All this talk of theory tests are putting me to shame, I let mine lapse as well and need to retake and then take driving lessons. We have a car now and it really bugs me not being able to drive it. Will send of my provision licence card renewal form this weekend - I've had it filled in on my desk for months.

Mrsv I agree he sounds depressed and that sadly he needs to want help for things to work, or at least I did when I was there. I like the idea of talking to your hv, they may have some advice and there may be some activities he could do with Henry that could help.

enormouse · 21/02/2014 16:56

felix my Dp for one - 3 attempts at the theory and failed every time. Refuse to subsidise any lessons or more tests for him now. Though in his case it's laziness and believing he's better than such a stupid test.
This leaves it to me to pass as its a less expensive option. Hmm

Quick post as dd asleep in buggy, food cooking for ds1 and 2 and dd grunting like she is about to wake up.

Ok, tmi alert but, help!!

Over the last three days I have had a ridiculous amount of what I can only describe as watery discharge, going through pads, and if not wearing a pad, through pants and jeans or pjs. Feels like water and is not wee. Not clumpy or gloppy (eg not thrush) and is tinged with the remnants if my lochia. What on earth could it be? If I were still pg, I would assume it was my waters going. Has anyone else had the same? What is it?

fryingpantoface · 21/02/2014 17:34

Mythree what colour is it? Mine is orangey coloured and apparently it's normal. Pads all the way i think.

Henry is formula fed. No idea what we did differently. Will see what happens tonight!

i made lemon drizzle cake (aunt bessies - yum) and dough earlier. We're having home made pizza for tea and it's in the oven. I'm having calzone, chicken, mushrooms, ham. Can't wait! Also have wine in. Hopefully ds1 will sleep tonight. He's not napped all day and is grumpy and tired.

Naturegirl82 · 21/02/2014 18:37

Whoop I've finally managed to sort all Olivia's clothes out into sizes. Can't believe I've all ready had to put some clothes away. She is growing far too fast!

fryingpantoface · 21/02/2014 18:41

I've only put away the Sainsbury's newborn baby grows, all three of them. He's still in up to one month, the next ones are still really big, but Asda first size swamp him. It's crazy!

Felix90 · 21/02/2014 19:24

I've put away all newborn and 0-3 baby grows are starting to get small Blush her feet seem to be massive and I think she's quite long. Must take after daddy! Hopefully she wont be 6ft 4 with size 13 feet too Grin

flyawayblue · 21/02/2014 21:02

I had to make a pile of clothes Alice is too long for today. We're out of newborn baby grows and into 0 to 3.. Didn't think it would happen this soon.

Had my first post baby glass of wine, I almost feel human and not like a feeding machine.

Naturegirl82 · 21/02/2014 21:05

fly I'm joining you with the wine Wine

Pidgy · 22/02/2014 01:36

felix same here! After the shock of the birth, one of the first things I noticed about Lara was her mahoosive feet!! She's getting too big for some 0-3 too! Her nickname was 'Miranda' for the first week or so, but luckily it didn't stick and we'll never tell her'!

Means I need to get up in the loft to sort out the 3-6 months clothes we have been given and figure out if I need to but anything.

Angelesque · 22/02/2014 02:45

felix pidgy Finn has massive long feet too! And big hands...

Woke up for night feed to discover there appears to be a water cut. That's useful with an 11 day old baby... Hmm

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 22/02/2014 05:17

mrsv hugs. And I hope you can get him to see someone. You poor darling.

fryingpantoface · 22/02/2014 08:11

Ouch angel! Hope it's back on soon.

after such a good sleep 2 nights ago, we had a crap one last night. Everyone has colds. Poor Henry is still coughing from the last one and has another cold. He was up a fair amount and already sleeping in my bed.

ds1 was up at 5

fryingpantoface · 22/02/2014 08:15

And dh has just left for work. Ds1 is now wailing "daddy... Daaaadddyyy..." And trying to unlock the door.

now he's screaming "heeellllp meeee daaadddyy".

