Ooh! Dunno - my contractions with DD were all very pelvic-feeling aches, I think. Quite period pain-like, from what I remember - which tbh isn't a lot... I was getting a lot of bladder/cervix head butting last night, though - which was like little electric shocks and made me exclaim!

I've come back home after trying to stay out longer but was getting bored. So I'm sitting on my bed eating an M&S Wensleydale & carrot chutney sandwich and washing down iron and ranitidine with cherry Coke. I'm so classy.

Elliz curtains not blinds but yeah, £62 a pair - they were half price. Only eyelet jobs, but floor length and compared to the price of the made to measure, I can live with that. Plus the fabric reminds me of triangulation points on old maps I am so boring

Beaut DD has a Peter Rabbit, she loves it - he's really soft!

julfin · 05/07/2016 15:35

Hopes - Harry is really lovely!

Primary - congratulations! Very happy for you! Adorable picture. Thanks for sharing your birth story with us.

Anna - so glad your DM is in a nice hospice. Thinking of you all. You sound so strong - a real inspiration. Do remember to rely on others (incl here) for support. Glad you're in your new house too. And nice that you got to see baby's face again!

Anna/Beaut - yes I'm planning to re-Hollywood myself this pm - if I can still get the cream to reach down there!

Beaut - sympathies re your DH playing up. Not surprised you were grumpy! Sometimes I wonder what the world would be like if men had to be mothers and women could be fathers. I'm pretty sure we'd do a much better job of it and they'd be shambolic! Thanks for the advice re 6 weeks being the time to start a routine - really useful to know. I guess I need to start reading up about these things - can focus on that now that I've finished work and once I've pushed a baby out of me... Re the pregnancy ball, what moves do you actually do on it? Do you just sit on it and wiggle about / stretch a bit? I'm finding it hard to envisage. If anyone's got a link with some good ball exercises/moves, that'd be great.

Pulpi - thanks so much for the amazing TV list - that's awesome! Plenty for me to be getting on with. I think I'll hit house of cards first. Have you seen both the American and the old British versions? So sorry to hear about your relative. I've sent the link to my family in BC - they're not too far from castlegar (by Canadian standards) so hopefully will be able to circulate it to a few more folk nearby. Keeping fingers crossed that he turns up soon. When's the graduation? My sympathies to all your family at this difficult time.

Thom your mat leave plans sound great! Glad that you're home, hope you're enjoying the home comforts.

Gnat your SIL sounds like a right pita. Hope you've managed to enjoy relaxing and watching Wimbledon nevertheless. And hope things are a bit more settled with DH. Good luck with your sister. Gosh, families eh.

Bluebell - hope things happen soon for you, naturally. Sounds as if you've been very dedicated in trying everything! Sorry about you dad being difficult - I think you're totally justified in wanting time to yourself. Well done for speaking up! Glad you've got your bro's moral support. Btw can't you change the settings to on your answerphone so you have enough time to waddle downstairs and answer it? (I ask the question as a total technology vacuum - I wouldn't know how to myself.)

Photographer - fingers crossed that you little bundle arrives soon!

Becks - love the picture, especially the tiger face! Glad Ben is sleeping well.

Speak - glad to hear you've got an easy baby so far!

RubyChoosday - glad to hear the bathroom's falling into place. Loved your Boots photo story - genius! I like it when you post because I get a great song in my head for the rest of the day 😊

Cheery - sorry about your UTI. I think I might have one too - the symptoms I had a couple of weeks ago seem to be back. Am off to my MW appt now so will hopefully find out.

Elliz - very best of luck for tomorrow! Very exciting! I chuckled re Ted rejecting those lovely toys in favour of the free gift - typical! Oh and good luck with those dimmer switches - ha! You sound like me... BTW I haven't been able to stop thinking about Nigella's chocolate guinness cake all day since reading your post. Have just walked into Starbucks to get myself a triple choc muffin while I wait for my MW appt 😊

Ruby - ok I can now trump your boots photos story. I've just arrived at my midwife appt, went to the loo to do my urine sample, and only realised as I walked out of the loo that I'd entirely forgotten to do the sample. Wee'd it all merrily straight down the pan. How can I be that forgetful in the space of just two minutes?! Now I have precisely 3 minutes in which to summon up enough wee for another sample... The pressure, the pressure!

Congratulations primary !! Will catch up on the thread properly later but I've been too manic to post my news that baby George was born on Monday!! Weighing 8lb 7 I think he's quite the chunk of the babies so far! Doing very well and feeding lots. The induction was a different experience!! Will fill you in later. Home now and meeting his DDs, enjoying our newborn bubble. (And yes I managed to give birth on my due date once again!!)

Sending baby vibes to all those who are very close! I felt sure either beaut or bluebell would be date buddies with me! Come on babies!!!

pulpi · 05/07/2016 17:37

Juflin - I just heard from my mom and it's not good news. No details yet, but he was found yesterday. We're all in shock. To lose both boys to suicide in the space of only a few years is just inconceivable. His parents are reeling.

Ellizardo · 05/07/2016 18:10

Cookies - congratulations! Thinking of you and George chillaxing with your family. How lovely you're out of hospital. Can't wait to see a pic.

Beaut - any chance of an updated doc?

tams13 · 05/07/2016 18:25

I'm so sorry to hear that pulpi. I can't even begin to imagine what your family are going through. Is there family living near his parents so they can all support each other through this?

