Ok we don't. We're sick a lot, cry at adverts, moan about back/hip pain and if we got a quid for each new stretchmark generated we could all give up work and employ a nanny.

In fact if you know any teenagers feel free to show them our threads...we are the most effective contraceptive since sliced bread don't ask.

Ladies...as you were....

congrats on all the positive scan news Smile and congrats littleen in passing the 20 week mark, it's a good feeling.

I don't mean to be all whiny, but I'm so so so tired! I haven't slept well for days, and I'm just exhausted. To the point of feeling sick, which I know means my ms will come back again. I've got a crazy three weeks at work, including lots of travel, so the thought of it is just making me cry. Would it be awful to take tomorrow off sick, do the minimum I need at home, and spend the rest of the day sleeping? That way I might just make it through the next few weeks... my boss is just back from three weeks leave so he won't be impressed, but I seriously don't feel I can cope right now Sad I'm normally a workaholic, but I just feel so exhausted.

vix206 · 07/10/2013 19:40

Eeyorish take the day off. You need the rest Wink

gnittinggnome · 07/10/2013 19:42

eeyoreish that sounds like such a grim scenario - tired, tiredness bringing on the MS, a grumpy boss... If it were me I would take a preventative day off, and rest up as much as possible. If you're exhausted you probably won't be bringing Ms Professional Eeyorish to the office, so I'd go for really strong 90% of the time over lacklustre and upset about it.

Re my ghastly night last night, I'm so glad to have done some research about Gaviscon and been told that diarrhoea is one of the side effects. Which I am hoping means that I am not harbouring dangerous bacteria. Haven't eaten anything apart from a half a pot of plain yoghurt and a slice of sourdough toast, but lovely DH has bought up the entire Canary Wharf supply of Lucozade, so I'm getting some calories.

Don't know what to think about Bean though - he's been all over the shop today - bouncing here there and everywhere, really really active. I'm hoping it's a response to the internal landslide soundscape not distress - I'm feeling a lot better and he's bopping away like nobody's business, still. I'm worrying over nothing, aren't I? I'd probably be way more worried if I felt nothing at all...

And I think it was all started by a miniature bottle of M&S Chablis. The shame.

Eeyorish - take tomorrow off and the day after if you need it. There's no point trying to continue while you're exhausted - it'll only get worse. I tried and in the end had to give in. Hope you're feeling better soon. X

EeyoreIsh · 07/10/2013 20:40

Thanks all, sorry for the little pity party! I think I'll take tomorrow off unless I miraculously have an excellent night's sleep. I definitely can't take weds or Thursday off, they'll be long and busy days at work and I need to be on top form for them.

LittlePandaBear · 07/10/2013 20:42

Lovely to hear about all of the scan news :)

I got offered a seat on the train home today (coat undone!) - first by a young woman which I said no to, I felt guilty taking her seat even though she looked perfectly capable of standing. Then a guy in front of where I was standing offered me his seat and stood up at the same time so I couldn't really refuse. I felt a bit guilty though but 20 mins on a busy train standing wouldn't have been fun. Why do I feel guilty taking a woman's seat but not a man's?!

I have a new phone and tried to get on mumsnet today on my journey home, only for a message to pop up that it was for 'over 18's' and I had to call customer services to access it and remove the block! Ridiculous! I am very much over the age limit, and it's hardly porn anyway! And now if I call to unblock it they will think I'm looking at rude things Blush

I'm seeing my Consultant on Wed to discuss birth options, and I think I want another section. A friend of mine has seen him too and says he's lovely so hopefully he'll just give me the facts and listen to what I want without too much pressure!

We think we've agreed on Leo for a name now, it was going to be DD's name if she'd been a boy and although I'm a little worried by it's popularity, it just feels right and no other name seems like 'the one'. Plenty of time to keep thinking though.

Littlestgirlguide · 07/10/2013 20:43

Eeoreish take tomorrow off if you need it. Either a day now or a week later when overwork and exhaustion make you really ill.

I've had today off work. Exactly the same reaction to Gaviscon as Gnittingnome Blush but feeling loads better for just sleeping for most of the day. Back to work tomorrow, but only. A 3 day week.

I've also managed to order this: www.asos.com/Mamalicious/Mamalicious-Lace-Detail-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3003043&cid=6413&Rf-300=1920&Rf-200=4&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=Black
Off ASos, for the wedding this weekend. Hopefully it will arrive in time, it says delivery on or before Friday, wedding is Saturday.... Are Asos usually good, it's the first time I've ordered from them!

LittlePandaBear · 07/10/2013 20:44

Oh and eeyore, it sounds like you do need sleep, work can wait a day or so!

Littlepanda mine is Leo too Grin excellent choice!

