Congrats China - sorry you didn't get the home birth you were wishing for but sounds like you had a positive birth experience over all. The girls are definitely catching up the boys now.

Phie - your baby shower and best friend sound lovely!

Marie - I do believe my autocorrect has a mind of its own. Its like How to get ahead in Advertising - but with a possessed nexus instead of a boil :-)

X post with lots of you - I'm such a slow poster!

Congrats to China, glad to hear you had a positive experience despite it not going totally to plan. Congrats to everyone else with newbies too, I think I may have missed someone Blush

Phie, baby shower sounds great.

I've been clearing up the patio in the hope it might start something off, but all I've managed to do is enrage my piles to the point I can't sit down without wincing Sad

DH has been brandishing a pineapple at me all day, think I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good nights sleep Smile

40+4

PhieEl06 · 02/07/2013 22:16

Congratulations China, although you didn't get the birth you wanted I'm glad it was a positive experience for you overall!

Icing you are trying everything possible & I'm very jealous of your energy! Got to admit though I am beginning to get very impatient now. Have you tried pineapple & tmi but dtd?

Hehe have to admit dinky she is amazing! Smile

Ouch re the piles Sunday - does not sound good. Do you have any cream/witchazel to calm them down? I know I've said this before, but Valley Cushions (can hire from NCT and other places) are fab if you have bad stitches (or terrible piles) down below - may be worth looking into them if you fancy sitting and getting up again without an attack of tourettes each time. Loving the idea of your DH leaping out at you with a rogue pineapple through out the day Grin

OP posts:
IcingTheCake · 02/07/2013 22:32

Phie Dtd once but literally nothing not even a bh maybe he's not that good it's not for us Wink walks and RLT help most with me, didnt realise tinned pineapple didnt work and cant be bothered to get fresh now! Haha sorry for tmi but went to the toilet and bh/contractions are still coming Grin thought it was just tummy ache for a while but getting my hopes up now, though im sure theyll stop in a little while Hmm

PhieEl06 · 02/07/2013 22:41

Ahh dear icing, I've had an increase in BH today, hoping it means something, failing that OH will not know what has hit him over the next few days!

Tehehe at the rogue pineapple dinky, comical images in my head! Grin

Abzs · 02/07/2013 23:05

Joseph Robert delivered by forceps (back to back) at 1534 today. 25 hours from first water leak . 8lb 4oz 55cm long. No wonder he was bent double. I'm only 5'2" and 8st 4 normally when hill fit

PhieEl06 · 02/07/2013 23:16

Congratulations Abzs! I hope you & little Joseph are doing okay!

evelynj · 02/07/2013 23:22

Icing-exciting stuff hopefully!

Abzs-congrats, the boys are fighting back! And a big pat on your back, that's a great size :)

China, congrats to you-all the July mothers have such good taste in baby names-makes me happy!

Shelley, with feeding just take it one feed at a time, I had awful bother with DS & am really dreading breastfeeding as much as the birth this time but at the start any breast milk you can get into them helps, as long as you keep your sanity!

With that I'm off to read a bit more of 'the womanly art of breastfeeding'

Riveting stuff! I have reflexology booked on Friday so it's my next look forward to item!

Going to have to schedule small treats to get me through the next 13 days-this evening has dragged!

Sleep well ladies

Cheeseandbread · 03/07/2013 01:00

Wide awske...

Just went to the loo and had bloody snotty discharge... Is this what a 'show' is (sorry if TMI)? Also just had a poo and have the acid reflux feeling in mt throat... Might be from feeling nervous though...

Think

Cheeseandbread · 03/07/2013 01:00

Think

Cheeseandbread · 03/07/2013 01:02

Stupid phone posting before I'm ready...

Thinking of doing the washing up from last night now as if this is it I don't want a messy kitchen...

Advice appreciated- butterflies in my tummy...

37+3

TotallyEggFlipped · 03/07/2013 01:06

Congratulations, China & Abzs!

I hope this is the start of something, Icing....

shelley72 · 03/07/2013 01:12

Cheese, sounds like a 'show' to me. Yes do the washing machine up if it will bother you I think by the end of my cs the surgeon was fed up of me wittering on about the housework I hadn't yet finished! And being upright still help you anyway if labour is imminent. Good luck!

