This will be dc2. Edd of July 2nd.

Checking in! Tiny bit of spotting today, but I had worse with DS so trying not to worry too much. Had booking in appointment yesterday and the midwife also said it was normal in the first trimester, particularly if it's light pink or brown (light pink meaning the cervix is perhaps moving about due to the mucus plug and brown for old implantation blood).

Nausea hasn't been too awful so feeling quite lucky in that regard...

Ctupp · 18/11/2016 18:28

Glad everyone else is just as bloated as me!!!

Miami81 · 18/11/2016 18:44

Beckynw hi there. That is a coincidence. Hopefully as you say a good one for both of us. Going home to my parents for Christmas. Hoping to keep it a secret until then for them. Although maybe I need to stop building it up so much..........
good luck with it. How are you symptom wise??

Miami81 · 18/11/2016 18:46

On folic - bmi definitely over 30 and no one as mentioned it at all. Been taking it for a year now........
I was told to take vit d though.
Wish they could be more consistent on this.

purplebella · 18/11/2016 19:27

Hi sands so nice to see you on this threadGrin just waiting for the other new bpf's to switch nowWink I do keep lurking to see how they're all doing

Amzz · 18/11/2016 19:31

Hi all, room for another.

EDD 26/07/17 making me 4+3. This is baby #2 for me but OH's 1st. Tested a week ago and got a 1-2 weeks, knew right away achey back, sore boobs and today horrendous nausea (although there's a bug going round Hmmnot too sure)

10Betty10 · 18/11/2016 19:46

Ctupp- I've been insanely bloated for 2 weeks. It's starting to calm down now so there is hope yet! (Although I am definitelyV still constipated!)

whyistherumgone · 18/11/2016 20:10

Hello to all the new joiners and congrats :)

I've just eaten dinner (sorry to anyone who's so sick they can't eat!) and how have a sort of burning pain on my lower left side of my abdomen. Had it yesterday intermittently as well - has anyone else experienced it? Not sure what's normal and what's not!

PurplePikmin · 18/11/2016 20:52

Hello! I just got a bfp this evening - thought I should test after feeling queasy all day yesterday. Absolutely over the (super)moon! My due date is 27th July

Glitterbandit · 18/11/2016 21:58

Welcome newbies. On the subject of Folic Acid, I have a BMI over 30 and my booking appt midwife didn't mention a higher dose. I asked when I had my bloods taken yesterday by a different midwife and she said she hadn't heard about that and then went to ask some other midwives and they didn't know either, so she told me to see my GP. So that was helpful!

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 18/11/2016 22:18

Hmm, I think as it's relatively new advice and I've no reason in particular to worry yet as this is my first pregnancy I'll try not to worry about it, though I will mention it at my booking appointment on the 1st.

Does anybody know if they check your thyroid levels on your first blood tests? I have been freezing cold pretty much since I got my bfp and I'm suspicious my thyroid levels could be of kilter. I'm usually a vest tops in winter kind of warm (redhead) so it's unusual for me.

Glitterbandit · 18/11/2016 22:52

Thumbs up. They probably will if you ask them. I'm not sure it's routine though, so double check.

purplebella · 18/11/2016 23:30

rum I have that! Apparently it's round ligament pain?! But I only get it when I sit or lie down for a while. Mine's more constant so I'm still none the wiser as to what's causing mine!

whyistherumgone · 18/11/2016 23:46

Thanks purple thought I was going mad and having a bit of mind over matter. Now you've mentioned it the burning does start after sitting down
for a while... I didn't have it earlier when I went for a walk.
When you consider how much our bodies need to
change its not surprising we keep feeling these odd twinges and sensations I suppose!

Hope everyone gets a good night's sleep I'm suddenly wide awake. Typical!

Sasspop · 19/11/2016 10:13

Rum I have also had a slight burning sensation on the left side I feel it every now and then, usually of a morning or evening so must be when I'm lying down for a while x

Ctupp · 19/11/2016 11:03

10betty10 I'm so glad I'm not the only one going through the bloating and that it has calmed down for you, there's hope for me yet!

mummycaitlin · 19/11/2016 11:41

tumbsup I think temperate change is a pregnancy thing to be honest. With my first pregnancy it stopped at the 8 week mark I think, and this time round I'm hot and cold all the time.
HOWEVER I did have an over active thyroid after I'd had DS1, which I'm convinced started in pregnancy. The GP said I had to request a full blood test to include checking my thyroid at my booking in appointment, so they can keep an eye on it in this pregnancy. Whether the two things are connected or not i don't know!

With the folic acid, with DC1 I just took the normal about of folic acid and has a bmi over 30 then too and everything was fine, don't worry everyone!

sandsandwiches · 19/11/2016 12:10

Thanks purple Smile nice to see some familiar Nov bus faces getting bfps!

tinkling snap! Didn't have symptoms this early last time hoping it's a good sign...
You guys are organised with the folic acid. I panick bought some when got bfp on Tues had completely forgotten about it Blush excited to be 4 whole weeks today though. En route down south for a reunion- doubt I'll last till tomorrow without someone guessing with me turning down mulled wine! Grin

wildone81 · 19/11/2016 16:31

I'm really starting to get fed up with the vomiting now 😕 Anyone else throwing up daily?

Sewingbeatshousework · 19/11/2016 19:11

Not thrown up yet and seemed to have the worst nausea last week when I was only 3 weeks. Really bad indigestion, bloating, trapped wind, restlessness & dizziness. And I'm only 4+3 😩😩

MrsBobDylan · 19/11/2016 19:15

Awwww wildone that sounds horrible for you. I vomited alot with dc - dh and I used to get the train to work together and most mornings I would vomit leaving the house and try not to splash his suit or myself!

I did try anti-nausea meds with dc3 but they made me sleepy and my sickness has never been as bad as with ds1 so I didn't bother.

I would say it's worth a chat with your GP as there are good meds out there. I get shocking heartburn and with dc3 I cracked and got them to prescribe me THE BEST meds to stop it, was bliss!

whyistherumgone · 19/11/2016 20:14

Thanks sass good to know :) this thread is so handy.

Still no sickness here it does make me worry a bit (I'm 5+4) but I know I should be counting myself lucky.

Horrible digestion issues tho!

Hope everyone who is suffering from
nausea feels a bit better this evening.

Is anyone else struggling to fall asleep at night despite being dog tired during the day? I was up til 3am last night!

Miami81 · 19/11/2016 22:06

Rum I am really struggling with sleep. I am tired, been in bed around 9ish every night, go straight to sleep and then awake at 1, 3 or 5 for hours, tossing and turning. Looked it up and some chat suggests it is the progesterone. I assumed it was worrying before that, but glad that I can blame it on hormones instead......
with a bit of worrying thrown in.
I think my boobs just expanded by another cup size today. Felt fine with bra on, but now it is like they are really sore blown up balloons.
Sleep not helped by me sleeping on my tummy, boobs are now too sore for that. Nightmare.

rhodes2015 · 19/11/2016 22:34

Miami, I'm a front sleeper too! I'm trying to sleep on my side but as soon as I nod off I roll onto my front and the sore boobs wake me up!
Dh has come home early from watching football in Manchester with some sickness bug, he was green when he walked in, threw up a few times and has been asleep since 6, I really could do without catching that!

Hope everyone's ok & powering through the nausea/sickness x
