Pseudo it can be attached to the bed if we fancy, but it seems pretty sturdy just sitting next to the bed, so we'll probably just leave it like that!

MoN I hope that Eliana (beautiful name!) gets stronger every day, you are one strong lady!

Shirehobbit · 25/09/2013 19:55

Domino's every time, Pseudo Grin

BowlFullofJelly · 25/09/2013 20:01

Pizza hut!

PseudoBadger · 25/09/2013 20:06

I went for Pizza Hut. Hawaiian and cheesy garlic bread on their way....

OrangeBlossom2 · 25/09/2013 20:10

Never heard of dates, will add that to my "to try" list. Lots of the labour speeding up things seem to be linked to making you poo...

Pineapple makes my mouth sore these days too. Not sure that it did pre pregnancy.

I have the angelcare monitor. Bought second hand on ebay so about the same cost as a normal monitor, you can turn off the movement sensor if you want to.

DH out at hockey training so watching old episodes of OBEM had stored on sky plus with my swollen feet up.

The injection to speed up the placenta is on my "to research" list, although at the moment I have said no unless it takes ages in my birth plan. My sisters came naturally after 7 minutes as she stood up to get out of the pool so hoping for the same. I also want to read about the necessity of episiotomies for small tears after reading birth plan someone posted on fb (thanks)

GTbaby · 25/09/2013 20:10

Karma. Your cot can't be touching the bed at all as it will pick up your movement.

I loved the angel care movement monitor. So easy to use.
I also used the tommy teepee one. Just not as good.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 25/09/2013 20:21

Thanks ladies! Thought I was being hopeful!! Never mind.
I had an angel care monitor for ds but to be honest it drove me insane and I stopped using it! Same with video monitor,I kept looking at him asleep and checking he was breathing. Couldn't ever relax. SIDS is pretty rare when they are in with you and then once they are in their own rooms they are normally past the SIDS risk I think......... This time I've just got a normal bt monitor that does nothing fancy. I'll probably still drive myself mad but at least I won't have spent lots of money!!!

cazboldy · 25/09/2013 20:37

will catch up later.

feel a bit of a twit. Just back from triage, after being monitered (after waiting for ages), because I managed to fall over when leading my horse earlier when a pig appeared on the other side of the hedge.

I have a scraped arm, grazed knee, and bruised pride. Panicked a bit - especially when LO refused to move, so went to get checked out, but very pleased to report all is well with us both.

OrangeBlossom2 · 25/09/2013 20:39

Poor you Caz. Not a situation many of us city dwellers come across! Scary for you with the lack of movement, glad all is ok.

claphammama · 25/09/2013 20:43

glad all is good caz! good you went to be checked - you never know. And who cares about bruised pride :-)

Natalieand · 25/09/2013 20:51

Sorry u had a scare caz pleased to hear that all is good with baby though :-)

I will just be using a bf standard monitor too. Same one I used with dd, I originally had a video one with dd but like someone else said I got OCD watching it

Hope u manage to get some rest tonight GT

I'm having pizza too pseudo but home cooked rubbish lol u deffo made the right decision going for Pizza Hut! I'm in love with their all you can eat lunch time buffet

Shootingstarsandcomets · 25/09/2013 20:52

Oh dear, they don't like pigs do they! Glad all well though caz

Natalieand · 25/09/2013 20:52

Not a bf standard monitor..... I meant to say a bog standard monitor lol x

Pinkforboys · 25/09/2013 20:55

Caz glad you're okay. Love the fact that your horse was scared by a pig. Not a sentence I'm likely to utter around north london!

GT good luck tonight!