TotallyEggFlipped · 03/07/2013 01:13

Cheese, sounds like a show. Can you get back to sleep? Rest while you still can. Hopefully you'll be needing all your energy soon. Grin

Cheeseandbread · 03/07/2013 01:20

Thanks Shelly and Totally for coming back to me. I have been googling and can see that the show can happen hours, days or weeks before... So I guess I'll have to wait and see what category I fit in to... I've had some period type pains but I don't think I would call them contractions...

Shelly it's funny the things you worry about isn't it... I can imagine myself worrying about things that need doing...

shelley72 · 03/07/2013 01:25

And congrats abzs and China on your new arrivals.

Icing I read in an article (no doubt written by a man Grin) that the prostaglandins work best administered ahem orally. Though how anyone has the energy for all that at 40 weeks pregnant is beyond me!

Due date today. Was hoping to get out today for a coffee as it's daddy's birthday. Let's hope we can avoid a hospital admission. Been trying to feed at least two hourly - though I slept from 1030 til 1am - but she has had 7 poos today (well tues) so that's not going to help. She only lost an ounce between day 3 and 5 but as she is small anyway it makes a difference percentage wise.

Trying my best with the feeding and have been hand expressing anything left over for her and topping her up with that. As you know I was training to peer support so turning up to groups with a bottle probably not the best advert Hmm

Any developments cheese?

Cheeseandbread · 03/07/2013 02:01

Washing up has now been done Smile

I've had more bloody discharge but no contractions yet...

Congratulations to China and Abz on the arrival of your little ones!

Shelley I hope you manage to get out for a coffee later.

Your feeding and hand expressing sounds good.

Going to see if I can try and go back to sleep... Fingers crossed...

Icing any news from you?...

dinkystinky · 03/07/2013 03:34

Cheese - have a snack (piece of toast or something) and try to go to sleep. Sounds like things are starting to happen for you but now is the time to conserve energy.

Abzs - huge congratulations and welcome to the world Joseph! I'm 5 ft 4 and my babies have all been long too (I blame 6 ft 2 dh for this and many other things:-) ) so can relate to the huge folded up baby! Hope you and Joseph are home soon.

Shelley - it sounds like you're doing well with the feeding and top ups. All of this experience with dd2 will only serve to make you an even better more experienced peer supporter I'm sure x hope you feel up to going out for a coffee later.

Icing - hope all going well.

Currently lying here listening to the rain and gritting my teeth at the fact its messing up my beautifully scrubbed walls...

Silver15 · 03/07/2013 03:55

Congrats Abz and China.

Cheese that sounds promising.

Sorry no personals. Just in lying in bed watching BBC news channel hoping I will go back to sleep. DH seems to be fast asleep.

TotallyEggFlipped · 03/07/2013 05:28

shelley when DD1 (it feels odd having 'DD1 & DD2' now instead of just 'DD' & bump!) was born she was too sleepy to feed much and I was hand expressing, pumping etc for ages to eek out a few pathetic drops to syringe into her. She didn't have enough energy to feed well and my milk hadn't come in yet either. It really got me down as I was determined to BF & felt like a failure because I just couldn't seem to do something that I thought was meant to come naturally. We used formula top ups for a couple of days whilst we got BF established. Once she perked up a bit and my milk came in she became a complete boob-monster and we had no further problems (until I weaned her at almost 18 months & got mastitis) & exclusively BF from then until 6 months. You can get through this too, and if you can't, at least you'll know how hard you tried and that will only make you a better and more understanding peer supporter.

Cheeseandbread · 03/07/2013 05:28

Got checked out at hospital and they said I had my show and that the show can be quite watery. They sent me home saying it could take a couple of weeks yet.

Home now but getting regular pains that that've got stronger than period pains...

TotallyEggFlipped · 03/07/2013 05:29

Hope you got back to sleep, Silver

TotallyEggFlipped · 03/07/2013 05:30

How exciting, Cheese. Fingers crossed it's starting for you.....
