YouAndMe massive congrats on the arrival of Beatrice - beautiful name, beautiful girl! Well done. Although it wasn't the arrival you may have anticipated, the main thing is that she's here and you're her mummy regardless. Good luck in your new job!!!
Becks GOOD LUCK!! Is our referendum baby in or out?! Awaiting updates, you've got until 6am tomorrow apparently, get counting!!!
Speak that's brilliant news, really good progress! Lovely that he's with you.
Thom I'm not surprised you're exhausted. It's such a big thing when it's flippin' straightforward and you've been thrown in at the deep end. 4lb is good for 35w though - she'll get there. Hope you can get some rest.
Bluebell your MIL just made me well-up, damn her! What a lovely thing. And with you not having your mum around, such added poignancy. People are lovely! All sounds good on the baby front, good stuff. Blanket...where to start?! It's a beauteous thing, I love it. It's just so beautifully balanced, colour-wise. I can't see wonkiness, either. And I know how much work and love went into it (and carpals). Hooray for woolcraft!
pulpi did you manage to make it out of the house after consuming all the biscuitry?? What purchases have you made? Spill!
Beaut your morning was super productive! Are you feeling down about potty training and/or the thought of managing DS3 plus the newb? I'd wager you're just knackered and having a down day - I've only got one and I'm struggling, you're my feckin' hero, love! Hope you feel brighter tomor. How are your burning bits, btw?? It does sound a bit like it might've been a false alarm and it was just ('just'!) hair removal burn. Hope so!
Cheery hooray that the builders have gone! So is it all finished??
julfin agree about the bouncer advice. Although didn't exactly follow it as we got a Baby Bjorn chair which cost loads but was one of my favourite purchases!! Glad all was ok at your appt the other day. Are you doing ok, you mentioned things being stressful?
Cookies definitely get why you're happy about having a date! Glad all was good on the trace, little bugger! What's the latest on the cornpox (that really made me laugh, whoever it was that typoed it!!) - that's really a level of complication that you don't need! Ruddy germy childers!
Elliz DD has your moniker, and it's my middle name so I agree, You has made a fine choice! Get something on those naked needles. Seeing as I can't imagine finishing the blanket I'm knitting in time for the bebe's arrival, I may post a picture of the 20cm I've done so far so you can see how directly inspired I was by Ted's green one..!
Jem sending labour vibes! Nice, pain free ones, obvs!!
Anna just seen your update OMG CONGRATULATIONS! I'm almost more excited than if you'd given birth, fer chrissakes! Having only moved ourselves a year ago, I can well remember a similar shaky stage just prior to our exchange and nearly exploding with rage about it all! So relieved for you. Hope the blast of treatment makes your mum feel a bit better. And yes. Boiling and cankled - sleeping is shite in this weather!
Goodness this a right essay, sorry! All ok here. Started on iron tablets after my Spatone fail. And also on some variation of Movicol to counteract the inevitable. Have also caved and started taking ranitidine at night for indigestion (every time I type that my phone corrects it to 'indignation'! I'd quite like a pill for when I'm Outraged of East Sussex!!). I can manage it in the day but at night I was swigging Vomiscon every couple of hours. Anyway, seems to be doing the trick. I got my work friend to be my drugs mule and go to the pharmacy in case they refused to sell it to me!!
What else..? Oh I finished work today. Got night-feeding snacks, flowers and a voucher for a treatment room, which I was really surprised by, given it's the second time my team have forked out for my family choices. So I will use that for unpigletting my eyes - although Beaut you've made me want a lash lift now and this place doesn't do them, rar!! It was weird going on mat leave a second time. Definitely more low key: I already work part time, so being home in the week isn't the big deal it was. There's no sense of 'ahhh, let me lay on the sofa, knitting all day' because I still have a demanding 2 year old. Not saying it's a bad thing - just different. Nicer in some ways, I guess. Tomor I'm spending the day with a v good NCT friend and we're having pedicures and lunch and I can't tell you how excited I am! I've never had a pedicure - I'm such a lame ass grown up!! We're going to a v cool looking vintage salon and she chose and booked it for us, which made it even nicer.
Tomor eve I'm picking up the birth pool from another lovely friend and we're going out for some food.
Hopefully it will make up for the fact that we still have no kitchen and next week my mat leave will consist of dates at home with a weird, overly serious, beardy electrician and a very lovely, friendly emo plumber. I have made peace with the fact that the kitchen ain't gonna be done by the time we're a family of four but you know what? It's fine! I don't quite know who I am anymore (#virgocontrolfreak) but I am just focusing on controlling the things I can control, like big pants, birth pool, ordering DP around to do the laundry and bring me ice cream, ordering things we don't really need (sleepsuits) from John Lewis clearance and making sure as far as I can that DD is vaguely prepared that I'm about to ruin her life - as well as my own, willingly and intentionally - for a second time!!!!
Ooh good grief that Newcastle result is VERY CLOSE, eep!
