Catching up, don't worry about lack of crib literally anything does when tiny ds was put all sorts of places.

I have horrendous swelling as I walked too much in the heat yesterday my skin felt like it was going to break. But I actually have low blood pressure but the swelling is starting to affect me.

Scary if this one comes when I had ds 1 he'll be here 2 weeks time

35 + 2

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 05/06/2016 13:08

I'm inclined to think the napper thing or the pram carrycot would be OK for a few nights - I just can't work out why they say they aren't suitable for overnight sleeping and and whether it will really matter for a few nights. Or I could have baby in bed with me, but I don't really want to! I'm any case I am almost definitely worrying over nothing!

pulpi · 05/06/2016 13:36

I just spent 2 hours wandering around Mothercare aimlessly. Overwhelmed with the choices of towels. TOWELS! Clearly a life and death situation there.

I think I've lost the plot.

Cheery1 · 05/06/2016 16:23

Hahaha! pulpi that really made me chuckle. I went to homebase on my own to pick paint for hallway - couldnt decide, just stared at the choices...so many choices....and went home empty handed....oh pregnancy brain, how we love thee....

Eliz so glad your back is getting better. Cowshed is amazing!!! So jealous!!!

Currently fending off cold caught off my aunt. Bleugh!!! Why don't people mention they've got a horrible bug before a heavily pregnant woman comes to visit?! Same aunt told me after I'd arrived that both her grandchildren (that she'd been looking after) had chicken pox, not that long ago.

Happy sunny Sunday all x

Cheery1 · 05/06/2016 18:15

P.s. Babygros are so cute Bluebell! You are clever.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 05/06/2016 18:30

Bluebell love the babygros. You are so clever.

Vikki my swelling always comes out really bad after walking. My feet are also really hot. It's pretty annoying I've always had cold feet and never suffered with hot feet it makes me restless.

YouandMe some people buy a stand with their pram to use the carrycot as a Moses basket. So you will be fine.

Pulpi haha what confused you about the towels ?

Cheery sorry to hear about your cold it's horrendous being ill when pregnant but especially at this late stage. I am just getting over a bad cough/ cold. I'm sure my reduced movements the other week were due to my cough being so bad.

I had a little cry today. I'm just so tired. I can't bend over, potty training ds3 is hard word, I'm hot, my back hurts, housework is endless and I've just had enough. I'm also outrageously hormonal. DH put the sling in the wash yesterday. I specifically told him don't put it on with the other washing as it needs a delicate wash but of course he just chucked it all in together. I went crazy. I wanted to punch him in the face so bad. He thinks he's helpful putting the entire contents of the washing basket on within the space of a few hours but there's a reason I leave it a half day at least in between. Where am I supposed to bloody dry it all. Ok moan over hahaha.

Ellizardo · 05/06/2016 21:03

Er bluebell those babygros are ah-mazing!!! How cute?! Wow. Love.

Cowshed was fab and feel fully waxed, relaxed and pedi'ed. only problem was my car got towed so had to pay £265 to release it. Signage genuinely not clear so will be complaining with photographic evidence. Thanks Tower Hamlets you complete bastards.

Beautician - sorry you're feeling violent, I totally get the feeling of overwhelming 'arggghhhhh'ness at times. And I only have one other kid, can't imagine a trio!

Hope everyone has had a lovely warm Sunday at last!

35 weeks today

Ellizardo · 05/06/2016 21:07

Mascara - playmats are worth weight in gold. Ted was on his from very first days. Got 2nd hand Underwater world one with a turtle and Mozart playing...was it a Baby Einstein one? think they're all pretty good and will be used daily for a good 4-5 months or so in my experience.

OP posts:
Cookiesandcoffee · 05/06/2016 21:42

bluebell you are so creative and clever! Nope luckily no stranger is yet to touch me either. Good luck to the human who tries it!

beautician you are very brave for potty training at the mo, it can't be easy. I totally know the feeling- I feel like everything is getting on top of me and can't get my 'house' shit together. You must only have a week left at work? Hopefully that will give you a bit of extra down time.

pulpi I had a similar moment in John Lewis today. Just stared at the changing bags for ages. DD1 was most confused. Left with nothing. Despite driving all the way to Southampton to go there especially. Good old pregnancy brain!

elliz your day sounds like an absolute dream and much deserved. Hope the pampering makes you feel lovely. Good shout on the bikini attention - I'm too much of a baby for a wax!

indians aromatherapy massages ?! I need to come and give birth in your hospital! How lovely.

Also bouncing on my ball! I've used it so much, as it's comfy while I watch TV for weeks!

36 weeks tomorrow -
not that I'm wishing for babies to arrive before they're fully cooked but I sense another one must come along soon as a few are creeping towards 'full term' in the next week...

