Ok we don't. We're sick a lot, cry at adverts, moan about back/hip pain and if we got a quid for each new stretchmark generated we could all give up work and employ a nanny.

In fact if you know any teenagers feel free to show them our threads...we are the most effective contraceptive since sliced bread don't ask.

Ladies...as you were....

Yes to breathlessness. Especially on daily hr long dog walks which are all uphill.

Yes to pissy hands during sample pottage. Saw the midwife today who said "mmmmmm warm"!

My next visit is at home on the 8th nov! She said that she doesn't need to come to the house as I didn't look like I'm living in squalor. But fuck that, I want to bake her a cake! It's going to be awesome!

LittlePandaBear · 11/10/2013 18:27

Hello ladies,

I'm another one who is breathless!

My MatB form is now handed in and I should be finishing work on 16th Jan, with 3 weeks holiday after that before mat leave. Then not back until Jan 2015! My boss has already put a leaving lunch/handover in my calendar and my cover has been agreed from another team so I feel all prepared. Well, prepared for leaving work but maybe not for life with a newborn plus a 3 yr old.

I saw my my consultant on Wed as I'd had a section last time and he basically asked what I wanted to do this time around. No pressure, he said he didn't care whether I wanted to try for a natural birth or have another section, it was up to me! I have already decided to have a section and was all ready to justify why but he didn't even want to know reasons, which I guess is good. He just had to ask if I was planning more children as they won't do section after section. But that's fine as I'll be happy with my 2! I have to see him again at 36 weeks to confirm a decision. The section would be at around 39 weeks (obv unless anything starts happening sooner!).

I love the facebook bump pictures - especially the Rome ones and the toddler kissing belly one! Sorry I'm useless at remembering which facebook person is which mumsnet ID, too confusing! I only posted one bump pic about 5 weeks ago and have been too shy/lazy to post more so far but my bump is definitely getting bigger everyday. DD has started kissing it and I told her that her baby brother can hear her, so she started singing to him and I got a kick! Shame she didn't feel it but it was lovely.

I'm having a Mother to be massage tomorrow at a beauty salon, very excited! Hope it loosens up my aching joints and leaves me feeling relaxed.

Milkandtwo · 11/10/2013 18:39

Shropshire I will now be really paranoid, if my midwife books a home visit, that I must look like I live in squalor. Really must attempt to find my hairbrush which went walkies back in august sometime and double check for increasingly-common food stains on rack/bump.
On that note the rack is now 32GG, ffs. Pre-milk. With my skinny pins, when nude, I look like a frog.

EeyoreIsh · 11/10/2013 18:50

my house is a pretty much a building site so I'd love to see their reaction! I could show them the two rooms that are completed, neither of which are the master bedroom or nursery!

Zazou1 · 11/10/2013 19:44

Finally had our amnio results back today and all clear! Thank god. The relief is immense...it's not until after you get am answer to something that you realise how bloody stressed you've been!

They now thing the diabetes thing might be a rare pre-existing form-not type 1,2 or gestational-and if so it won't go after baby comes...having a test to see. Tbh as long as baby is ok, I don't care right now. He could still have blocked bowel but at least that's fixable Smile

Lovely to hear all scan news. Re breathlessness-omg I feel so unfit..get out if breath walking up the stairs at home!

Julietee · 11/10/2013 19:50

So glad for you, Zazou :)

Hurrah Zazou! Must be a huge sense of relief for you.

Yes to breathlessness also I have now developed attractive swollen ankles and feet at the end of every day/after about 30 mins of standing. NHS site says normal and to try to putt feet up for an hour a day. Gonna love trying that one if needed in the office!

I have a pee pot (GU ramekin) from my TTC days and find that easier to pee in first then decant to sample pot. Also no cause for confusion when making a drink, unlike the penis beaker thread!

Trying to narrow down nursery decor ideas. Any fellow team yellows got that far? I'm thinking pale yellow/buttermilk with some Winnie the Pooh wall stickers but not sure..

That's great news zazou

champagne my adorable dh also laughs at me wheezing up the stairs... He came into the room to show me something funny the other night. He'd been looking up plant pots and ancient greek vases the same shape as my bump Angry I think I might have married a 12 year old

Have been crawling round the (slate) kitchen floor this evening (long story...) and after several scrapes on sharp edges and a bit of swearing have concluded our house is pretty child un-friendly. I hope no midwives try and come on a home visit, they won't be too impressed.

sunflowered · 11/10/2013 22:44

sorry champagne, got my words the wrong way round. my dh laughs at me as I also wheeze up the stairs is what I meant to say. your dh is probably too considerate to laugh at you in the process!

Thisisfreakingmeout · 11/10/2013 22:45

Wonderful news Zazou! Hope the strange diabetes works out ok.

