Well, Elodie is 3.5oz into her expressed feed and I am praying for a better night while drinking wine and trying not to fall asleep.

I think my aspirations of her taking 25oz and sleeping until Monday might be a bit wide of the mark though.

Cavort · 27/09/2013 22:46

I don't believe it, she's downed 6.5oz! The most expressed she's ever taken in one hit. Oh please, please let this result in some lovely, lovely sleep and not projectile vomit.

BelissimaLol · 27/09/2013 22:47

All Lara managed was 1oz today. So more milk down the sink. I might end up giving up on my life expressing and just bf anyway.
On the other hand she has been a lot easier in the evenings so I should count my blessings.
Oh loving the fb action by the way. At least it keeps the brain active trying to remember who is who Grin

Purplemonster · 27/09/2013 22:48

Fingers crossed for you Cavort!

MotherOfCleo · 27/09/2013 22:52

Fingers crossed cav!

MotherOfCleo · 27/09/2013 22:57

Ohhh remembered another name merk, I liked Jessica but my OH wasn't as keen.

MotherOfCleo · 27/09/2013 23:05

Sorry, qyick question, Im planning on renting a tens machine, I know there are various different ones and wondered if any were better than the others? Also if anyone has any hints/tips where to get one from that would be fab. Otherwise I shall ask Google Grin

Purplemonster · 27/09/2013 23:20

I hired mine from my local children's centre for £10

janey1234 · 27/09/2013 23:24

Oh cavort fingers crossed for you. Otherwise don't blame me, blame the old boot that wrote the book I'm reading.
Can't for the life of me remember her name. Too much champagne I fear.

(Is mum's bday today, it's not a standard Friday night tipple for me)

Cavort · 28/09/2013 04:09

Update - She has just woken up for the first time since 11pm. Grin Grin Grin 5 hours straight, what a luxury! Grin FX for the rest of the night....

OP posts:
janey1234 · 28/09/2013 07:15

Yay yay yay cavort!! Hope the rest of the night was ok....

I don't know how it why (he had jabs yday so maybe that?) but I have just woken Miles up. He's been asleep since we woke him to feed him at 10pm.

NINE HOURS straight! GrinGrin

Quodlibet · 28/09/2013 08:31

Blimey that is some good sleeping! I must say I am finding it reassuring that once ours arrives I will have all your brains to pick on the sleeping/feeding conundrums.

Managed to score a bunch of unused cloth nappies second-hand yesterday for a really good price which is a result - obviously don't want to shell out loads for them if they end up being too much hassle, but they have really good eBay resale so we decided to get some in and give it a shot. Although turns out cloth nappies is yet another one of those things you have to become an expert in as there are so many brands/combinations.

And some really good news, one of my best friends got her BFP yesterday whilst waiting for her fertility clinic appointment. It'll be great to have babies only 6 months apart in age and I am so pleased for her, she's had a tough road ttc.

BelissimaLol · 28/09/2013 09:14

Good luck with these nappies quod. Think you will be the first berry brave enough to try them Grin
Excellent news on sleeping. We also had a good night. Straight from 10-5 then a quick feed and back to sleep till 7.
On other news my mum left after 7 weeks here with me. I'm really upset and even though she was doing my head in sometimes I miss her already ConfusedConfused
Now I will try to do this motherhood thing alone for the first time on Monday. Argh.

Alexandra6 · 28/09/2013 09:37

Glad there were so many good sleeps! I was wide awake at 4 again for a few hours, these babies are sleeping better than me! Grin Sad

That's nice your friend is out of ttc hell quod and you'll have babies close together Smile

Good luck lol, am sure you'll do a great job! Glad your mum being around helped.

In other news, I have a leak in our kitchen ceiling, a day of DIY ahead and dust everywhere but I'm not going to moan much as I'm going to tell myself this stage will pass!

Quodlibet · 28/09/2013 09:55

Oh yuck Alex, I have got quite a bit of that to look forward to as still need 2 windows replaced and a load of asbestos possibly removing from the second loft before we can insulate it (agghh!). We are decorating the nursery tmw if I can manage to choose and buy paint today!

MotherOfCleo · 28/09/2013 09:59

quod I have some of those too. I'm not going to use them to start with but thought I would give them a go later on. Plus in summer when its warm and bubs has just a nappy on they look really cute as a nappy cover Grin

I'm another one who had a crap nights sleep alex, my hips are giving me jip Sad sucks big time, especially as I was so so tired.

