Sparke the BBD comment made me laugh out loud :D I can't do it as I'm not UK based sob. I usually ignore those email until I saw chocolate featured haha.

falcon good luck! Hope things progress well today. p-buttons and badger I hope it goes well at the hospital today for you both. Good luck to anyone else with hospital/MW today too.

mrsO I'm sorry about your DH, could it be he is scared now D-day approaches rapidly and the technical talk freaks him out? Men can be bloody annoying at times - can't live with them but can't live without.

kiwee · 13/09/2013 08:53

Congratulations skull and legally!! Such lovely names (2 of the 3 are on our shortlist too!).

For anyone else struggling with bras I discovered Bravado Essential Embrace Nursing Bra - they go up to a HH/J (UK sizing) in certain back sizes. Only seem to be available on their website but ship to UK/ USA/ most of Europe. Have ordered a couple of sizes in the hope of finding a comfortable bra that will take me through the next few weeks and a size bigger for breastfeeding, not received them yet as had to get them shipped via my mum's as they can't send them direct to NZ but have high hopes......

Baby still in footling breech position here and my midwife doesn't think ECV would be successful so waiting for an obstetric appt next week to hopefully book in for c-section. It's been breech since at least 26/40 so not holding my breath for it turn on it's own!

Hope those with pre-eclampsia settle down soon.

SeriousStuff · 13/09/2013 09:00

Pseudo I'm so glad you were out relatively quickly and that all is good (and that you got home in one piece!)

Falcon whoo-hoo! See your last post was 2.5 hours ago...I'm going to take that as a sign that things are progressing nicely, unless you've just gone back to bed!

MrsO I would've kicked right off! I snapped at DH the other day because he said he'd prefer not to read too much around birth/arrival of baby as he figures you can read too much (which is true, but reading a bit won't hurt!) and he'll work things out as we go along (but what this means is it'll fall on me to know what to do). It really infuriated me. Haven't discussed it since as it will only increase my BP. Do you think maybe he's reached the stage where he's just trying to delay the inevitable?

MrsO27 · 13/09/2013 09:04

sparkeleigh That's the last thing I said to him last night before going to bed (when I was speaking through his programme!!)
I know he'll likely apologise, wise up and be fine on the day, and maybe i just need to allow for him having off days too as this is our first child and i'm sure the menfolk have their wobbles like we do, but I'm not letting him off with this one without some genuine reasurance from him that he'll be more supportive going forward. Have cancelled dinner so will see what tonight brings...

MrsO27 · 13/09/2013 09:10

serious x post, that's kind of how I feel, it will all be on me to remember everything, give instructions, make decisions etc. when all I want when the time comes is to trust him to be my voice when I'm not "with it" and not be asking 20 questions because he hasn't listened or been interested earlier!

PseudoBadger · 13/09/2013 09:13

On my way back to the hospital now and I'm going to have a yukky yummy McDonalds breakfast on the way :o

Flyer747 · 13/09/2013 09:29

Thanks Mrs O I know fully how annoying it can be, having had problems with dp in my pregnancy. I hope he apologises and realises what an arse he has been with you, good for you cancelling your dinner arrangements.

I said to dp last night about not drinking after about 38 weeks after seeing you ladies discussing drinking bans and I was told "What a load of rubbish, it's a good job we live close to the hospital and can get a taxi in that case" I wanted to rip his head off Grin I've put my mums name down as birthing partner just in case he is drunk. In this pregnancy I'm starting to think he has become a real narcissist!

Warlin · 13/09/2013 09:31

Ah how did I miss legallys post yesterday.....massive congrats on Hugo and Valentina Flowers. So glad you're on the mend...so jealous you have it over! Can't wait to see pics!

clapham last day of work there.....ever!!!! Yippee enjoy walking out and being free!!

sparkleigh I applied to be a chocolate taster too..would be amazing but I never seem to get picked for these things :(

37+ 2 here and past the point where ds was born. I'm so torn as I really want baby here and labour over with NOW but yet ds has had a bug and has been a nightmare sleep- wise and is really clingy at the moment. Slightly shitting myself about the realities of having 2 plus a dog...in the winter. I'm so tired now so what will I be like without any sleep?!

pseudo glad you're out but hoping baby comes soon. I had a McDonalds breakfast yesterday and was gutted that as a veggie I had to have porridge :( they were out of bagels.

Come on little mon... I feel another baby coming on.

Flyer747 · 13/09/2013 09:33

Oh and to add when I told him I'd put my mums name down as a birthing partner he didn't like the idea......Tough Titties DP Grin

Haylebop12 · 13/09/2013 09:36

Morning ladies.

falcon really hope things are progressing for you and you'll be cuddling you baby very soon!

Sorry to hear your dh is acting the way he is mrso I had this during my first pregnancy but put it down to the fact dh and I were living 100 miles apart until I was 34 weeks so he had no choice really. Like you say, might have web an off day and when he thinks about how much it upset you he will apologize and you can put it all behind you.

SC here at 35+5. Mw appt this morning. BP and unrime fine but bloods came back to show I'm anaemic! Shocked tbh but getting my prescription later. Any tips on how to manage with them as I understand they can make you fairly constipated? Baby is 4/5 palpable and she said that meaning 1/5 is down in my pelvis. I expected him to be further down tbh but at least he's going in he right direction. Also booking my WC vaccine for next week as she definitely recommended it. Surprised she hast mentioned it before since she was dead keen on telling me how wonderful it is!

Next appt in two weeks at 37+5, same gestation as I had dd so exciting Grin she suggested I get my back sorted by next week.

