PS Marie - my poor fanjo definitely needs a few weeks to recover before I get back on my bike!

Thinkingof4 · 04/07/2013 08:12

Aargh, after lots of bh's and back pain last night everything settled after going to bed. Can't believe I'm still pg this morning! Ach well, time to be patient some more.
School run to do but will post again later

40+2

dinkystinky · 04/07/2013 08:13

Vinegar - have a lovely chilled day of cuddles. We took ds1 and ds2 to see that production of bear hunt - its v sweet - am sure Ds will love it.

No participation planned in sports day - but do have a 3 mile round trip walk to get there, a lot up a big hill, so who knows...

Persuasion - enjoy your baking!

Hope all those who couldn't sleep last night get naps in today

Am rather envious of all the twilight baking going on. I'm feeling rather lazy. Was so exhausted last night that F slept on my chest once she had fed .

Good luck to those still waiting. I felt a bit odd last night knowing just a week ago she was having a good old wiggle in my tummy. I do miss the bump (and hate what it's been replaced with). Which brings me to post natal clothes - what is everyone wearing? Have spent all week in pyjamas but today we're taking dd1 to toddler group for an hour and just realised I have nothing to wear! Not a hope of getting into pre pregnancy clothes and I think my maternity jeans may sit on scar.

Also any recommendations for a nice looking nursing bra? Have the bravado seam free ones which are super comfy but would like something 'nice' occasionally. Only have small boobs and most nursing bras seem big.

Was really expecting some more babies over night. You're all too busy to give birth aren't you?!

MightBeMad · 04/07/2013 08:59

No more babies overnight?? What's going on? Wink

Morning all!!

PhieEl06 · 04/07/2013 09:08

Runs you have more early morning energy than me, I can just about muster the energy at that time to make a cup of tea!

Happy due date dinky, sounds like you have a great day planned, hope the long walk does the job! Smile

Jealous of your newborn cuddles Vinegar! Cannot wait for mine now.

Sympathies for all those overdue!

Shelley if you can get your sizing right & don't mind unpadded, Topshop Maternity bras are lovely! I've found that they fit to the same size as I have for nursing bras, they are very pretty & have matching pants, not breaking the bank either!

Morning MightBe! Grin

Waiting in at my sisters all day today for my pram to be delivered, eek I'm so excited haha!

37+5

photographerlady · 04/07/2013 09:17

Wow look at all this chatter! I need to get a strong cup of tea and catchup.

On my front I went to my local breastfeeding group and it was lovely. Such nice ladies and a constant stream of tea and toast. Off now to coffee with the antental girls, this maternity leave is a hard living :)

tryitonforsize · 04/07/2013 09:21

Due date today and no sign of baby making an appearance. But since I have only just finally handed over all my work to a consultant I am okay with the idea - get to do a bit of relaxing at last.

Dinky - thanks for reminding me about the Dalston House exhibition - think I will toddle along there. We must live in the same hood! Good luck to my fellow due dater... race you!

And to anybody else feeling like a distinct under-achiever due to not doing any housework/ baking/ bicycle rides/ etc... I can assure you I am right there with you Smile

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/07/2013 09:29

MW calling over this morning. Meanwhile I'm on my own with 2 DDs for the first time. It's hard work! Luckily DD1 will be at nursery tomorrow and then it's the weekend. So hoping for a bit of a sleep catch up.

VinegarDrinker · 04/07/2013 09:39

tryiton I think dinky is a bit more North/Central but if you are near Dalston House sounds like you are pretty local to me.

VinegarDrinker · 04/07/2013 09:41

Totally - eeek good luck with that! CBeebies o'clock! Does your DH not get any paternity leave? I'll be doing half a day solo tomorrow with both mine so do let me know any tips...

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/07/2013 09:52

Vinegar - DH is taking his paternity leave in August (to help me recover from PIL visit!). It's too short notice to cancel clinics & lists for him to get any more time off now, but the other consultants covered his lists for him on Tuesday & Wednesday morning. So far I've figured out I need to be prepared with ready made drinks & snacks for DD1 & give up on tidying altogether. It looks like a hurricane has been through the house!

CitizenOscar · 04/07/2013 10:01

Shelley - I got some nice nursing bras from the figleaves website last time & found they had a fair selection. Not sure about sizes.

Postnatal clothes, I think I wore lots of maxi dresses last time, but it was a bit warmer that year!

