If you're worried at all Flyer then please do call/go in.

As we get further along can I promote Count The Kicks I've linked to their movements page but take a look around the whole web site.

star87 · 31/07/2013 12:27

that should have read "I've been doing some exercises..." doh!

PseudoBadger · 31/07/2013 12:28

I've been a total loser this lunchtime and have come to Wagamama on my own Blush I've got horrid heartburn and there was absolutely nothing else that I could think of to eat in the vicinity of work. So here I am waiting for Chicken Tama Rice....

MotherOfNations · 31/07/2013 12:45

What's wrong Pseudo?

PseudoBadger · 31/07/2013 12:47

Nothing's wrong MoN I'm just so confused about what to eat these days that I'm on my own in a restaurant rather than eat a sandwich!

Shirehobbit · 31/07/2013 12:54

flyer - I've felt that there has been a reduction in movement intensity over the last couple of days too, almost like a return to the little tickles of earlier, rather than full-on kicks and swooshes. I'm just monitoring, for now, but will seek help if I don't feel much over 24hrs.

How are you feeling now, slippy?
Are you ok, pseudo? I hope the meal is nice...

I am back from dropping off the Mamas and Papas Pramette travel system a friend gave us to be steam cleaned and valeted. It was a 25 mile drive away, and I left plenty of time, but could I find the damn place? No. Driving around industrial areas, feeling miserable and trying not to cry as they weren't answering the phone. So not like me!
I did manage to find them, eventually. And they were very nice, so I am looking forward to seeing the results in a week or so.

I am now recovering from the trauma with a pile of Jaffa Cakes Blush

roxvox · 31/07/2013 13:02

star87 I have heard lots of stories about the bump measurement not being a very accurate tool for deciphering your baby's growth. Try not to worry, and take it as an advantage to see your baby again at the scan! Fingers crossed all will be good, and DON'T GOOGLE IT!

OP posts:
pinkbuttons · 31/07/2013 13:05

thankyou for that link pseudo is nice to have reassurance that no one is over reacting, interesting about it focusing on the pattern as my midwife told me 10 movts in your waking hrs, but assuming all babies are different maybe some dont get that many. This baby is definitely more active than DS although maybe that was due to anterior placenta last time and him being nocturnal.
Also dont think its sad to have lunch on your own am in fact a little bit jealousSmile

pinkbuttons · 31/07/2013 13:06

star I also meant to say that I was told growth is very personal to your body shape and size and as youve been told not very accurate. Will be good to get reassurance at your scan though x

MotherOfNations · 31/07/2013 13:13

Wagamamas is way better than a sandwich anyway.pseudo

star growth scans are far from accurate never mind the bump measurement. As I've said on here before, I was induced as they said ds was dangerously small and he was 7lb 8oz.

star87 · 31/07/2013 13:16

Thanks for the reassurance. Just looking at an older thread on here from someone who sounds as worried as I am and everyone is pretty much saying the same!

Baby is transverse as well which I'm sure is playing a major roll in the size.

Enjoy your wagamamas pseudo :)

Shootingstarsandcomets · 31/07/2013 13:23

I'd phone and get checked flyer although I think it is normal for movements to slow down as they run out of room.
Just back from 28 week check and all is well. Bump measured 27cm so bang on 50th centile. star I asked midwife about the measuring thing and she says its all a bit hit and miss as it has to cover fat and thin tall and short people. She said its really just a general guide and mostly if people get sent for a scan all comes back fine. I wouldn't worry especially as your petite anyway.
My next appt is beginning September aaaargh all getting a bit close now!
Off to do my pelvic floor excersises!!

Warlin · 31/07/2013 13:23

star I got told I was measuring small and worried too. I booked a private scan and am measuring bang on where I should be. My baby is also transverse so measuring the length of your bump is in no way accurate so don't worry. It seems that lots of people get told they are either too big or too small and very few seem to have had a problem.

pseudo I'd love a wagamama. I'm eating a salad wrap but feeling a bit full and sick to be honest. I just want to go home and lie down.. :(

legallyblond · 31/07/2013 14:45

Hey all.

