mygirllolipop, I'm so glad that I'm not alone in feeling the same way you do. I had a huge headache last week which GP was probably a migraine due to the hormones. Now I have a bit of a cold and feel this pressure right behind both ears, like somebody is squeezing my head in a vice. Have a check up with GP tomorrow so just trying to take it easy....but difficult as I made the biggest mess of trying to go through baby clothes yesterday and now I have no where to put things. What I would really like to do is sit down and have a good cry. I'm starting to get lots of pain in my pelvis - but only when I try standing up or moving about a lot. I really want to get so much done but feel like I can achieve much as my body won't let me. Argh!!

Hi everyone, I've been reading this thread, and have decided to join up..

My name's Danielle, I live in Swindon and am pregnant with 1st baby due Nov 8th, so scarily close now! I am with you all on the aches and pains, my main concerns are such increadibly hot swollen feet, (at night I have a fan focused on my feet) weird shooting pains, unsure whether they are BH as BH (the book says) aren't supposed to be painful. Not suffered from indigestion but I do have some reflux, I am hoping nothing can be as bad as it was in 1st trimester for me, 6 weeks of solid can't get out of bed or even move sickness!!

Started packing the old hospital bag, strange to think you go to hosp with a huge belly and come home with a baby.

So I'll catch up again later as I have to pop into town..

4 weeks til D-day ! Arrrggh .... Got my growth and presentation scan tomorrow so another chance to see LO. Consultant could not feel which way LO was laying , however the midwife has found him on the last 2 visit so .... I don't mind as I say it's another chance for me to see Lo again.

SPD is getting quite bad especially at night in bed, having real trouble turning over in bed, I know it may sound dramatic but I sometimes feel paralysed and have to really concentrate on moving legs !

Keep bursting into tears too !

Had last ante-natal class on Saturday all to do with breast feeding very interesting DP loved it LOL ! Midwife had a hissy fit when she found out I was not leaving work until a week before D Day!

Welcome newbies, sorry you have all been chatting too much for me to reply was only away Friday LOL !

NatalieJane · 09/10/2006 15:42

Welcome Welshgal It is lovely to still be getting newbies joining!

I know we are all feeling a bit... well, heavily pregnant (!!!) but I think we should really be thanking our lucky stars, we have all got what seem to be perfectly healthy little babies growing, we have all come through the danger zone for premies, I know the longer they stay in the better, but we are through the barrier now, and aside from the normal risks with labour and/or CS's, I think we, and most importantly the babies, are all healthy. I think if my guesstimates are right, in another 10 weeks time, we should all be mums, obviously some will be a long time before that, but most of us waited longer than that to get that BFP in the first place!!

And on a completely different note, I am feeling quite poorly today, I think my bodily functions have decided to give up! Sorry for TMI, but I don't know where stuff is going to come out from first - the top end or the bottom end, or if it is going to be all or nothing if you get my drift?!! LOL Lovely, ahhh the joys...!! Also had some pretty strong contractions again, and have a constant pressure 'down there', perhaps I should make an appointment to see the midwife a bit sooner than 36 weeks (3 weeks away), I am starting to feel like I could do with some reassurance, but at the same time, I don't want to kick it all off and be having to be back and forth from the doctors every couple of weeks, not just yet at least!

Welshgal · 09/10/2006 16:17

I am now on annual leave then mat leave so have been lucky to have some time to get things sorted before baby due date.

Anyone else as crazy as me? Ages ago we decided to put house on market and in late August we had an offer which is still going through, I heard this morning from solicitors that our byers are hoping for a completion date of the week of 23rd October. (Baby due Nov 8th) we are looking at renting for a month then hopng to complete on a house we are hoping to buy as there seems no chance of tying the sale and purchase together and we definatly don't want to lose our buyers. Am I completly nuts, I think I am...

NatalieJane · 09/10/2006 17:30

Cor blimey woman!! I couldn't even begin to imagine how completely crazy it would make me, if I thought even for a second we would have to move house - twice - with a baby!!! Very very very brave of you!!!!