Congratulations cookies. Hope you're both feeling well.

I thought I'd manage to keep up better now that I'm on maternity leave but I still seem to read and not post so much. Getting impatient for the baby to arrive now. Not helped by mil telling me constantly that first babies are usually late. If the baby is late then it's late but there's no need to go on about it.

birdandbee · 05/07/2016 18:27

Very short post this evening..... as had a very painful sweep today that set off contractions!

They have tailed off a bit now.... hence being able to scan read everyones posts. Still feel quite niggle-y so off to bounce on my ball to see if i can get them to intensify again. Even if they don't, I am very pleased with how well it worked considering I am only 39+ 4. Midwife was surprised too! [big grin].

Just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to Cookie [flower] and Primary [flower] and hope everything goes well tomorrow for you Eliz.

pulpi · 05/07/2016 19:07

Tams - Lots of family nearby, which helps some. And they are all quite close, especially since the first son's passing. So the sisters-in-law and the kids are well-supported, but the aftermath of it all is still incredibly difficult.

On a much happier note, it sounds like some of you ladies are having real progress on the labour front! Keeping my fingers crossed for more baby photos soon!

beckslovestimmy · 05/07/2016 19:17

Sorry to hear that Pulpil it must be so hard going through it twice.

Congratulations cookies!!!! Welcome baby George. Glad your having a lovely time now your home.

Good luck to all of those with niggles. Here's hoping those babies hurry up!

AnnaT45 · 05/07/2016 19:40

Oh pulpi I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine how his parents must feel. I hope you're ok? Suicide is just so bloody hard to come to terms with. Sending you a
hug xx

cookies congrats! It sounds like you're doing well. We're going to need pics though!!

primary that is one gorgeous lady! I love the name too. Hope you're doing well after that quick labour! You give me hope that I may get one ahead of my section! Advice- sleep when baby sleeps, stuff the housework, take up people's offers to help you with things. Just survive each day and don't worry about routines etc. It will eventually fall into place!

Thank you all for your lovely messages. You're so sweet. I think I get my strength from having so much support and also mum doesn't want me sad. I also think having a toddler and baby on the way keeps me going. But don't get me wrong it's harder than anything I've been through and I know it will get worse.

Sounds like we've got lots more movement happening. These babies are coming thick and fast ( literally for Primary!) good luck xx

Cheery1 · 05/07/2016 19:52

Congratulations Cookies!!! Welcome to the world George Flowers

Cheery1 · 05/07/2016 19:52

Oh Pulpi I'm so so sorry, that's really sad news. My thoughts are with you and the family.

Bird - good luck!

MrsRolly · 05/07/2016 21:27

Oh Pulpi so sorry that's awful news.

Congrats beautiful girl and a quick labour too :)

Sweep sounds positive, how did you manage to get one so early on? Funny how the country varies :)

Hopefully more babies soon, exciting few weeks ahead for us all with births and newborn cuddles.

I intend to just go with the flow with feeding and visitors etc if we aren't ready they can't come around

dats · 05/07/2016 21:35

pulpi so sorry to hear that it was the worst possible outcome. Such a sad thing for your family to go through.

Cookies huge congrats on your beautiful boy!!! How are you all getting on - what do George's siblings make of him??

Bluebell? BLUEBELL??! Grin

Elliz what time do you go tomor? How are you feeling about it all?

Come on baby birdy

No twinges of any description for me today, yay! Plastering all done, DP currently scrubbing old kitchen floor to help keep dust down, bless him. We have a LOT of cleaning to do but that's ok because I have ze nesting and I can brandish a duster and Pledge even with SPD. In other news, I've got a chuffing cold. Because I needed another reason to not sleep and sneezing is really comfortable when you have no functioning abs! Hope it effs off as quickly as it arrived!

dats, blah+blah

Liz09 · 05/07/2016 21:46

pulpi So sorry to hear about your relative. How awful. Sad

Liz09 · 05/07/2016 21:48

Oh and congratulations, cookies! Smile

Ellizardo · 05/07/2016 22:30

Pulpi - that is just awful. What a tragedy. Feels so strange to hear that news whilst we're all creating life. It just breaks my heart.

Well dats (love the blah + blah! I feel ya) - the in laws have arrived. I cooked for the first time in ages in their honour and it was a disaster. We'll prob all be admitted with botulism tmw instead of the c section. But they've been really sweet, taking notes on Ted's routine, listening attentively to my inane ramblings about his love of peeled pear etc.
It's been a great distraction to be honest. Just taken my first antacid and washed with horrid antibacterial shower gel. Can't quite believe it! Think I'll actually sleep quite well though and focusing on positive instead of nerves at needles/blood loss/fears she'll be ok.

Sounds like your doing Sterling work on your gaff. Xx

Gnat - due date buddy! Hope you're ok too and everyone else still in suspended animation!

N'night all x

dats · 05/07/2016 22:49

Elliz totes read that as 'just taken my first antacid and washed it down with horrid antibacterial shower gel' Mmm, delicious! Grin Glad you're feeling calm about it all. Having a schedule definitely has its plusses, not least with childcare.

Good luck, can't wait to hear your news! xx

Cookiesandcoffee · 06/07/2016 06:38
