Waiting to be called for my mw appt at the mo. Feel like crying again. Not helped by minor disagreement with DH this morn. Upset too as he is off work today so was going to come to appt but the pram which the stupid courier company failed to deliver yesterday has been rescheduled for today. But I think it's mostly my mood thats at fault and the thought of having to go to work today still. Deary me I am not much fun today lol.

Have a good day ladies xx

ilovemonstersInc · 26/06/2014 11:03

Top I am at the hosp too. Got another 20mins til next bloods need to be taken for the gtt.
I have both dc with me and eldest is bored and baby is tired. Not a good combo!

Finally caught up again! Glad to see I'm not the only one that is feeling completely overwhelmed, I keep writing lists of what I need to do and then just panicking as to when I will get it done, whilst still working and having the other 2 to look after as well.
That said have got a few jobs done today, and only 5.5 shifts left at work over the next few weeks, I think the thought of having this baby in 9 weeks is freaking me a little, my youngest turned 1 today!!
We also need to try and sort a new car as DH has 'just' realised we can't get 3 child seats in the back of his, hmmm not sure how/where we are going to fund it tho.
At least in 9 weeks the 5/day insulin injections will be done with, can't wait for that, I'm covered in bruises.

KitKat1985 · 26/06/2014 12:45

Oh dear, looks like we're all hitting some sort of third trimester medical issue. It's hard isn't it? I think we all deserve some Cake

As for me, back pain is getting a more regular feature of my day. Got my letter through this morning telling me to phone and make my physio assessment appointment, which I did, but couldn't get an assessment appointment until July 21st, so nearly a months wait just to be assessed (not even treated). Sad Until then, I'm just taking paracetamol regularly as there's not a lot more I can do.

Work's getting draining as well. Heading off in a bit for shift 9 out of a 10 day stretch. Definitely flagging now. Far from letting me 'wind down' over the next couple of months (I'm working until August 31st - due date September 17th) I seem to have been allocated the most patients out of all the other nurses, and I've just been given a student to take on as well for a couple of months, as well as 2 newly qualified nurses I'm supposed to be doing their preceptorship stuff with, and have got a list of people I'm supposed to be doing annual appraisals with (seems utterly pointless since I won't be there to follow the appraisal objectives through). Hmm 66 days until my leave starts and counting.....

polkadotdelight · 26/06/2014 13:12

Bloody hell kitkat. We have the same due date and Im taking annual leave so finishing on 8th august. Cant wait.

I started my first antenatal class yesterday. I felt huge next to the other ladies who were 3-4 weeks ahead of me. Ive had comments from people saying Im huge and was getting a bit down about it.

Have had a 28 week appointment with the Consultant today and Im measuring fine! I said I was worried I was too big and she laughed

polkadotdelight · 26/06/2014 13:14

sorry! She said that people should see the size of some ladies and we are all different.

Estimated weight on todays scan was 2lb 12oz so he is nice and average.

The next person who says Im huge is going to get a black eye!

Dazedconfused · 26/06/2014 14:24

hi all
wow it has been a busy time for everyone with shopping and hormones.
I am ok my gum infection is gone which is great and we changed our duvet yesterday to one with fewer togs so I slept much better last night so am feeling much chirpier.
Carseat arrived yesterday too so plan to play with it a bit tomorrow.
Counting down the weeks until I finish work....8 to go.

ilovemonstersInc · 26/06/2014 15:13

Argghhh. Spd pain is that bad now that I physically cantturn over in bed and I cant walk properly.

Just spoke to physio they dont have any appointments until 8th of August! They said sounds like I need crutches. If it gets worse will be admitted to hospital for rest.

Eastwiththem · 26/06/2014 15:24

I had my first NHS antenatal class booked in for yesterday - only when I turned up there was no one there! Receptionist didn't have a clue and no answer from the midwife on the phone. Eventually did get through to find out that the class was actually scheduled for Friday and she'd just written totally the wrong dates on my notes. Gah!

Am having a hormonal meltdown over moving too. We have spruced our flat up to put it on the market and it looks so lovely. I don't want to move! We have to though as a one bed flat up 40 steps with no lift is not really suitable long term, and it's better to get it done now while the baby is still super portable. Having a serious case of sad face though :(

ilovemonstersInc · 26/06/2014 18:28

Flowers Cake for us all.
3rd trimister is utterly shit

was worried about babys heart rate being fast yesterday. I think throughout the full pregnancy it was the 2nd time ive been worried like that for him. Worried like I would be with the other 2. This dc is a very much surprise baby and very unexpected. It worried me to think that he could be struggling on the inside with something and im not picking it up :(
Hes still active which is good.

