Are you talking to me, Frank? Been lurking, but need to get thru to scan date and past mc date, first (Fri and wed respectively). Ta for the brownie tho!

FrankelInFoal · 21/10/2013 16:47

Not just you Drizz Wink

Totally understand you wanting to get Friday out of the way first though.

Sinks, saw your post about nerves over the 20wk scan, I felt the same last week. Just try to remember that once the 12wk scan is under your belt, the risks are actually very low.

SinkyMalinks · 21/10/2013 19:03

I know... It'll be fine. It will.

Remember my mentally annoying friend. Sigh. Announced her next pregnancy when I was 10 weeks? Seems she's been moved forward and is now due v soon after me. Inevitable "oh, Julian (or whatever) is walking at 10 weeks! I know! Simper". Sigh.

Hello wink and driz. So wink, 2 weeks to scan, maybe, and driz, Friday - is that right? Fingers, toes etc crossed for behaving little beans. (Remind me, who was it that had the 2 eggs put back again?)

FrankelInFoal · 21/10/2013 19:11

I think Draf had the two eggs put back! I'm sure she said her scan was 1st November.

Sounds like you'll need to perfect the old "smile and nod" routine sinks, that or try to out do her in a sarcastic fashion Wink

SinkyMalinks · 21/10/2013 19:35

Yes. Shall be calm and aloof (while alternating internally between screaming and weeping)

Oh well.

Wink, forgot to say, I told millions of people before I'd had any reassuring scan (I had an early scan with a blob but no hb pretty soon after POAS). They were all people I would turn to if needs be though, so was comfortable with that.

MyNameIsWinkly · 22/10/2013 11:22

WHY does pregnant-time pass so slowly?? I thought sinks' posts were from days ago not last night!!

Today I am going to hobbycraft and learning to crochet.I also had a pre-booking-in midwife meeting. I wanted to cry cos I had the same meetmeeting hardly any time ago.

SinkyMalinks · 22/10/2013 18:46

But you're back Winks. And this is a whole new pregnancy. . Was midwife appointment interesting at all?

I am trying to get back to knitting, but made the fatal error of starting a complex lacy blanket ages ago. It's doing my head in and I keep for getting what row I'm on and have to count my stitches. Again. But it will be finished. And the only way that will happen is if I don't start any cute baby things in the meanwhile!

SinkyMalinks · 22/10/2013 18:47

And yes. Weeks will stretch into aeons until the 12 week scan. Then you'll blink and you'll be 20 weeks and sporting a hefty bump!

FrankelInFoal · 22/10/2013 18:53

Oh winks, have a gentle sprinkling of prawns. As Sinks says, this is a different pregnancy and though it will be hard you must try to put what happened before to the back of your mind. Was the midwife helpful?

Time does pass slowly in the first trimester, but I can honestly say I don't know where the last 8 weeks have gone!

MyNameIsWinkly · 22/10/2013 18:53

I do hope so sinks. Thanks for the fish slaps :)

The only interesting thing from the meeting is that apparently there's no limit any more on the amount of tuna you eat. This has changed in the last 10 weeks! Beyond that, it was all old news. The children's centre where they had it had an amazing tree painted on the walls in the corner. I quite fancy that if we need to turn the spare room into a nursery.

The lacy blanket sounds lovely, is there a link to what the end result looks like? How's everything else with you?

MyNameIsWinkly · 22/10/2013 18:56

And thank you frank for the prawns :)

SinkyMalinks · 22/10/2013 19:29

Unfortunately lacy blanket is currently anything but lovely! I'm hoping will improve with blocking, but stitch definition may only highlight all my mistakes!

If you're on ravelry it's Norma - but I'm doing it in a deep purple, not orange!

MyNameIsWinkly · 23/10/2013 21:07

Sinks the blanket looks like it'll be lovely when it's done. My learning to crochet project (Day 2) is going ok.

I had a good sob on HWCA last night, and feel much more positive today :) How's everyone else?

FrankelInFoal · 24/10/2013 20:47

winks, sorry you had a wobble last night, are you feeling better now? The emotions never seem to go away do they?

