Due February 2016 - first timers

Sarah563 · 29/06/2015 07:56

Hello. I thought I'd start this discussion as the other Feb 16 discussion has morphed into stories of people's previous child birth experiences, and I thought a place for first timers could be useful.

I'm 6+3, due on 19 Feb. my morning sickness started with a bang 2 days ago! Felt like I had a terrible hangover; strong headache; just needed sleep. Was worried about taking paracetamol so bought some travel sickness bands, which seem to be doing the trick (even if I look like a tennis star).

Anybody else discovered any good remedies??

Hi wish, i'm in week 13 now and the nausea has definitely gone down. just the odd bit now and again. Still tired though....

monkerina · 05/08/2015 09:11

Lovely pic Spanoo Smile

Vomming and nausea pretty much disappeared for me when week 10 arrived- still faintly nauseous very occasionally, but almost gone. This of course means that I'm now wondering if there's still a bean there, and still waiting for the scan letter to come through at 11+3...

BlueKarou · 05/08/2015 11:38

Just going to sneak in here. I was on one of the Feb 16 threads, but they're all busy and fast-moving and terrifying!

I'm 12 weeks today, with my scan booked in for tomorrow, so hopefully I can add to this collection of fab scan pics (must remember to take some money to pay for the scan pics). I would much prefer to go on my own, but have caved and agreed my mum and sister can come with. Mainly because I'm going to put my foot down re: the 20 week scan, so this is me capitulating.

No MS so far, but my appetite has disappeared and there has been plenty of feeling queasy.

Hello,

I am new to mumsnet, I am due on the 29th February 2016 with my first baby. Wonder if my baby will come on the 29th be a leap year baby. Had my midwife appointment yesterday which went well. Also got my scan booked in for the 19th August which is two weeks away today, I cant wait so excited Smile.

xx

Spanoo · 05/08/2015 18:11

Thanks monk!
Welcome toni and blue. Toni we are similar in dates... A leap year baby would be very cool. Good luck with the scan blue!
My symptoms are very slowly getting better... Knackered in the afternoons and evenings though!

Hello - may I join?

I'm due either 21st/23rd Feb (different doctors have given me different dates). I've been on MN for aaaaaaages but had a year off, and thought now that I'm actually going to have a child it's probably a good idea to come back.

I've had RUBBISH morning sickness (morning? HA all day sickness) and I'm super hopeful that by the end of 12 weeks it will be gone (my DM said with all her pregnancies it stopped by the end of the first trimester - I live in hope). Also, I'm shattered all the time. I'm living for being able to tell work as then I will get access to the nap room.

clarabellski · 06/08/2015 15:54

Welcome Blue, Toni and Absy Brew

Absy your work has a nap room?!? Well jealous....i think tiredness seems to be the universal symptom amongst us all.

Absy · 06/08/2015 16:17

It's a large corporate. I've been angling to get in there for years, but it's only open to pregnant women. My moment has finally arrived ...

BlueKarou · 06/08/2015 16:49

Hi Absy. A nap room for pregnant women? I am so very jealous right now.

Had my scan today and have been bumped a day forward so my EDD is now 16/2 rather than the 17/2 it used to be. I quite liked the 17th, wriggly baby is clearly growing too fast!!!

KatyK1980 · 07/08/2015 11:41

Hi everyone! Hope I'm allowed to join....baby due 5/2/16. It's actually my second but my daughter is 14 and I really can't remember much of my first pregnancy so I feel like a first timer!! :-) xx

KatyButton · 10/08/2015 14:26

Welcome all the new recruits :) I'm now 16+1 and still feeling pretty nervous, not had anything go wrong at all but I still feel like I can't get too excited - anyone else feeling like this? Family have been buying us loads of things and making plans etc and it feels crazy - my husband is even angling to buy a pram - guess I'm just a born worrier! x

KatyButton · 10/08/2015 14:27

Sorry that should have read 15+1! x

KatyK1980 · 11/08/2015 10:09

Hi KatyButton! Yep , I feel happier having had the 12 week scan but still worry a lot! I need to stop looking on Google at things that can go wrong! I'm 14+4 :-) x

KatyButton · 11/08/2015 11:46

Glad it's not just me KatyK1980! I'm trying to stay off google because even when I see something in a magazine etc it sticks in my head! x

MaryEllen1 · 24/08/2015 11:06

Hey everyone! I'm 13+1 and due on the 28th Feb, am a first timer too and have been fairly lucky with symptoms, just my boobs which are incredibly sore still Shock

Tonideanna123 · 22/09/2015 15:36

Hello Everyone,

Hope im still aloud on here Im now 17 weeks pregnant and when I had my 12 week scan I found out that my baby is now due 02nd March 2016 was originally 29th February 2016.

I have been feeling baby move in the last week or so, tiny little flutters and bubbling sensations Smile. I cant wait till he/she properly kicks me so that my partner can feel it also. As we can feel the little bubbles and that but they cant bless them. It will be amazing.

I also cannot wait to have my 20week scan to find out if my little bump is a girl or boy Smile. Then I can go shopping for pink or blue stuff !! I really don't mind what baby is as long as he/she is healthy.

Take care everyone xx

KatyButton · 23/09/2015 17:52

Hi all, glad everything's going well for you all :) I had my 20 week scan a couple of weeks ago (slightly early - now 21+3) and all was well thank god! Found out we're expecting a boy so the buying of cute waistcoats and dungarees is in full swing! x