I am feeling a bit better - thank goodness, but DH has rang, he is going to be mega late home tonight. Just me, DS and the telly I think

Mummy2Toby · 09/10/2006 19:19

Hi everyone, welcome welshgal
NJ I hope that you feel a bit better, try to get some rest - easier said than done I know, I can't seem to stop at the moment! I have been tidying the house for what seems like forever, packed my hospital bag and finally finished ds's "big boys" bedroom, so am feeling a bit better about all of that now
I had madwives appt today and all seems fine - they now want to see me every week as I am 37 weeks now and d-day is approaching - oh the joys
I have also managed to find the double buggy that I wanted here in the uk and it is over half the price of the one I was looking at (it is 5 months old already, but hey, beggers can't be choosers) It should be with me by next wednesday when I will be 38+2 I hope it gets here in time. Anyway must dash - ds needs to get to bed! Take Care all

Jodypops · 09/10/2006 20:02

hi everyone, i'm new to mumsnet, i'm jo, due 10th of nov, baby number two and we live in peckham, london. i'm originally from nz but been here 12 years, (on and off). 1st dd is 18 months end of oct so i'm knackered running about after her and still working 3 days a week. hate to say it but i did feel better reading about all your aches and pains, only in the sense that i'm not the only moaning, groaning, in pain and can't sleep pregnant person out there. i feel like someone has pulled my legs open and been whalloping me bits with a piece of four by two solidly for an hour or two, what's all that about??? never had that with my first. this one's a boy, bloody men....... speaking of doesn't help that dp is away a lot working, makes for stressful days, and the tears....my god, never had this with my first neither, don't watch the x factor - it's a fatal blubfest.

good luck every1 and nice to meet you all xox

Hi Jody, i am originally from nz too whereabouts are you from??

Welshgal · 09/10/2006 20:28

Thanks for all your welcomes, I have just eaten dinner and wanted to ask whether any of you are also finding that you just do not have room in your stomachs? I have only just managed to eat some soup, no room at all...

CattyB · 09/10/2006 21:51

Hello, Hope all is well with you all - welcome if you're a newby.

Well went for presentation scan today and babes is most def breech - but no identifiable probs as to why so hopefully smidge will turn. Spoke with the Dr - 1st one I've seen this pg - and he offered to do external cephalic version (ECV) ie try to manually turn the baby. So got that booked for a week Wed (I'll be 38+5) so fingers crossed that if all else fails that will work.

My tum is also at that stage of reduced capacity - although my head hasn't accepted that

MeAndMyBoy · 09/10/2006 22:20

Evening all, welcome to the new ladies - there is a stats thread knocking around lower down feel free to add yourselves .

Did far too much today with far to little food and ended up feeling fairly crap and awful this evening, very sick and dizzy feeling. Feeling better after having eaten but still need more food, but as you've already pointed out the stomach capacity has been severally reduced, there for my shakes are doing a fab job lol.

Right off to bed was up at 6 this morning for some stupid reason.

Night H x

staceym11 · 10/10/2006 00:24

hi everyone, another late night entry for me, im so tired and just can not sleep! wish i could take sleeping tablets, need some rest!!!!!

welcome to our newbies......so nice to know our moaning cheers some people up!!!

managed to get little madam to toddlers this morning and all the mums seem to reckon i look really well for only having 5 weeks left (well i dont bloody feel it!!!) probably going to attempt swimming tomo, hopefully will knacker myself out enough to sleep tomo night, doubt il be in bed much before 3 tonight!

anyone with lots of energy want to come and tidy my flat for me?? i have some energy (despite being knackered) but just dont have the enthusiasm to acctually do anything! lol....well all the baby stuff is sorted, just theres some clutter around id rather not have (not that i have a lot of storage space) and i need to do the washing up (never have the enthusiasm for that!!) right, am going to watch stupid tv and hopefully sleep on the sofa (find sleeping in the bed stressful as i worry il wake dh up!)

CattyB · 10/10/2006 07:56

Morning all. Beautiful day here too bad I have to rush around getting boys ready for school and nursery but then today is my childfree day with no kids from 9-2:45 - hurrah! (Not that I don't love them to bits its just nice to get a wee break)

Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble sleeping Stacey - hopefully the excitment of late night telly put you to sleep fairly pronto! Sleep not too badly last night and every time I was awake in the night I took some pulsitilla (meant to help breechs turn) so fully dosed up this morning (but just as well you can't really overdose)!!

