Oh good luck to you jelly! I'm hoping to hear news about contracts being exchanged early this week. Last I heard on Friday morning was that our vendors were waiting to get their contracts back from the house they're buying before sending ours back - this was supposed to happen on Friday afternoon but didn't. We're only moving 1.5 miles away and we're paying for the removal company to pack for us the day before so that's good. At the moment the aim is for early November so I'm keeping everything crossed - I really don't want this dragging on any longer. It's been going on since March!

jellypi3 · 19/10/2015 09:32

oh wow yours has gone on a lot longer than ours! We put our offer in in July, so in the grand scheme of things it's not taken too long so far. But both us and our vendor have had our contracts signed for 3 weeks, our buyer should be ready to sign his this week, but we also have an additional two parties to deal with (my grandparents are moving in with us) and it's their buyer who is holding things up!

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 19/10/2015 09:44

House buying sounds like a nightmare! Hope they all get sorted for you ASAP.

Ordered some newborn pocket nappies from a company called Little Bloom on eBay yesterday, along with some bamboo liners. DBIL has said they'll happily take deliveries and post them on to the UK for us, in return he wants us to send proper English biscuits Grin but won't be ordering on USA sites till after Christmas when we can do a massive order.

DSis sent me a text with all the stuff she's bought so far, DH said we'll have to move to accommodate it all! She's really excited. She's 5 years younger than me so was a teen when DC1&2 were born so didn't have much interest in them, and she was in the throws of severe PND when DC3 was born (DNeph is 10 months older than DC3) so she said she's looking forward to being able to really enjoy this one.

Have been away all weekend so haven't caught up on the thread.....I've been having reoccurring thoughts that I've left the baby behind and it's really disturbing, is this normal?

MamaBerg · 19/10/2015 10:08

Morning all, hope we had a good weekend. We did a lot of clearing out of the moving boxes from what will become the nursery room. And went paint shopping, starting to get even more real now.

I'm a first timer to this pregnancy lark and I thought it was just me but since about 16 weeks (now 23) I have had this really bad pain right at the front of my pelvis every time I stand up and walk, or change position or generally try to move. The last few days I have also been getting pretty constant lower back pain even waking me up in the night (not that I was sleeping very well anyway).

I found a page about it on babycentre: www.babycentre.co.uk/a546492/pelvic-pain-spd
I know most of you probably know already but this is quite a revelation to me!! It all fits. So now I'm thinking should I call my midwife and ask her to refer me to a physio or wait 2 weeks till I see her? Will she even refer me?

Next question: recommendations for a support belt that will do the job and not cost a fortune? I've seen some on amazon for £15 will those work?

Sorry for the long rambling post but I need to get this pain under control!

monkerina · 19/10/2015 10:10

Morning everyone! Hope a good weekend was had by all. Also been thinking of some of the lovely mns we haven't heard from in a bit- hope Purdie, Brummie and Charlotte, among others, are doing well Smile

Calypso, I've woken up on at least 5 occasions over the past fortnight after having dreams that I've left the baby at home whilst I've gone to work 1 day post-partum (today's contribution), or left it in a daycare that closed down/I didn't know where it was, or it's turned into a baby-sized kitten that I was still breastfeeding(!), or on one occasion I'd had twins, totally forgotten to look after them, and one died- general theme is not paying enough attention to the child. I think hope it's natural to be expressing anxiety in the form of dreams but it's bloody terrifying!

clarabellski · 19/10/2015 10:12

Good morning everyone, another V-day here! Coinciding with DH being able to feel the kicks from the outside of the bump for the first time!

Mama it's likely different everywhere but my midwife said don't wait for next appointment, just self-refer to the physio if you start to experience unmanageable pain.

CalypsoLilt · 19/10/2015 10:15

monkerina this isn't dreams, it's happening when I'm awake, like driving to work thinking omg where's the baby? where have I left it? and then for a second or two I think I'm not pregnant any more..... it's really weird :(

Sighing · 19/10/2015 10:24

mamberg the (good, robust) support belts will certainly help keep your joints arounf the pelvis more firm when you are moving around - hopefully resulting in less discomfort at night. You might also want to consider if your mattress is too hard (add a topper) or too soft / if you can support your back with a bolster / wedge. Also: no heels, no uneven loads (bags on one side). It wont cure it (sorry), but you might get rid of the worst symptoms.

monkerina · 19/10/2015 11:43

Calypso, I reckon it's probably similar- you're just starting the next 18 years' worth of worrying early Grin you're going to be a fab mum!

Good luck to everyone moving/DIY-ing- we moved last year and have been doing the place up ever since. Have been using pregnancy as an excuse to put the improvement programme on hold, as the key rooms are done and the remaining rooms (living room, bathrooms, hall) are fine, if tired, and will just get puked on/wee-sprayed anyway Smile

MamaBerg · 19/10/2015 12:20

Good news. Rang the hospital physio fully expecting them to tell me to come back with a referral and they booked me straight in! Shock Offered me Thursday which I really can't do as I'm on a course at work but got next Tuesday morning.