Good news - DS1 can go back to nursery tomorrow so I might get a bit of relaxation time.

Baby has been kicking me in the ribs and head butting me in the cervix. Surely he'll be making an appearance soon?!

Andrea75 · 04/07/2013 10:07

Congratulations on all the new arrivals - can't keep up with news and baking!

Just back from 38wk appointment with Dr. Baby n/e yet so she didn't think he/she would arrive in the coming week...famous last words?

She also said the heartbeat gender thing was an old wives' tale...

Going a little stir crazy at home with ds - we have till Monday to stay at home with no contact with anyone (apart from the Dr at surgery this morning!!)...stickers, kids' DVDs, playdoh and baking are filling my days and I keep looking round at things I could be doing. Still a carpet fitter is coming tomorrow morning to fit carpet in spare/babies room!! That will be a bit different.

Need to unpack the pram we've been lent by a friend and get it washed and check buggy board fits...

evelynj · 04/07/2013 10:13

Morning all

Busy night but no babies-maybe movement today? I had a less good night, so hard getting in & out of bed & my pelvis clicking in & out is annoying!

Lol at icing-if I tried to wake my dh for company, I can just imagine his face!

Phie-I have a neighbours dog that barks non stop when they go out & I'm going to have to discuss it with them as it makes my blood boil recently-literally can't concentrate on anything else it makes me so angry!

Runs-this novel writing is taking it to another level! I've been considering making malteser tray bakes as they're the easiest thing ever so we'll see if that happens today. Either way tryiton-thanks for the underachiever companionship, I was starting to feel completely inadequate on this thread!

Shelley-hot milk do some nice bras, they are at debenhams so you should be able to check online. Not sure on prices as mine are too big for the range :(

Really need to get DS some breakfast now but figured it wouldn't do him any harm to wait a while as I dozed as he's going to have to learn to soon enough that things won't be happening by his clock! Don't think I'm verging on child abuse just yet.....

Nothing planned at this end for today. May take all the polystyrene from new bathroom stuff to the tip & land on my parents for lunch.

Have good days ladies!

BB01 · 04/07/2013 12:44

Rooming in went well and we're off home today! Rosie has put on weight which I didn't expect! Breastfeeding still seems a minefield but so far we're muddling through after getting some more advice and reassurance! Come on the rest of you July babies due soon. Don't keep your mummies waiting too long!

Andrea75 · 04/07/2013 12:52

Well pram up and in working order, nothing to clean - can only sponge clean anyway and it is pristine Smile.

But the buggy board...well it is on now but need to get new friction tape (!) (also got board from a friend, am being very frugal this time, as this is no 3 and the last one!). Has anyone else had to try and fit a buggy board? With all the crouching and stressing trying to fit it, it may induce labour, never mind what the GP said the morning.

Never used a buggy board before but school run takes 15 mins each way and some of it along v busy road. DS is not the greatest walker, still in buggy for half of school run at mo until baby arrives so am hoping he will take to walking more, behaving near roads and if needed will use the board. Just hope dd isn't too jealous about buggy board for ds.

Thinkingof4 · 04/07/2013 13:04

Oh dear I'm a bit of an emotional wreck today. Ds3 just bit me and I nearly cried (after giving him 2 min on naughty step). Then I checked on status of order I made this morning for new mattress for carrycot- I asked them to do it urgently and the status is 'complete, estimated arrival July 5th'. This also nearly made me cry as that's really exceptional service!
I'll need to link to website in case anyone else needs new carrycot mattress but I'll wait and see if it arrives first!

abzs hope your night wasn't too disturbed/ noisy it's really hard being on postnatal ward

totally yikes that's hard going, hope dh or someone else who can help is about this weekend.

bb01 sounds like its going well!

andrea we've recently introduced buggy board to ds3 (he's just turned 2) and he loves it, hopefully your ds will be the same

dinky happy due date!

I just heard on news that any babies born on same day as Will and Kate will get special silver coin- someone on here is bound to get one surely!!
That's quite a nice thing really, wouldn't mind getting one for my little baby!

esme80 · 04/07/2013 13:36

dinky happy due date! If it gets things going let me know, will have to organise a sports day in the garden or something. Anyone else in the overdue club obviously invited!

shelley I was in maternity clothes for weeks after ds birth (ok, months). Do you have leggings/dress you could wear or something?

40+1 today, sigh... Midwife appointment this morning, baby is 3/5 palp as apposed to 4/5 last week, should be happy with that. Measuring 42 weeks though so spending my day scaring myself w thoughts of mega-babies!

