I actually feel like a zombie. Super tiredness is back (after it went missing a few days I thought it'd seen the worst of it!) now combined with nausea.

This is the worst hangover!

Good luck to those with scans/appointments this week. I have my booking in on Friday. Hoping it'll make it feel a bit more real!
DH is getting fed up with me discussing my various ailments. But I have no one else to moan talk to!

tannyLoo72 · 18/11/2013 05:55

In my sleep deprived state I thought I'd set up an RMC bus for July. I found the June RMC thread really supportive before.

So please feel free to pop over if you think it'd be useful.

Blueberry234 · 18/11/2013 06:36

What is a rmc bus?!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 18/11/2013 07:03

Morning all.

First day in new job today, so hoping nausea and tiredness stay away for most of it.

Spotting appears to have died down for now, so hopefully my scan on Friday will bring good news. (Have to admit to buying yet more tests yesterday just to make sure, although have held off actually doing one yet...)

Howly · 18/11/2013 07:09

Good luck for your first day Itsalways !

I can't get pregnancy out if my head, gotta go teach all day though so i will soon forget when I'm snowed under!

Have a good day ladies x

tannyLoo72 · 18/11/2013 07:30

RMC is recurrent miscarriage. It usually means someone who has had more than 3 mc, but it can mean different things to different women.

englishteacher78 · 18/11/2013 07:52

I have my doctor's appointment this morning. Can't believe I had to wait 10 days for a non-emergency appointment. I've got a huge list of questions so I hope I don't get rushed through it. I've looked into private scans in my area (north east Essex/south Suffolk) and can't find anything cheaper that £95! Does anyone know of cheaper in this area?
DH asked when we can start telling people yesterday (my b'day) after being all we can't tell people yet before. We're going to tell his parents next time we see them (next Monday for his mum's birthday).
Can't believe how nervous I am about a little doctor's appointment!

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 18/11/2013 09:11

morning all.

DD was up again, most of the night.
I feel ill and the cold & snot make me feel sick.
No pregnancy signs apart from that, the wild exhaustion - and the change in my bowel movements (and results).

6 weeks today and I weighed myself this morning - so far it's the same as my pre-pg weight which is far too much

AuntieMaggie · 18/11/2013 09:27

Morning. Off to a meeting in Brum today and I've already.had a bottle of coke zero and some crisps on the train to try and ward off the slight nausea I have which is probably nerves.

Just been looking at my diary and work is manic between now and xmas :(

LemonLovely · 18/11/2013 09:59

6+2 and the first morning I almost puked on my 90-minute tube commute. :( Really hope I'm not going down the morning sickness road - up until now it's just been nausea but no actual vomiting.

Emergency plastic bags on hand already for commute home this evening. Can see myself being very popular on the tube! Can't wait till I'm able to wear a 'baby on board' badge and maybe get a seat for some of the 90 mins!

Ipsumlorem · 18/11/2013 10:43

Can't keep anything down - not even water as 2 sips seem to turn into a river of puke - sorry tmi I know Sad

Littleangel21 · 18/11/2013 11:33

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone could advise when the earliest you can have an external scan?

I have one booked for when I'm 7+2. I want to avoid going for this and them not seeing anything (due to it being too early) and me worrying that it's because there isn't anything! Has anyone had an external scan this early?

Thanks so much.

Xx

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 18/11/2013 11:40

Ipsum

those who are first timers will soon realize there's no such thing as TMI when it comes to pg and childbirth and the ones who have done it before already know - so don't worry about it at all!
(I hope that doesn't sound patronising)

Poor you, I'm sorry it's so bad for you already.
you might need anti sickness tablets - I think you should contact your GP.

I'm dreading the day I'll start puking again and that hopeless desperation of "is this ever going to end?"
Labour is nothing compared to the horrible months of queasiness and head in the loo.

I didn't make you feel better at all, did I? sorryBlush

liquidstate · 18/11/2013 11:42

choccy so sorry hope you have a successful sticky bean soon.

I am heaving 10 times a day but only once will produce any vomit. Sorry for TMI.

Just had my first full blown hormonal breakdown. Am so frustrated over scans. I havent got anything booked in yet and since this is my first pregnancy and I am over 40 its quite a worry. DH wont fork out for Harmony unless we have to. I don't see the midwife until over a weeks time when I will be nearly 9 weeks than I have to get a NHS scan booked in, get the results (which could take 2 weeks) before I find out if I need further scans. This uncertainty about the health of the bean and sickness means I just bawled my eyes out for 40 mins and looked up abortions on the web. In my mind I can't bond with bean or look forward to the birth until I have had all my scans and I know I am low risk.

So sorry if this offends anyone but I am feeling so lost today. To top it all I am behind with my work and can't concentrate. Sad

dollydaydream27 · 18/11/2013 11:52

Hi everyone , welcome and congrats to all the new people !
I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and planning to tell my manager at work eeeek quite nervous it's the first person I will have told(obviously except dp). Still very early days but I have to . It means everyone at work will have to find out too as the days go on. Iv got my first midwife booking in appointment on Friday too which I'm quite looking forward to .
Hoping to get scan date before Xmas I will be 11 weeks on 23rd dec ( seems ages away now ) . If not thinking of having a private scan that week it's £80 by me. Want to tell everyone at christmas but want the scan first to make sure everything's ok . Not sure if it's worth it or if I should just be patient.
Symptom wise I'm just tired with sore boobs . No real sickness ( sorry to everyone who has ) just a bit of nausea when hungry oh and I'm thirsty all the time .

