bluebell Yey your blanket progress sounds amazing! Fingers crossed those pesky fingers behave themselves and you can get on- I'm so excited to see the final result!
Oh and RLT- I think mine are 750mg of raspberry leaf per tablet and you take two a day, which I've been taking for a few weeks or so now. Yes I love stocking up on washing powder, loo roll, tins of soup etc, just to try and cover myself for the early days. Again, control freak, I probably don't trust DH Blush
I don't think I could reach to do a perineal massage Confused a friend recommended it but I've never got round to it. Are you using a particular cream/oil?

thom so glad you're feeling more upbeat about the situation, it sounds promising. Hope all is well and you get to go home, but look after yourself and keep cooking that baby Smile I would follow your instincts

mascara I hope you're getting some time to relax and rest post those pesky BH. I thought I was having some mild contractions earlier .. Just wind Blush

elliz I am so glad your mum is feeling better today. Always a good sign if they are misbehaving a little!!

fifi been thinking of you, hope all is going well

My DD2 has her preschool jabs tomorrow Sad right in the middle of her (long) nursery day. So awkward. Can't remember if this will make them poorly or not either?? I could have done without it truth be told, but figured better now than in the coming months when juggling MW/HV/post natal checks/baby immunisations.

Lulabells · 14/06/2016 17:50

Hi all. Just trying to have a quick catch up. Moved house on Friday. It was knackering and bloody stressful but worth it. Now that we are in I'm thinking "oh my goodness, I've got a baby coming in 6 weeks! !". I've got so much to do and so little time. Dreamt I went into labour last night so told DP I need to sort out our room ready for baby this weekend as it's stressing me out (got to rely on others to help move wardrobes etc. I hate not being in control).

I hope everyone is doing ok. I've had a quick read through but will do a proper catch up later. Right ...beans on toast for tea as oven is knackered in new house!!

Jem01 · 14/06/2016 19:07

Hey, quick update no baby yet. My labour has slowed down still 3cm and haven't had a show nor have waters broke so doctors are happy for me to go home and continue with labour naturally. So i guess i just wait at home for labour to progress now. What a crazy 24hours!! So tired but just relieved baby is ok and an infection has been ruled out as apparently that's common in women who dilate and waters haven't broken at 36 weeks and under. Hope everyone else is ok?

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 14/06/2016 20:44

Induction date set for 39+6, which I can live with. Fingers crossed I might go into labour myself before that, but if not then so be it. At least it's a few days more than originally planned to give it a chance.

Ellizardo · 14/06/2016 21:31

Youandme - great news! Get curry-guzzling/raspberry leafing/ball bouncing!

Jem - so pleased you're allowed home and all is well though hope the twists and turns aren't doing your head in too much. Enjoy the comfort and quiet of home for now!

Fell off the thread, will need to go back and catch up. The Facebook page is much easier to follow (meaning I obviously spend too much time on Facebook Grin). I feels really surreal to see us talking contractions now instead of morning sickness.

I've not been feeling great lately I wonder if anyone is sharing the same symptoms (some are tmi);

Some nausea again
Diarrhoea
Complete change in bowel habits (time I go to the loo Blush)
Feeling like I need to pee constantly - worse than before
Pelvis, back and hips really aching
Feeling much heavier, harder to move around or get comfortable
Sore pressure in bump (not sure if it's something the baby is pressing against)
Bizarrely I have slept better the past 2 nights but still feel just as tired
Almost no discharge at all now despite it being very increased the rest of the pregnancy

Have midwife tomorrow but not sure if I should bother mentioning any of this or if it's all completely normal. Finish work a week on Friday and really feel like I need the rest, have been putting in a lot of hours lately when I should really be winding down.

photographerlady · 14/06/2016 22:12

dats thanks. DD started a new preschool last week as we have moved. Its more of a nursery than a preschool it seems but she loves it so far. Time will tell if its a good fit. DD and I had a talk about mummy being tired and that she really needs to go to sleep. Last two nights I have read 10 stories in the evening (crazy I know) but she picks them and then is okay with me leaving her in her room if she’s still awake when I am done. Knock on wood she’s been sleeping 8-7am the last two nights straight through.

Cookiesandcoffee I think my tummy is worse as the days go by. I have been overdoing it too so need to get back to simple meals tomorrow.

Thom80 glad they gave you some answers and please rest up now for the next few weeks.