AnnaT45 · 05/06/2016 22:47

Hi girls, just checking in quickly. Thanks again for lovely messages. Mum still the same but praying she gets better soon.

I can't remember who asked about a bouncer but we got a swing chair. Godsend for us. DD had to be constantly held and it was the only way I could shower. Used to pop her in it and bring into the ensuite so she could watch me. They're just a safe place to put them! Agree with eliz on playmat. They are fab!

Re sleeping- again DD wanted to be constantly held due to reflux so I slept with her on my chest. I never had any issues but I didn't sleep fully as was aware she was there. I was doing it in hospital after midwife told me too. So if bub comes early you can do that perhaps?

eliz that is so annoying re fine! But hope the day was relaxing!

I'm sorry to those getting fed up. It will go so fast I'm sure. It's bloody hard with another one so well done to those with more than one!

bluebell love those babygros. You are clever!

We had a good day yesterday finally got into our house! So pleased with it and beyond excited now! Roll on 30 June.

Just ordered this today too to cheer myself up! It's soooo cute!!

Hope you've all been OK in this warm weather. Drink plenty of water and be careful as you burn easier in pregnancy xx

Too late for me Anna I got a little bit burnt yesterday Blush. It's very minor but it was so stupid of me: Classic "it's not that hot and I didn't think of sun cream for wandering around in Scotland" scenario.

37 weeks today. Full term - argh!

KayTee87 · 06/06/2016 07:53

I am loving the nursery pictures here and on the fb page. Ours is almost done, just the big tree wall sticker to piece together now.

I got sunburnt on Saturday, put some cold Sudocream on it Saturday night then wore factor 15 yesterday so I'm nice and brown today. Spent all day yesterday sleeping on a deckchair and occasionally going into the paddling pool to cool down - felt like I was on holiday. Lovely again today but think it's to turn tomorrow, been nice while it's lasted.

I've 15 working days left! How many of you are already on maternity leave?

Bluebell those baby grows are brilliant, they would be a great gift idea for someone too!

Getting very uncomfortable now and so hard to sleep. DH comes into the bed for 10 minutes for a chat and cuddle then goes into a spare room. I miss the closeness but we both get a better sleep this way :(

Talking of cribs, ours won't arrive until I'm 37 + which I'm a bit worried about in case it's not right for some reason and we need to choose another one. We have a spare Moses basket for the living room which we could use meantime but the one I've chosen for bedside means I don't need to get up to feed, has a feeding timer, night light, vibrating function and can play songs or white noise so I REALLY want it to arrive in time and be ok!

My husband keeps going into the nursery just to have a look which I think is quite sweet, this will sound really sexist but I thought it was only women who did that.

pulpi this is why I am eternally grateful that most of my baby stuff has been given to me secondhand. I am terrible at making decisions. Terrible.

Cheers Cheery, Beaut, Ellizardo, Cookies, Anna and KayTee re: the babygros! I'm not clever really - I just found some cute stamps on sale in Paperchase and hauled out the textile ink! Good idea KayTee about gifting them - I will have to remember that for next time a friend has a baby! I'm going to have a go at screenprinting some this week though, which I think could be really pretty.

Beaut I've been sobbing a lot as well. Try and snatch some 'me-time' wherever you can, if possible - I know it must be basically impossible with three small boys around your feet, though. Perhaps the drying should be DH's problem to solve, seeing as he created it?!

Ellizardo glad you enjoyed Cowshed. ARGH to the fine! I hope you get that back!

Gx thanks, I was so touched by the hamper - it felt really special. Friends are lovely!

Anna so glad you are all moved in! Happy nesting!

Indians that looks a lot like one of the rooms in the hospital where I'm planning to give birth. I loved the dim lighting - it was all so much calmer and lovelier than I was expecting.

Think I'm developing carpal tunnel syndrome. I keep getting tingly fingertips. It is driving me nuts because all I want to do is crochet and I can't :(

pinkrosexxoxxx · 06/06/2016 12:58

Still got just over 7 weeks to go & I'm getting impatient even though I'm still not 100% prepared anyone else the same?

photographerlady · 06/06/2016 13:10

Hey ladies just catching up on the thread. First a few purchases I have been happy about:

Babygros - I am really tall and my first was tall so went for the standard ones from john lewis as they are generous on length and last longer each size. The newborn size also stretches 6-8 weeks as well.

Sleepyhead - This was a tough one, its not cheap but wanted something I could put in the cot and crib. Cribs is right by my bed now with the sleepyhead inside. Ideally she will get used to it then at 4-6 months when I put her in the nursery the sleepyhead will go in with her.