Am planning a bit of baking this afternoon, cant help but get a bit obsessed reading this thread! First a little nap though...

MarieKL · 04/07/2013 14:00

Wow the 5pm club really is productive. I'm now craving muffins. Runs I'm impressed with the novel writing. Are you likely to be published or is it more for the love of writing?

Vingear Yay, you are human after all Smile though I'm sure you're be back on the bike before I've even considered doing any form of exercise again. Enjoy your cuddles this afternoon.

BB01 so glad it went well and you're on your way home.

Persuasion good luck with your thesis summary. What's it on? Sorry you haven't had any more positive signs after your sweep. I had my 2nd this morning but the midwife said something about my baby's head needing to turnaround, and she's pretty certain bump won't arrive this weekend so I'm putting Totally's plan into action and booking a meal for tomorrow night and refusing to even think about needing to get lined curtains for our bedroom!

Dinky happy due date. When is DH's deal due to close? If its before your doula gets back I'm revising my estimate to your LO arriving then!

Slouching I still can't quite believe that we'll have a baby at the end of this as well. Though given how many people keep asking if I know what I'm having It seems to be a common problem! Trying really hard not to reply a kitten! Must remember they are just being kind.

Thinking is being an emotional wreck a good sign that your hormones are doing something? I love the idea of a coin. Am going to have a word with bump about a quick labour immediately after the royal announcement Smile.

Phie I hope the bouncing works. Under midwife instructions I'm rocking and crawling around on all fours. Feel rather foolish but if it helps.....

Citizen glad DS is better and heading back to Nursery.

Good luck o all those keeping other DCs entertained. I'm off for a walk to the shops and then going to my PIL to retrieve my DS and for some company.

IcingTheCake · 04/07/2013 14:16

Anyone heard from cheese last i heard she had pretty promising signs Smile

scoutfinch1 · 04/07/2013 14:33

Wow this thread really does move quickly. Congratulations to all the new arrivals- Florence, Clara, Kyle and Joseph (sorry if I have forgotten anyone.) I've been having a nice chilled out couple of days, waddling around and watching the Murray match. Because of DP's job we get our weekend at the beginning of the week so he has been at home spoiling me by cooking me lots of yummy dinners :)

Went to see the midwife and was quite surprised when she commented on baby being quite big. She had been measuring quite small at the beginning and as DP and I aren't the biggest people in the world so had been expecting baby to be on the smaller side. Maybe not, maybe buying newborn clothes wasn't such a good idea.

Been having quite a few period like cramps and braxton hix but no real sign yet (37+2) As impatient as I'm getting I would like baby to stay put until the end of the week so I can get all of the other birthdays out of the way. This week it's DM's, DMIL and DP's brothers birthday so I could do without baby's being in the same week.

Happy due date dinky and Tryiton Wonder if we will get any 4th July babies.

Thinkingof I didn't know about the coins thanks for sharing. That would make a lovely little keepsake.

Citizen strange question but did you feel comfortable in maxi dresses straight after the birth?

Gosh that seems like a long post.

SlouchingPanda · 04/07/2013 15:04

Been up to the clinic today and all is well. She thinks it's 2/5 engaged and isn't worried so I was just being neurotic but she was nice about it, at least.

As a result I made it to my first ever pedicure. Felt a bit embarrassed about the state of my feet (gardening in flip flops = really manky trotters), but they look lovely now. Feel like a real grown up! Sadly the glamour ends here as I'm off to buy some maternity pads in bulk now!

Marie I used to regularly dream of giving birth to litters of puppies so will be very relieved if this is indeed a baby.

Thinking your hormones are allowed to be all over the place and that is v good service! My Babipur order has already been despatched so looking forward to getting that soon. Nothing like a crocheted otter to bring cheer to a heavily pregnant woman Grin.

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/07/2013 15:17

Slouching my mum kept dreaming that she gave birth to a puppy when she was pregnant with me Confused (no dog jokes, please Wink)

Despite my mum telling me I still looked about 6 months pregnant yesterday, today I am wearing a pair of pre-pregnancy jeans they weren't exactly snug beforehand & trying to ignore very jelly belly hanging over the top Grin

VinegarDrinker · 04/07/2013 15:39

Wow, Totally Shock I think I am several months years off that. If nothing else the thought of anything tighter than joggers near my stitches makes me wince!