Bluebell20 yeah I fall asleep too. I think I am going to let DH do the school run and then hynobirth in the afternoons. Good luck with the massage I said goodbye to my bits weeks ago.

mascaraisamust good luck with the hynobirthing let me know how you get on.

Lulabells good luck with the move. I moved house at 35 weeks and tbh two and a half weeks later and the stress of unpacking is the worse bit.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut whens your induction date? Mines the 28th. We can update each other on the amount of spicy curries and long walks we both have :)

Hi all :-) I'm in hospital, blood pressure went very high and stayed high for a while. I've got to stay in until it's stable - if it doesn't stay stable then it might mean a c section in the next day or so. Really hope that isn't the case!

37 + 0

Cheery1 · 14/06/2016 22:52

Hey Speak - hope the blood pressure clams down. As long as you and baby are ok, that's the main thing. Sending calm thoughts x

SpeakNoWords · 14/06/2016 22:57

Thank you cheery :-) fortunately the baby's heart rate etc are all absolutely fine. They're giving me steroids in case of a c section, so I'm feeling fairly ok about that should it need to happen. It's just a waiting game to see if the BP stays stable.

tams13 · 14/06/2016 23:29

jem glad you've been able to get home. Hope the contractions aren't tiring you out too much and you manage a bit of rest!

youandme great news on the date. Fingers crossed you've got a baby who isn't willing to wait quite that long but at least you've got a few extra days.

kaytee I've got a few of those too. Particularly feeling a bit sore, not getting comfy and the change in habits. My feet are still swelling too. Was hoping that they would have calmed down now that it's a bit cooler (it's helped a bit but not as much as I hoped).

speak sorry to hear you're being kept in but at least they're watching your bp. Glad to hear the baby is still happy and hope your bp stabilises soon.

Thom80 · 15/06/2016 07:10

speak - hope you are ok, and I know how scary it is. I am keeping everything crossed that your BP comes down. Thinking of things.

jem hope everything is ok back home.
Things are improving for me & I am optimistic today that I will be out on Thursday / Friday & will go to 38 weeks.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 15/06/2016 08:16

Photographer I still chat regularly with my mn 2013 group too. I often go to them for advice before anyone else. Ds3 was a pain at the weekend but I think that was MIL as he has been lovely the last two days with me.

Mascara my braxton Hicks are painful too Sad

Eliz hope your mum makes a speedy recovery. Haha our dine in meal for 2 was yummy. I couldn't be bothered to cook.

You pleased you had a good anniversary. I'm spoilt this week with lunches with DH. He is finishing work early today and tomorrow which never happens in his job.

Anna yay for ordering the pushchair. I looked at that one when we first started trying as I would have needed a double but it turned out to take a lot longer than we thought.

Dats Glad you have a birthing pool sorted. Plus the other items you've been lent. I had hoped to save money this time but I've sent a small fortune as we had started to sell some of ds3s things.

Thom I hope you get discharged today. Just make sure you try and get things ready at home.

Bluebell yes my DH would likely disappear in search of food. I just like something nice for after. I'm taking in a couple of mini prosecco bottles to celebrate after the birth.

Cookies eek pre school jabs I suppose I will have a letter for ds3 soon. I don't think it makes them too poorly maybe just a bit sleepy. Good luck.

Lula hope you get settled into your new house quickly. I moved just before I had ds3 and although the move itself was stressful it was nice setting everything up in the new house as he had all new furniture.

Kaytee I've been having the same symptoms for a few weeks. It's just your body gearing up for labour.

Speak hope your blood pressure settles. Sending positive vibes.

Jem I hope labour progresses well for you and that you aren't in for a tough time. Good luck.

Well I can't believe babies are arriving already.
I've had an epic fail. I should have listened to whoever advised to not use hair removal cream during pregnancy. I've been using it on my bikini line throughout pregnancy and been fine. However, this time I appear to have burnt myself. My bits are all sore and swollen. I couldn't sleep last night. They were swollen before use so it's hard to tell. Hope I don't go into labour anytime soon as I don't think I could cope. You can all laugh now Grin

kaytee - tick tick tick. all sounds very familiar and very normal...right down to the discharge!

speak - blimey, hope you're ok.

thom - you too!

Let's hope some babies start arriving - make a nice change from bloody Brexit!

