Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CalloohCallay · 18/09/2013 17:42

Just had another scan following last weeks' bleeding and everything looks fine, Dr has decided to stop my medication as seems to cause more harm than good. So no more injections Grin

rueyrichardson · 18/09/2013 18:28

FWIW I find ASOS stuff to be OK - to - on the big side, size wise. I'm usually a 12 and my recent maternity purchases have been OK, if not a little roomy. I feel dreadful today, pukey and under the weather. My boss has offered for me to work a day a week from home, which will be great closer to Crimbo when it's dark and miserable outside in the mornings. He realises that on those days I will end up watching Jeremy Kyle followed by This Morning, right? Wink

laura0007 · 18/09/2013 19:01

I find asos stuff to be big too. I'm normally an 8-10 but even the 8's drown me!
Good idea about updating the stats thread how do we do it?

Littleen · 18/09/2013 21:01

Asos is on me a little bit big aswell, so probs worth buying a size smaller than you think you need.

After worrying yesterday not feeling any movement (baby was crazy in there on Monday, perhaps exhausted?!) today I have felt a bit, so happy now :D

pettyprudence · 18/09/2013 21:13

There is a flash sale on childrens wear at La Redoute - There is a plain white snowsuit in there which might be handy for feb babies!

Hey I am having my first scan tomorrow providing nothing goes wrong like it did with my 12 week one and subsequent mw appointments have only seen my mw for my booking appointment. We have a lot going on here at moment and it is only really starting to sink in. We are finally moving to a house in a couple of weeks after nearly 6 months of being in a caravan in Sil's garden. I'm also hoping that after the next two sessions of cbt my panic w/agrophobia will at least be controllable enough for me to leave the new house a bit more we are very isolated here so it hasn't helped that.
Getting lot's of movements and today was my first not tired day so far.
I am wearing my belly belt now as trousers definitely don't fit but luckily dp's t shirts are still far too big for me so i will be wearing those for a few more weeks yet.
I have bought my first bit of baby gear a 3-6 month pair of dungaree's that were a bargain so i couldn't leave them everything else is going to wait until after christmas you watch this one come early
I will pm jazzcat and get on the facebook page most of my friends don't even know I am pregnant yet as it hasn't been announced am going to do it tomorrow and pop up the scan pic.
Well that's me hi to those who remember me from the first thread can you believe we are almost half way through Grin

Shropshiremummy2B · 19/09/2013 07:08

laura0007 · 19/09/2013 09:50

Good luck with scans today ladies Grin

jazzcat28 · 19/09/2013 10:19

Oh deary me am working from home today and just caught up with midwives on BBC. Cue lots of blubbing! I am working really, honest

Good luck to those with scans over the coming days and weeks - loving seeing the pics on fb, I still can't quite get over how truly amazing our bodies are!

H&M have got their new collection in would this be totally cruel??

OP posts:
marzipanned · 19/09/2013 11:02

Welcome back bunny, good luck with the cbt.

jazz not cruel at all, I'd totally go for it if I hadn't already bought the bear suit Grin

marzipanned · 19/09/2013 11:07

Oh wow, I just found out that DH's grandma is giving us money for a pram - a LOT of money. More than a pram could ever cost.

The thing is...as I mentioned before, I don't think we'll use a pram very much, if at all, and I'd much rather buy second hand in case that turns out to be the case She says she wants us to get something modern and super dooper and the last thing I want is to offend her, I know a few of you have had issues with parents buying prams and their expectations, do you think if we spent the money on pram plus car seats plus ergo plus muslins plus..erm...everything else we need she'd be upset?!!

Thingymajigs · 19/09/2013 11:18

marzi, we had problems with the in-laws insisting they buy us a pram. Unfortunately, FIL had very firm ideas on the pushchair we should get to the point of being rude about our suggestions and only mentioning the pushchair he wanted us to have. It got uncomfortable very quickly so I asked..., well, insisted they buy the car seat and base instead. FIL then decided on the car seat we should have but I stood firm (DP was useless) and eventually we got a suitable car seat we liked. FIL wasn't happy but later on he got excited buying changing mats and accessories with the money he saved from not buying the pram.
Good luck, it is not easy! Oh and I used lots of slings and carriers with ds2 most of the time. The Ergo was my best buy, I only wish I hadn't sold it as the prices are crazy now.

ChocoFrog · 19/09/2013 11:21

Hope everyone is feeling a bit better today. I have up days and down days. A couple of weeks ago I embarrassed myself in Boots when they didn't have a prescription I went in for and I burst into tears. Felt like such a tit but they were all lovely about it. Should be wearing a badge that says 'Beware, hormonal pregnant lady. Prone to malfunction'

Had my scan last week and all great. Still team yellow and happy to be so. Suspect it is a boy though due to it's wrigglyness. The picture on FB shows it's acrobatics. Gold medalist in the making?!