Wahey to the sleepy babies!!! Beyond chuffed for you cav! Miles sounds like such a good sleeper janey! Hope it continues for both of you! Grin

Alexandra6 · 28/09/2013 10:05

The leak seems to have stopped, leaving a lovely crack and damp patch across our kitchen ceiling - but thank god it stopped especially as the plumber hasn't got back to us! Most of our house is a state including the nursery room so I can't really make any headway there yet - I'm refusing to think of people who give birth early! You can imagine what a romantic 6 year anniversary weekend DH and I are having Wink Purple I hope there has been some progress on yours!

Alexandra6 · 28/09/2013 10:08

Cross post but sorry you had a bad night too mother - are you able to do any gentle exercise today to try and help? Sending a sympathy yawn your way! Smile Sad

Cavort · 28/09/2013 11:40

Morning all! Aaaaahhhhhh, that's better!

Elodie went back off to sleep just before 5 - she was sleepy after 4am feed but then needed nappy change which woke her up properly Angry, then she slept until 7.25, fed for 10 minutes, DH got up with her and I slept until 10.30 Grin Heaven!

Go Miles - bloody hell!!! Envy Envy And Lara! Envy

Sorry to hear about your leak Alex. I hope you get it sorted and it's not too stressful.

I am very impressed at you both trying the cloth nappies Quod and Mother. I am just far too lazy. I've heard babies who have cloth nappies toilet train younger as they don't like the wet feeling (which they don't get with disposables which keep them feeling very dry these days) so good luck to both of you if you can stick it out with them. Smile

HazleNutt · 28/09/2013 12:01

Vic sleeps fine, woke up at 7, fed and fell asleep again. As I wasn't sleepy any more, I went to the market - it's mushroom season, but you only get the nice porcini mushrooms if you go early.
Then did a Bodystep class to burn off at least some of the calories the mushroom dish for this evening will have. Morning exercise classes are the best - otherwise I always feel guilty when I see someone running or biking, but now can feel smug that I've already done mine Grin

Cavort · 28/09/2013 14:27

I might not have a sleeping baby, but what I do seem to have is more weight loss, despite a huge appetite. Shock Obviously not complaining but I can't get my head around the amount I am eating and not putting weight on. I am starting to get the fear that once I cut down/stop BFing my appetite won't reduce accordingly and I will end up like a whale.

Alex are you joining us on FB?

OP posts:
HazleNutt · 28/09/2013 15:06

meh. My weight loss seems to have stalled, despite eating reasonably and working out. Have been gaining and losing the same 200 gr the whole week. Well, I was promised massive weightloss between months 3 and 6 and that's starting tomorrow.

Cavort · 29/09/2013 08:15

On the sleep front, she took 4oz at 11.30, woke for one feeding pit stop at 4ish and then slept until 7.30 so I am quite pleased with that. DH on the other hand drank too much and was then a massive prick so I am not so pleased with him.

Sophie the Giraffe seems to be going down quite well but does look scarily like a dog toy. He knows to leave Elodie's toys alone but he is finding the giraffe hard to resist. At £13 a pop I have told him he is going to the dogs home if he chews it.

OP posts:
Alexandra6 · 29/09/2013 09:29

Who's organising the Facebook group, is it you lol? I'll pm my name. Then I've got to write a nagging, sorry snagging, list for the builders - might mention the major leak first!

I went shopping with one of DH's friends wives yesterday and was a good road test for our impractical car - was absolutely fine putting the baby and baby seat in and a double buggy fit in the boot with some shopping plus shopping on the back seat! Yay! She was using her double McClaren even though her toddler was somewhere else for the day, and I was laughing saying she looked like a real forward planner with a spare baby seat. She said with my bump we probably looked more like a couple ready for our second, made me laugh Grin

MotherOfCleo · 29/09/2013 09:41

cav how did you get the dog to leave the baby toys alone? Can see that being an issue for us as Cleo loves anything she's not meant to have. Plus, stupidly, we gave her cuddly toys when she was a pup so she rather likes them....bugger!

My OH was a prick last night too, went over to the local clubbing town last night, about 40 mins from us to meet up with a couple we met on holiday. They came down to see us which was nice. The guy is an alchy tho, we all know it. But my OH insists on keeping up with him! He was so so pissed! I had to pull over on the drive home for him to throw up Angry Plus he could hardly walk or talk. Think he knows hes in trouble as when hes pissed he usually sleeps downstairs till it starts to get light at 7ish then comes up but hes still down their. Why can't I live with a grown up? Plus he always forgets Im preggo when hes drunk, we were out till 2 and then I had to drive home, Im.pooped and my hips have flaired up again. Sad

On the plus side while the guys were at the bar 2 hot, much younger men saw us and started to come over all smiley and cheeky, shame they then saw the bump and did a u turn Grin Grin Made us both chuckle.