SpeakNoWords · 15/06/2016 08:51

Currently I'm waiting for another bp check at 10am, and for DP to arrive at 11am. BP was a little higher than ideal when they did it a 6am, but I've had more medication so hopefully it'll be back down. It's not at the scary levels it was yesterday evening. Baby also isn't moving very much, which is making them a little twitchy, although normally I don't get much movement in the mornings. They're going to do another trace in a while and see how it's going.

Hope things are going ok for Jem and Thom too FlowersFlowers

tams13 · 15/06/2016 08:58

thom pleased you're feeling positive. Fingers crossed for a discharge before the weekend!

speak hope your bp has come back down since this morning. I don't get much movement in the morning either and was told by the hospital that they don't like doing traces in the morning. It takes a lot longer because the babies are sleepy and people might not have had breakfast. They still ask people to go in at those times though!

Yikes beautician! Would be good if the swelling went down before baby decides to make an appearance.

julfin · 15/06/2016 09:06

Goodness me, so much going on with everyone!

Thom (or Thor, according to autocorrect!) - Hope you're ok - thinking of you. Great to hear the baby's doing so well. Hope they let you out soon. And I hope things fall into place on the house/unpacking front too.

Anna - thinking of you and your mum - glad to hear she's out and hope she's doing ok. My dad had septicaemia a few years ago and ended up in a coma on life support with multiple organ failure, but then fully recovered - fit as a fiddle! The human body is an amazingly resilient thing. Sorry to hear re the house malarkey - hope it sorts out soon.

Elliz - gosh, and your dear ma too. Thinking of you both. Glad to hear she's still up to a bit of ogling! Re brexit - I am deeply worried!

Jem - nice that you've been allowed out - more relaxing at home. Keep us posted when you can.

Speak - hope your bp settles. Glad the baby is doing fine. Hope you get more wriggles as the day progresses.

Beaut - how's your DH - recovered? Good point re packing the bubbly in the hospital bag! Sorry re your lady garden epic fail! I was planning to re-do mine today. Do you think you left the cream on for too long, or d'you reckon your skin is just getting more sensitive as you approach the finishing line?

Birchy - hope you're ok too - what a headache.

Photo - how lovely that you still chat daily with your MN2013 mums on fb! And you, beaut. Hope your DD stays settled, photo.

Cookies - ha ha, I laughed re the speed bumps!

Dats - I'm another one in the queue for a hip replacement. They've started really really aching over the last few days. I guess at 35w the body is starting to move/expand into place for labour. Love your idea re snorting curry powder, ha! When I was doing exams at uni, at lunchtime one of my class dared another boy to snort a line of salt. He cried all the way through the afternoon exams. Idiot.

Lula - glad the house move has happened and hope you manage to get everything else in place.

Kaytee - yes I developed a lot of those symptoms last week too (week 34) - especially sore hips/back/pelvis and the nausea. I think it's just the muscles loosening into place, but would be interested to hear what your MW says - please report back! I'm relieved to hear from beaut that this can last a few weeks - no way do I want the baby to arrive quite yet!

For those asking about Fifi and Luca, she posted a lovely photo on fb a few days ago - seems to be doing fine.

As for me, Baby is wriggly as ever, and he's developed a hiccoughing habit over the last week. Did our final NCT class on Saturday - I'd say it was only partly useful, and if anything it just freaked DH out even more, re how much our lives are going to change. Met some nice people through it though, and the ladies have already set up weekly coffees which I'm looking forward to. I've got 2.5 weeks left at work (although that includes some half days for midwife/consultant/antenatal plus the afternoon off today for a Coldplay concert - my Christmas present to DH). And then I'm hoping to have a further 2.5 weeks at home before the baby's born, as I could do with some time to relax. Having said that, as DH is very much not relaxed about the whole thing, part of me thinks the sooner it happens the better 😳

35+1

SpeakNoWords · 15/06/2016 11:12

I've been allowed home :-) bp will need regular checks and they're going to do a sweep next week when I'll be 38 weeks, rather than wait till 39. Really hope that things can kick off without the need for a proper induction!

Hope everyone else is doing well, and managing to rest :-)

Gx91 · 15/06/2016 11:35

I'm soooo behind here but trying to keep up a bit hope all is ok jem.

I've had 3 painful contractions last couple of days that stopped. Exhausted but still working with lots to do and a toddler who thought it would he great to wake at 6am after going to bed at midnight, I took him to nursery at 10.30 came home and slept 3 hours meaning I didn't do all work I needed to felt stressed out and still out of it.

