I found menkul anywhere near as much as I once did. Faithlet is 15 months old and although the TTC/pregnancy/early days were tough and I went a bit batty, it's fairly straightforward now. She can say some basics and if she's fussy she's either hungry, tired or done a poo. Quite quick to go through the three!

euro I hope you got to the hospital ok and get more cuddles today.

TheOriginalWinkly · 22/07/2014 18:17

I would say don't buy a doppler, my baby was so wriggly that even the midwives struggled to pin her down to find a heartbeat. If I'd been doing it myself at home I couldn't have found it and would have panicked massively.

euro did the pump come? How's the boobs? Sorry you've not had any cuddles. Have they given you any idea how long she'll need the light therapy?

Today I cried in the street because a bee flew into the baby's pram and frightened me Blush

I agree with winks about the doppler. The seconds waiting for the mw to find the heartbeat were bad enough.

bugs I hope you can manage to muster the energy to enjoy your day out.

faif it was another cuddle-free day but for a good reason this time. She has finally started to keep milk down and for about the first time ever since birth she slept. Pretty much all day and throughout both our visits. I think it is the first time since she was born on Thursday night that she hasn't had an empty gnawing tummy. When she's sleeping, she's growing rather than burning calories, so we left her in peace. She needs to put on weight so we can get her home! She was out from under the jaundice lights for the day, but having looked at her chart, her levels were creeping up last night so we expect to find her back under them today. :( She clearly hates it and is very agitated when they are on so I really don't like seeing her under them.

My house now looks like a florists! All of the deliveries started arriving yesterday. My favourite so far has to be the giant basket of cakes and cookies from a work colleague. :)

In a slightly crazy move, we have the photographer from the estate agent who will be marketing our house coming over later. We have been putting him off for the past couple of weeks as we had so much going on. Unfortunately, it means we need to tidy up. There are bits of expressing kits, breast pads and other baby-related crap everywhere at the moment!

SinkyMalinks · 23/07/2014 08:25

Rubbish night for us too bugs. Too warm and R was wanting to feed all night. Can't blame him - I was bloody thirsty as well!

katandkits · 23/07/2014 09:22

Same here sinks, awful night. Kitten just would not settle, even when I put her in my bed. Am fit for nothing today.

SinkyMalinks · 23/07/2014 09:48

He's now passed out after I stripped him naked and opened all the windows - we have a little bit of a breeze today thankfully. Yesterday was stifling.

Euro, so glad centime has had some milk and is sleeping - definitely what she needs - whenever R's off colour he reverts to sleeping and only waking to feed. I've heard of uv blankets that can give photo therapy without needing eye cover. Don't know much about them, but might be worth asking if there are any alternatives? Fingers crossed you get a cuddle today.

And good luck for the photos!

TheOriginalWinkly · 23/07/2014 10:20

Another awful night here. HWCA sat up holding the baby for an hour and a half so I could get some sleep. Baby finally dozed off properly at 6.30 am, bloody postman rang the buzzer waking her up at 7.15am!!!!!

Good luck with the photos euro, you're a braver woman than me. Glad centime is feeding and sleeping now, with luck the food will help flush the jaundice a bit maybe?

maamalady · 23/07/2014 11:28

Glad to hear centime is doing well and the jaundice is getting sorted. Hopefully now she's feeding it won't take too long to clear - I suppose with her being a prem baby they're being extra cautious?

The calf was really unsettled from early evening right through until about an hour ago. She did sleep at one point in the night, but I was so tense trying not to disturb her (and at the same time having to be present to reassure her) that my sleep quality was not great. Never mind. She's been feeding all morning and has now been asleep on my chest for an hour or so - good thing she's so cute or it'd be exasperating Grin

Another rubbish night here too. 37 weeks today and feel like a beached whale.

My sister really pissed me off the other day with a comment on t'other place. It pissed CGH off as well so at least I wasn't just being crazy hormonal pregnant woman.

Our plasterer is coming over on Friday to plaster our living room. Hopefully it might be painted in time for miniginge to arrive. I think not, but right now I don't give a crap.

Glad to hear centime is feeding better, euro, and squidges to all the baybees keeping everyone up at night.

Fankletastic · 23/07/2014 14:56

Sorry to hear of everyone's restless, hot nights. MG is away with work this week so at least I don't have his body heat to contend with as well. It's v hot today but the breeze is good (just made the most scrumptious Spanish(ish) omelette for lunch and are it outside in the garden. I love skiving working from home on days like this!