I've spent much of the day feeling sick, I ate too much last night and have felt over-stuffed and a bit refluxy all day. That'll teach me not to be a pig!

FrankelInFoal · 25/10/2013 08:08

Drizz, if you're still lurking, good luck for your scan today.

MyNameIsWinkly · 25/10/2013 09:08

Morning. Good luck today driz.

How are you feeling this morning frank? Was the food worth the sicky feeling?

FrankelInFoal · 25/10/2013 10:07

It was nothing special winks, some pasta and roasted root veg, but I made too much and decided to scoff the lot instead of keeping some as left-overs

Still feel a bit sicky but am mainlining Gaviscon Grin

Think I'm starting to pick up on some more movements, but no real patterns yet so I'm not 100% sure if it's baybee or bubbling guts Blush

SinkyMalinks · 25/10/2013 12:18

It'll be movements frank! But I know what you mean.. I keep thinking it could be my guts but then I get a somersault or a boot and satisfy myself that it is real baybee movement!

My portion control seems to have gone out of control as well though. Except I finished my, then ghj's chips last night. And they weren't small portions Blush

Waiting to get flu jab now, but then scan on mon. Sqwee!

FrankelInFoal · 25/10/2013 13:50

Oh squeeee indeed! I had my flu jab a few weeks ago. It didn't hurt and I haven't had any side effects apart from a bruise that won't go away Hmm. I've been told to call my GP to book the whooping cough vaccination after 28 weeks.

Next midwife appt is not until 21 November so I'm having to content myself with listening to Turnip on the Doppler at home.

SinkyMalinks · 25/10/2013 15:04

I'm not allowed a doppler Sad. Well, I could but GHJ quite rightly thinks i'd spend every evening attached and then panic every time it was a little hard to hear… and it's true, i would Blush.

Jab fine. I normally get it through work, but they seem to be dragging their feet this year, so went to GPs instead. Arm is a bit sore now though! Reminded again by GP about whooping cough, so will be sure to get it in the new year!

Will the midwife listen to the HB at appointments? Not sure mine do - unless there's problems, but my last appointment was sooo dreadful, i'll just wait and see and hope for the best.

(it is Squeee isn't it? Not sqwee….)

MsJupiterJones · 25/10/2013 15:05

It's usually more sqwee by 36 weeks.

SinkyMalinks · 26/10/2013 08:58

There should be a fb style "like" button...

Except I went to the cinema last night. Loo before, during and after. And it was barely 2 hours. Sigh.

MyNameIsWinkly · 26/10/2013 11:05

Did you see any of the film at all sinks?

How exciting that you're feeling your baybees move :) Good luck for Monday sinks. Are you going to find out what flavour it is or leave it as a surprise?

frank the flu jab bruise is impressive isn't it. I'm still bruised 9 days on. My whole arm went red and lumpy the day after the jab too. Can't say it was fun, but I had swine flu when it was in fashion and am not keen to repeat the experience.

Last week I told my parents I was diffed, with strict instructions to tell nobody, and with the reminder it was very early days and as I lost the last one, we weren't getting our hopes up. So my mum has told my granny. My granny has started knitting things. My mum has begun looking at christening robes - I don't even know if we'll get it christened, if we manage to get a baby. AND she's looked at hotels to come visit when this baby is born! I'm probably being ungrateful and should be pleased my family are excited but boy am I freaked out and feeling under pressure now.

FrankelInFoal · 26/10/2013 11:10

Is it the first grandchild for your parents Winks? I know what you mean about feeling the pressure, we didn't tell our folks until 12w, after the early scare, but the number of questions being fired at us, in a very well meaning loving way is, intimidating. HWHHN's aunt was talking to us about puréeing food last weekend, I mean let the baby arrive and get to weaning age first FFS!

MyNameIsWinkly · 26/10/2013 11:15

Nope frank, I have two very lovely nephews courtesy of DSis. It's all a bit terrifying isn't it? We told early because of how good everyone was with the mc, and thought if we mc again people deserve to have some warning. I just didn't think they would be so full on, so fast. I'm not even sure I would describe myself as happy yet. I'm not feeling much at all except worried and now pressured.

Sorry. Being 'me me me' again. How do you feel about pureeing? Grin
