Littlestar, my periods could be anything from 40 days to 84, if that is what you call irregular? That is what first made me suspicious that something was wrong when I came off the pill.

littlestar08 · 26/09/2008 13:48

My periods are like once a year if am lucky i have probably had about 5 real periods ever....i dont suppose there is any chance of doing a pregnancy test, with my progesterone being so low?

I am going a bit crazy i keep telling my husband to leave me or i will leave him so he can get marrid to someone who can give him kids....

pregnancy is so easy for some...especially find it annoyin when ppl say it wasnt planned or was an accident....feel like killin then

Hi GemmaLouise,

I have been trying to conceive for about 2 years, its been a hard struggle as i have PCOS which means i am slightly overweight so doctors seem to think that becuase i am a bit fatter i need to do all sorts before they can start me on stuff!

I am currently waiting for my period after my second course of clomid, i was due friday but nothing so far and a negative pregnancy test so i feel a bit in limbo, in a way i wish i would get my period so that i can start my third round of clomid and get trying again but on the other hand i might be pregnant.

I havent yet had a day 21 blood test as my first one i got my period on day 21 and my second one due the friday before last i was 100% certain i was getting my period again only to wake up with no pains and no bleeding. think my body is playing tricks on me!

How are you going on your tablets?

take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi All

on my 3rd cycle of Clomid, 50mg days 2-6, have unexplained infertility over four years after mc in 2004. Tried IVF four times, and no luck on implantation. Does anyone know what affects Clomid has on implantation as concerned about this.
Fingers crossed for 3rd time lucky
Thanks for all your sharing...it really does help.

Lorelei97 · 30/09/2008 23:39

is anyone else on 150mg of clomid? have to start next month which they said will be my last try after 2 months of 50 and 2 months of 100. Have had a hard time on it and was looking for advice/ information on side affects.....

Pinkali37 · 01/10/2008 12:32

Loobloo, day 21 blood test is a test for your level of Progesterone. This shows whether you ovulated or not. Now i have forgotten all this so do correct me if I am wrong but anything over 10 is good but really for proper ovulation you want over 30. I had 2 months at 1.0 (rather crap) and 3rd month 67 and conceived. Telephone your doctors to ask for the blood test. OR just go for it and wait each month. Saves all the waiting around for results etc.

teenab, clomid is not a drug that builds up each month therefore your blood test results will vary. Do not worry too much your 127 beat my measley 67 and 1.0!!! Just keep trying and stay positive. I'm sure you have but I cut out all caffeine and alcohol and took prenatal tablets. I also had acupuncture the month i conceived which if nothing else helped give me a few minutes of ME time and in the end actually made sense that he was trying to make my womb like a fertile garden, ready for the seed to implant! I AM NOT A HIPPY but mentally it did help!

littlestar quit with the telling DH to leave!! I MEAN THIS NICELY. I did exactly the same thing with my DH. Go on leave me etc... It does seem so unfair however, you have to take time out and relax. I got the stage that I had almost given up all hope, yet at that very point when I started to relax i conceived. I couldn't stand looking at people with bumps, however yesterday in town someone was buying a predictor ovulation test behind me in Boots and she was staring at my tummy and I felt guilty as hell knowing how some people including myself struggle to achieve what seems to natural to others. x

magnummum · 01/10/2008 17:44

I've got PCOS so was prescribed Clomid. Dd (now 26 months)concieved on 3rd cycle at 50mg and have just found out I'm expecting number 2 after 6 cycles of varying amounts, so keeping fingers crossed it all works out.

MWmum · 01/10/2008 19:10

Skates77 - welcome to my world! I just pile weight on if I come off the pill. I thought I would come on between Sun and Tue. Had cramping and little dots of blood but no period (sorry tmi!)but I usually have heavy periods. I know I ovulated cos had day 21 blood test. Had lots of neg HPTs cos I bought a load off ebay and then got a bit obsessed with testing as they were cheap!
I daren't do another test as I'm sure to come on as soon as I throw another negative one in the bin (having stared at it for half an hour in varying lights of course!)

Vikks · 01/10/2008 21:00

Hi Girlies I?m back again. Just found out today that it?s not happened again this month. Hubbie and me took the test this morning, didn?t think I was, but you still hope. I?m not even sure I ovulated again, the Doc is supposed to be phoning tomorrow and I expect to be put on 150mg. I?ve had acupuncture this month and made a real effort to eat healthy and not drink too much; fat lot of good that did!
Next month I?m loading up on chocolate. Who?s with me!

Hi Skates. I know exactly what u mean about the weight thing-since being diagnosed with pcos i have put on a great deal of weight, which i find particularly hard to deal with because of my previous problems. Plus, as a gym-lover im also having to limit my exercise while ttc, which is also difficult. The doctors just dont seem to acknowledge the link between pcos and weight gain do they, and one dr even told me that it was my fault as "fat people get pcos, pcos doesnt make u fat" When i told my acupuncture dr this, he was very cross, and said that this was a totally unjustified comment and she shouldnt have said it. I couldnt help but to let it upset me a bit tho.

