I agree with musical too - start with private and hopefully switch to NHS when you make the top of the list. Im a massive NHS fan though. Could you ask your GP to refer you as well to try and get to the top of the list via a variety of ways?!

Scan is on wednesday, day after purple's so hers must be tomorrow. Hopefully she'll come and let us know how it went!

Too - plan is 38-39 weeks induction (they do them on a Monday so prob 38.5 weeks I reckon!). I won't have as many scans or consultant apps this time due to two successful pregnancies previously but will have to see the midwife a bit more than 'normal' to have obs done. Will you be having another elcs?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 03/03/2014 16:49

Gosh, this is Scan Week! Purple tomorrow, then Pomme, then me on Fri and Fox on Monday (I think)! Anyone else?

Yup - ELCS. Consultant appt went well - it's not the one I had last time, but this one seems nice too, and she was v sympathetic. In fact, she treated me with kid gloves and seemed to expect me to burst out crying at the merest hint of a reference to Thea! She asked me straight away if I would want an ELCS this time, so I said yes, and she's booked growth scans starting at 24 weeks, so they'll be 24, 28 and 32 weeks. She recommended the ELCS be at 38 weeks, and I said I was worried that the baby would be v jaundiced and possibly have a heart murmur like M did when she was born, and I would be happy to go to 39 weeks if it avoided that, and she said we could discuss it closer to the time and perhaps split the difference. So 38 weeks is the 9th of July, so I guess I'm looking at any time between 9 and 16 July for an actual delivery date.

And no one mentioned my pants/tights combo!

Musical, I have now rung and made an appt with the private physio for Mon 17th. We'll see when the NHS appt comes - it'll probably be at least a week and possibly 2 after that. The receptionist said I would have to make a decision because 2 physios wouldn't treat me at once due to professional ethics, but I don't have to decide until after I've had the NHS appt.

Hi,
I have had a shite week, so been keeping my head down. I Had my first ashtma attack in years and struggled to get it under control, (2 puffs of inhaler way from 999 call) thanks to being pregnant and a horrible virus. DH had the day off to babysit me, which was sort of nice.
Also I have been feeling worried about my scan which is tomorrow! I have had hardly any symptoms for a couple of weeks now. Still stats are something like 99% likely to have a baby in there!

too is there a chiropractor you could see? I have heard good things about them helping. I am hoping to start a Pilates group once scan is ok, a fellow PGP sufferer just had a fairly comfortable pregnancy through having weekly sessions with a local company.
And did laugh at your knicker predicament!

Solar congratulations!

Pomme yay to heartbeat! Such a great reassurance!

Fox82 · 03/03/2014 19:19

Sorry to hear about your shite week Purple. Asthma attack sounds awful, and hope you're recovering well. At least you have lovely scan to look forward to tomorrow. I was so worried as I didn't have hardly any symptoms at all (still haven't really!) but all was fine at the scan. We just have to tell ourselves we're lucky Smile

Oooh exciting scan week this week! Grin

Pomme that's great about the heartbeat! It's so reassuring isn't it. Listened to mine yesterday and it completely changed sounds from train to galloping horse! Me and DH were both Confused Shock

Your pants/tights story made me laugh Too Grin

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 03/03/2014 20:30

Good luck tomorrow Purple hope you don't have another asthma attack either, that sounds awful :( good on Mr P taking good care of you though.

PurpleWithaMysteryBun · 03/03/2014 21:49

Thank you ashtma shouldn't flare up like that as I am back on the steroid inhaler, just annoying as can be a pita for assessing risk and could be a problem later on. Just was so sad to have it happen when I have been symptom free for so long!

I might have some time for shopping after if it isn't long waits! 13:50 so hoping morning doesn't drag!

musicalmrs · 03/03/2014 22:05

So sorry about the attack Purple, sounds horrid :( Will be brooking like mad for tomorrow!

Fox, the placenta and the baby have two different sounding heartbeats. I think the whooshing one (the train possibly?) is the placenta, whereas the one that is more clear will be the baby's. I think!

pommedeterre · 04/03/2014 07:26

Good luck for tomorrow purple fingers crossed.

Eek on the asthma though! That sounds scary.

pommedeterre · 04/03/2014 08:47

Today even!

DinoSnores · 04/03/2014 13:23

Popping in for scan news! Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 04/03/2014 15:53

Hey Dino how are you doing? When is your next scan?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 04/03/2014 20:13

Purple, how did you get on at the scan? Hope your asthma disappears in future - sounds v scary.

Good luck tomorrow with yours, Pomme!

musicalmrs · 04/03/2014 20:31

Ah yes, good luck for tomorrow Pomme!

Hi Dino! How are you feeling?

And how are you feeling, next to pop Maybe? :)

Wish I had a scan date... I'm 8wks and haven't heard anything :( Seeing the MW on Thurs, so maybe she'll know. I did ask about the early scan but nobody got back to me, so I presume nothing's happening..

A bit wibbly here. Looking at some new houses that we're very interested in. The prices for some of them get released tomorrow, which is one wibble. Our house is also being valued (by two different estate agents) tomorrow - a further wibble. Wibble central..

PurpleWithaMysteryBun · 04/03/2014 21:16

Hello! There is a baby! Two legs and hands and top half of brain, the sonographer pointed out.. I think I was so relieved I didn't take it in so well, which is a shame, but so excited now!
I was put at 12 +3 which is perfect given my shorter cycles, EDD 13/09/14

I feel a bit nervous telling people now!