I'm going to have a shit day. I can tell

enormouse · 22/02/2014 08:48

frying you know it's going to be a shit day when they attach themselves to daddy. DS1 waits in the hall or by the window all day for fecking dadda. At one point he got himself dressed (imaginatively) and packed a tiny bag so he could go to work with dadda. Oh the hysterics when he couldn't go.

Do you feel like pointing out -"thank you darling, I only feed, clothe, entertain and take you out all day long".

Oh and Cal not such giant feet, massive hands though. One of which was up when he was born.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 22/02/2014 08:56

Poor angel and frying.
My DH can sometimes soothe Alex instantly when she's been weeping on me for twenty minutes. It makes me cross/sad/Hmm depending on the kind of day I've had.

fryingpantoface · 22/02/2014 09:11

I'm so glad others are in this position. Daddy can do no wrong! I'm the one who feeds ds1, changes his nappy, makes cakes (granted packet ones), and generally makes sure he doesn't die. But no, daddy is his favourite which is hurtful. When i leave the house he isn't fussed.
he's only just stopped wailing for his dad, after almost an hour

enormouse · 22/02/2014 09:28

Sometimes I wonder why I bother cooking with DS1, taking him to toddler groups, painting etc when daddy just sticks on a dvd and he's favourite parent. It really hurts when books are taken off me for dp to read ("daddy do it") - I know that sounds daft.

frying I find that the wailing is better or non existent if ds is occupied with cbeebies or eating breakfast when Dp leaves. And if Dp leaves without a fuss.

humpty it irritates me too. Especially if I've been trying unsuccessfully for hours to stop the crying

fryingpantoface · 22/02/2014 09:39

It doesn't sound daft at all, it's exactly like that here.

Thomas the Tank Engine was on when dh left, didn't stop the wailing. Ds1 has now fallen asleep on the landing

TobyLerone · 22/02/2014 16:21

I am never anything but thrilled/pathetically grateful when DH instantly manages to soothe Meredith!

fryingpantoface · 22/02/2014 16:37

I wish dh could settle Henry, sadly it's ds1 only. So i do all the night wakings which isn't fun

fryingpantoface · 22/02/2014 18:25

I'm having a major parenting confidence wobble at the moment. I posted on a different thread about my son being 13kg in sept when he turned two and today he weighs 10kg. My paediatric friend said not to worry, she sees him at least twice a week, and the hv didn't say anything when she saw him, but a couple of people have said i should be concerned (not in a nice way, more sarky saying i sounded proud) that i must be lying about my friend saying there's no issue. One person has stuck up for me.

now, because I'm upset, dh is muttering "fucking mumsnet" and isn't happy. And I'm feeling shit

fryingpantoface · 22/02/2014 18:47

That reads appallingly like a pity party. I'm calming down, had some lovely comments on the thread. Dh has poured me wine and ds1 has helped roll out the garlic bread.

i didn't realise that the feeling of not knowing what i was doing would keep coming back! :)

Mythreeknights · 22/02/2014 18:48

frying honestly, don't worry about bitchy mumsnetters, I just read through the thread you were on and it comes across that those with obese children are highly sensitive and chose to attack you because your son is on the skinnier side. I had a terrible moment with mumsnet about six months ago when a frightful woman attacked me for no reason, and she essentially hijacked a thread about environmental pathogens and ended up biting my head off when I said I believed they did exist and it was worth avoiding certain chemicals in pregnancy. Turns out her daughter had died from leukaemia and she took my position to mean I was blaming her for her daughters death (???) when what I was saying was my eldest son was born with a tricky condition which has required five surgeries so far, and is entirely due to environmental pathogens. Silly bitch.

fryingpantoface · 22/02/2014 19:39

Thanks mythree I've had some supportive comments too :)

it's crazy what people will get upset about!

I'm going to put ds1 to bed after his bath. He wolfed down bolognaise sauce, 3 jacket potatoes, some spaghetti, and 2 pieces of garlic bread. Apparently he was hungry!

after he's in bed I'm going to play fable 3, thrb watch old episodes of Bones and Chuck with dh. It's a rock n roll life
