Hi everyone, hope you had good wkends, I'm looking forward to my holiday next Saturday (although won't be the usual sunbathing with wine flowing!), still can't wait just to relax especially as I'm feeling a bit rough and sick today! Work are piling on the pressure ahead of my hols but who cares, in one week I will be off for two weeks woop!

Just wondered when the really preggers people started to get lightning crotch/cervix pangs? So I can be prepared and not go into cervix panic!

OP posts:

Yay to wiggly movements! Definitely a highlight Grin mine are now big, deliberate pokes and rolls and nowhere near as fun as the elbows, knees and headbuts I got earlier on!

I had whooping cough jab at 34 weeks, just after 34-week check at GP. Was totally fine, had a sore arm for a couple of days, but fine other than that. Think it was mentioned by the midwife, but you have to book it yourself via GP, between 28 and 38 weeks.

Good luck with the UTI hunt... fingers crossed you'll feel better soon!

Frogcatcher · 03/07/2013 13:05

My dr once told me that lemon barley water very effective at relieving cystitis so you could try that. I was also told when I had a suspected one at booking in that there were safe antibiotics for UTI in pregnancy.

Still waiting for call from hospital that I was promised today. Anyone want to open the betting on whether I get it or not?

Ooh I can't wait to be able to look pg & feel movements. How exciting!

Cavort · 03/07/2013 13:27

Sorry for the reporting delay but I am still here and still very fucking pregnant. Sad The only difference is today I am a very grumpy pregnant lady!

I only had about 5 contractions in the whole day yesterday, but this changed to one approximately every 20 minutes as soon as I went to bed so haven't had much sleep. In addition to that, baby was going absolutely mental inside me between contractions so there was little opportunity for even a 20 minute snooze most of the night. I am currently contracting anywhere between 5-20ish minutes and they are more painful. DH has popped out but I am going to get him to put the TENS on when he gets back.

Went for another sweep this morning and I am still only 1-2cm but cervix is now fully effaced. Midwife has booked me in for induction next Wednesday but thinks it will happen naturally before then - OMG I hope so, I really can't do this for another week! She also advised to keep active AND rest so not quite sure how to do both at once? Maybe if I get DH to enter a race where you have to push your pregnant fat miserable wife on a bed?

BraveLilBear · 03/07/2013 14:56

Oh no Cavort, poor you Sad rant and grump away reserves right to do the same in 4 weeks time when similarly overdue

Good news that the contractions were doing something constructive and getting the cervix ready!

I bet having an eviction date will definitely get things going.

Give them til 3.30 then call them Frog - especially if you want the Nuchal fold measurement taken...

In my little world, the big bosses PA just popped in to ask if I wouldn't mind accepting the email invite to the afternoon tea party that they're holding in my honour on Friday afternoon! Very odd, but lovely.

MotherOfCleo · 03/07/2013 15:11

I would call them frog

You are allowed to be am much of a grumpy bitch as you like cavort!! I, like bear reserve the right to be just as grouchy.

I feel like shit today too although not in the same league as Cavort I am just so tired and keep feeling light headed. Plus I'm headachey and generally feel like crawling under a rock and sleeping for a while. Being awake from 4.30am the past 2 days doesn't help, seems to be my stock wake up time now...grrr. What on earth does the world need me for at 4.30am!!!!!! Also not looking forward to my OH being away friday - monday, looking after the dog single handed can be knackering and doing all the shopping, washing and tiding alone isn't appealing. The main thing worrying me though is that I have a wedding reception to go to friday night, pretty much straight from work and as he is away I have to go totally alone. loser loner My brother will be their, as will lots of other people I know, but turning up as a pregnant lump all on my tod isn't the most appealing. Plus I'm always knackered on a Friday and will have to rush home, walk dog, change, then drive 30/40 mins to the reception to hang out with lots of pissed people.....oh joy. On the plus side I do have a new dress to wear which doesn't make me look too horrendous.

