Your wee one certainly likes to worry you Falcon. I'm sure all will be fine though.

Was just thinking that feminist hasn't posted for a while. I checked and her last post was 4th August. Hope all is ok with her.

Umlauf · 30/08/2013 15:11

Certainly shire I got them all off the bbc food website, here is the chicken, chickpea and chorizo casserole (it is absolutely delicious and very easy to make - I'm a terrible cook) and here is the chicken, cider and apple casserole I've not tried that one yet but where we live is cider country so I thought it would be appropriate as cider season is just ending and the stuff is going cheap!

I'd love some more curry receipes, especially veggie ones (the cashew one sounds interesting!) but I'm a tiny bit worried about spices going through to the milk and giving the baby a funny tummy - what do you think?

The courgette and choc chip muffins were immense! They defrost in the microwave in 15 secs though which is dangerous as I'm not sure there'll be any left after baby's arrived!!

mon my DH said the same thing wrt cooking (especially because he can cook and I'm rubbish!) but on top of work and the baby evening duties I think he'll be glad of the pre-done stuff. We spent £150 in the supermarket on Monday though which was shocking, although if I can get a months worth of evening meals out of that and hopefully some lunches too, I think it will be worthwhile.... I did have to buy a casserole dish as we didn't have one!

Umlauf · 30/08/2013 15:12

sparkeleigh can I have the chickpea curry recipe? I love chickpeas!

Shirehobbit · 30/08/2013 15:16

So, I didn't nap as much as lose a couple of hours of my life Blush.
I think that is classed as crashing out?
Should have set the alarm as Pinkbuttons, suggested.
Just coming round with a couple of biscuits to quick start blood sugars back in to action.

I wondered about Feminist the other day. And Roxvox - but I think she might be on holiday?

legallyblond · 30/08/2013 15:41

And Comtesse?

MotherOfNations · 30/08/2013 15:43

I've just absent mindedly eaten a whole bag of chocolate coated cranberries. 683 calories apparently.

Since there are 6 of us there really isn't any spare room in the freezer for anything extra anyway I guess.

Try stirring peanut butter into curry when it's cooking. It's lovely. It works well with Thai curry too.

MotherOfNations · 30/08/2013 15:44

Is Comtesse not the name changer?

PseudoBadger · 30/08/2013 15:49

Scan was good, saw lots of baby (literally!)
Amniotic fluid back to normal, and she weighs approx 5lb 9 Shock

PseudoBadger · 30/08/2013 15:50

Comtesse is this OP.

Falcon I hope all is ok x

Has anyone seen Flyer?

Shirehobbit · 30/08/2013 16:06

Good news, Pseudo.

Some old habits die hard - just downed a pint of water, because I was thirsty, completely forgetting there is just not the room for that volume of liquid anymore. Doh.

TheFalconsmistress · 30/08/2013 16:13

Yey pseudo!! Great news xx

Movements back but you ain't wrong mon she is driving me mad this pregnancy is hell :( can't wait till she is safe in my arms

Pinkforboys · 30/08/2013 16:14

Just picked up DS from cricket to be faced with another serious meltdown (tho apparently fine all day). It was a really disturbing outburst & hysterics over a prize of a boiled sweet! Even involved him trying to hurt himself in the car on the way home. Half of north london probably heard my response Blush...Eventually I got him calmed- or rather he came to calm me when he heard me crying and we finally had a deep conversation about baby coming. I guess that is the good thing about him being almost 6- he can voice his worries if encouraged (me dying, baby taking his favourite toy...), but oh, it was hard work. Somehow my phone rang DH in the middle of the breakdown so he got involved and worried too!
Hopefully with the air cleared we can have a half-decent b'day celebration tomorrow. THe layers of rainbow cake look...interesting? Confused

Sorry for a me post. It's good to be able to share with others facing similar issues.

I hope baby dancing starts again this eve, falcon, perhaps she's waiting for you to put your feet up?

PseudoBadger · 30/08/2013 16:15

I definitely didn't find ds's pregnancy as stressful as this one with regard to movement -damn anterior placentas have a lot to answer for!

