Lucy thinking of you hope you're getting some sleep and good luck for tomorrow hope they fit you in for a scan tomorrow fx for you ThanksThanks

Shakshuka · 23/01/2014 23:04

Only 12 weeks! We were surprised when she said she could try to have a look, just assumed that technology had advanced in the nearly 8 years since i was last pregnant! She said she was 99% sure as well...

HungryHorace · 24/01/2014 07:04

That's amazing, Shak. I thought 16 weeks was the earliest you could find out? Bet you can't wait for it to be confirmed next time!

I got my Dream Genii pillow out last night and slept so well! Clearly support is what I've been missing! So early to need it, but it's done its job so I don't care. :-)

Good luck for all today's scans.

babyspice2501 · 24/01/2014 07:26

Ah shak wow! Good news! How exciting! :)

Hungry im thinking of getting a pregnancy pillow for later on :) im not too uncomfortable atm but will defo invest in one later.

Have my scan tonight! 6pm! Very excited! :)

Lucy my thoughts are with you today too. Keeping my fx for you

HungryHorace · 24/01/2014 07:58

I think I had one from about 16-18 weeks last time. Top tip is that TK Maxx often has them at half RRP.

Lucy, how are you today? Have you bled much more? Hopefully your GP can refer you for a scan today. Xx

PinaColadas · 24/01/2014 07:59

Good luck everyone with scans today and thinking about Lucy hope you get into EPU nice and early x

PinaColadas · 24/01/2014 08:01

Thanks for the tip Hungry I'm going hunting for one tomorrow! I was looking last night trying to decide which one, think I'd like one of each and for DH to sleep in another room...

mssleepyhead · 24/01/2014 08:04

Anyone got any good advice on where to buy loose fitting tops for this stage too? I'm not ready for maternity wear but in a couple of weeks have to go for dinner with a big group f friends who don't know and I need to hide my little bump (which gets a lot bigger after eating!). I don't normally wear that kind of top so not sure where to go.

HungryHorace · 24/01/2014 08:19

I got some from Asda, mssleepyhead. Not too expensive and did the job!

Piña, we call the pillow the Labrador because it takes up so much bed room. Evicting DH is a very good plan!

mszeen · 24/01/2014 08:41

wow shak that is so early and 99% is pretty certain Smile Shock congrats on a great scan!

Lucy hope everything goes well today for you Thanks

And good luck to all the other ladies having scans..xx

We are having ours on the 11th Feb @ 14+1 was told it will prob be too late for the nuchal translucency but not too bothered, wouldn't change anything for us if bubba had DS.. I work with DS children and they are just beautiful..Smile

2beornot · 24/01/2014 08:53

t - 3hours here.

Has bad stomach pains all morning - hoping it's just nerves.

babyspice2501 · 24/01/2014 09:04

Thanks for the advice hungry :)

I felt so sick this morning but chewing gum really helped!

babyspice2501 · 24/01/2014 09:14

2b dont worry. What sort of pains are they? I get pains sometimes but I like it because it feels like something is going on in there which reasures me.

HungryHorace · 24/01/2014 09:22

That's how I try to see it too, baby!

Mine are more stretching type pains, so hoping they're a good sign. God knows why I can't remember early pregnancy from barely a year ago!

Owlysims · 24/01/2014 09:45

Eugh so telling No one but my mum and dad has now turned into 2 friends I originally told for support. Another when fears of slap cheek as was with me that day and now two more!! One asked me yesterday and another today! Very difficult when people actually ask! I don't want to lie to good friends and feels weird denying it. (Especially when they know we've been trying and it's so bloody obvious with way I've been acting, poorly, tired etc!) dh really didn't want to tell people but hard when it's you and your body isn't it!

Owlysims · 24/01/2014 09:45

Also thinking if you Lucy hope you're seen soon and bleeding has stopped Thanks

ItsSoFluffyImGonnaDie · 24/01/2014 09:54

Good luck for tonight baby, so glad mine was in the morning or I would've been useless all day!

Thinking of you lucy I hope you get seen really soon and get good news too Thanks

Owlysims · 24/01/2014 09:56

Also good luck baby and anyone else who has scans. I'm having anxiety today about how far away scan is. No idea why, seems so silly as won't make time go any faster....if it was upto me I'd have another private scan...how mad is that?! Dh would definitely now allow!! Ha! Grin

HungryHorace · 24/01/2014 09:58

I've told a few good friends. They're the ones I'd tell / talk to if I lost the baby, so DH is fine with me doing that. He doesn't tell anyone that I wouldn't be happy knowing if I'd had a miscarriage.

It's difficult, isn't it?

HungryHorace · 24/01/2014 10:00

I can't believe I've not had a private scan this time! I'm going to be a nervous wreck on Monday. I wasn't too bad last time as I'd had a scan at 8 weeks.

I can't work out why I'm more worried this time. :-/

2beornot · 24/01/2014 10:06

Hungry - hope it's not us lot making you nervous! Yes I know pains could be useful pains but not very reassuring atm and I'm useless at pin pointing where the pain is and what type. Arrrrgh

Owlysims · 24/01/2014 10:10

Very difficult!! Yes the friends that know I would want to know if all went wrong anyway (especially this close to 12 weeks) I have had two scans around 8 weeks and tbh they had given me some reassurance especially as baby had grown in between times exactly right but then with the bad news we had during the week it has completely thrown me. I obviously didn't feel like I was out the water but now almost feel like it's all going to be taken away, silly I know. Confused The next two weeks can't go quick enough!!! Good luck for Monday I'm sure all is fine and you will wonder why you were so worried Smile

babyspice2501 · 24/01/2014 10:13

Thanks girls! Feeling really excited about it today, thought id be more nervous. I think the nerves will kick in when she puts the gel on my tummy....

Imsofluffy dp is at home all day today to that will help me pass time till my scan! :)

2b you have a scan today dont you? Hopefully you will be reassured in a few hours :)

HungryHorace · 24/01/2014 10:23

Oh my god, my belly is pulsing! I can see / feel it moving!

It's utterly random. :-/

lucyfluff · 24/01/2014 10:26

Hi ladies sorry I didnt pop on earlier. Bleeding has stopped, had a pad in all night and it went to brown discharge type cmConfused

Rang GP and he said it all sounds normal as placenta is starting to take over and this change can cause bleeding. He was happy to refer for a epu scan but I have decided to wait it out over the weekend and speak to him Monday to update. Like he said they cant do anything and scan wouldnt be until at least monday anyway so Im going to rest and TRY to stay positive. I hate all this worrying, DH isnt very good with me crying and worrying as he gets panicked then!!!!

Thanks for all your well wishes keep fingera crossed for me (and everyone else !!!!)

Good luck with all the scans today too Smile will be popping in so let us know x