As the tablets, i took my last one on monday. and to be honest i found the side-effects pretty horrible. The headaches were awful, and the bloating and tummy ache wasnt nice either, and hav also been very emotional, however it will all be worth it if it achieves what im longing 4.
To be honest tho i wasnt given very much information at all about the tablets, and i not even sure when the dates r im most likely to conceive. Ive been trying to work it out and im guessing about 14 days after u took ur 1st tablet, is that right, as u have an ovulation test on the 21st day dont u. I probably sound really stupid, but i do get confused by it. Sorry 4 all the questions. Ive probably bored u by going on so much.

How r u doing? Have u had ne more signs yet? xxxx

skates77 · 02/10/2008 14:41

Hi GemmaLouise,

I still havent got my period. I have done 2 pregnancy tests but both negative. Not really sure what to do so I will wait until Saturday and do another one.

Yes its around day 14 or 15 they say its best to have sex on the day before you ovulate but I am not sure how true that is, i normally try to do it day 11, 13, 15 and then each day in the desperate hope that if i missed the ovulating it might get it the more there is!

Yes my doctor also makes me think that I only have PCOS because i am 'fat' which is annoying as I have read about it for the past 10 years and no where does it say that!

The side effects are pretty bad, my headaches were more like migrains and the sickness did my head in but if it gets us pregnant i guess we have to put up wiht it

GemmaLouise · 03/10/2008 00:23

Hi Skates,

sorry to hear ur in limbo at the moment, it must be very fustrating 4 u. Im definately keeping my fingers crossed 4 u that this may be ur month x

do u ever feel like its a military operation trying to work things out? I know its worth it all but i do so so wish that it would just happen likt it does 4 other couples.

do u get the bad sweet cravings with the pcos. Mine r really bad at the moment-it feels li ke all i want to do is eat chocolate and ice cream-very frustrating!!! and im finding it hard to resist things, something tha hasnt been a problem in the past. Its so annoying!

Love Gem xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

skates77 · 03/10/2008 12:32

hi Gem,

I have been to the doctors this morning who knew nothing about Clomid! he took some blood to test my hormones for pregnancy and ovulating. He told me that because of the PCOS i might not show up on a pregnancy test, which i already knew but he really annoyed me, he spoke to me like i was a child!

I am forever craving sweet things, the tablets made it so much worse, it is such a pain putting on weight as it is so damn hard to lose it!

Working out days is a bit of a hassle, takes the fun out of making love, but he isnt complainng!!

Love Katie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

wishinanhopin · 03/10/2008 15:59

Hi girls. Did my first month of Clomid with no success, and no AF at the end of the cycle. Dr made me wait for a week for AF and she never came.
So now I'm back on Provera to bring AF on, then back on clomid.
The first time I took clomid, I hadn't had AF for 8 months and just began taking it, so do you ladies know what day in my cycle I should start???
I'm a bit unsure? Is everyone different or is there a diffinitave start date???

GemmaLouise · 03/10/2008 18:07

Hi Katie,

Why do doctors have to do that? It really annoys me the way they talk to u sometimes. It makes me feel just like another statistic, not an individual person with feelings and emotions. I bet if they were in our position they wouldnt talk to us in that way.
I didnt know that if u have pcos, pregancy tests dont always work, thats annoying isnt it-so u can only really rely on blood tests?

yeah the tablets make my cravings worse too, and i know what u mean about finding it hard to lose weight. I could control my weight easily when i was younger, but now it is such a struggle. Have u got ne tips about how to control the cravings? Its to do with unstable blood sugar isnt it? I try not to eat naughty things, but sometimes I just say sod it and give in, they r that strong!

Yeah i know what u mean about taking the fun out of the bedroom, but just like urs, my hubby isnt complaining either!!

Love Gem xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

MWmum · 04/10/2008 12:13

Hi,
Well no great suprises when AF turned up!
Guess I must've ovulated about day 17!

I'm not sure where the idea preg tests don't work for women with PCOS is from? I've been pregnant twice with PCOS (one m/c) and both showed up fine on HPT. It is ovulation kits that are no good for us...they measure soemthing called a LH (lutenising hormone)surge which normally goes hand in hand with ovulation but when you have PCOS you can have random LH surges whether ovulating or not. It's often an indication of the illness when people go to docs saying they never get a period/pregnant despite lots of positive ov tests!

loobloo · 04/10/2008 19:49

Pinkali37, thanks for your knowledge. Will just test the water without test this month and see what happens. Clomid making me feel really neuseus also cried on friday saying goodbye to collegues for the weekend, emotional or what!

teenab · 05/10/2008 08:09

hi pinkali37

thanks for your reassuring information. Im thinking bout starting acupuncture when about in the cycle do you recommend ?

Pinkali37 · 06/10/2008 09:00

TEENAB oops sorry about CAPS... I didn't start the acupuncture intentionally at a specific time but more by coincidence. I started it a few days before AF due. (I say due but it was never a dead cert). I truely believed it helped me. Make sure you go to someone that has done this type before i.e. trying to help someone conceive. Where abouts in the country are you?

jonahsgirl · 06/10/2008 14:03

Hi everyone
Not been here for a while, I guess I'm just trying not to think to much about it all. I'm now on my 3rd and last round of clomid after a second unsuccessful cycle. Been for our first initial tests so we can start IVF as soon as, which will prob be Dec or Jan so we're hoping next year might be a better year if everything works out. I'm determined not to let this whole baby making business rule my life and I've been trying not to think about it all the time like I have been. I'm sure it's stressing me out which isn't going to help. I hope everyone else is taking it easy and not letting it get to you. Good luck to everyone and take care.
