Dont feel hot but am still in t- shirts and flip flops but gather this is quite normal for PG ladies. No stinging, smells of strong wee ! Drinking a mixture of things water mainly at work with the odd coffee thrown in for caffine purposes and diet soft drinks. Will give the tons of water a go and see what happens.

morning everyone!

great news FHLH, so glad everything is ok!

midwives went fine yesterday, lo ok except heartbeat hard to get as he had hiccups, little bugger! lol

measuring a week over dates now rather than under, what a load of rubbish their mesauring system is!! midwife did say that she guesses he'll be 7lb 3.5 ounces! lol, dd was 6lb 14 so i dont mind too much, i thought that he'd be around 7lb 5oz!

dotn get too stressed about ebay NJ i know its a bugger but you dotn need to be stressed out in your condition! lol

right, now its my turn to do some housework, you've all inspired me, i think!

Debz99 · 05/10/2006 14:30

stacey you must be on a different clock to everyone else !!! Good Afternoon !

saralou100 · 05/10/2006 14:34

she's on the same clock as me..... i believed her good morning.. when nj was having lunch, i'd just had breakfast!

given up on paperwork, i've done 2 thats enough for today!!

i've nagged dp into doing housework! how clever am i!! clean house, no effort!

NatalieJane · 05/10/2006 15:28

I have excelled myself, finished our bedroom, got DS's bedroom cleared up, and changed his bed, sorted out all of his make and do stuff (which was absolutely everywhere!) cleaned his furniture, skirting boards and window, and I have polished around in the babies room (and played with some of the things!! ) it didn't really need anything doing in there, I just love the smell of all the baby lotions and stuff!! LOL

I am off to tackle the bathroom, which is covered in not only two whole weeks of dirt (can you believe I haven't cleaned it for two whole weeks? !!) and it is also full of paint, paint brushes, rollers and tray etc. and since we got back from mums at the weekend all of the toiletries have just been dumped on the side next to the basin, so it will take me a while!!!

Glad M/W went well Stacey

saralou100 · 05/10/2006 15:50

nj - stop showing off!! lol

Debz im not sure if anyone else has said but Cranberry Juice is the best thing for infections it clears the bladder out.

When i had my bladder infection i had back ache but all they did was a dip test in a urine sample and mine tested high for blood and protien. Your midwife should have picked up on anything but if your worried see someone its best to get it check but deffo recomend cranberry juice.

CattyB · 05/10/2006 21:45

So much chat - really too hard to catch up - apologies.

DH is away tonight (London on business). I'm worried about smidge who still seems to be breech (saw MW today) - I'm 37 weeks tomorrow. Going for a scan on Monday which I'd rather not do (don't like the idea of scans) but guess we need to check which way round it is and if it is breech see if there's a reason.

Part of me thinks that having had 3 lovely home births I should be grateful and accept that 3 out of 4 is pretty good going but I'd hate to have to go into hospital for this one. There is no way I'd consent to an elective c/section - need to be able to drive and look after and pick up DS3 (although he is finally walking at the grand old age of 15 months) but know the culture at the maty hospital is very medically based and I'd have a hard struggle convincing everyone to keep their hands in their pockets and letting the baby birth itself instead of rushing me along to theatre.

Sorry for the rant guys but feeling really weepy tonight.

MeAndMyBoy · 05/10/2006 23:45

FHGL - very of you getting so much christmas shopping done already . Have started but only done dribs and drabs and have a couple of birthdays I need to sort out sooner than christmas. Oh and get the baby stuff sorted of course.

CattyB - don't usually do hugs but sending you a hug tonight. I understand how you feel I was and still am upset about how much intervention I am going to have to accept this time round and it's only fairly minimal in the overal picture but still stuff I'd rather not have to do. Hope that the scan is a positive note. I guess you are trying all the techniques for helping the baby turn - opening your pelvis by sitting across a chair or on your birthing ball, sitting on hands and knees etc?

CattyB · 05/10/2006 23:56

Thanks - trying it all but open to all suggestions on getting babes to turn.
What intervention you having?

Morning everyone

Well, I got the whole of the upstairs de-cluttered and cleaned yesterday, I think it was deffo the most productive day since conception!!! LOL I am aiming for the downstairs today, so again if I appear too many times, or for too long, kick me off please

Catty sorry things aren't going your way, it is such a hard thing to get your head around when you have it so firmly fixed, especially, I should imagine, because it sounds like your other births went straight forward. I can't really help with the getting the baby to move thing, but have seen on Discovery a few times where doctors have manipulated the baby into the right position, it doesn't look like much fun, but could lead to the home birth you want? Good luck

FHLH, I love christmas shopping, I have started with some very small stocking filler type things for DS, but nothing much else. I suppose I should get started at some point, maybe at the end of this month I will start.

Is anyone else finding it impossible to turn over at night? I don't mean just achy, I mean absolutely impossible to roll straight over? I have had it for a few weeks now, but last night I was in agony just trying to turn, I am having to sit up and literally pick myself up off the bed with my arms and shift my bum across in mid-air, is there anything I can do to stop myself getting stuck?

Kaybee7777 · 06/10/2006 10:33

NJ - I am having the same problem rolling over in bed. It's absolute agony, and by the time I manage it I am wide awake and can't get back to sleep

Is anyone else who previously had no SPD type symptoms now starting to get aching in their groin-y area when walking?? It's only just started happening to me in the last week or so.....

fatbetty · 06/10/2006 10:49

I'm in the same boat with rolling over in bed or just even getting up out of bed! Is it SPD? I assume that you can't do much about it, or am I wrong?

