Just didn't see the point woodland. Had them all 18 months ago with ds and they can check my iron and antibodies at 28 weeks

Walking around Tesco yesterday afternoon and started getting boob pains. Other than slight nausea this is the first 'symptom' I've had. Anyone else having this sort of pain? Or noticed they're getting bigger? My boyfriend and I definitely think mine are. Grin

Morning all,

Insomnia last night was awful, it must bring on paranoia because I managed to convince myself that my itchy legs meant all sorts of horrible things were wrong with me and baby, that my OH is obviously the worst bf ever because he snores, and that I will suck at my new job - so bizarre!

This morning had a call from the docs that I need to discuss my results with the GP (I am NOT panicking about this....much)

Apart from that it's a good morning with no sickness but loads of work to do (after a quick mn catchup ofc)

Oh exciting news Chat looking forward to following twin progress.

Glad I'm not in a hot Sydney Surf taking a shower makes me barf as the room gets all hot and humid. I usually love the summer but am looking forward to winter now.

Last night was my first night of bad sleep, hoping that doesn't make the evil MS worse today.

Wishing everyone a nausea and sickness free day.

What results are these mad?

Yes to growing boob pain! Mine were like saggy spaniel ears right when I finished feeding ds, now they are perking up again!

They are the blood test results from my booking in on Monday (also worried because it's quite a quick turn around for blood results :S)

Northdown Grin

There is a vague history of twins - my great-grandmother had preterm twins in 1928 - she needed an emergency section for appendicitis, and sadly neither survived the night. I have just the one DD at home, 2.11 - her nose is going to be put right out of joint by this!

Mad - hopefully you're just a bit anaemic, a blood count is turned around in a few hours once it reaches the lab.

..off for my second breakfast :)

Try not to worry - it will be your iron levels most likely

I have boob pain too!!! So much so I am nipping to John Lewis after work tomorrow to buy a couple of bras. I'm having to wear soft strapless bras as the wires are really digging in.

Feel a bit shit today - soooo tired and queasy feeling and just got absolutely no motivation

My Mum has made me cross by being v critical of the house we are planning to buy. It's in Marston Green which is part of Solihull but is really close to Chelmsley Wood and the senior school there is dreadful. Yes but it's not the only school and this is years away yet!!!!

Stressed is not the word

Hello everyone. I am six weeks today and EDD 25th march. No real symptoms apart from growing boobs so slightly in denial that it is happening (very happy it is though).

I was wondering if anyone has any good excuses for not drinking? It is my best friend's hen party on Saturday and I am expected to go on to the early morning. I don't want to tell her the truth as far too early. Any ideas?

Mad I was going to say probably iron levels too so try not to worry.

Yes to the boob pain and in reference to one of our previous discussions I managed to get a maternity sleep bra from John Lewis. I really struggled as I'm a 30FF but a lady in there was brilliant and helped me find something. £30 but worth it for pain free sleep.

Just told my mum and dad they're going to be grand parents. My dad was in shock but when we left he was researching prams on his iPad. My mum just couldn't stop smiling Grin

Blimey these threads move fast!

Just wanted to drop a quick reminder about Bumpfest - our one-day all-you-need one-stop-shop for finding out about pregnancy, birth and your baby's first six months. Book before August 3 to get reduced tickets, and even bigger savings if you book in groups of three or more.

The goody bag is worth more than the ticket price (if you use a combo of Early Bird booking and group booking), and you get lunch and drinks and snacks too.

Good luck with the twins (boggle - you should seek out our own OliviaMumsnet when she's back from her own twins' maternity leave) and our thoughts are with charlieis30 Flowers.

noidea tooth abcess, metronidazole :) is about the only antib that you REALLY can't drink on! It's similar to what they give to alcoholics to make them sick if they drink. And it's advised to avoid alcohol for 48 hours after the course finishes as well, so you don't even haveto ppretend to be in tooth he'll!

Fx mad - they probably just want you on the old iron tablets.

surf I'm very jealous, we went to Australia/New Zealand for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. We would move over there tomorrow if we could, but unfortunately neither of us are in jobs that are wanted by the Aussies!

I've been told I'll be induced or CS at 38 weeks, now.. Knowing if I get induced there's a chance it could well end in a CS anyway, can I just ask for an elcs so it's less stressful and I know what will happen? Will they let me?

I had to buy new bras pretty early on. Mine have grown 2 sizes already. They are huge and my nipples and all dark and permanently erect. Dh is in heaven.

I also slept appallingly last night. And for the first time in weeks I didn't need about 5 wee's so could have had a good sleep for once. Bloody insomnia!!

ARGH, so annoyed at my surgery now.

Dr calls and says 'I'm not sure why you wanted this call because everything is fine!'

I wanted the call because the receptionist phoned me to say that the Dr needed to speak to me about my results!

I spent all morning worrying over nothing

grr, grrr rant over eats a chocolate bar

No idea... Could you drive for any reason? Maybe you have to drive from the hen party to family's to be there for next morning or something? Is the hen party in a location that you could feasibly drive to?

Alternatively, Virgin cocktails are your friend and I would also recommend confiding in one person who can help you with rounds etc to take the attention off

Oh that's so annoying madas

I've got to go tomorrow to get some blood test results. Was instructed to by the hospital where they were taken as I'm not back at the hospital for a month, what's the betting the gp has no idea or can't find them or doesn't know if they're ok?

Report
notoasthere · 30/07/2014 12:11

Grr mad that is annoying.

Yes zyla you can certainly request it and if you are adamant, then they have to fulfill your request. Obviously you can wait and see how favourable you are for induction at the time they wish to start it, then refuse and ask for an elective instead if it isn't looking hopeful

Madas do we go to the same surgery? Mine does this all the time, you end up feeling a plonk and worrying without cause because the message got skewed their end. Glad its all normal though, that's another hurdle done.

Just thinking maybe I should get my bloods done, they didn't do it at my booking appointment, just gave me a form and asked me to go to the local fake hospital, a week later and I keep putting it off. Maybe Fri to celebrate reaching 10 weeks.

I had a ginger based virgin cocktail at the weekend thinking I was very clever getting double points....made me sick.

Report
oliveobsessed · 30/07/2014 12:26

notoasthere have you had any luck previously getting an elective. From people I have previously spoken to they have found it an unsuccessful battle?
I have a personal worry/fear about being induced and instrument deliveries and pethidine. I have already told DP that under no circumstances other than complete emergency is that happening.

Report
KeeperOfTheZoo · 30/07/2014 12:30

Oooh Mad how annoying! I would be so tempted to demand to speak to the receptionist involved and find out who told her to ring you! Some accountably and an apology from the person who caused all your stress is surely the least you could ask for Angry.

Zyla I would think you would certainly have a say in whether to opt for induction or CS. MW told me yesterday that I will have a consultant appointment at 36 weeks to decide whether to have another CS (EMCS last time after long/horrible labour) or whether to attempt VBAC.

She also advised me to speak to the hospital at my booking appointment about pulling up my notes from last time and reviewing exactly what went wrong and why certain decisions were made. My preference for ELCS or VBAC will depend largely on the answers I get to those questions as I can't face another labour like that one again Sad.
