Old thread is getting full so here's a nice new one for all our moaning, paranoia and getting each other through it. Can someone do the honers and copy our edd list over? Maybe link the old thread too?

OP posts:

I am also waking a lot. No real sickness so I am lucky there but I am going to bed at about 9.30 and still having a massive energy slump at about 3. Today that will be in the middle of a board meeting so that'll be fun, I have trouble keeping awake in them at the best of times!

hefner · 27/02/2014 09:51

I feel sorry for all those with morning sickness but I can't help giggling at your descriptions, especially ohthegoats, pebble, and binkybunny!

Nothing much to report here, I'm still just feeling tired and short tempered, and a bit sick when I get too hungry. I'm seeing the midwife next friday when I'll be 10 weeks.

I'm finding it so hard to get out of bed. Today got off to a bad start - I woke up, realised I'd slept through my alarm, jumped out of bed and ran straight into the wardrobe, ouch!

puppy and mrsthedog I'm with you on the breaking bad addiction. I've finished the final series and it's brilliant. We've moved on to game of thrones now.

binkybunny · 27/02/2014 11:30

I had the dildocam a few weeks ago. Wasnt too bothered at the time I just wanted to know everything was ok!

Just thrown up in the public toilets at work... Oh dear think yesterday was the calm before the storm. I am actually going to die today!

magichandles · 27/02/2014 11:35

It really does vary doesn't it? I felt dreadful when I got up yesterday and thought I was going to pass out in the shower, every time I directed the shower head at my head I saw stars!

Today I woke up feeling a million times better, but have just had a coffee (my one of the day) and now I'm feeling distinctly queasy and I need to walk down and pick DD up from preschool in a few minutes.

It's odd as I really didn't have many symptoms with DCs 1 & 2, but I'm feeling much worse this time (although nowhere near the level of some of you) - the tiredness is just awful.

ToffeeJungle · 27/02/2014 11:41

Tiredness - oh yes! Am very proud of myself if I stay awake past 9pm at the moment and that's with 10 hours sleep!!

Sickness - haven't actually thrown up yet but have almost several times - once in the shower which wouldn't have been pretty! Carrots down the plug hole.... ugh. I feel nauseous for much of the day though, it is defnitely worse than with DS1 so I'm guessing this one is a girl - or maybe twins?! Nah, I don't think it's a multiple pregnancy really but it's fun to wind DH up by saying so....!

Hungry - oh God yes! Constantly starving, constantly eating! Yesterday I ate so much I feel even more sick now thinking about the junk I consumed including a large bag of skittles and a large bag of onion rings!!!! Today I'm working and ate my 'lunch' at 10.30am!!

Dignity - yep, went right out of the window from contraction #1 with DS1. And I had a male medical student in with me whilst I gave birth, bless him it was his (and mine) first live experience of childbirth - not sure what he thought of it all but was kind enough to say congratulations and shake my hand just after the placenta was dragged out of me.

TV addiction - currently Mad Men, I love it!

BlueberryPoppy123 · 27/02/2014 12:23

mum2kiss sciatica was my first thought but never had it before so I'm unsure... Hoping I don't have for whole pregnancy if it is, that would be frustrating!
troubleandfyfe totally agree with you, with my DS I refused a sweep... Midwife wasn't impressed she kept offering me them from 38 weeks I went to 42weeks + 1day... Sometimes m/w don't like you refusing but it's your body you have that choice...

I had a student midwife 3rd year deliver my son it was great because it meant I was never alone during labour, she was fantastic too! Better than a fully qualified mw who has to keep popping off to see someone else.
Although if it had been a male student I'd have refused him... Can't have another bloke looking at my lady bits lol

sazzlehopes · 27/02/2014 13:06

ohthegoats - your posts are the best! and yes i'm afraid your dignity will scuttle off into a corner and not return for quite sometime after the birth!

ikea - glad you are feeling a little better, it does sound horrid to feel so ill.

cake - i feel like you, tired unless i'm eating ALL. THE. TIME. Luckily its mainly healthy - really craving savoury in general, greens -kale, cabbage etc, carbs, and spicy foods. The first time around with DS it was all about CAKE! And I never had any nausea.

