Ah congratulations doom she is beautiful!

Well looks like things might be kicking off for me too ... been having contractions every 9 minutes for about the last 4 hours ... not getting any closer together, just more painful ... but that might be as I'm trying to sleep through them!
Have just given up and decided to get up for a while and see what happens ... DH is going to be annoyed when he wakes up ... he's meant to be playing golf!! Oops!

JustSaying99 · 23/09/2017 05:32

Good luck waps hope things progress OK for you! 😊

Cineraria · 23/09/2017 06:12

Congratulations! What a lovely photo of your family. I hope you are both well and that you're recovering nicely.

Cineraria · 23/09/2017 06:13

Good luck to you too Waps!

mrsbumblebees · 23/09/2017 07:22

Huge congratulations doomkittycleo, and very best of luck to everyone else getting ready to meet their babies! Keep us posted!

I am so excited for you, and on a very selfish note feeling terribly jealous!!! Think I've still got a way to go yet, not sure I can handle another month or so of waiting, anxiety and back pain - plus another 8 days of commuting Sad Feeling sorry for myself this morning but know I need to get over it, as long as baby gets here safely that's all that matters, even if they do keep me waiting!!!

doomkittycleo · 23/09/2017 07:27

Morning folks 🙂, I haven't slept a wink. That was so quick, I actually can't believe it. I was shopping in town at 2:30 this afternoon. Was convinced I was gonna go late if anything.

She's so small as well and here's me worrying that my newborn clothes would be too small Grin.

They are monitoring her blood sugars cus she is technically premature (although only by 3 days), but also cus she's a small weight even for her gestation.

If blood sugars remain stable we'll be able to go home tonight.

boxesoffrogs · 23/09/2017 07:30

Oh wow doom She's gorgeous! And you look amazing for just having given birth! Congratulations!

TippetyTapWriter · 23/09/2017 07:37

Huge congratulations doomkitty! She's gorgeous and a lovely name. Hope you're all doing well and get home today. Dare I ask how the experience was...

And good luck to you too waps and cineraria! It's all really happening, my god!

GimbleInTheWabe · 23/09/2017 07:39

Oh @doomkittycleo she is completely gorgeous- congrats!! And I concur with everyone else that you look totally fab too. What a lovely pic and congrats again. I bet you’ve just been staring at her all night. Will she be an Evie as a nn?

@wapsmahoney how are you getting on? Has DP woken up to the golfing news yet?! Good luck for today and let us know how you get on when possible.

Hope things are okay for you too @Cineraria, are you getting lots of visitors or are you a bit bored? Have you got an iPad or something to keep you entertained?

Aww Beautiful, congratulations!! @doomkittycleo how exciting, lovely name too 💗💗 xx

doomkittycleo · 23/09/2017 07:55

@Gimble yeah she'll be an Evie.

The experience was shocking, really hurt (I mean I knew it was going to, but no words can describe just how much).

Everything was a bit surreal tbh. I felt as though I'd been here half an hour but looked at the clock and it'd been more like 4 hours.

Managed it with just gas and air and paracetamol tho (didn't get my water birth), but didn't care when it came to it.

PingusMistress · 23/09/2017 08:03

Congratulations @doomkittycleo , she is lovely, you look amazing too and very happy! She is so teeny, I hope they don't keep you in too long and you can go home soon.

Good luck @wapsmahoney , my last labour started in a very similar way with contractions overnight and DD arrived at 5.30pm, so hopefully you don't have too long to wait! And good luck to you as well @Cineraria , hope the induction is quick.

Is there a grads board? We might need to set one up!

TippetyTapWriter · 23/09/2017 08:37

Thanks for sharing doomkitty. Sounds like you did an amazing job, well done and congratulations again! Hope you can get a bit of sleep before they send you home. X

I know I'm a soppy pregnant hormonal mess but I honestly feel quite emotional at all these babies being on their way! Good luck everyone. Now I need to get my arse in gear and finish getting everything ready for baby... still don't have sheets for the crib and a million other things to sort!

Cineraria · 23/09/2017 08:52

Fingers crossed for those blood sugars then Doom. I was on a post natal ward for a few days (while they found me an ante-natal bed) where lots of people were having them done to see when they could go home and the feeding advisors were helping them. It was so nice to hear when someone got the all clear. Hope you get any help you need to keep them up.

I have my phone with me, Gimble, and have paid for a week of hospital WiFi after using up all my mobile data the first day on a video call to DS (worth it as he grabbed DH's phone and gave it a big and very slobbery kiss when he saw me)! DH also brought me a bag of random balls of knitting yarn and my needles and crochet hooks, so I can finish off the project I had with me and start something for the baby too.

Nessalina · 23/09/2017 10:10

24hrs without checking the thread and I've missed loads!! Blush

Huge congratulations DoomKitty, she is beautiful!! I'm glad it all went smoothly for you it sounds like you rocked it! fx you can get home today! Flowers

Good luck to wapsmahoney and Cineraria
If things are getting moving for you... Grin

Bobbiepin · 23/09/2017 10:32

doomkitty she's absolutely beautiful, huge congratulations!

TheLegendOfBeans · 23/09/2017 10:50

We have a baby! Congrats @doomkittycleo x

wapsmahoney · 23/09/2017 10:51

Well it seems like everything seems to have slowed down! So frustrating!
Although the only upside is that I managed to get an hour or so sleep.
Spoke to the midwife who said to keep timing and see how things are going and call them if anything changes.
I sent DH off to play golf ... although he is on high alert ... might try taking the dog out for a short walk and see if that does anything!

Cineraria · 23/09/2017 11:42

That does sound frustrating Waps, although you will appreciate any sleep you got, or can get during golf, if things do kick off soon. Labour is hard work so you need your energy from sleep and snacks to keep you going, especially if you plan to be active in labour.

BumblingBee89 · 23/09/2017 11:51

I haven't posted on here for a while but I have been lurking!

Doomkitty massive congratulations!!!!!!!! She is absolutely beautiful and her name is perfect too!!

I can't believe we're at a point that people are having their babies!! I still can't believe it's real and I'm 37w6d!!

AgentCooper · 23/09/2017 17:00

doomkitty congratulations!! What a beautiful wee bundle she is and such a lovely name Flowers

And good luck waps and cineraria, those wee ones will be here soon Flowers

I found out on Thursday just there that I have obstetric cholestasis and am being induced on Thursday coming. I'll be 37+2 that day but the wee fella is almost 8lbs already. It was a huge shock and I still can't quite believe he's coming so soon as I was meant to be finishing work on Friday but it's all good, we'll be in safe hands.

TippetyTapWriter · 24/09/2017 07:30

Sorry about the oc agentcooper, must have been a shock! Have you been really itchy? I'm not sure if I had it in my last pregnancy. They did a blood test when I started to get very itchy legs and arms after 36 weeks but though one of my liver levels was abnormal they would have had to do a different test to know for sure. But I'd already been booked for a section by that point and they said as the only cure is to deliver the baby there wasn't any point doing another blood test. If it's any comfort they didn't seem too concerned about me having it but maybe that's because my result wasn't conclusive. I've not been itchy this time which is a relief!

Hope everything goes ok with your induction. At least you've had a few days to change plans, though I guess not much of a break between work and baby coming?! You'll be meeting them soon though, exciting! Best of luck x

TippetyTapWriter · 24/09/2017 07:34

And good luck to you too cineraria if the induction goes ahead! Hope you got some sleep last night x
