We've now welcomed mini sun, dawn, kat, zazou and selfies (please tell me I haven't missed anyone...)....who will be next?!

Those of us waiting impatiently will be showing down on dates, pineapple, RLT and curry while having awkward whale sex.

Happy due date ladies! I'm just.now 37wks and treating it as a mini due date, as she is technically cooked :)

Your morning sounds great marzi and hats.off to you laura for still working, esp as you're on your feet and running after someone else's kids! Well worth it tho for the more time with Leo after. A bit of me wishes I had worked longer but I was so sick of my job I would have really struggled I think.

Did some exercise this morning and think that well justifies me having returned to bed with a box.of Cadbury heroes. Feeling a bit sugar coma-y.

And have finally started getting the periody cramps and twinges as well, no back ache or anything dramatic though.

Ladybird81 · 04/02/2014 20:05

Exactly 2 weeks till my c-section, and 38 weeks preggo tomorrow! Argghhh scary now. My DS who is 3 keeps asking all sorts of funny questions, and saying funny stuff, tonight's gem was....mummy, in 2 weeks you are going to have your tummy punched out, so you can get my sister out! haha, bless him!

Happy due date to all those due today, hope your not all waiting to long now!

Thanks for all the kind thoughts with regards to my DH's Gran, she is still in hospital, and has been given a blood transfusion as her bone marrow is failing and she can't fight infections :( She will need more and they will only do them for so long, but i think the idea is to try and keep her going until the baby is here.

amhurst · 04/02/2014 20:22

A quick question..haven't posted it yet as didn't want to unnecessarily wreck the very lovely, positive vibe but how is everybody doing on the anxiety front? I'd sit attached to the Doppler till my due date if I cld..sorry to be a downer but any tips to ease the stress off? Thanks!

LovesToBake · 04/02/2014 20:43

Amhurst does your little one move a fair bit? I think I'm lucky in that I have tended to go through this pregnancy (and my last) under the assumption that all is well unless I have reason to think otherwise, having had two low risk pregnancies so far, but I guess it also helps that this bump is seriously wriggly so I have constant reminders throughout the day (and night). How many weeks are you now?

amhurst · 04/02/2014 20:51

38+3..first was born at 37wks induced concerns re low heart beat and although I was totally relaxed about that maybe that is what has me wound up..I am generally not stressy type..There is movement but not constant..anyway it's stupid, no cause..sorry if I have made anyone else worry at all!

Sassy20 · 04/02/2014 20:53

Amhurst - I try not to think about it too much and manage most of the time but if she goes quiet I give her a prod or drink a cold drink and that usually gets her moving. I swear she can read my thoughts as well because if I suddenly think I haven't felt her move for a while she'll often suddenly give me a kick as if to say it's ok I'm fine! Smile

I'm probably more relaxed this time than I was with dd as well. X

amhurst · 04/02/2014 20:58

Thanks Smile I'll reach for the orange juice and ice..

notoneforselfies · 04/02/2014 21:10

Tmi but 16 days after birth and I think I've stopped bleeding! I was expecting it to go on much longer so am very happy with that. Despise wearing pads.

EeyoreIsh · 04/02/2014 21:18

notone that's good! my bleeding has been much less than I expected, less than a period now. First few days were heavy but now it's totally manageable. I actually quite like the padding from the pads for my stitches!

my parents have been here today, and are staying in a hotel and coming back tomorrow. But they won't leave now Sad I'm in bed, DH staying up with them, and they've got the baby downstairs. I want them to go so I can relax, but they've just made themselves a hot drink. They're lovely but they have no clue about being helpful and giving us space. And they're noisy, especially with the dog, so even when I do drift off to sleep I get woken.