So 9 weeks today! Yippee! Had my booking in appointment with the midwife. She was really nice, filled out tonnes of forms and had loads of blood taken - but all was good. Felt so weird to go into that much detail when I still don't know if it is all ok in there. Oh well, just have to keep thinking positively and hope my scan apt comes through soon!
those that already have a kiddo, how and when are you telling them? My ds will be 3 and a bit when we have the scan and all being well we will tell him after. Would you show the scan photo? Thanks x

sazzlehopes · 27/02/2014 13:10

Not tired unless i'm eating!! NAUSEA unless i'm eating!!

And agree on Mad, men, breaking bad and game of thrones - all excellent. Would recommend the Wire too.
We are currently hooked on House of Cards!
I love a box set!!!

mum2kiss · 27/02/2014 14:03

I was just tucking into a hot cross bun when my colleague said "eating again?! You're not up the duff again are you?!"

Oh dear!

BlueberryPoppy123 · 27/02/2014 14:04

sazzle my son is only 22 months... So this probably doesn't help at all but he knew before my DP...
However, My sister who is 4 weeks infront of my has a 7yo and almost 4yo she has mc a lot so had scan at 7 weeks they got showed the scan pic and told EVERYONE even though asked not to lol they are very excited to have brother or sister though x

BlueberryPoppy123 · 27/02/2014 14:05

mum2kiss did u lie or confess? I'm scare of people guessing because I'm a awful lier!

mum2kiss · 27/02/2014 14:05

Blueberry no sooner did I call sciatica at you did I then have the sharp pain in my right buttock!!! I had sciatica last time around too. The only way I can describe it is as a pain in the ass!!!

mum2kiss · 27/02/2014 14:07

I lied! I just said "hahaha no I just needed something sweet!"

mum2kiss · 27/02/2014 14:38

Aaaand I just went to the loo for the 100th time today only to discover I've got my knickers on inside out!! Pregnancy brain!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 27/02/2014 14:44

Quick post, bumpforme2014 personally I would cancel the steak restaurant, as I refuse to eat a well cooked steak, for me it has to be rare or not at all. And as we can't eat undercooked meat until October I wouldn't bother going. But if you like well done meat then different story I guess?

Yes to tiredness, I have a 3 year old and a nearly 18 month old, and am so tired, yet it comes to bedtime and then the insomnia kicks in, I would give anything for a nap around 3.30pm which is the time my body wants to crash out.

So I spoke to midwife who is going to do my booking in on 14th March when I believe I will be 9 weeks, however as my cycle was long, based on first day of my last period they all think I am more pregnant than I am, i think i am 7 weeks tomorrow but they think i am 10 1/2 weeks now so they have booked me for a scan next Friday to establish a due date and then there will be another scan around 12 weeks for the nuchal test etc.

TroubleAndFyfe · 27/02/2014 15:03

Great news re an extra scan loopy! Grin
Breaking bad was finished long ago, loved it! Loved the wire too, and dexter. Still watching the walking dead (really love it) and have just started True Detectives which is brilliant so far! Still have a series of the sopranos to watch too. Perfect for these lazy pregnant evenings.

Neha1903 · 27/02/2014 15:05

Officelady, thanks for your message from day before yesterday. My EDD is 15 Oct 2014.

I had a good day yesterday that somehow morphed into a not so good evening. Could not get myself to look at dinner, kept burping! Anyways had some porridge just now for lunch and I'm feeling better.

Hope all you girls are feeling okay x

BumpNGrind · 27/02/2014 18:46

Hi can I join please. My edd is 7th October. I've had an early scan so I know there's a little one in there but so far I've been fine, not much tiredness (only what you'd expect when your working long hours) and no sickness. I do have THE most painful hips though, my left buttock in particular is in constant agony. I've consulted dr google who has said its pelvic girdle pain but i am going to beg the dr for some help if this continues.