LittlePandaBear · 07/10/2013 21:20

Have you thought of middle names yet Laura, if you're having a middle name? I'm thinking Joshua but still open to ideas! Would quite like three syllables for some reason. Leo is a great name for a baby, boy and a man I think! I did always think that if I had a girl this time I'd be a bit sad for never having our little Leo, so think I should stick with it now I know it's a boy :)

Somanychanges · 07/10/2013 21:37

Great to hear all the scan news. Eeyorish it sounds like you need that day off to get some energy back. I had a similar thing on friday, I came home from dropping children at school I felt so tired and breathless. I was then sick and felt so bad I had to lay down. I ended up in bed for the whole day until pick up time at schools. I am so glad I did as I felt so much better over the weekend and although still exhausted I can cope much better.

I definitely feel pregnant now, there is no mistaking it. Tummy is growing by the day, little chap constantly kicking my bladder, I have started producing milk Shock which has never happened to me before giving birth previously and I am having regular and painful braxton hicks.

I actually feel like I have done my 9months and am ready to have baby now. Can we please fast forward to February?

laura0007 · 07/10/2013 21:50

He's going to be Leo Elliot! I love the name Elliot but my friends little boy is called Elliot so I'm having it as a middle name instead!

Shropshiremummy2B · 07/10/2013 22:39

Leo Elliot is super cute laura. Does the father know its a boy? I hope you don't mind me asking. I thought that he sadly might be a bit more interested if he knows its a boy. This is based on my experience of most boys wanting a boy. Although DH told me that you can get pink fishing rods. Joy.

I want to know what I'm having. Wish there was a wives tale that was 80% accurate so that there was still some element of surprise.

Oh and forgot to say, finally felt my baby! It's real. It's happening. Started to feel it over the weekend and am now being booted at regular intervals. I am finally feeling preggo!

Poppy954 · 08/10/2013 06:38

Brilliant news about all the scans and movements and names! The theme seems to be 'I really feel pregnant now'
Funnily two people said to me yesterday 'there's no mistaking you are pregnant now' which I thought was nice but a bit odd as I'd thought that was the case a few weeks ago but when I got home I seemed to have grown massively. My husband commented on it and my pyjamas wouldn't fit for the first time. I also felt really uncomfortable
sitting at work and for the first time wondered how I'll
manage another 16 weeks of sitting.

Shropshire I know what you mean about gender. I knew with my other two and would've done with this one if it had been cooperating. I would like to know but I am also really excited about the thought of finding out on the day as I've never experienced that before. When it comes to it I'll be glad I didn't know.

Have we got any scans left? If so good luck.

laura0007 · 08/10/2013 07:17

Glad your finally feeling baby Shrops.
I've made no attempt to let daddy know anything, when I last spoke to him he said he wasn't interested and didn't want to know anything. But, we are friends on Facebook so I do regularly update with news about baby purely so he can see it. He may say he's not interested but he must be slightly curious and he hasn't deleted me yet! So yes I'll put money on the fact he knows it's a boy.
Sad really. He's the one missing out.

sunflowered · 08/10/2013 07:51

Poppy someone asked if I was pregnant for the first time at the weekend - that was another big milestone Smile

Laura you're right - he'll be the one missing out on all the firsts for your little boy and all the everyday things that you'll be enjoying come february. You never know, he might become interested when it becomes more real for him, but it sounds like little leo's got a switched-on mum who'll more than make up for it if he doesn't.

Julietee · 08/10/2013 07:51

Shropshire There is! Kind of.
I read in a book called 'Bumpology' that stats show if you have a gut feeling about the sex (and are not being pressured by societal expectations etc) that you have a 70% chance of being right!

Totally was the case for me - I've had boy vibes from very early on and was confirmed in that yesterday :)

vix206 · 08/10/2013 07:56

I was sure this one was a girl too, and she is Grin

laura0007 · 08/10/2013 08:03

Thanks sunflowered Smile

I knew he was a boy before it was confirmed at the scan too! People kept saying no you're having a girl, but I was like no, it's definitely a boy! And I was right!

Shropshiremummy2B · 08/10/2013 08:43

Well I've got no idea! I suppose if you held a gun to my head I'd guess boy but my family is a all girls so everyone's expecting another. Which I'd be more than happy with. My gut no longer has enough room for an instinct. I'm mahoooosive.

That's good that he can see if he wants to laura. Bet you a squillion that once you start posting the pictures he'll come round. Do you keep in touch with his family at all?

gnittinggnome · 08/10/2013 09:05

Julietee that's interesting - Mum was convinced I was having a girl, and I'd always thought I'd prefer a girl, but as soon as I got knocked up I started thinking that having a little boy would be completely great, and had a very strong feeling that I was carrying a boy. Which has been confirmed by scans. (They may yet be wrong, we've chosen a back-up girl's name - Alice - in case, but I really feel like Bean is a little chap.)

laura0007 · 08/10/2013 09:41

No I don't really know them. Only met his mum and dad a couple of times. We were only together about 6 months so it was more about sex than meeting his family! Hence Leo lol!
