Hello everyone, off we go again...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mssleepyhead · 25/01/2014 10:09

My 12 week scan isn't until 13 weeks, so still 3 weeks to go... I've talked to DH and we're not going to book it. During the week I'm ok because I'm so busy but then it gets to the weekend and I have less on and I just think! And thinking is clearly just not good for me : ) we're going to try and do something to take my mind off it instead. Just sent off a registration form for an NCT class... That's a start!

Owlysims · 25/01/2014 10:23

It's difficult isn't it mssleepy, I don't work as I'm a sahm with my dd and I think that makes it difficult for me as more time to think...just want all to be okay...oh gosh I'm so tempted...

HungryHorace · 25/01/2014 10:27

I'm the same, Owl! Far too much time to think!

I'm hoping Monday is special. So scared. :-/

Owlysims · 25/01/2014 10:36

I'm sure it will be very special and not long to wait now :) what time is it?

HungryHorace · 25/01/2014 10:37

11am. Thank god it's not too late!

mssleepyhead · 25/01/2014 10:41

Good luck for Monday hungry, I hope it's wonderful for you.

And owly it's horrible. I think if I was at home all the time I would book the scan. It's only being in school that's getting me through it.

On a happier note I feel very very sick this morning, more than I have in ages, which I've decided is good!

Owlysims · 25/01/2014 10:47

Mssleepy love that sickness is a happy note Smile I'm not going to book it as it won't make a difference, I still won't announce until after 12 week scan so it's just me being impatient, this time next week it'll only be a week away (ish it's on the Monday) and if I only had a week to wait there's no way id consider a private scan, and I'm sure this week will soon go by the same as all the rest so I'll soon be there. I do think a lot of the private (early scans) prey on our vulnerability, and I've already given into it once I really shouldn't do it again! I suppose I need to trust my body and what will be will be!

Hungry 11am is a great time!! Not to early, not to late! Perfect! Mines at 2.30 on the 10th which isn't to bad as will have to take dd to school at 1 so the day shouldn't be to long!

HungryHorace · 25/01/2014 10:56

Thank you both :-)

I'm just so worried! Not feeling hugely pregnant today, though my emotional state is fragile. :-/

Did anybody watch Silent Witness last night? I sobbed my way through the end because of the baby storyline!

Owlysims · 25/01/2014 11:27

I think the 'not feeling pregnant' are the hardest days! But 12 weeks most people feel better anyway so have to take comfort in that! Thanks

lucyfluff · 25/01/2014 11:27

Awww hungry good luck Monday Smile it will be special and exciting!! I did watch Silent Witness too....love it....that storyline was quite harsh though wasnt it!!

Mssleepy - I know how you feel about 12 wk scan being ages away, I expect mines the same wk as yours when it comes through!! Try not yo worry about your tummy - my first pg I had a flat tummy on my five mnth scan (yes I was 11 years younger!!!) and thought something was wrong but no all fine and baby low in pelvis Smile all your other symptoms are still there so thats a great sign.

Is it wrong to have eaten porridge/a king pot noodle and a pastry already??

mszeen · 25/01/2014 11:31

thank you secretlypregnant that is actually a fantastic way to put a positive spin on those thoughtless comments... ooo now to think of what I covet the most Smile thank you again you have really cheered me up Thanks

HungryHorace · 25/01/2014 12:05

My midwife friend said that, Owl...the initial hormone rush isn't there now. :-)

Thanks Lucy. SW was really harsh. Still miss Harry though!

And no, nothing wrong with that food combination at all. :-)

Owlysims · 25/01/2014 13:05

Eugh so fed up the dark discharge is back. And because I had such horrendous back pain last week it's panicking me. I've phone midwife who said to phone 111 spoke to lovely lady who has booked me in with a doctor this evening but won't really be able to do much just assess if I need a scan...eugh!

Owlysims · 25/01/2014 13:20

Perhaps a case of be careful what you wish for re early scan Confused I really hope the doc is nice we see later and refers me on the not knowing will kill me. I don't even want a private scan now as want to see proper people just in case all has gone wrong. Sorry people hope I'm not brining you down, dh doesn't want to talk about it says all will be fine but not helpful to me....

jazzyjenbo · 25/01/2014 13:31

Ohh owl i completely sympathise, get the doc to refer you to epu on monday, they will scan you and hopefully put ur mind at ease.
thinking of you x

Owlysims · 25/01/2014 13:33

Do you think he'll be able to book am appointment while I'm there for Monday?? I'm having to go to different hospital due to where 111 could book me in ....

mssleepyhead · 25/01/2014 13:41

Owly have you been to the EPU before? When I went I was told any more problems and I wouldn't need a referral, I could just go in because I was on their system. Could you try that on Monday? What's the discharge like? I'm sure it's nothing but I know that doesn't help x

Owlysims · 25/01/2014 13:43

I have yes but I'm having to go to a different one as I rang 111 and they can't refer to that hospital, it's all very confusing! The one I went to last time isn't a proper epu it was an emergency unit thing that see a range of people so think that's why they didn't say that. Does it matter if it's not my local hospital will they still give me an appointment do you think? Loss is the same as last time a dark discharge

Owlysims · 25/01/2014 13:44

Oh and thanks for replies guys Thanks

jazzyjenbo · 25/01/2014 13:47

Well i just contacted my midwife and she rang first thing monday (dont think they r open at the weekend) i had the appointment at 10am.
Hopefully the doctor will refer u or might get ur midwife to contact them.
Like has been said they told me that now i hav had issues I can refer myself in any future pregnancies, if you have been before try calling on monday x

HungryHorace · 25/01/2014 13:53

Oh Owl. How worrying. :-(

What time are you seeing the doctor later?

I'm sure it'll all be fine. xx

Owlysims · 25/01/2014 13:53

Not really sure why midwife didn't deal with it, just passed me on to 111 and they didn't understand why midwifes didn't deal with it Hmm I think if it was my midwife she would have!!

Owlysims · 25/01/2014 13:54

Hungry seeing him at half 6, don't think it'll offer me much let up on worry don't know what he can doConfused

lucyfluff · 25/01/2014 14:17

Oh owly...so it wasnt your mw? surely they can refer anyway!

Hope your ok. Has it just started? x

Owlysims · 25/01/2014 14:21

No wasn't my midwife she wasn't in was another lady and she just told me to ring 111...strange! As obviously last time I was even earlier on! Yes started this morning appears to have stopped now but I had horrendous back pain two days last week (wed and thurs) and was so bad I was in bed and couldn't really move and made me feel so sick with the pain. Didn't think much of it at time as went away and no blood...worrying me now Confused
