Also Debz meant to say, with DS, the midwife told me he was on track to be close to if not over 10lb, (although she was only going off what she could feel, I didn't have a scan or anything) and he was only 7lb 15, I don't think they have any accurate ways of properly guessing the weight.

MAMB, I think it was Mygirl who asked about you bleeding, but, and I might make myself look very stupid here because I haven't got a clue, but I know they have things they can do to thin the blood, isn't there anything they do to try and thicken it up a bit, if that would stop the bleeding?

amyjade · 10/10/2006 17:17

Afternoon ladies.

Just had my 32.5 week growth scan baby weights 5lb 4oz already and is in a breech position which doesn't really matter as i'm having an elective C Section.
Again i'm sure i saw boys bits !! is it really obvious to see or could i have been looking at something else?

Started to buy a few bits for my hospital bag although i'v already done it twice before with Dd1 and 2 i always forget lip balm which i have desperatly needed both times so thanks for reminding me NJ.
One thing i will be leaving out is disposable pants!! I brought the large size with Dd2 and they looked hideous as they were miles to big.

Good luck to all of you. I wonder who will be the first and last to drop? I'm the last on the stats list as LO isn't due untill the 30th but baby is being delivered at 38 weeks so i won't be me.

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 17:24

AmyJade, going off my dates I am due 25th, but my scan date said 29th, and I was induced with DS due to going over, so it will probably me picking up the last one to go medal!

Jodypops · 10/10/2006 19:37

Well done to hopingcat for the lsit of every1, what a crew!!!

Kaybee, i'm from manurewa, south auckland - where u from?

i'm knackered after a crap day at work, only 3 more weeks of work to go, but who's counting!!!!

have had them shooting pains - they come and go all manner of twinges and twangs down there at the mo......

i never got my little red book until after dd was born, my health visitor delivered it off once my midwife had signed me off

i wish my capacity to stuff myself would diminish, im eating like a horse still and ginormous, gonna have to do something drastic like train for the marathon to lose this weight i reckon....

good luck on the sleeping front to every1

Hi guys, wow, so much to catch up on - again! I've had a really good day today, which makes a lovely change....

I had confirmation on Sat am that my request to change midwife has been approved and I met with my preferred choice this morning - she really is lovely, she confirmed that LO is head down and spine is front facing, a little to the RH side - I've been doing lots of sitting forward and have completely given up sitting on the sofa so think this has helped...hurrah for active positioning and hopefully LO will be good and stay there - is that a bit wishful at only 33 weeks?

Also, she's confident that I'll be released from obstetric care back to midwife at 36 weeks, which I need if i'm going to get any chance of a homebirth, so she's booked me a scan straight after my obstetrician appt on 6th Nov to check weight and positioning again...can't wait to see LO again .

The morning sickness is getting worse again, but she said it was normal between 32 and 34 weeks because the hormones that we had at the beginning are putting in an appearance again - might explain why some of you have mentioned being a bit tearful at the mo?

Someone was asking about Ranatidine / Zantac, I'm not sure what the max is but my prescription is 150mg twice a day...but they think i might have a stomach ulcer so not sure if that dose is normal?!

Also on the good side, they've closed the toilets on my floor in my office block for refurb and after throwing up in the kitchen sink and insisting HR clean it up I've been relocated to another of our offices - so instead of having a 37 mile drive each morning I now only have 12 miles to go! Yay! I've asked to be relocated there after maternity leave so this is a good opportunity for me to prove it can work...

Oh, and just to really make you all I've now lost all the weight I'd gained during pregnancy and am back to pre-pregnancy weight - so in theory, after LO arrives, I should be slimmer - however, in an valiant effort to reverse this, i'm going to finish off the vienetta..

Sorry for long post but its so lovely to be chirpy for a change!

Love to all,

Charleesunnysunsun · 11/10/2006 08:02

Hi sorry i haven't been around for a few days i have been having a 'rest' in hospital!
But don't get excited there's no babies yet

I had (and still do) have a bad headache for 4 days now, along with blurred vision and still got protine in my wee which has been there for nearly 2 weeks so they whipped me in in case i had pre eclampsea. They grudginly let me home yesterday night if i promised to have the midwife out daily to be monitored and i have to collect a 24hr wee sample so i have to carry around a big tank of wee luckily my blood pressures has been fine.

Anyway if it doesn't get better they will induce at 37 weeks if it gets worse they wil induce early if it clears up completley they will induce at 37 weeks anyway so looks like i may have a Holloween baby after all!

Hope everyones well

Debz99 · 11/10/2006 08:19

Glad to hear you are ok Charlie and look after yourself and put your feet up.

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 09:13

Morning everyone

What a horrible morning, it is thundering and lightening and of course still chucking it down and blowing a gale, we got up a bit late (only by 10 minutes or so, but it really shifted us out of our routine!) and then DS took an age to eat his breakfast, which normally goes down quicker than the Titantic, so that put us out even further. Anyway, we just made it into his clockroom before the bell went

Charlee!!! I had wondered where you had got to! Put your feet up, relax (as much as you can) and do as little as you can get away with! Never mind doctors orders, that is NJ's orders, now do as you're told!