OP posts:
ilovemonstersInc · 26/06/2014 18:29

Ps heart rate was only just over the high range of normal

LH1981 · 26/06/2014 20:22

Popping in again. I know my posts are very few and far between.
I just turned 28 weeks...is anyone else experiencing very severe braxton hicks?
This is my 3rd baby (although 6 years on from my last pregnancy) and I didn't get it with either of the other 2. The 'contractions' are coming quite frequently, are very strong and I can feel quite a lot of pressure low down in my pelvis.
Not sure if I should be worried or just a normal part of this stage of the pregnancy. x

karigan · 26/06/2014 20:38

Bah that sounds horrible. Sorry this one is my first so I've no idea on when braxton hicks start. I've not felt anything like that but I'm only 26 weeks so not as far on as you.

Eastwiththem- sorry about your flat :( I had that last time we moved- the house was far more suited to what we wanted but I felt so bad leaving our lovely house to one that was quite run down looking. What's your new house like?

topmammy · 26/06/2014 21:00

I'm 31 weeks but dont think I have had BH as yet!

Well I'm in a better mood now. MW check up went well, everything normal. I think it's still slightly early to check for baby's position but I asked about it anyway and MW checked and found she is in the right head down position already. Fingers crossed she stays there!

Glad your gum infection has gone now dazed

Don't blame you being on countdown already kitkat your workload sounds really heavy :(

My Mothercare Orb arrived today too. Grin

WaffleWiffle · 26/06/2014 21:12

LH1981: "I just turned 28 weeks...is anyone else experiencing very severe braxton hicks?"

Hiya

I'm just turned 28 weeks too (due 17th Sept) with my fourth child and also had some strong tightenings this week. All one sided for me though, not certain if it is ligament stretching but could also be BH. I'm not overly worrying about it.

Inbl00m · 26/06/2014 21:12

Haha KitKat I'm impressed that you're counting the days!

I'm also struggling with the thought of what's to come work wise. Work is being reorganised so I'll have to apply for my own job in August and will then find out if I've got a job to go on maternity leave from. Especially frustrating as I've been in my current role for 5 years - timing is classic! Just not sure how possible it will be to give a good job interview performance by 36 weeks??

Eastwiththem · 26/06/2014 21:14

I don't think I've had any Braxton Hicks either. I'm 28 weeks today so guess I'll be getting them soon.

We are moving to a rented flat as we are also relocating to the other end of the country! (currently in Scotland but moving to Bristol). So that's the other stress as I really love this neighbourhood and don't really know the area we are moving to. Rented flat is huge but a little tatty, which makes me sad face too as if we owned it we would repaint it easily but I don't want invest time and energy in somewhere we will probably only be in for a year. Hoping to get a house in 2015 once we know which neighbourhoods are nice yet also affordable! I've never been sad about moving before as it's always been to somewhere better but I'm feeling so wobbly about this move, but staying isn't an option either :(

Hope everyone else is feeling ok and the aches and pains aren't too bad. Only a few weeks left though, it better be worth it all in the end! ;)

KatharineClover · 26/06/2014 21:21

LH1981 have you tried drinking some water (can be caused by dehydration) or resting if you've been active / moving if you've been resting to see if they stop? They should do - or speak to your midwife if they don't (I know someone on another forum who has an irritable uterus that causes lots of Braxton hicks) xx

Thanks Ladies, will just keep an eye on it.
Katharine I do try to drink lots as I've definitely noticed it's worse when I'm dehydrated. x

DearDinah · 27/06/2014 07:44

Feeling a bit sad today, still got 4 weeks of work but lucky enough to do them from home, so today I'm leaving my office & my one colleague I've worked with for the past 8 years. He doesn't work for my company, has his own I just work from his house, anyway he's always been there for me, helped me loads & we have such a laugh. I won't be going back there, even if I do go back to work, so this is it. :( I know I'll probably still talk in the phone & I'm probably being emotional, but he's a genuine friend & I think they are few & far between

Eastwiththem · 27/06/2014 12:45

Aww Dinah, that sounds rubbish. Hopefully you can keep in touch outside of work, it's definitely rare to work with anyone you would choose to spend time with!

Ella, I think feeling faint is usually associated with low blood sugar so fingers crossed that's a good sign for you.

Teabiscuits · 27/06/2014 13:34

Seems like everyone is having a time of it. Pregnancy is such a long journey sometimes! Not too long left for most of us now though. I am just ridiculously tired today. 2 more weeks at work for me :) - I'm so happy I had kept all of my holiday entitlement until now. Means I have 8 weeks off before baby is born, and my maternity doesn't start until the week I am due.

Also we found a car :D. It's done absolutely tons of miles but has been very carefully looked after by 1 owner, and had all the bits replaced that need it so we don't mind. It's new enough to be up to date on safety features, and has bags of room in for 4 kids. We have taken out AA cover just in case though!

ilovemonstersInc · 27/06/2014 13:43

I just rang hospital. Diabetic midwives there know my family as mum had gd. They were lovely and she checked my results. Empty stomach was 4.1 and 2hours after sugary drink 4.7 so they are happy I've not got it Grin

Would be nice to know why hes sooo big though lol.
