hoping she hangs on until Tuesday!

I'm another one who can't sleep when pregnant. For me the insomnia starts before I have even got the BFP. It's got worse since she dropped down as now when I wake i need a wee which means it's even harder to get back to sleep, had 3 wee's last night, also doesn't help when DH ends up on his back snoring grrr!

Hope the inductions are soon over, I hate being in hospital, you must both be exhausted!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 01/10/2017 08:50

PS thelegendofbeans thanks, I think being stubborn is a better description lol, I guess I just refused to give up, else all the losses would have been for nothing, so just kept trying and having more tests and finally ended up at Epsom with Mr Shehata, first try on steroids for high natural killer cells and it worked, now 37+1 which still feels rather unreal. Just wish my Dad was still here, life was cruel to take him away in June, although at least he knew that he was going to have a new granddaughter because we had the panorama tests at 9 weeks. Will never know why my body was capable of having 2 babies without any conception issues at all and then why it basically broke and got the high killer cells, but just so glad I found out before I gave up.

GimbleInTheWabe · 01/10/2017 10:27

@Loopyaboutmy2boys you’re obviously a very strong person, what a lot to have been through. And youre so right, it’s all worthwhile when you have your little baby in your arms.

I had a rotten night last night, I’ve been feeling nauseous at bedtime the last week or so but was able to sleep it off. Not last night! Felt totally grim and then threw up epically. Is this normal?! Feel fine today luckily and just had tea and toast which has stayed put.

Sending cups of tea and positive vibes to everyone with colds (or coldy partners!) Brew

Gimble when it comes to labour I don't think there is necessarily a normal, but I know when I was in labour with ds1 which was meant to be a home birth, the midwife came to see me and told me about 10pm that I wasn't in active labour (waters had broken at 5pm and contractions had started roughly an hour later) and just as she said this I ran past her and only just made it to the toilet in time to be sick. She was telling me it was important to eat and drink for energy and to stay hydrated but my stomach was having none of it! So maybe things are about to happen for you?

GimbleInTheWabe · 01/10/2017 10:54

I was kind of thinking that it might be the start of something Loopy but then I feel totally normal today, although lots of people have posted saying their labour started from nowhere so who knows! Tomorrow is my due date (Shock) so maybe I’ll be in the 5% who have their baby on the day wishful thinking.

Gimble I'm also due tomorrow! dS1 was born on his due date at 7am sharp. Went in to labour the evening before with no warning.

I think really hope I'm not jinxing it that things are finally kicking off here. Painful contractions every 3-5 minutes for the last 45 minutes, feel like they are getting stronger, fingers crossed these ones don't disappear on me!

TheLegendOfBeans · 01/10/2017 12:28

I feel so utterly different end of this pregnancy than my last.

Whilst I know I have an evil belly bug I'm just putting it out there now that with all the stupid song and dance I'm going through to try and nail a CS date that I think I'm going to go into spontaneous labour in advance of the planned date.

DH thinks the same. Dunno why, just a feeling x

GimbleInTheWabe · 01/10/2017 12:40

@thepotatoesofdefiance yikes!! Fingers crossed! Totally not jealous at all, who me?! Best of luck to you and keep us all informed if you can.

thepotatoesofdefiance · 01/10/2017 18:15

Thanks, my third boy has arrived! Born just after 4 this afternoon at home. All well, fast and painful but all in all I think I have been extremely lucky!

GimbleInTheWabe · 01/10/2017 18:17

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 01/10/2017 20:03

Congrats potatoes, wonder who will be next? sounds like lots are due imminently!

mummabubs · 01/10/2017 20:04

Congratulations @thepotatoesofdefiance!! Impressive!

My hopeful pre-labour cold is just actual bug/virus, I've got no voice and feel like death so on the plus it's making me actually feel ok about not going into labour now as I'd like to be able to breathe when things do kick off!! 🙈

GimbleInTheWabe · 01/10/2017 22:33

Has anyone else noticed a change in their skin in the last few weeks? I got awful skin in my first trimester, really spotty all over my face which was unusual for me. Then it totally cleared up and hadn’t really broken out at all since. Now I’ve got the opposite problem and the skin around my chin/mouth is sooo dry and red which I’ve def never had before as my skin is combo/oily. I know that the chin is supposed to be where your hormonal breakouts show so I wonder if it’s linked?

OP posts:
SophieGiroux · 01/10/2017 23:10

@GimbleInTheWabe I haven't really noticed worse spots than usual although did have a surprise whitehead on my chin the other day! I have noticed my skin is very pink though so look awful without make up and also think I have that "mask of pregnancy" thing going on with lots of pigment.
Not a good look on the school run when I don't have time to put my face on first!