24 week check up with a doctor today. Apparently this is standard at my surgery. All is well, little monster kicked the heartbeat monitor off twice! It sounded good and strong. Grin

EeyoreIsh · 11/10/2013 22:53

Great news zazou Smile

Littlestgirlguide · 11/10/2013 23:22

Shropshire my midwife has made the home visit sound compulsory - she must think I live like a pig. TBF my house is not swanky but I do at least keep it clean and tidy. And surely the evidence of a healthy, happy 4 year old should be enough to prove I live somewhere acceptable for a small child?!

Milkandtwo · 12/10/2013 01:28

Breathlessness coupled with suspected chest infection (cold that has settled on my lungs making them feel tiny and bruised) equals inability to sleep! Have to stay upright or I can't breathe at all. And to top it off The Boy is moving about much less or at least I can't feel him as often or as strongly in the last 24 hours as I have been, which I don't like. I can feel him a bit though so I hope he's just moved and kicking me in the back which I can't perceive? The Bear is also giving me his Meat Face (TM) and I've run out of cat food so I have all the guilt he's laying on me to deal with too. DH merrily snoring away beside me. WOE is me, tonight. So tired and wishing for more oxygen, cat food and ability to take decongestants and sleeping pills! Meh.

Shropshiremummy2B · 12/10/2013 07:16

milk sadly there's no icon for [catfood] so can I tempt him with some Cake?

littlest my midwife is tres laissez fair, I wouldn't worry. But now I'm thinking more and more about it I'm worried my house isn't particularly baby friendly, there's not so much as a whiff of carpet to crawl on and she's going to get savaged by two feral spaniels.

I feel like I haven't slept at all. I can only sleep on my back and it's worrying the bejeezus out of me.

Poppy954 · 12/10/2013 07:48

Great news zazou and hope the rest of your tests go well.

Sorry to hear of those of you who are feeling anxiety.

Yes I'm breathless esp when talking for too long! Sleeping well though atm which is a blessing.

A home visit at the booking in appt was the norm when I had my others but that's gone now and I don't think they do one routinely at any stage. May be wrong. I haven't even seen 'my' midwife yet. I've been all over the place for appointments and seen a different mw every time.

jazz I'm finding being team yellow tricky. I'm only yellow because of unco-operative baby and although I'm now really excited that I'm going to experience 'the surprise' I can't find anything I want to buy. Even down to a changing mat! I think because most people find out now the Market for unisex is diminishing and it seems to be a choice between very bright primary colours or very dull beige!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Thingymajigs · 12/10/2013 08:04

Great news zazou. Smile
I'm joining you all with the breathlessness. Although baby has moved off my bladder now so that constant discomfort has gone. I've also slept brilliantly for a few days so I'm hoping I've turned a corner.
I did do the infamous wee sneeze though. Shock I've since been going crazy with the pelvic floor exercises.

Thingymajigs · 12/10/2013 08:05

Is anyone else getting pregnancy rage btw? I have posted on a thread in 'Pregnancy' about this and it seems pretty common. Everything about DP is annoying me lately.

winterflowers · 12/10/2013 08:07

Ah I'm so glad others have the breathlessness when talking...I go to meetings at work and can't lead them because of it half the time. Very disconcerting so good to know now it's the joys of pregnancy.

Am about to try preggo yoga for tje first time. Foing with a friend and will console ourselves for the earliness of it with a massive brunch afterwards. We're eating for two, right?

Incidentally said friend had a uti despite tje dip test coming bk clear. So don't be afraid to push your doctors at all

And zazou that's amazing news I'm so happy your little one is ok. I hope they give u some clear answers on the diabetes also but if it is a weird rare one good they have picked it up so you can start dealing with it.

Hapoy Saturday preggos

Poppy954 · 12/10/2013 08:37

thingy I'm quite chilled currently but I remember being permanently irritated by ds1 when I was pg with ds2. I'm sure it's natures way of preparing you and your partner / older children for the shift in relationships in the coming months when you won't have as much time for them.

Just been looking through the pictures on fb. There has been so much growth in last couple of weeks. It's lovely! I do like the ones with faces showing, helps me to remember who is who!

Poppy954 · 12/10/2013 08:54

That thread is very funny though thingy. Suggest everyone starts their weekend with a good laugh.

Great news Zazou - must be such a relief and now you can start to properly enjoy your pregnancy.

Jazz - my dd's room is lemon coloured walls with Winnie the Pooh stickers which she loves so always a good choice. X

I've had no rage whatsoever this time around. I had it big time when pregnant with DS - it's one of the main differences.

Poor DS is really poorly. He's one of those who never cries when he's hurting unless it's terrible, and I've been up all night with him crying and telling me he's so poorly. It's a cough and cold which he's had loads of, but I think the cough and sore throat is very severe. Confused There's nothing worse than your children suffering it's awful.