Just past half way for me. Yippee!
20+1

HarlemWobble · 19/09/2013 11:53

Hello ladies. Just checking in from Greece where I'm currently sat by the pool. Grin

Apologies for being awol the last week or so. Ive been crazily busy at work getting bits sorted before holiday. Plus had a fair bit of chasing up to do re the house purchase. All seems to be going smoothly now so I'm hoping I can use these 2 weeks away to relax and catch up on sleep.

Glad to see the 20 week scans are going well. I've got mine on 4th Oct which still seems ages away!

I'll post my bump pic on FB later. There's definitely been growth since last week.

Right, I'm off to catch up on a weeks worth of posts from you chatty bunch!

jazzcat28 · 19/09/2013 11:58

marzipanned I'm in the same position with my parents. They want to splash out on a Bugaboo but I hate it. I'm trying to steer them towards something more suitable for myself and DH but it doesn't help my mum keeps going into John Lewis to admire said Bugaboo and has actually fallen in love with it. My suggestion is the Uppababy which is still pricey but not as 'yummy mummy' and I personally think better designed. We shall see. I would stay strong and go for what you want.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 19/09/2013 12:06

Choco I can totally empathise with the hormonal malfunctioning. I nearly cried in Asda because they didn't have the Bounty pack I went to collect (and it was the 5th shop I'd tried). BTW, the Mum to Be pack is worth getting from Asda as you get a free packet of muslins in there (more useful than a pack of wipes!) Bunny good luck with the CBT, I hope it helps you.

I agree that slings are fantastic. I love them, and can't wait to use my Moby again. However, a good buggy is invaluable too IME. Somewhere to put all the stuff you need to cart around when you have a baby! It's like planning an expedition each time you have to leave the house Grin nappies, wipes, bottles (if you're not BFing), breastpads (if you are), muslin cloths, complete change of clothes (you never know when baby will do one of those explosive, right up the back poos, but can guarantee it'll come at an inconvenient time).

I'm feeling a bit crappy today (have cancelled my volunteering at school as I have a heavy cold) but at the same time have the urge to do something productive. Might venture into the loft to sort through the baby clothes - got to get the gender neutral stuff separated from the only-suitable-for-boys-unless-I-want-to-fend-off-lots-of-questions-from-strangers clothes Grin

I want to go and buy loads of cute girly clothes but know my nieces are already planning to get lots of stuff (their last 3 cousins have been boys and they are ecstatic about a girl in the family) plus I do have a couple of friends with girls who have mentioned they will pass on clothes. So I.Must.Resist.

DocMcStuffed · 19/09/2013 12:23

Hey all.
Newbie due #3 at End of Jan/ Start of Feb 2014
Team PINK after two boys xxxx
In NI if theres anyone local?

marzipanned · 19/09/2013 12:32

Thanks thingy and jazz. I'll have a chat with DH tonight and see what he thinks the best way of approaching it is, I could now afford the amazing and incredible looking stokke xplory but I just think it would be crazy spending all that money on a pram!

Sugar that's a really good point about the paraphernalia. I've now got a vision of myself with ergo on front and hiking backpack full of nappies on back :)

marzipanned · 19/09/2013 12:32

Oops and welcome to doc!

SugarMiceInTheRain · 19/09/2013 12:46

Welcome doc hope you enjoy it here. I'm team pink after 2 boys too.

marzipanned one thing to bear in mind is that the really good buggies retain quite a bit of their value - I used a Phil & Ted's Sport with my boys. It cost me £400 but I recouped £270 of that when I resold it. Alternatively you might find a very lightly used, excellent condition pram on Ebay for £100 less than the RRP. I went for bargain basement travel system this time as money is quite tight and having had several I've worked out what I needed and what I could live without. Mine cost a ridiculously cheap £46 on Ebay (Mothercare Spin).

Bunnygotwhacked · 19/09/2013 15:11

Well I'm back we are team blue here and my official edd is now the 30th of january so now feel like a bit of an imposter here. My mum got us a buggy that her friend was getting rid of so hasn't cost us a thing which is good as i am planning on making my own sling like i did last time and not bothering with a buggy plus it is no good from newborn so i have plenty of excuses not to use it Grin
Hey Doc welcome to the feb club

Somanychanges · 19/09/2013 15:53

Wow all of you that have parents/parents in law offering to buy you prams etc, you are so lucky. I am happy to pretend being the doting daughter for a day if they really must buy someone a bugaboo.

Our parents will not be offering to help with any of the purchases unfortunately and we will be buying everything ourselves which is why it is all going to be second hand. We definitely can not afford to spend £500 on a buggy and to be honest even if we could we wouldn't it is such a lot of money and I find that once baby gets to about toddling stage I just want to switch to an easy fold and lightweight maclaren.

Saying that though if someone offered to buy us lovely new stuff I would not say no.