I was joking with someone I 'know' yesterday on a thread, she was worried about her waters breaking in Morrisons, last night we went to Tesco to do the weekly shop, got half way round and the contractions started, by the time we had finished the shopping, even the checkout boy (must have been about 16!) was asking if I was OK, I have never been so embarressed in my whole life! How on earth do you explain to a 16 year old boy that although I am walking (or shuffling as DH put it!) as though I just got a horse, and I am sweating buckets, and I can hardly breathe through the pain, and I know I am trying to hold things that shouldn't be touched in public so I am holding just slightly higher than is making any difference anyway, that actually I am not in labour and that once that contraction is over I will be fine again?!!! Poor lad looked like he was would faint!! LOL

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 09:15

My god, please excuse spelling and grammer! Think I should read through my posts before posting them in future!! LOL

Debz99 · 11/10/2006 09:22

NJ how scarey ! Apparently if your waters do break in one of the "Big" stores you get loads of freebies for the first year ! Not sure if the embarrasment would out weigh the good stuff LOL My sister is insisting on whisking me off to Tesco or Asda when I go into labour

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 09:27

LOL Debz, that is exactly what we were talking about yesterday, I heard it was Sainsburys that gave you a years supply of nappies for free, and then someone came on and said she thought it was a urban ledgend, because she had heard it was Asda when she was pregnant! LOL

Debz99 · 11/10/2006 09:36

Maybe someone that works in one of these stores can advise, so we could all have a few visits to the store closer to our due dates LOL

staceym11 · 11/10/2006 09:40

hi everyone!

bethbe, well im not exactly decent enough to be in the swimming pool but dd loves it and iv given up caring anymore, brought some hair removal cream stuff last night as cant reach my legs anymore and look like a yeti!!!!

waiting for my tumble dryer to be delivered!!! have managed without one through summer but now its taking 3-4 days for my washing to dry, which just isnt practical!! so mum and dad have brought us one for 'xmas'! had to get a condenser one so i can have it in the living room as my kitchen is tiny and there is nowhere to put it!

NJ i get lots of contractions when walking anywher, going shopping or into town is real fun, dd doesnt understand why i keep stopping and its hard to explain to a 2 year old!

well still not sleeping and dd had a bad night last night too, which made it worse, gunna go into labour and be too exhausted to push this baby out!

one the notes side of things i do carry mine with me everywhere because i did lots of silly fainting things iv been so worried id collapse and someone would call an ambulance and i wouldnt have them with me......and im not having the baby at closest hospital either so that complicates things a bit!

You lot sure were chatty yesterday i could hardly catch up! gotta go into town later to sort a few things out, then gotta prepare myself for tutoring my cousin tomo, gunna be there every thurs till february i think, fun fun, but he needs it and im about the only one around with the knowledge to do it! and i get paid which is a bonus! also my auntie is a foster carer so dd will have toys to play with and we related so i will still be able to do it with a baby attatched to my boob!!!

right on that note i shall be off, gota tidy a bit to get this tumble in!

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 09:45

I worked at Tesco for a bit when I left school before my training started, there was never a mention of freebies for people who go into labour in there!

Stacey, I only seem to get the contractions either first thing in the morning, or in the evening, I get a few BH if I am walking about, but they don't hurt.

podglet · 11/10/2006 09:45

Morning all,

See now, I was told it was Boots where you got loads of free stuff if you went into labour there. If my waters break in public, people will be running for cover with the amount of fluid I have!

Charlee - lots of get well hugs and take it easy, I sencond NJ's orders to put your feet up (can't be easy with your DS but do try)

Think my bump has dropped a bit - seems to be much more room between my boobs and my bump! Breathing seems to have eased as well, thank goodness!

Calsworld - how lovely to hear a chirpy person - hope you are doing ok and the office move is working well

Hi to the other newbies, you were all so chatty yesterday that I can't catch up again so hope everyone is well.

Debz99 · 11/10/2006 09:55

I'm sitting at my desk at work in pain ladies ! I have been getting sharp pains in the left hand side of my tummy quite low down, hoping its nothing can't "do" labour yet got too much to do and organise !!!

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 10:27

Debz, get some water and walk it off (if you can!)
Mygirl, ouch! I had forgotten about all of the fat lips and nose bleeds that come with toddlerhood....

There is a really nasty storm out there, DS doesn't mind the thunder at all, he loves looking for a rainbow when it is finished, but he has never been away from me when there is a storm before, and I can imagine all of the other kids running around screaming because of the thunder, I want my little boy back home with me

Debz99 · 11/10/2006 10:29

NJ it seems to have stopped but will keep an eye on it, not really had braxton hicks so not sure what that was but glad it has eased off for now !

staceym11 · 11/10/2006 10:30

oh nj, can only imagine, must be nice for some peace and quiet tho, iv spent so long getting dd to talk and now she just wont shut up! (not that i mind generally, but to have 2 minutes when im not being asked a question or told to go away or whinged at would be lovely!!)

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 10:34

Stacey, the peace and quiet is lovely, TBH!! I really missed him when he first started, but I have gotten used to being on my own again now, and come Sunday evening I can't wait for him to get back to school, and DH to sod off back to work! LOL

But right now, I want him here.

Debz, glad it has eased off

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 10:39

Oh god, now it is hailing, if those nasty horrible children scare my little boy I am going to be very pissed off!!! LOL

staceym11 · 11/10/2006 10:42

lol, sure he'll be fine NJ...he'll prob just laugh at them for being silly!

my dd however is now petrified of spiders after a visit to MIL's the other day when BIL (12) decided to try and frigten her and say 'look theres a spider' in a scary voice every time she went in the front room........and its taken so long for her to be ok with them, am very about this and dh will be having 'a word'. how mean of a 12 year old to torment a little 2 year old like this (as you can see i dont get on with BIL much) dont really appriciate the 'yeah but you're so fat' comments either....er no im 8 months pregnant you stupid f*ck (sorry language!)

staceym11 · 11/10/2006 10:43

oh and NJ soem of your cleaning enthusiasm must have rubbed off on me yesterday as started clearing bedroom out (and all crap out of the moses basket) and the hallway, and the cupboard!

still havnt managed my washing up tho not that dh thinks of doing it either!!!

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 10:45

Tell him you will sit on his PS2 or XBOX or whatever, he will soon shut up!! LOL God I'm an old meany today aren't I?!