Littleen · 04/02/2014 21:39

amhurst I was very, very anxious in the start and also am now if baby is having a quiet day. Normally an ice cold fizzy drink and lying on my left side gets him wiggling, and that's all it takes to reassure me! Also going for a drive gets mine wiggling lots, for some reason. Just get in some extra cold drinks and get baby moving when you need to know, and not long now until you have a brand new one in your arms, where you can see what baby is up to!

notone Good that it's stopped! 16 days though, that sounds a looong time for me. I can't even cope with pads during nights when having my period (I get up in the middle of the night to change tampon instead) - and actually dreading the time after birth more than the actual birth :o

Eeyeore Sounds stressful to have them round for so long, could you not ask your husband to drop some hints that it's bedtime for him and the baby aswell, so they can leave once they finish their drinks? Could also tell them that you'll have a lie-in tomorrow, so there's no point coming until after lunch time, or something?

EeyoreIsh · 04/02/2014 21:49

litleen I've found the bleeding much less than expected, so don't worry. I could have moved onto light pads ages ago but for the comfort of the thick ones!

I've told my parents that I'll call them in the morning when we're ready for them to arrive. They were making noises about arriving early and staying late but my DH reminded them that they were to do what was convenient for us rather than them. He's a brave man. I just want my house and baby back Sad

notoneforselfies · 04/02/2014 22:01

Ah eeyoreish that would really piss me off! You have my sympathies...

Litleen - I never normally go near pads and am a mooncup girl normally. Hated wearing them anyway, and feeling damp the whole time. Have been constantly cleaning my 'area' with femfresh wipes and putting on dry pads. Itchy wax regrowth did not help comfort levels (especially when I can't exfoliate) but just past that now thank goodness! Made me really regret not going au naturel! They were good padding for stitches though, as eeyorish says, but healing well now and think stitches might have actually dissolved too? As a side note - felt a lot drier with asda brand maternity pads compared to mothercare ones...

One thing I experienced, while I'm on a tmi roll, was a really achy clitoral region ShockBlush after about a week/10 days. I googled it lots as I sustained no damage to that area and it all looked normal: Apparently it's super common and passes after a few days. Still don't know why it happens - might be urethra from catheter, general bruising spreading out as the whole area heals...? Just wanted to put it out there in case anyone else goes through it to say not to worry if you experience it - it does pass!

Going to put my prude hat back on and cringe into my pillow now.

EeyoreIsh · 04/02/2014 22:03

parents are going, finally... got a bit emotional on DH!

Shropshiremummy2B · 04/02/2014 22:18

notone cringing with you!

Well after today's failure to attempt an induction I was instead given a sweep and have felt like utter cheap ever since. My back is so painful from my cracked rib and I think I've got some tummy cramps AND I've lost my plug. Probably should be feeling a bit happier about all this but struggling.

EeyoreIsh · 05/02/2014 07:37

How are you doing today shrops? Any progress? How's the rib pain?

Stopdropnroll · 05/02/2014 07:45

That sounds positive shrops well apart from the painful ribs obvs!

I had a bit of a false start last night with some quite painful BHs, thought it was the start of something so decided to try and get some sleep, woke up this morning totally pain free so I'm a bit disappointed, have decided I'm not talking to baby now until she decides to arrive! Smile

Shropshiremummy2B · 05/02/2014 08:29

Got the contraction timer app ready. Put a towel on the floor (our old oak floor boards would mean amniotic fluid all over our dining room table!). Didn't mention it to DH (didn't want to jinx it).

Then nothing. Nada.

Baby squirmed loads last night though. Do the slow down or do they keep squirming during contractions?

notoneforselfies · 05/02/2014 08:40

Sorry to hear you're struggling shrops, but the end is in sight, I can feel it in my bones. (As can you, unfortunately. Confused Is the rib not getting any better at all? Hope you are taking it suitably easy and not attempting hill walks!)

