Hello ladies.. the previous thread is almost full so I thought it's time to move on to a new one to mark the start of trimester 2. Here's to fewer bouts of sickness and more "glowing" all around!

babies wriggle all over the place at this stage! i've never heard of them being face down linked to DS?? that seems quite random, so please don't worry over it!

my scan seems ages away. 5th December,

i have a giant list of names for both sexes, although have a feeling this is a boy!

badfurday · 14/11/2013 13:42

I am being rescanned on the 29th, tempted to book a private one for next Saturday.
She said he/she was lying over my tummy, if that makes sense? She told me to go and have a coffee to see if that moves him about. Managed to get measurements for BPD, HC,AC and FL and all are normal. But couldn't see vital organs, hence needing to be rescanned. She also said his arm was up by its face. I googled this and someone said it could be a sign of Downs. I'm worrying unnecessarily arnt I?

exciting stuff. they are little future people Smile

LeeHandy · 14/11/2013 21:56

glad your scan went well chaffinch!
I had my scan yesterday and it went well and we are having a boy as well! lots of boys in a row here.. Grin we started looking at boys names, and I agree they are definitely not as fun as girls names..

badfurday don't worry about face down, my baby was face down as well and it took the operator (?) ages to get all the measurements done. he kept asking me to turn over and turn back, he also sent me out for a walk and a snack but it wasn't much good. the lazy little baby just didn't want to move. Grin but he got the measurements done at least even though the pictures are worse than the ones we got at 12 weeks.

we are off on holiday for 2 weeks on Saturday morning and it's my birthday, so I can't wait! Grin Grin

hope you had a good scan cannot! good luck to all the others who have them coming up as well.

It's a boy!!! He was sucking his thumb too!! Grin

wendle70 · 15/11/2013 09:03

Ah congrats cannot! How cute sucking its thumb in the womb! Mine's a boy too. I also cannot think of any boys names I like! I have a bit of experience with girls (having a much younger sister and my DH has 2 little girls) so I started thinking I might not be any good with boys ...but then spent a lovely weekend staying with some friends in the country with 2 cute boys. They were so gorgeous and just as affectionate and not so different...it's just dinosaurs, pirates and underpants instead of princesses and fairies. Fell in love with them both and can't wait for my little boy!

light are you still feeling sick??For me week 16/17 has been all much better ..feel pretty much back to normal apart from one random puke last Sat.

Oh while I remember in case this helps anyone..I had these very mild but sharp pains on my left side of my abdomen. Midwife said to go in to get checked but all fine and just baby trying to get some more room and pressing on nerves..

17w today

Ps anyone read call the midwife book? What an eye opener! So relieved I am having a baby now and not in 50s!

We have the name sorted xx it's going to be Ryder Dominic (last name) Grin

It needed to be something that goes with my DS's name!

nevergoogle · 15/11/2013 10:36

Good name, I'm impressed with those of you able to make decisions on names. I change my mind daily. Currently Orlaith or Ted but have a fairly long list that I expect will be coming to the hospital with me.

One more week until the scan.

BeansAndCheese · 15/11/2013 17:51

Wow loads of boys! That pink fairy dust must have worn off! I was dreading a girl because of names,so I'm quite relieved. I have some ideas for boys names but don't want to choose until nearer the time, partly because no ones allowed to know until he is born!

I have read the call the midwife books. Makes you realize how lucky our generation is to have ultrasounds.

20 + 0 (halfway there!!!)

nevergoogle · 15/11/2013 17:57

congratulations on getting halfway!

save some pink fairy dust for me please.

LightTripper · 15/11/2013 21:09

Ooh, well done everybody thinking of names already! My poor little girl is going to have to wait until we see her I think, but we haven't even got a short list, so will need to sort that out!

Thanks for asking after me wendle, glad you are feeling better! I seem to have plateaued a bit, but not too bad. Have managed not to throw up for a week, but still rough in the evenings. Am currently away on a ladies weekend, and having a nice time in the day, but having to let the other ladies go to dinner on their own in the evenings! Still, the apartment has wifi and a fridge, so really not doing too badly in the scheme of things. It's all manageable now, which is really not how I felt 6 weeks ago!

Have lovely weekends all xx

BlessedAssurance · 16/11/2013 01:31

Congratulations to all who have had their scans. We are having a boy too, it seems like it's going to be a world of boys:-) Cannot we have chosen Dominic as well middle name Elias for now. Have no idea if he will look like one..
Got a bit scared when I found out I was having a boy, would i love him the same way as DD, would i be a good mum? I just worried for about a day then got over it.:-)

BlessedAssurance · 16/11/2013 01:37

Leehandy may l be the first to congratulate you on your birthday today. Best wishes to you and happy birthday:-) ;-) Cake and these for you Thanks

BlessedAssurance · 16/11/2013 02:00

Oh and I am no longer in the April group, apparently i was 20+4 when I went for the scan, not 18 as first suspected. Midwife pushed back due date and i was not pleased. I was hoping for a VBAC this time and hope that by pushing the due date back is not going to increase my chances of being induced again. I went two weeks over with DD and the doc said he had to take the baby out, hopefully not this time

patsy375 · 16/11/2013 08:00

Happy Birthday Leehandy.

After a worrying start to my week with pain and a trip to hospital I'm finishing it on a much nicer note with an overnight stay at a spa hotel Smile
Have purchased a maternity costume for the occasion though must admit I'm a little anxious about spending the day exposing quite so much of my "curvy" new figure! Blush
Wishing you all happy and healthy weekends.

Blessed you can stay in the April group' we have others who have stayed

Great choice with Dominic! We are having it as his middle name as it's hubby's name and he chose it!

17 weeks today Grin

LightTripper · 16/11/2013 08:12

Happy birthday LeeHandy!

BlessedAssurance · 16/11/2013 10:58

Cannot, i quite like it here so i will be staying. Thanks. Dominic i a lovely name and me being a christian also love the meaning. I hope you don't mind my loved one stealing your DH and son's nameSmile

BlessedAssurance · 16/11/2013 11:05

On a totally unrelated matter, in Norway where i live they have this thing where when it is exam time, the state picks a few students to take the state exam eg in a class of 30 only 7 will be randomly picked. The rest will have to be judged and graded on past tests. I am doing Alevels and i had only one subject left, maths. For the past two years i have been very lucky and didn't come up for the exam. Then on friday it was my time, so i am one of the few students picked to take the maths exam while the rest sail into the sunset and take it easy, prepare for the last test. Luckily i am well prepared this time so i hope it will ok but still...I am too busy being pregnant to care about examsSmile

purplesonnet · 16/11/2013 13:12

Yep prettyinpink90, we do have the same due date. I don't think dealing with Labour pains is going to make it a very good Friday though lol, though at least it will be here.

I've been showing for some time but I've noticed the last few days how I'm going from having a bump, to the weight going all round. Going to end up looking like a barrel and I keep hitting things with my ass lol

18 + 1

ChaffinchOfDoom · 16/11/2013 17:23

blessed what a system! so only 7 students in each class get exam stress! that sounds good in some ways, bad in others.
congratulations on your boy; boys are different to girls but I found certain things much much easier -
toddlers needing to pee in a carpark - easier with boys Grin
they seem to be easier to please regards toys - cars/superheroes
less hair to wash and dry at swimming...

Interestingly Dominic made our shortlist too! like the Nic sound, Nicholas is nice too.

ChaffinchOfDoom · 16/11/2013 21:21

anyone else with hip / knee pain Hmm

very bad at times, then wears off