I had the Vitamin K injection after DS- it was pretty much advised by our a-natal teacher. I can't remember why, but seemed innocuous. (note to self to read up again)

I never had an angelcare monitor, but was always jumpy about DS in cot. I remember the first time he slept thru- I was terrified that he wasn't breathing- never got out of bed so fast!

whistling I'm same as you and had same discussion today with consultant. He advised a sweep a week I think before due date- to be discussed with MDU next week. My induction is 40+1 but he explained as it's before 41w there's a higher risk of c-section, tho being ancient there's a higher risk of still birth if wait til 41w. Nice dilemma Sad

Pinkforboys · 25/09/2013 20:58

ps- I'm sposed to be out with fellow Year 2 mums tonight and I've bailed on the grounds of being knackered and grumpy. And I really can't face sitting in a pub nursing a soft-drink and swallowing back acid. I also have perverse urge to be rude to people today Confused. Best to keep low until the urge passes over!
off to go grumble insanely in the corner

ananikifo · 25/09/2013 21:00

I'm glad you're well, caz. That's totally not a story that would ever happen to me!

Mw is coming tomorrow for a pre-home birth visit and DH and I have had a huge, screaming fight about cleaning in preparation. I'm so sick of living with boxes and so frustrated about my inability to deal with them by myself.

Then we cleaned the downstairs (assuming she's not coming to inspect all the rooms!) and sat down to relax and there was a knock in the door. It was our new priest! He's been offering to visit since we registered with this church. I was braless in my non-matching pyjamas, with my feet up. Blush It was a bit surreal but actually good because he told us we could probably have a baptism while my parents are here in November. He was very interested in DH's job for a wine company and dropped tons of obvious hints about how much he likes red wine. How cheeky. It was pleasant overall but very unexpected and makes me think I should be wearing my new "loungewear" instead of pyjamas. DH gave him a bottle of wine to take home and admitted I was right about the need to keep the house clean so everyone was happy. Grin

ananikifo · 25/09/2013 21:07

Oh and I should say I'm having a physiological third stage but the NCT teacher said you would normally get the injection before the baby is fully delivered so it can't really happening a water birth anyway. (I hope that makes sense). I would refuse it in a non-water birth as well but DH and I can't remember why!

We'll be doing delayed cord cutting so baby gets as much blood as possible.

And finally I'm having the vitamin k injection because I don't see a good reason to refuse it and then mess around with drops.

Wickedgirl · 25/09/2013 21:11

Caz........did the horse spook at the pig? I won't bring my DDs pony up on the yard any more in case he does something silly while I'm leading him. He never has before but he is only 5 so could do something unpredictable. I hope you're ok?

I'm not going to use a baby monitor at all. For the first couple of months, the baby will only ever be a few feet away from me and after that I will hear the baby if it cries any way.

Pink.......vit k helps with blood clotting in newborns. Mine will be having the injection after its born too.

Pinkforboys · 25/09/2013 21:14

Oh God, just realised I've got my Vitamin K injection and placenta inducing thing all confused. I am SO out of touch. I'd better invest some time in some proper birth research as I've evidently forgotten everything Confused

PseudoBadger · 25/09/2013 21:15

I wouldn't consider delayed cord clamping as DS had polycythemia when born (too many red blood cells) and spent time in nicu and then had awful jaundice. We don't know why he had it but it is a recognised risk of delayed clamping.

OrangeBlossom2 · 25/09/2013 21:34

Oh god I should stop watching these programs. Sobbing my eyes out over OBEM episode where a baby died. Sad

We will be asking for delayed clamping as long as no reason to cut quickly.

favellio · 25/09/2013 21:35

Started a words with friends game with you gtbaby Smile

MrsHoratioNelson · 25/09/2013 21:39

Lots of pizza tonight - I've been out with a girlfriend for pizz which was nice.

Caz glad to hear you're ok, I know how scary it is to have a fall at this stage!

Pseudo when they say risk, what sort of delay were they talking about? I've heard that they would only wait long enough for it to stop pulsating? I've not been told about any risks.

MrsHoratioNelson · 25/09/2013 21:44

Orange that one caught me out too - I missed the warning at the beginning and I was in bits Sad

takingachance · 25/09/2013 21:46

caz wicked I'm still bringing the horses in and out, mucking out, etc but did snap a little sharply at my little mare when she nudged my tummy! Not really her fault - I am trying to be careful, but no-one else to look after the 4 of them! Think they will have to live out for a few days when i go into labour and then DH can throw some hay in! Luckily they are at home... x