Got a fairly nice day planned - housework to do (as ever) but other than that I'll maybe do some knitting - still never finished that wee cardi I started months ago, crawling about (to encourage smidge to turn) and generally taking it easy while I can

Hope you all have a good day x

MommyUpNorth · 10/10/2006 08:01

Morning everyone! I'm not really new to the thread, but haven't been keeping up properly. I'm trying to finish up working, but things just keep getting in the way, so no hope for the moment!

Anyway, a question for you... what is everyone using for a first bed? We sold our moses basket after our 3rd child as we didn't really get any use from it, but I'm not sure that I really want to put up the big cot for a tiny newborn. For the most part he/she will sleep with us at night, but I'm thinking for in the daytime. I'm actually thinking that some of the travel cots look ok and would be great for moving about the house to wherever we're going to be (gotta keep an eye on 3 other children too!).

Or is anyone using one of those bedside cribs? Or something else entirely!

Now today I must get started on my hospital bag as up until this week we were going to have a homebirth, but our hospital no longer has any blood supplies, so the trip into the hospital and then onto another one doesn't fill me with joy... so they've agreed to a 'homebirth' in the hospital which will be interesting. I'll still have the rota of the midwives who would do the homebirth, plus a private room for me & DH, and then will be discharged as soon as I'm ready after the baby is born... provided no problems. Oh and no fetal monitors in the room... I requested not to be strapped to a bed! Sounds like an ok deal so far, so here's hoping it all goes to plan.

Debz99 · 10/10/2006 08:52

Morning ladies,

Off for my scan at 10 can't wait, and anxious all at the same time LOL ! Hope you are all keeping well. Struggling with the SPD mainly at night waking up to turn over and being in agony when I try.

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 09:14

Morning all

Had some pretty strong contractions again last night, they got to about 8-10 minutes apart and then fizzled out, I don't know if I should be still a bit a worried that he is seeming to be making his move already (33+4 today) or excited that he is getting ready, or just plain miserable because this could go on for another 9 weeks!! Got DH all worried though, it was the first time I had let on to him just how painfull they get - not that I had much choice, it is hard to act normally when someone is trying to get out of your body!! Still wondering what to do about the midwife, I really don't want to start the wheels in motion for going every couple of weeks yet, but then at the same time, I don't even know what to do if I go into labour, where to go or who I ring or whatever...

Mummyupnorth, for night time at first we have bought a travel cot that has a basinette level in it, it is the Graco Contour Deluxe (or something like that!!) it was about £100 but it has some really good fancy gadgetry stuff on it! And for the day time, we have a play pen that has a base that be at one of three levels, so we have put it on the highest level, and it also has a quilty insert thing that will be fine for him to sleep on in the day, also have a swing and rocker chair thing, and also the carrycot thing for his pushchair, TBH DS used to just sleep on the sofa, until he started rolling around!

Welcome to Jody,

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 09:15

Sorry Debz, x posted, good luck for the scan - how exciting!!

Have a great scan Debz. It will be so good seeing your LO again. It is a long time to wait from a 20 week scan to meet your baby 20 weeks later.

Anyone started on anything that's meant to ripen the cervix ready for labour? Pineapple, RLT, curry or anything else? I've been trying to walk a bit more this week in the hope that the gravity will help LO to engage a bit. Did try RLT, but found it wasn't nice enough to be drinking every day.

I'm going to have a look for our stats list now and put new people on. I can't keep up, brain not in gear anymore.

Debz99 · 10/10/2006 09:20

NJ on your notes that the midwife insists you carry everywhere (Yeah right) ! I have a list of numbers on the front to call. Labour Suite, Midwife Liason etc etc do you not have this?

And thanks for the good luck message!

HopingCat · 10/10/2006 09:21

NJ - I personally would book to see midwife. You aren't adding many more appointments really as you'll be expected to go every week or 2 soon anyway. I'm on weekly ones now so you can't be too far behind. If you see midwife now you will at least have up to date notes to take to hospital in the event that you did go into labour early.

Debz99 · 10/10/2006 09:29

Sorry I must ask ... maybe too much information but for the last couple of days and more so this morning I am getting a shooting pain (not extremely painful) down below anyone else getting this?