I'm nervous I'll have this one similar time to my first which means next Wednesday - I have Drs that day so hopefully they'll be able to see if he's on his way or not. I have a feeling he'll be here soon tho I need to rearrange my hospital bag

36 + 4

Cookiesandcoffee · 15/06/2016 17:20

speak so glad you have been let home, hope bp stays down for you.

beaut are you a bit extra sensitive? I've used it through this pregnancy and others. Only hope- wouldn't trust myself with a razor with no way of seeing! Hope it calms down for you soon. Sounds very sore indeed. I got my immunisation letter the other day and thought better to get it out the way. She cried and cried bless her- it was traumatic for all involved. I don't think DD1 was bothered at all...

kaylee they all sound normal I'm afraid! Baby getting lower and hormones.

elliz I posted my vote yesterday, I feel really nervous about the whole thing now!

youandme that's good news with the induction date- fingers crossed you can bring things on before then. I don't know about you though but I'm far too tired for sex Hmm and midwife told me that's all that works :/

julfin have a great time at the Coldplay concert, hope it's not too tiring and you has a lovely eve

Had some horrnedous Braxton hicks but none today thank goodness. Think I over did it yesterday. I had this with #2 I had contractions on and off for weeks before the real deal. Today I'm absolutely shattered and am dreaming of bed. DDs are draining the life out of me (feel mean but true)

Anyone else's boobs leaking to the extent they have to wear breast pads every day?! I just feel like they're so ready to go!

GoingLoopyQuickly · 15/06/2016 22:08

Hi all. I have completely lost track of this thread for the last couple of weeks so I have tried to catch up but so much to read.

I found out last week that minor contraction type pains I was experiencing were due to the little lady turning breech and my body responding. Pain has gone and she is as wriggly as ever. I am ever hopeful she is back in the right pace too but I will find out on Monday at my 34wks mw appointment.

I do hope she does get back into ceph so I can use my pool again. But she will come out one way or another so what will be will be.

I did find out the other day that if I have to have a csection I might be well off getting a full wax of the whole bikini area. My friend didn't and was shaved in the theatre in a room full of people. She just said she woulx have liked to be prepared but didn't know. I can't imagine how itchy that was growing back though!

I also realised I have 4 weeks left at work which means I will be right on the line if I am able to go with a natural hb as ds came along at 38+4. I do have to keep reminding myself I am only taking a short time off and would prefer that to be mostly with the baby. But still. It is all creeping up quickly. Loads of you will already be having squishy cuddles before I even finish work!

SpeakNoWords · 15/06/2016 23:10

GoingLoopy - the c-section hair removal thing seems to be another one of those areas where there is wildly differing practice in different areas. I had an EMCS with DC1 and there was absolutely no shaving done at all, let alone the whole area. We had to wait for repeat bloods to be done, so there would have been time to do it, should that have been suggested. I'd have refused consent for that, personally, as I've never had that done and I get terrible razor rash/ingrown hairs etc if I shave in delicate areas. My incision is just above my pubic hair line, so I can't see how shaving/removing hair any further down would be necessary! Maybe you could ask for more information about what your hospital would do in the event of a c-section? I'm fairly certain that these days there's no evidence that hair removal or not makes a difference to infection rates after c sections.

Thom80 · 16/06/2016 08:36

Good morning all,
I am still enjoying the hospitality of the NHS and will be until tomorrow when they come up with a plan. I am currently hooked up to a monitor listening.
kaytee & GX91 - hope that the symptom are ok and you start to feel better.

beautician - it sounds painful but something I would definitely do. Could an ice pack help?
julfin - the cold play concert sounds great fun. When I leave here I plan to do something fun before the baby arrives.
speak - I am pleased that your BP is down & you are out. You will be bank do soon to have the little one! I can't wait to see the pics.
vikki - hope that the BH are ok. It sounds like a few people have been experiencing some painful ones. I can't be comfortable.
cookies&coffee - I am really nervous that if the baby comes early I won't be able to vote. I am passionate about voting having worked in politics. I always vote & in this situation feel very nervous about the outcome.
goingloopy - I hope that the little one turns and you can have the water birth. When I can into hospital last week I hadn't waxed or done anything in weeks. I got a razor and just hacked at it!! I am having a c-section & didn't want to be shaved by a stranger. I can only imagine what it looks like!! One of my first jobs after getting out of her is to get it sorted.
Has anyone done much research into changing bags? I have been looking at the Tiba & Marl. Do you know if they are any good?