Bumpforme2014 · 27/02/2014 19:00

Evening all, thanks for advice about my bday meal. I agree loopy that's the other issue I don't do well done steak, think I will cancel and do drinks at local pub instead then people can eat if they want too.

I wasn't too bad today, had energy slump at 2pm which included a throbbing headache right before my team meeting, took paracetamol and had coffee soon perked up. Don't like this gagging thing either it's so odd wrenching but not being sick, found chewing gum helps.

pusscous · 27/02/2014 19:03

Hi, can I join? I am currently 7w6d, due about 13 October. We found at 6w2d, after Valentine's Day. This will be our first child/ pregnancy, after trying for over 14 months and we are both absolutely delighted. It was a bit of a shock at first as it's taken so long so can't believe its real.

I have been having symptoms since week four but ignored them believing I was feeling sick from over eating, since Christmas we have been living in a hotel eating out everyday and have eaten too much! We have just relocated country for dh work.

It has taken me the last week to read all the thread and I can really empathise on the nausea- the thought of food, eating and most food smells make me feel really sick. I struggle to go around the supermarket, preferring the fruit and meat sections to the bakery. I am grateful as of yet that I have not been physically sick, I have retched and had to swallow back a few times, including outside the hairdressers just before my appointment- at that point believing I might eaten something dubious rather than I was pregnant! I am also extremely tired but have not been able to sleep at the normal time preferring mid afternoon. Iam very glad that I am not working at the moment as I am not feeling able to do much.

MrsCaptainReynolds · 27/02/2014 19:15

Not been on for a while. Been feeling really nauseated and tired. I've enough energy to get through work, but none left over for home, mn-ing etc.

Coping a bit better now I've remembered that refined carbs can be a saviour. But really I think I'm just going to have my head down trying to grin and bear it until it passes. Took till 16w last time. Currently 8w + 3.

I don't think I can do this again. This will be DC2 if all goes well. My fantasy of 3 might be over!

MrsCaptainReynolds · 27/02/2014 19:16

BTW anyone else got itchy calves?!

Neha1903 · 27/02/2014 20:00

MrsCaptainReynolds sorry to hear you're having rough time. Hope you feel better.

I'm having some good days and some bad days.. just trying to stay positive too!

Mrsthedog · 27/02/2014 20:24

Taking into account that it is Shrove Tuesday next week, I have decided to give up drinking alcohol, smoking, injecting heroin, eating soft unpasturised cheeses and ovulating for Lent.

Who's with me?

TroubleAndFyfe · 27/02/2014 20:28

Welcome newbies!
BumpNgrind..unfortunately I'm a bit of an expert on PGP, I had it very badly last time and can feel it's there already this time. I would recommend the following (these things presented me from being in a wheelchair during the third trimester which the physio expected):
Check out www.pelvicpartnership.org.uk
Try to join an aqua natal class ASAP, ensure the teacher knows about your PGP as there are some things you won't be able to join in with
Insist on a referral to physio now (big up pain if needed, every day counts.
Find out if they have NHS acupuncture in your area and get a referral ASAP, this was the best thing for pain relief.
Avoid stairs as much as possible, if there's a choice, always use the lift or ramp. Go up and down stairs at home on your bum. No, this is not fun at 36 weeks but trust me, it's very important!
Get a pelvis support belt- I bought mine from the hospital pharmacy on recommendation from physio.
Invest in a pregnancy support pillow such as DreamGenii.
Get in and out of the car with your knees together- putting a carrier bag on the seat can help you to twist. Get in and out of bed with your knees together and sit down to dress- don't stand on one leg.
When you have a bump wear a tubigrip support every day (physio will give you this)
Have a long bath every day to ease the pain.
Don't listen to people who tell you to keep active - your pelvis is essentially coming apart every time you move...take it as easy as you can!

Sorry that was so long but taking action now could change so much for you. Best of luck and please know that I'm here for support/advise/whatever.
PS. Are you a very flexible person?