Fengreek and Yeast tablets... hoping not to need them but had supply issues last time and it helped. Going to start them after the first week of post baby if I need a boost. Also saves me loads of calories by not shoving lactation cookies in my mouth.

foobio · 06/06/2016 13:33

Just Googled lactation cookies, perhaps this is why I've been leaking so much, I live on oat cookies and flapjack! Grin

Vikkijayne2507 · 06/06/2016 14:17

beatician I am also feeling the crazy emotions, I'm now really struggling to sleep at night so so uncomfortable and having a constant go at oh. No real reason poor man.

kaytee I was really into the whole white noise, multi function options but my son did not sleep with any noise after a few months, he was a vvv light sleeper still is. However a friend of mines ds always had white noise to sleep and still needs it. So it really is baby dependent

I'm rather sick of being so big and uncomfortable I really hope I don't have to go past my due date I'd prefer slightly earlier like ds

pulpi · 06/06/2016 16:03

Photographer lady - I've bought a sleepyhead as well. I hated the Moses basket when I was a baby (apparently) so it seemed the safest option.

So glad I'm not the only one with pregnancy brain!

Ellizardo · 06/06/2016 16:10

Pulpi & photographer - you will not regret the sleepyhead purchase IMHO. That reminds me to clean it and prepare old car seat etc. I am v tempted to get a handheld vacuum cleaner. Any recommendations? The Dyson one looks good but is ££.

OP posts:
pulpi · 06/06/2016 18:15

Ellizardo- sleepyhead made sense for us for a number of reasons: we can co-sleep in the first days, I can move it to different rooms during the day while he's napping, and I can take it to Spain in December when we go to visit the MIL whose flat is not baby ready at all. Glad to hear your experience with it are good! Big sigh of relief!

AnnaT45 · 06/06/2016 18:45

There are two baby 'non essentials' I personally think are essentials. A sleepyhead and Ewan the dream sleep. Both pricey but amazing!!!
eliz how are you going to wash the sleepyhead? I was wondering if it may go in the machine? Also I have a dyson v6 (I think) it's bloody amazing with a toddler and I wish I bought one before. I'm not sure about others but think they're all similar in price?

blue we've not moved yet! It's a new build and was the first time we got into ours. We move three weeks Thursday when I'll be almost 36 weeks! Given all the stuff with mum it's actually a nice distraction for me!

you Be careful in the sun!!! You should always wear a hat or suncream if you can. I'm really funny about sun burn but I was born and raised in a hit country so it's ingrained in you! Plus it makes you wrinkly, that motivates me a lot Grin

SpeakNoWords · 06/06/2016 18:46

We got a sleepyhead last time, as DC1 wouldn't take to the moses basket at all. It was great, and he slept in it everywhere. Definitely recommend them!

Ellizardo we've got a handheld Dyson and I really like it. The charge lasts for a decent amount of time, and it is really light and easy to use. I find it invaluable for all the quick clear ups that need doing, like after a toddler lunch! Also for a quick whizz round before unexpected guests.

Thom80 · 06/06/2016 19:02

Apols for the huge post!
Indians - the nursery looks lovely. I can't wait to get started on mine.
Bluebell - the babygros at so cute. I need to get more organised with the cleaning when we get into the new place. We have a cleaner but I am I two minds about whether to keep her on. I know that OH will want to.
Vikki - the swelling is horrendous in the heat. My feet and ankles were so swollen OH said that you could see them in space! Today I couldnt cope wearing shoes in the office so took them off and had bare feet under the desk. It made the day so much better.
Pulpi - choosing towels can be a big decision! I am intrigued to know what you finally went for.
Cheery - hope the cold isn't too bad and quickly improves.
Ellizi - I would be so frustrated by the car towing. I saw my best friend on Friday and he had recently been to cowshed for a pedicure. He suggested that on my mat leave before baby arrives we go together and have lunch first in primrose hill. It is all arranged and sorted today. I am so looking forward to it. He is great company and I won't have many opportunities to spend just the two of us now. He is also committed to visiting me in hospital before baby is born to keep me company, I feel very lucky to have him.
I know a few people with the dyson hand held and they rave about it. I am going to get one.
Pink rose - I am under 6 weeks to go and still haven't bought anything at all. So under prepared! I am definitely going for the sleepy head.
Anna - hope you are ok and looking after yourself. Good luck with the house. It is another stress to add to your already full hands.
I am feeling so big and uncomfortable at the moment. I did too much over the weekend sorting out the house and my back is killing me & my feet are so swollen. I have such a long list of moans it is unbelievable. Off to spend the night at my mum's because OH is away & can't sleep on my own. I am going to go & have a shower straight away! At least dinner will be prepared and we can have a nice catch up.
Has anyone else thought about having someone over night to help look after the baby. My mum keeps suggesting it for after my operation but I am reluctant. I am not sure about a stranger looking after my baby but then it puts a huge on OH.