CalypsoLilt · 19/10/2015 12:52

arrow my bro is in the states, do they have better brands or just cheaper prices?

monkerina I think you're right, but if it keeps up/gets worse I'm definitely talking to my GP/midwife given I'm prone to anxiety anyway

can't wait for Monday to end already, got a super busy week and I just want to go to bed :(

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 19/10/2015 13:13

Calypso Check out Green Mountain Diapers Cloth Eez - they're awesome! They have a lot of rave reviews on YouTube and seem to be the prefold of choice over there, and around $2-4 each, absolute bargains.

Rufus200 · 19/10/2015 14:13

I'm another in a lot of pain in hips and lower back. I'm struggling to do my stretching exercises anymore as bump is getting in the way. Waking up in the night in agony and have to get up and walk it off.

Having to wear a crop top under my pjs now as boobs are starting to sag as they have tripled in size. My sleep vests now don't cover my bump so I walk around with my whole bump exposed at night.

My eye is really painful and very angry still. Not happy using the drops but really need them. Thankfully I didn't damage my cornea and it is the white bit that I grazed. At least I can diagnose myself (cats and dogs get eye injuries all the time) just in a really awkward place for me to look at. Can't stand people fiddling with my eyes but have to get DH to examine it to make sure it isn't getting worse.

clarabellski · 19/10/2015 14:15

Yay mama, result!

CalypsoLilt · 19/10/2015 14:33

rufus have you checked out preggers yoga? it really helps me, even if its just youtube.

thanks arrow he's visiting at christmas, not sure how happy he'll be to have a suitcase full of nappies Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 19/10/2015 19:14

I had my physio appointment today, was really good. It's been diagnosed as a type of PGP (previously SPD) not sciatica, and they gave me one if the support belts- result!- and a length of tubi-grip to wear. Belt certainly made me feel more supported, plus we went through the exercises. Definitely worth it mama, and anyone else suffering.

Mine's made worse by previous back issues plus Ehlers D/hyper mobility. Physio was impressed with what I could do with my ankles and elbows! Best bit is the leaflet that essentially says let everyone else do everything Grin

OH got to feel DD kick for the first time last night too!

haquoi123 · 19/10/2015 20:15

That sounds awesome chinchilla! Great that they were able to help :)

Bubs has put on another growth spurt, I'm absolutely massive. Grew out of my coat today so need to head to a charity shop sharpish. I can also feel my stomach muscles ripping and he's really pressing outwards with his bum or head... So uncomfortable! And my back! I'm turning into a moaning minnie. DH and I had proper lovely sex this morning resulting in a bloody ending, so to the hospital with us for breakfast... Luckily everything's fine but the midwife had the cheek to (playfully) tell us off and tell us to behave ourselves from now on! A bit exhausted after that fright.

calypso I've had moments when I'm certain I'm carrying ds1 and not bubs, when awake and it's very disorientating. Also dreamed last night that bubs was born at 24 weeks and everyone else was holding him but me.

Ah, bring on tomorrow. Too tired for today!

That sounds good chinchilla . I have my physio appointment on Wednesday.

goneswimming · 19/10/2015 22:30

Does anyone have an recommendations for pregnancy yoga - YouTube or DVDs? Thinking I should work on a bit more strength and flexibility perhaps....

Rufus200 · 19/10/2015 23:39

haquoi hope you are ok

calypso no I've never done any yoga. Would appreciate any recommendations anyone has too

joleyn · 20/10/2015 08:14

I have a physio appt fFridaytoo. My left hip was killing me last night. Not helped by ds deciding that 4.45 was the time to get up this am - going to be a long day!

haquoi123 · 20/10/2015 08:14

Nothing like a sleep to make things better! Although a pirate ship mutuny, coup in a children's home and then trying to teach while breastfeeding my baby (who I then accidentally forgot in the room overnight) makes for interesting dreams!

How're you guys this morning?
rufus I've been told that that going for a short walk in good shoes will do wonders (not that I've taken that advice yet). Also think pregnancy yoga is a good option, although I haven't looked online at all.

till you've been fantastic about advice on nappies. I'm still pretty clueless despite doing loads of research. Can you recommend what I'd need for the first three months or so? I think I've got the rest covered. (I've also got a friend in the US so those are also available to me). Obv when you have time

OP posts:
jellypi3 · 20/10/2015 09:33

haqoi hope you are ok after your sex-scapades! Grin we've only DTD twice since bfp, i'm just not up for it!

i'm starting to think more about the birth now. I'm pretty good when it comes to dealing with pain, and so far have just kind of assumed it'll be fine but i think the fear is beginning to set in (at 25 bloody weeks) so i need to start researching to make myself aware of all that can happen! anyone else starting to think about it yet?

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 20/10/2015 09:52

I have a midwife appnt this morning. I'm dreading her checking for the heart beat even though I can feel the baby kicking now!! It just scares the fuck out of me! Do they check each time or just around the 16 week mark?

I've been having such disturbed sleep lately. I gave these stressful vivid dreams that wake me up and then if I can't feel the baby kicking I lay there focused on my bump willing him to kick. If he doesn't I end up tossing and turning trying to wake him up. I am a bloody loon.