Haylebop12 · 13/09/2013 09:39

*bag not back!

flyer my mum, hopefully will also be at the birth. She's the practical one. Dh will probably be on his phone!

clapham come on, the last stretch... You can do it!!!

diege · 13/09/2013 09:45

Morning Smile Well placenta scan yesterday was rather, shall we say, 'interesting'. Placenta is still low, though not covering cervical os (sort of to the side). I'm being rescanned in 3 weeks, so will see where things are then (37 weeks). The 'interesting' thing is that I think I will need a section anyway as baby is measuring 42 weeks Shock (I'm currently 34+3). Now I know their measurements can be drastically out, but it was quite disconcerting to see every body part measuring between 41 and 43 weeks. Consultant isn't too concerned Hmm though says if I had him today est weight would be 7ib 6, and around 11ib est at 40 weeks. I do feel my body can't take much more (I'm only a size 8 frame with a humongous bump) so possibly won't last more than a few weeks anyway. Sorry for the rather self-indulgent post but feel a bit better now it's down on paper!

Natalieand · 13/09/2013 09:47

hayle my midwife said second baby's don't usually engage until labour so don't be disappointed that he is only a little engaged. Also I have been on iron tablets since 30 weeks and I'm 35+4 today and have had no constipation at all so if doesnt so it too everyone's xxx

roofio87 · 13/09/2013 09:52

Morning!! SC here at 37 weeks!! full term now and keep having to remind myself that its best if baby doesn't quite come yet as dp's new car won't be here till next week, but im just desperate for his arrival now. im just too excited!!
sorry to those with unenthusiastic partners, its so easy for them to forget we're having a baby but we never do and so think about it all a lot more!!
I am enjoyiny ML I have to say, could not still be at work now!!

Haylebop12 · 13/09/2013 09:56

nat I'm not disappointed but I just feel like he's really low, like practically gonna fall out Grin also glad to hear you've had no problems with iron tablets.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 13/09/2013 10:02

Morning ladies,

Pleased you are now heading home Pseudo and keeping my fingers crossed for Falcon

diege - gosh, mixed news. I guess you'll just have to play it by ear and see how things stand at the next scan (perhaps baby has just had a bit of a growth spurt and things will slow down?). I don't think your post is self-indulgent - I would be feeling rather disconcerted by baby measuring that size too. Good to know they are a healthy weight if he/she was to come early though.

Is anybody else struggling to decide where to give birth? I know it may all boil down to where has space when I turn up, but keep mentally going back and forth between the MLU and the standard delivery suite.

cazboldy · 13/09/2013 10:23

Bridget - I keep changing my mind between bedroom/ living room Grin

MotherOfNations · 13/09/2013 10:26

Try and get some rest today Pseudo after your eventful night.

Hope everything's progressing nicely Falcon.

MrsO No wonder you're annoyed. Men can be such idiots sometimes.

I was on the way to school with Linah today when I told her that I was feeling sick and dizzy. She said "Go home, have a cup of coffee and a wee lie down and I'll do all the cleaning when you collect me from school". So cute. I'll have the coffee and the lie down but I'll do the housework myself.

HotSoupDumpling · 13/09/2013 10:33

Hayle, like Nat I'm on iron tablets and haven't suffered. I've tried to drink lots of liquids and kept my vegetable/whole fruit intake up.

TheFalconsmistress · 13/09/2013 10:35

WEnt back to bed was right1 it eased off after my 6th poo of the morning sorry tmi so I tried to get some rest back im now back to feeling very uncomfortable I lost too much mucus and was in too much pain for it not be to happening today so she better get a wiggle on!

Natalieand · 13/09/2013 10:43

Not long falcon its a shame u have had to hang around all week when the hospital could have offered u a sweep or something to help the process along a little. Hopefully u will be holding little willow before u no it xxx

I've got my whooping cough vaccine in half an hour and I'm absolutely dreading it

JellyCurls · 13/09/2013 10:56

Hope it starts again and progresses this time falcon

Nat WC vaccine wasn't sore but my arm bloody hurts now

MoN my DD kisses and cuddles bump at school gates every morning and tells baby not to be a wee rascal and kick mummy but to let mummy get a nice rest - wish she would work her magic on DS

Pannacotta2013 · 13/09/2013 11:14

36+5 here, and SC. I don't think I'm going to be early, I think I'll be late - that might be wishful thinking as I've got so much to do still. I'm having to put the home birth home visit check thing off because we aren't getting carpet til next Tuesday, and the flat still looks like a refugee camp. Or some art exhibition of mess and junk.

Hayle eat lots of steak and spinach! The mw keeps being surprised by my high iron levels but luckily I'm very fond of red meat and green veg (as well as chocolate and cake...Grin). Some people recommend Spatone liquid for iron if the tablets give you constipation.

legally and skull, congratulations on your little bundles of joy Smile.

And good luck falcon, tarlia and others gearing up for labour or monitoring.

MrsO I'm very sensitive to how much support I feel I'm getting from my partner (like most if us I guess), it must be rubbish to feel like he isn't prioritising you right now, when you are so vulnerable. I feel for you, and hope he pulls his finger out. Manchild. Sad.

MotherOfNations · 13/09/2013 11:15

Aww jelly. She sounds like a wee sweetie. Everyone's told me they think she'll be really jealous when Eliana arrives but I don't think so. She went through a phase a while ago of saying that she she didn't want to be a big sister but we explained that she'd still be a wee sister to the older 3 she was fi

MotherOfNations · 13/09/2013 11:17

Fine.
