Hi all
I've been at midwife today & have another thing to worry about! 😣 she said there was traces of glucose in urine sampl. She said only a small amount & wasn't concerned but of course I'll worry about it. She felt baby & on notes it says 4/5 engaged, but is that kind of opposite so really 1/5? I'm not sure what it means.
Heartbeat was good too & sje saod my bump was very tight & all baby.
I felt like an idiot though as have put big plasters over my steam burns from yesterday & my episode with the steriliser. 😅 she was laughing when I told her the story. Also she have me another 2 free emmas diary packs the ones u get at 34 weeks. They must be trying to get rid of them as I've had 4 now. 16 free nappies & 4 bepantham creams, dove baby wash & fairy non bio samples 👍 xx

@doomkittycleo sounds like it could be.

Exciting times x

doomkittycleo · 22/09/2017 17:45

I think my waters may have gone. Went for a wee and as I stood up to wipe myself, lots of clear fluid came out. Have called hospital and they told me to come in to be assessed. On the way there now, but typical traffic is not good. Why at 5:30 on a Friday Hmm?

Bobbiepin · 22/09/2017 17:46

Don't panic, you'll have plenty of time. Drive safely and let us know how you get on! Hope everythings ok xx

GimbleInTheWabe · 22/09/2017 17:53

Have arrived at triage, waiting to be seen. Definitely started having period type pains whilst on the way here.

GimbleInTheWabe · 22/09/2017 18:25

Is it busy @doomkittycleo? How are you feeling?

mrsbumblebees · 22/09/2017 18:34

Good luck doomkitty, thinking of you!

doomkittycleo · 22/09/2017 18:51

Doesn't seem to be busy, but still waiting to be seen. More of the mucus plug came out when I went to the loo and these are my contractions.

Oh wow, so do you think you’re properly in labour then? How exciting! I’m very jealous too!
Also I hope you have your phone charger with you? 17% won’t get you too far!

ButterflyGem · 22/09/2017 19:32

How exciting @doomkittycleo hope all goes well & keep us updated xx

TippetyTapWriter · 22/09/2017 19:46

Wow, good luck doomkitty!

butterfly yes I think it's how much of the head the midwife can still feel, ie that isn't inside the pelvis. So 5/5ths means not engaged at all and 0/5 would be fully in. I read up on it today because midwife said I'm 2/5ths. Unfortunately though I also read that labour can still be weeks away! Does explain all the stabby pains though.

mummabubs · 22/09/2017 19:51

Wow, so exciting @doomkittycleo! Will be thinking of you tonight and tomorrow, wishing you a positive birth experience and enjoy meeting your little one at last! Xx

doomkittycleo · 22/09/2017 19:58

They have confirmed that it was definitely my waters, midwife is just speaking with the Dr to see if they are going to admit me or send me home.

boxesoffrogs · 22/09/2017 20:32

Oooh doom!!! How exciting!!! Good luck!

TheLionQueen1 · 22/09/2017 20:48

Good luck @doomkittycleo !! Not jealous at all Wink

wapsmahoney · 22/09/2017 20:49

Ah Doom good luck!
I was just coming on to say I've lost all or at least most of my mucus plug today too!! Been having more braxton hicks since ... well I'm assuming they are still braxton hicks ... only a couple an hour and no more painful than before.
It's a weird combination of exciting and a bit scary... could still be days before anything much happens!!

How's everyone else feeling this eve?

GimbleInTheWabe · 22/09/2017 20:58

Ah @wapsmahoney, my due date buddy! Maybe you might be heading in to labour too then?! This is so exciting!

@doomkittycleo hope everything’s okay, what are the chances of the waterbirth you wanted?

PingusMistress · 22/09/2017 22:13

Oh my goodness, how exciting @doomkittycleo ! Wishing you lots of luck, keep us posted!

And slightly scary that things are kicking off so early. I'm so not ready for baby to arrive yet.

Cineraria · 22/09/2017 22:21

How exciting to read all these labour signs. Wishing you all well and hoping you have an easy time of it.

I have been kept in hospital since they discovered my weird placenta and am threatened with induction on Sunday if I am not already in labour by then as they are worried my frequent, strong contractions could trigger a sudden bleed.

I was allowed out for two hours to eat at a restaurant opposite the hospital with DH, DS and DM. DH and DS have food allergies and I'm veggie and the only one we could all find something at was an Indian restaurant, so we'll see if the old wives' tale holds up!

SophieGiroux · 22/09/2017 22:55

Good luck @doomkittycleo! You have the same due date as me so quite scary to think it could happen anytime now. I've still got another 10 days until I finish work!
Was wondering if your low mood may be a sign things were about to happen. I'm working a lot longer this time as I got a bit depressed and anxious waiting around as gave up work 6 weeks before due date with DD1. This time I'll just have 2 weeks (maybe more maybe less!).

boxesoffrogs · 22/09/2017 23:36

Arghhh everyone might be having babies very soon!!! I feel so behind and left out! I did a lot of cleaning earlier, is that a labour sign?? Probably not... but keep us updated, girls!

Doing lots of lunging as advised by midwife to try and shift this baby to a suitable position - look like a complete and utter weirdo, even the dog has run away with her paws over her eyes at the horrific sight. Midwife also recommended hanging off the back off the sofa on all fours??? I don't have a bloody sofa still!!! 😂 having a teeny glass of wine this evening to try and get over the hellishness of the last week and a half of moving house... I reckon it can't do much harm now, right?