NJ, I'm jealous of all your energy! Wish I could get motivated and get things done. When I do finally get motivated, I end up over doing it and my back hurts and can barely walk. DH is home at the moment but he is sick with the Mumps (believe it or not!!). Hopefully this weekend I can get a few things done. Feel like I'm running out of time!

Can't believe you are Christmas shopping too! Although last night I almost started addressing my Christmas cards but thought it might be way too early for that. It's not even Halloween!!

Have you guys decided on names yet for your LO? I can't find any names I like for a girl which I never thought I would have this problem. DH like Madeleine but just not sure. Any advice or ideas?

FB I am the same, can't seem to find the energy to put a load of washing on most days, but once I have got my mind set on doing something (like yesterday in our bedroom) I can't stop!

I don't know about SPD, with DS I did have what I now believe to be mild SPD, but at the time I didn't even mention it to the midwife, I just assumed it was a normal pregnancy complaint. This time, quite early on I started with the same sort of pains, which is when I realised that actually that amount of pain isn't right, but it did ease a bit, I haven't been able to lift one leg off the floor (to put trousers/knickers on) or if I have been sat still for too long, I find it very painful to get going again since the pains first started, but it has only been the last 2-3 weeks - in fact thinking about it, more or less the same time that LO seemed to drop down into my pelvis, since then one hip always feels like it could almost give way at any time, or it feels like it needs to 'click' back into place, and at night I just can't move, it is as though my bones just won't let me move my leg forward enough to tip the rest of me over enough to move, if that makes any sense whatsoever!!!

FB, we know ours is a boy and have decided on George, can't think of a middle name to go with it yet, but if we had have had a girl she would have been Maia this time, if DS had have been a girl she would have been Jai, there are lots of very pretty girls names around, have you got any names books or checked out the websites with names listed?

CattyB · 06/10/2006 11:08

Sorry you're not so well today MGL - hopefully it will pass quickly and not have you laid up.

Been finding turning in bed really sore for ages. Every time I attempt to turn I wake up - the pain is mostly in my hips. I went for some accupuncture on Tuesday and it def helped - Tuesday night I went to bed far too late but did sleep realatively pain free! Unfortunately pain is back in my hips today making me walk like an old woman - just as well I have the buggy to push ie support myself on. Having said that it usually wears off as the day goes on or until I lie down again.

Had loads of energy the other day and got loads of housework done - too bad it only lasts for about 30 seconds. Really need to start doing my baby washing so that LO has clean clothes.

Will start a thread on getting baby to turn - fingers crossed x

CattyB · 06/10/2006 11:19

On the names thing we're not any further forward either. My boys have all got good strong Scotttish names and nned a strong name to go with them. I like Douglas(Doug/Dougie) and Donald (Donnie) but would prefer for the boys to not have the same initial initial. DS1 is Duncan.

Girls names wise I love flower names like Daisy and Rosie and cutesy names like Molly. If this is a girl I like Maisy or Mairi but still to convince DH! I really like Madeline. Alot depends on surnames and possible shortenings and of course what rhymes in terms of playground teasing.

Delia · 06/10/2006 11:40

hi girls, back from the hospital now just had my scan and everything is fine, placenta has moved. Baby lying back to back so hopefully will have a wriggle and turn round soon. am now really exited as know that baby is really healthy and there would'nt be any problems if it decided to come tomorrow!

martinemorris · 06/10/2006 11:42

Hello everyone,

I?m new on here but wanted to say how much it makes me smile knowing im not alone with all the aches and pains im feeling.

Im due on 25th November and will probably be working up to the day before, although im going to give up commuting in a few weeks.

Have my NCT classes tomorrow and next Saturday which are 6 hours a go!!!! What on earth can they tell me that will last 6 hours.

Also just found out that I might have to have a caesarean as the baby and his/her head is so big!! Im actually quite upset about this as I wanted to get back to running and playing netball ASAP!! But I just want to make sure I do what?s best for the baby and me!!

Anyway ?HAPPY FRIDAY? to you all.

CattyB · 06/10/2006 11:48

Hello and welcome. Sorry to hear you may need a c/section - how come you know your LO's head is so big? Bear in mind that most woman don't grow babies so big they can't birth them (unless you and very petite and your DP is huge!). Is this your 1st? There's a stats list somewhere including our own estimates for birthdays and weights.

harrogatemum · 06/10/2006 11:53

Hello ladies - long time no speak. I have been in HOSPITAL for 4 nights on the antenatal ward, can you believe it!

I had agonising pains on Sunday and went in - they monitored me and found I was having contractions so gave me drugs to stop them and injections to mature the baby's lungs. They had me on a drip for fluid and antibiotics for three days as I had a raging temp, but despite taking three lots of blood couldnt work out what the infection was that had made me sick and made me contract. ~What a nightmare. Anyway am home again now and trying to take it easy - not simple as DH starts a new job in London on MOnday (we live in yorkshire.........). 33 weeks today and now wondering if this means baby will be early........

martinemorris · 06/10/2006 11:55

Ive had 5 scans so far with another booked in 3 weeks. All of the sizes from teh scans have shown the measurements are above the 95th centile, and the head size is off the scale!!!

Neither me or my husband are small or big, he is 5'11 and im 5'10.. Very strange. We were both only 6lb babies too!!

Not too worried though as the baby has to come out some how!!