Thanks Winks and Bugs for the heads up on the 16 week check up. Alas it seems they listen at every appointment where I am, so I heard little Fanklet's heartbeat. Soo amazing! I'm on cloud nine right now. However I discovered I am rhesus negative. Wtf? Anyone else have this blood group?

I phoned my mum to tell her all went ok but she's clearly going deaf and I had to shout every word down the phone to stop her talking over me. Sort of ruined the moment a bit. She keeps saying it's her phone and she must get a new one but I reckon it's her hearing. She's coming to visit next week and staying for a week. On one hand I can't wait to have her here but on the other hand she is v hard work (she's got a disability so can't walk very much as is v unsteady on her feet plus she smokes and I therefore have to insist she goes outside for a fag, which is tricky because of the mobility issue)...ho hum.

Sending those peshlets salmons of sleepiness for tonight.

SinkyMalinks · 23/07/2014 18:31

Fankle, I'm rhesus negative. It's not a problem as long as you get the injection. It's R's bedtime but I'll write more later if no one else has

GingerScouse · 23/07/2014 19:15

Yep, O neg here. Had the anti-D prophylaxis at 28 weeks (I think), to avoid the production of antibodies in case miniginge is positive (CGH is O pos).

Not an issue for this baby, but if babyFankle has a positive blood group and your bloods mix during delivery (or at all, e.g. after abdominal trauma) then you will produce the antibodies against the Rhesus factor in babyFankle's blood. If you then have another baby who has a negative blood group, your body may produce the antibodies again and attack the baby.

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/07/2014 19:56

Rhesus neg, had anti d. Turns out I produced the antibody anyway and now have to carry a card. I've googled the risks for next pregnancy and it's not ideal but not terrible either.

eurochick · 23/07/2014 21:44

The vast majority of prem babies end up with jaundice. It's not a big problem. It just means time under the lights in an eye mask, which it is clear she hates. I don't like seeing her unhappy. She's a different baby when she's out from under them.

My milk has properly come in now and I am pumping for England with the aim of feeding her up. They are giving her more and more milk all the time and she is keeping it down and today her weight went up a tiny bit, so it is going in the right direction.

Sorry for all those having rough nights. I am so shattered, I'm finally managing to sleep soundly between expressing sessions. I'm sure that will change as soon as centime comes home.

fankle that sounds a bit tricky with your mum but I hope you have a great visit despite the logistics.

The photographer was here for AGES. I can't quite believe I got my home ready to be photographed at 6 days post-partum. Hmm I must be mad.

CatsCantFlyFast · 24/07/2014 07:56

Euro it sounds as though things are really going in the right direction. I am thrilled for you. The jaundice is likely to go much quicker too now that your milk has come in (another almighty power of breastmilk) so here's to hoping she will be home soon

eurochick · 24/07/2014 13:36

Thanks. We're just back home for a lunch break (and my first stinky cheese since 2013 - oh yes). We had a really looooooooooooooong cuddle today as she was out from under the lights. :)

PESH who have laid, talk to me about night sweats. The last two nights I have woken up absolutely drenched. I'm having to change the bedsheets daily! How long does this last? It's bloody minging!

ALittleFaith · 24/07/2014 13:47

Euro, you, centime and KFZK are doing wonderfully! So glad you got a long cuddle and she out from the lights.

Re sweating, I got it when pregnant too. It settled fairly quickly after dropping, within a couple of weeks.

Fankle I hope your Mum's visit is positive. It may be an ideal opportunity to clarify if the hearing really is the phone or her!:)

CatsCantFlyFast · 24/07/2014 14:02

Ah yes the night sweats. I was sleeping on beach towels. About 4 weeks for me. It's your body's way of getting rid of the fluid from pregnancy

SinkyMalinks · 24/07/2014 14:49

Yeah, a few weeks for me as well. No one tells you about the sweating, do they?

FriendofDorothy · 24/07/2014 14:50

Argh I have got this really grim wobbly bit at the bottom of my bump. I am convinced it is something sinister.

I have riser the midwife anyway at5.30 so will ask her then.

Very hot today. Thankfully we are on the beach but chasing about after The Little Mister is exhausting!

I can't be sure if I had night sweats, or was/am just generally sweaty in this heat. euro you are all doing amazingly well, hooray for cuddles :)
