A few babies have already arrived, with more due to make their entrance soon, and it's not even September yet!

Aw congratulations Pies! Another boy to add to the list Smile
Ella, I'd wondered with your symptoms about migraines as I had similar visual disturbances before migraine in the past. All tied in with hormones so makes sense you'd be susceptible at late stage of pregnancy. I'll be in the Ulster on Thursday - don't think you're there though as our GD clinics are on different days. Induction buddies though! Wink

DizzyKipper · 05/09/2014 06:53

Congratulations Pies! Enjoy your LO Smile

I'm getting a bit worried that I'm possibly leaking amniotic fluid very, very slowly. My pants keep getting a bit damp. Though I'm also thinking that I'm just being stupid and it's really slight leakage/sweat (though doesn't smell of urine sorry tmi). I had a 'pop' sound a week ago and I'd thought it might've been my waters going then but had figured not as there wasn't any obvious water leakage, now I'm getting myself worked up thinking it might have been after all. Going to phone my midwife about 8.30 and see what she says.

TeamEponine · 05/09/2014 07:19

Congrats Pies!

I have a quick question on monitoring foetal movements for you wonderful people Grin. Baby was a bit on the quiet side yesterday, so DH and I thought I should keep track of movements today. I know we are supposed to feel about ten moves a day, but what counts as a movement? This morning, whilst lying in bed reading MN and avoiding getting up for work baby did move a bit. There was about four light but distict movements around where her head and feet are, then about 5-10 minutes later, another couple of squirms. So, was this one "episode" of movements, two "episodes" or do I count it as the six or seven distinct movements that I felt?

I'm so confused. Baby certainly seemed a bit less active yesterday, but then again I had a horrid, busy and stressful day at work where I was constantly trying not to cry! And I know that whenever I'm busy baby moves less, or maybe I notice her moving less. Usually she is most active after dinner, when I relax in front of the TV, but last night she was on the quiet side, although she was squirming a little, and did have an activity burst when I went to bed.

Over the past few days I've been so hormonal, I'm starting to doubt my own sanity and judgement! Am I worrying over nothing?!

cookielove · 05/09/2014 07:25

Congratulations pies

ella how long did they take to heal? (Owwww)

Marjal12 · 05/09/2014 07:30

There's a site called count the kicks that might be helpful to you Team. I was exactly the same this morning - baby much quieter yesterday but had felt distinct movements in morning, afternoon and evening. As I was thinking about how long to leave it before I phoned midwives, it started squirming around for about half an hour. So, reassured it's ok. I think general rule is that babies do get a bit quieter in run up to labour, plus they've less room. But if you are at all worried, just phone your midwives or hospital.

Marjal12 · 05/09/2014 07:42

Just had a read of count the kicks myself as a reminder - all about knowing how your baby moves, when, and how often and noting a pattern. Any change, advice is to phone midwife. But being busy, stressed, dehydrated or fasting can all mean that mum doesn't notice movement as much, so take that into account too.

lucidlady · 05/09/2014 09:17

Due date today and no signs of any activity Angry DD turned up a day early so was hoping this one would follow her example but no. Sigh.

For those who are worried about movement please call your midwife. I have been getting twice weekly monitoring for the past 6 weeks due to episodes of reduced movement and they really would rather check you out and be sure everything is ok.

velvetlilithi · 05/09/2014 10:22

Congratulation iate! You joined the club of mummies!!

I had my 37wks apptm with mw yesterday. Was reassured baby stays head down, so yipeeee! Also he caught up all the growth so now we're spot on. And mw was amazed how much my uterus contracts and when I told her it's all the time like that. Think it won't be long till my boy decides to come out Smile.. Maybe I'm just hoping, who knows.

On the other side, I had very low blood pressure and iron levels dropped a lot from last blood test, so starting on iron tablets from Tuesday or so. Baby really is squeezing everything from me Grin.

I'm starting to be soo fed up by no sleep at night from constant pains and turning, couldn't sleep from 3am or so.

Eviction will start next week, after some furniture is delivered and assembled (that might help to bring on labour). And still waiting for my TENS machine to be delivered Sad, should be here on Tuesday.

Hope everyone is okay and surviving the last annoying weeks Flowers

Topsyloulou · 05/09/2014 10:31

Congratulations Iate. Hope you and baby pies are doing well.

39 weeks today. Got excited that things were starting to happen yesterday, tightenings all day & then period pains whilst I was out for dinner but once I got home everything stopped again Hmm. Fingers crossed next time it happens it will develop into labour.

polkadotdelight · 05/09/2014 10:53

Congratulations pies!

lilone1234 · 05/09/2014 11:18

topsy It's such a pain isn't it - getting excited at every twinge! There is meant to be another full moon next Tuesday, remember what that did last time!

Congrats pies!

Hi lilone I don't remember if I updated here but at yesterdays growth scan they decided I wasn't having a huge baby after all so I'm waiting to go naturally now (and the sooner the better!).

Congrats Pies! xx

Just back from midwife (am 38+2). Baby is no more engaged than she was a fortnight ago. A bit gutted as I had a headache since yesterday (exactly the same as I used to get a day or two before my period started, which made me wonder if something was starting) and some period type pains but no, seemingly baby is not about to do anything. I mentioned headache etc to midwife just because I know it can sometimes be a symptom of pre-eclampsia but blood pressure and urine test all fine so must just be one of those things. She remains on about the 80th centile line for size so I really, really, really don't want to go overdue or she's going to be huge. I'm going to give her until after the weekend so that me and DH can enjoy the weekend together (was a bit miffed last weekend that all my plans for a nice weekend together were ruined by loads of other things going on) and then project eviction is starting in earnest.

polkadotdelight · 05/09/2014 12:22

kitkat sometimes they don't engage until labour (I'm 'at brim' so not really engaged either and we have same due date). Despite no longer being a baby elephant this baby is on 87th centile so I'm bricking it about going over too - let me know what eviction techniques you try!

CumbrianExile · 05/09/2014 12:31

Ella I have also cleaned my living room today - the thing is, once it gets cleaned it just gets messed up again! Especially by DP. I swear he just produces crumbs from nowhere! And he never wipes his feet when he comes in. He's just told me he had 3 pints at lunch with his boss too. There is no such thing as equal parenting!!!!!

(Am going a bit mad)