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 18/11/2013 12:00

liquid

I'm so sorry you feel that way.
but please just try to be patient.
if there's no special reason to have an early scan surely that's a good thing, isn't it?
There is every chance your baby will be healthy and although I don't know that much about early scans I doubt too much could be deducted even at 9 weeks.

Please please don't cry. I know a lot of people have early scans for various reasons (NHS or private) and I totally respect that - I had early scans with two of ours.

but if it is only impatience why you want it early then I think you should save the money for buying lovely maternity clothes or the expensive pram you fell in love with.
It's only a few weeks or days difference and it will be worth the wait.

and don't tell me you are not bonding already - why else would you be so desperate to see baby?Wink

it's hard to fight those inquisitive urges - but it's a long journey till baby is in your arms, please try and be patien.
(hugs)

I'm also sending you a PM

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 18/11/2013 12:04

little angel

apparently it's not that uncommon.
you can expect a little circle or more.
heartbeat may or may not be visible, but if not detected it shouldn't alarm you - it's typically after 8 weeks that you could expect to see it!

you could ask for an internal scan or just skip it may I ask why do you need one?

Littleangel21 · 18/11/2013 12:10

Hi does zing,

Thanks for that. I just wanted one ASAP because I'm quite anxious about it. It's my first baby and I'm struggling with all the uncertainty!

Xx

PigsInParis · 18/11/2013 12:16

Gosh this thread moves fast!

Thanks to choccy I am so sorry to hear your latest updates.

little angel it's not reassuring but most areas book appointments similar to yours (mine included). They see you at 9 weeks roughly and book for a scan around 12 weeks. This is completely normal practice. It's only reoccurring mcs that would make them act faster. Hormones don't help the anxiety either! I hope you are feeling calmer soon. And I hope you feel you can bond with your baby soon.

I'm struggling at the moment too - exhaustion/fainting and nausea mean I'm pretty rubbish at the moment. I'm freelance so taking it easy today while the DC are at school but I'm dreading the paperwork I'll be returning to. I forgot how awful the first trimester is.

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 18/11/2013 12:26

little angel

it's my 7th and I'm struggling with that too!
It's totally normal to feel anxious and impatient.
And I'm a bit of hypocrit too, for the first time I'm tempted to have a private scan a bit earlier just so we could tell the kids on Christmas Eve, knowing everything is ok!

< tells self offGrin >

this time round I want to wait as long as possible before telling people as I'm not looking forward to rubbish comments and stupid questions and if I didn't have MN to talk about this pg I'd have a really difficult time keeping it a secret!

it's just so tricky impossible to be patient, isn't it?

do call me Zing!Smile

talulahbelle · 18/11/2013 12:27

I'm 4+2 today and am having loads of AF style cramps, but mainly in my sides and lower back.
Doesn't feel good, as other than sore boobs (less sore than previously) all my symptoms have gone.

jaykay987 · 18/11/2013 12:52

littleangel - I went for a scan when I though I was 7weeks but actually I was only 5+6. They manage to see immediately I was pregnant from an external scan. However they then did an internal and I saw everything including a heartbeat.

So if you're seven weeks you should see something if you do decide to have a scan.

baggyoldcow · 18/11/2013 13:15

Hello all, congratulations to everyone!
I'm hoping not to jinx things by joining in here, I'm theoretically due on 24 July...with number 4.
Talulah hang in there, I've no symptoms either, except feeling knackered and having only slightly sore boobs. Fingers crossed you're just having some 'growing' pains.

englishteacher78 · 18/11/2013 13:19

More frustration at my doctor's. Appointment was rubbish. Gave me flu jab, took my blood pressure and then printed off labels for the referring form and told me to go and book a midwife's appointment for the proper 'booking in' one. He 'poo pooed' my worries despite me telling him that it was my first pregnancy.
Anyway, went to book a midwife appointment. It's a large surgery with 14 consulting rooms. They have one midwife. One day a week. Unsurprisngly she's booked up until the 17th December! I do have some chronic health issues and my mum didn't have an easy pregnancy with me (hospitalised on and off from 6 months and emergency caesarean) and I would like to talk things through with a professional sooner than a month's time! Anyway, I told the receptionist that I really would like my booking in appointment earlier than that. And so I'm now seeing a doctor for my booking in appointment next Tuesday.
I don't think the doctor was impressed I came armed with a note book, pen and a list of questions and comments.

LadyGoneGaga · 18/11/2013 13:37

English that is very typical. I think there was a discussion about this, in fact your Doctor sounded like he did more than most. I'm not having my booking appointment until 10.5 weeks - this is with a history of Hypothyroidism and Gestational Diabetes. To be fair to them there is very little they can do in first tri anyway, it's all just a waiting game. I know it's frustrating though. If you have chronic health issues they will most likely class you as higher risk which will mean care will be shared between midwives and the consultant and some of your apointments will be at the hospital with a consultant. But you won't even get to see them until 16 weeks so going to have to learn to be patient or you are going to be very stressed! In the meantime you can find out soo much info online and in books etc.

I'm not sure it's a good idea having your booking appt with the GP - it's not their specialism and they will be guessing at many of the answers about the specifics of your care.