Asthma should be fine as inhalers stop the attacks, thankfully they are rare, although it is a condition I will have to probably treat as needed for the rest if my life, used to it now though! I am feeling so much better in my self, the virus was making me feel really poorly, so yes happy!

music that is exciting about houses!

pomme thinking of you tomorrow! what time will it be?

TheLittleFriend · 04/03/2014 21:40

Purple that's great news, congratulations! And your due date is my birthday, so I'll definitely remember that! Grin

PurpleWithaMysteryBun · 04/03/2014 21:51

Ooh! The day after is shared by two of my close families birthday, so that could be interesting!
I am really pleased with Sept date as really want an autumn bday fit school start, so fingerscrossed I am no earlier than 38 weeks!

pommedeterre · 04/03/2014 22:09

Yay purple that's brilliant news! 13th sept is dh's birthday too little. I'm an October birthday and I think autumn birthdays are really good for the first few years of school too.

I'm at 11.10 tomorrow! Excited but if all good we're telling the staff which I'm finding a bit weird to visualise!! I wonder if it isn't a bit like telling them all we have sex?!

musical - keep pushing for a date! Odd that no one got back to you on an early scan too. 8 weeks though! That feels like it's gone very quick. Good luck for house wibbles tomorrow.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 05/03/2014 08:55

Oooh, yay, Purple! Hooray!

Grin at Pomme and 'it's like telling them we have sex'. I felt like that when I told Dad I was pg the first time, but it's worn off now. And anyway, you are married, so I'm fairly sure they know you have sex.

Musical, you are a Brooker and so your house will be valued at millions, millions I tells you! Good luck with it - hope the nice new houses aren't too expensive. I didn't get my scan date letter until closer to 10 weeks, although as I got put back a week I suppose I was really 9, but I thought it was 10.

I keep forgetting that if I don't wash my 4 maternity dresses when they have all been worn, then I won't have anything to wear to work. I am wearing a mat dress from M's pg which has holes in the seams (bloody ASOS didn't sew the seams properly) so it is held together with safety pins, and plus the zip turned out to be jammed so I had to safety pin that too and put a cardigan over the top. I should have thrown said dress out because it is really shoddily made , but it saved my bacon this morning!

PurpleWithaMysteryBun · 05/03/2014 09:04

too there does seem to be lots of nice dresses for summer that could be smart for work. my other pgs have largely been over winter so this seems really fun! Although when I am huge in the middle of roasting summer I might not be so happy!

Pomme thinking of your scan, I still feel really lifted and happy today although have to tell my dad today and I am not sure how he will take it. And definitely yes to others knowing you have sex, DH usually tells his bosses early and that makes me feel really cringey and this time it is really obvious we had sex over Christmas which seems even stranger to me :/

PurpleWithaMysteryBun · 05/03/2014 10:03

Oh I might have just placed an order for pushchair too whistles

pommedeterre · 05/03/2014 13:06

I remember your pushchair obsession purple. Im thinking sling for this one, then its still one hand each for a bit! Did you go for the new bugaboo? How was your dad?

Scan was good. All fine, measuring 1 day ahead, all the relevant bits there. Baby was a wriggler, kept leaping around! Feeling relieved.

We have now told the UK staff, I made dh do it!

Munxx · 05/03/2014 13:26

Crap brooker checking in.

Wow it's busy over here! So pleased for that.

Can I also say welcome back to Pomme as well.

Big hugs and crafty bump feels from me all round.

Munxx · 05/03/2014 13:27

Can I also please ask for latest bump pictures to be uploaded on the other place forthwith.

maybe I am particularly looking at you. How are you lovely?

Munxx · 05/03/2014 13:28

Oh and formal congrats to solars too.

Honestly, I am always reading but generally do my MNing when feeding and I haven't a hand free to type. I am skiving off emptying the dishwasher and eating a creme egg.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 05/03/2014 14:56

Will take bump pic when I get home. I don't want someone to walk into the ladies' and catch me taking photos of myself in the mirror!

Pomme, yay for a good scan and a wriggly bean!

Purple, hmm, pushchairs...M will be 2.4 when new baby is born, and she still won't walk reliably and we have to take the buggy if we're walking anywhere in town (sling for country walks). I was vaguely assuming that I'd put the new baby in the sling and carry on with this arrangement until new baby is too heavy to carry/M is old enough to walk properly, whichever happens first. Or if I want to put the new baby in the proper pram carrycot bit, perhaps we could get a buggy board for M. Around here walking will be difficult anyway because all the good walks are too steep/rough for even the big buggy. The dog will be sad - his walks during the week will depend on how far I can persuade M to walk, while hoping that she will also walk back and I don't wind up carrying her, having new baby in the sling on my front and attempting to hold the dog's lead all at the same time. In theory I could put new baby in the pram and M in the Ergo on my back, but she weighs a ton and I was getting sciatic flares even at my pre-pg fittest in September if I carried her at all, so I doubt my core strength will be up to that for quite some time after the birth, by which time M will have grown significantly and will weigh even more.

So in conclusion to my witterings, I need to buy a newborn insert for the Ergo and a buggy board that will attach to the Quinny pram and/or the Maclaren. Double buggies are not an option given that I rarely use either of my existing buggies as it is. Plus, I am too lazy to push one - they look v heavy! Can you balance a toddler on a pram in any way without toddler damaging the baby?