PseudoBadger · 30/08/2013 16:17

Oh dear Pink! Don't worry I didn't hear you shout - did you happen to hear my DS screaming on the tube at Highgate when daddy got off to go back to work? "I missssssss daaaadddeeeeeeeee!!!!"

Pinkforboys · 30/08/2013 16:33

Ah pseudo that's so sweet!
My throat's still hurting from shouting. DD is going to be pretty resilient given all the noise she's had to endure in-utro.

Time to go put feet up, knit and calm the nerves. Chocolate is called for.

cuillereasoupe · 30/08/2013 16:58

Hello everyone, I've missed a thread and a half while I was on my hols :-)

I'm 32+5 today and had our 32 week scan this morning. All fine, baby weighs four pounds, and has teeny little feet, just like me (size 3) and his dad (size 7).

We're having name trouble too. I foolishly told my sister we were planning on Alistair and she specifically asked me not to because of a crappy ex of hers. I know the final choice is ours but it's tarnished it a bit for me. We're now thinking of Fergus but I'm not 100% sold on it. Any other suggestions along the same lines welcome - I'm not sure I'm ready to brave the baby names threads yet Wink

thethreeblondies · 30/08/2013 17:06

Can I join the knackered needing a nap club? DH had a car accident on way to work last night, he's fine just shaken as he was very lucky and it could have easily been so much worse. Someone pulled out of a junction, he avoided plowing straight in to drivers side door swerved and took the front of other car clean off, but as he swerved he shot accross oncoming traffic on to verge on the other side of the road Confused Lucky boy!

So had a late night and trips to get hire car and look at possible replacement cars today, as well as still trying to get straight from our wkend away and prepping for back to school on Monday!

We also can't decide on names, stressing a bit as we go to disneyland on 19th dec and baby will need a passport! Alicia is a possibility for a girl but for a boy we are still stuck! (no DH Batman is not a possibility!)

Shirehobbit · 30/08/2013 17:10

Hamish or Hector any good, Cuiller?

MotherOfNations · 30/08/2013 17:14

I like Fergus cuillereasoupe though it does make me start singing the Deacon Blue song Fergus sings the blues.

Your DP must have got the most awful fright threeblondies He was indeed very lucky. It's idiots like the one he encountered that make me too scared to learn to drive.

MotherOfNations · 30/08/2013 17:16

How about Finlay?

HotSoupDumpling · 30/08/2013 17:17

Thanks to you guys I have finally pulled my finger out and started thinking seriously about names!

Btw, 'pirate' and 'shark' are BRILLIANT names!

legallyblond · 30/08/2013 17:24

He he. Just told DD I'm about to cook Penne Puttanesca for dinner... Huge shock on her face "mummy you just can't put poo in the sauce, it's far too smelly! Please!" Literally those words.?knackered by having a nearly 3 year old on my own all week, but def not too tired to laugh!!!!

MrsHoratioNelson · 30/08/2013 17:24

Hi legally Comtesse has NC'd.

Cuillere I know a 5 year old Hamish and he's ace. His middle name is Alisdair. If you want Scottish names, what about Fraser? We decided that we couldn't get away with it because we're about as English as they come, but I love it.

OP posts:
legallyblond · 30/08/2013 17:25

cuiller I love love love Hamish, but just can't justify it with zero Scottish roots!

Tarlia · 30/08/2013 17:26

threeblondes how scary for your husband! So glad to hear he is ok!!

culli I love Archie but a friend has a 7 month old one. Hamish is cute too.

Falcon I hope you've got your feet up and Willow is moving around. Try music on mobile phone placed on tummy and watch, whilst drinking a cold glass of juice.

The batch cooking recipies sound delicious, might adapt for the slowcooker. SC Moroccan meatballs tonight.

I'm out, with an appointment to wednesday and strict instruction to monitor BP several times a day now, and to contact them as soon as there is any change or symptoms at all and not to wait. My addmittance certianly cured that 'i cant do this anymore' which id not even mentioned to the Dr yesterday - of course when they start talking about possibly getting baby out, at 35 weeks tomorrow, i of course desperatly dont want it to result in that and want baby safe inside. DS has managed to stay home thus far, but in the middle of acute treatment as I type. Fx