DH is having a sense of humour failure after little one peed on him (my fault apparently for not being fast enough with a breast pad to cover his willy) and then pooed all over the changing mat and his clothes mid change. I still find it quite funny, but I have a very puerile sense of humour I think. He's now sulking and has made tea just for him Hmm

I'm off to meet NCT ladies for coffee this morning if I can leave the house remotely on time - will be first solo outing with the wee man in the car (first time I've driven in weeks, so a bit nervous) and probably first public bf. Eek!

notoneforselfies · 05/02/2014 08:41

Also - do you mean 'cheap' due to being fisted by a midwife or is that a typo for 'crap'? Wink

LovesToBake · 05/02/2014 08:52

Shrops and StopDrop, don't give up hope - what you experienced last night could have been the latent phase and there can be a decent gap where you feel nothing and then suddenly it all kicks off and you're halfway there. Although I appreciate others also have on-off cramping type feelings for a good while leading up to labour. So basically, it could be something or nothing - helpful advice, eh?!

Notone - good luck with your first solo car and bf outing, I remember those early NCT meet ups with DS very fondly. We would dominate Starbucks for hours and the babies just slept and fed while we ate cake, drank coffee and chatted. I long for those days now, when I can only get DS to sit still in a cafe for as long as he is shoving food in his mouth.

I'm feeling buoyed by my midwife saying yesterday that the baby is very low, at least 3/5 engaged and she would expect an arrival next week. I'm 38 weeks tomorrow so pretty happy with that prediction - I'll go with that!

jazzcat28 · 05/02/2014 08:56

shrops hoping that things progress soon for you, you must be so frustrated to be so close!

Had a really vivid nightmare last night that baby had been delivered and was in intensive care and nobody would tell me if it was a boy or girl! I was in hysterics wanting to know and the doctors told me I had to wait!

The first baby in our nct group arrived on Monday - it's me next (in terms of due date)!

Other than Shropshire who is having today's baby then?

Ruggle · 05/02/2014 08:56

Hello lovely ladies!
Some of you might remember me from the very early threads for Feb. Amazing to hear that some of you have popped already...and how exciting for everyone else! Not long to go!

My due date would have been Valentine's day, but sadly lost my bean at 11 weeks. Hopped onto the July bus briefly, but jumped off again at 5 weeks. However, happy to report that I'm on the August bus now....and had my 12 week scan last Thursday. Little bubba kicking and waving...and we are over the moon!

I remember that some of you (esp ChampagneBubble?) had really bad morning (and noon and night) sickness...and I seem to now be one of those unfortunates. Throwing up 3-5 times a day. Just wondered when or if it subsided for you. I feel soooo icky all the time and food tastes gross. I have lost weight since booking in so worried that baby won't get enough nutrition.. Any advice?

xx

Thingymajigs · 05/02/2014 08:56

Felix squirmed and kicked throughout my labour shrops although he went very quiet for two days beforehand. Good idea about putting towels down. I hadn't expected my waters to go naturally and I really didn't expect the water to come out bright red like a bucket of red dye had been thrown all over me. I managed to ruin the floor and the pillow I had stupidly put under my knees. This sounds promising, I really hope this is it for you. Can't wait to see your baby pictures.

Thingymajigs · 05/02/2014 08:59

Aww great news ruggle! I remember you. I was lucky to avoid sickness with all of mine but a lot of us did go through it on here and still are so they will be able to advise you. Congratulations! Smile

Shropshiremummy2B · 05/02/2014 09:07

Well, I'm lucky that I know I will certainly be starting next week with a baby as I'm being induced on Saturday but would love for it to all kick off naturally obvs.

Ruggle congrats! So happy for you! I remember you. Sadly I don't think champagne is going to give you the answer you're hoping for!

notone I did mean crap rather than cheap. The doctor was Sri Lankan or Indonesian and she was a DOCTOR, if I had enjoyed the experience a little more I would be willing to meet her family and make a go of things.

Has anyone received a push present? On the way to be "induced" yesterday my DH said he felt terrible he hadn't organised anything but said he'd love to take me to Dubai and have a ring made! Only just remembered that!