Star - don't worry! I ended up having 3 extra growth scans in total with DD as I was 6 then 8, then 10(!)cm too small. DD was 8lb4oz... The consultant who I ended up seeing laughed and said that this always happens to tall slim women and he would have expected me to carry small... Was glad to be referred for the scand of course, but by the third I was a bit "yeah, yeah" about it all!

I've just had my next mw app to check on the high blood pressure situation. It's dropped again (yay!) so PE is looking v unlikely, especially as this is my second pregnancy with the same father and I was fine last time (apparently a second preg but with a new father means its like your first preg in terms of PE risk, as it's not about the mother's body so much as the interaction between the genetics of the baby and the mother... Who knew?!).

Just crossing everything that they stay in until 36 weeks (I'm 31+4 now). And 2.5 weeks to go at work... Starting to drag now! I'll be 34 weeks then.... They're both 3.5lbs now, plus have a placenta and fluid each, so mw said there's now much more in there than a full term single preg..... I am definitely more shattered / uncomfortable now than I was with DD even at 40+12 (when I was induced)... Sigh!!!

BowlFullofJelly · 31/07/2013 15:29

Great news about the blood pressure legally, and very interesting about PE, I wasn't aware of that.

I'm beyond tired this week - don't know whether it is because I had a really busy weekend so didn't get to recuperate, or whether I've just hit that point in pregnancy. Also I have to go to Ireland for the day tomorrow, so that will be a long day Sad.

1stTimer25 · 31/07/2013 15:29

Hello everyone, wondering if i can join in please? I am 30+4 with my first :) ... until now i have had a troublefree pregnancy (only the usual first 12 week symptoms) but the last few days i have felt worse than the first 12 weeks! so its nice to find somewhere to ask questions/ moan!! I have taken today off work (i am a care assistant for the elderly) as i was sick first thing this morning which is unusual for me, but more so over the past few days i have had unbearable backache - crawling around on hands and knees feels the best! and a few pangs accross my stomach which were worse at work yesterday, have spoken to my midwife and she has told me to do absolutley nothing today and if things dont quieten down to speak to my labour ward... has anyone else experienced anything like this at all please?

BowlFullofJelly · 31/07/2013 16:01

Welcome 1stTimer - think we may be due date buddies Smile.

The things you are describing can be signs of onset of labour - I take it that's what you are worried about? TBH unless the tightenings are regular and getting closer together then I don't think you have anything to worry about, but if you are concerned just go along to the day assessment unit and they can monitor you. Sympathies to you...I'm also starting to suffer now after feeling really well for the last 4 or 5 months.

Slippysnow · 31/07/2013 16:27

Thank you for the well wishes. I'm feeling a bit more myself after catching up with sleep and eating a slice of marmalade toast. Hoping I will manage a small dinner tonight.

Welcome 1sttimer I would try to relax as much as possible and follow midwives advice. I am a first timer too, so can only try to empathise. Lots of people will be on with better advice soon I'm sure

Flyer747 · 31/07/2013 18:31

Welcome 1stTimer...

Well I decided that I must have a scone and a cup of tea along with some iced water on my lunch break, hoping the clotted cream would get baby moving, I'm pleased to report it went crazy, got very excited and kicked me lots!!! Smile

Glad to hear about the bp legally, my goodness you really haven't got long left now you jammy devil.

OrangeBlossom2 · 31/07/2013 19:23

Welcome first timer. Hopefully a rest does you good and everything is ok tomorrow.

Glad all well with you legally and flyer.

I leaked through my bra onto my top for the first time today, very glamorous, time for breast pads every day I think!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 31/07/2013 19:50

Welcome firsttimer hope you got lots of rest today and things settle down soon.
Eeek re leaking orange!
I blame my sugar filled diet on trying to feel movements flyer Grin no wonder your little one moved I bet he/she loved a scone!!!
Getting lots of Braxton hicks tonight some quite painful. Good to know my body is gearing up for the main event though!

Shirehobbit · 31/07/2013 20:13

I know that everywhere says that it is as normal to not have leakage or braxton hicks. I've had neither (29wks+3, today). Should I be worried?

Flyer747 · 31/07/2013 20:22

I've no leakage either shire.

I have had bh though

Soupqueen · 31/07/2013 20:31

shire, 29+2 here and not a hint of a leak or Braxton Hicks contraction.

Flyer747 · 31/07/2013 20:35

Shire I'm same as you 29+3