JuicySausage · 03/07/2013 16:17

Hello, I've got my second beta hCG result: 2,571. My heartbeat scan is next Friday at 6+1 wks Grin

Thank you for your congratulations everyone. I can't believe you're 16 wks, mother! Anyone here in the very early weeks of pregnancy like moi? I may have to find an antenatal thread or summat, what do you think? I have to say I'd rather not be amongst accidental differs with two little darlings already in pre-school.

Feeling stupendously nauseous over here Grin

JuicySausage · 03/07/2013 16:20

Argh! I've got folks mixed up! Quod, you are 16 wks, no? What a thrill it was to see you on here. I'm not sure you remember me as Viv but we pm'd each other after your sad loss. What a treat you're preggo and well on your way to meeting your baby. May I ask how long it took you to conceive again?

Mother, did you say you're 22wks pregnant with your little lad? Champion!

Think I'll read back a little...

MotherOfCleo · 03/07/2013 16:23

Hi juicy, I'm actually 22 weeks.....eeek. Grin

The first 12 weeks goes sooooo slowly but after that it seems to have flown. Everything crossed for you! I'm on a November due date thread but lots of them have multiple kids already, doesn't seem quite the same.

Ohh nausea hey, another sign of a nice lot of hormones then Smile yay!!

MotherOfCleo · 03/07/2013 16:24

haha, cross post Juicy, yep you're spot on. Smile

HazleNutt · 03/07/2013 16:26

Honestly sometimes I think French are trying to live up to the stereotypes if inefficiency and bureaucracy.

  • first example. so doc comes by in the morning and says that I'm fine, but as baby wasn't gaining weight, I have to stay another day. A few hours later, the nurse comes to weigh the baby, baby has put on weight. I could go home, but as the doc didn't prepare the papers and stuff, sorry too late. So if someone had the bright idea to actually weigh the baby first and then decide if he is gaining weight, I would be home by now. This would make sense though, can't have that.. Hmm
  • second, here the hospital sends the birth registration documents to authorities. They forgot to give us a certain form to fill out, so instead of Myname DHname, the baby only was registered as DHname. We are still within the registration deadline (only 3 working days and you don't want to know what happens if you miss it) so you would think that fine, lets give them the paper and they can correct - but as the helpful french civil servant put it, computer says no. Can't change. even though they had also mis-spelled DHs middle name, and this they interestingly could change. Have to go through court now to get this mess fixed Angry

In other news, SleepyBaby has become a HungryBaby. I feel like I've been sitting here with my tits out since breakfast.

JuicySausage · 03/07/2013 16:27

Aw, Cavort, what a ruddy shame you're suffering through the night like that. I always think night-time is a killer for feeling time drag and tht isolation in the wee dark hours is horrid. I hope you get some respite (ie a birth!) soon.

JuicySausage · 03/07/2013 16:30

Hazle, I would be deploying my neatest karate moves on the nearest bellend Angry

HazleNutt · 03/07/2013 16:32

I put another photo up - aww, they grow so fast! Grin

HazleNutt · 03/07/2013 16:36

juicy I haven't congratulated you yet! So exciting, are you hoping it's twins?

And I agree, the first 12 weeks are massively slow, then until the next scan, just slow - and then suddenly a total blur and you find yourself overdue due.

BraveLilBear · 03/07/2013 16:36

Good news on the latest Beta Juicy

Crikey Hazle that's insane. On both fronts. They won't let you change your baby's name even though it is spelled wrong and has the wrong components and it's not even your fault? That's ridiculous.

I hope they're paying for the court costs.

At least HungryBaby is gaining weight and on the mend... fingers crossed for tomorrow, eh!

BraveLilBear · 03/07/2013 16:52

Cute pic Hazle! He really is growing fast!

MotherOfCleo · 03/07/2013 17:05

Oh wow hazel, he is so cute. He's grown already eeeek.

janey1234 · 03/07/2013 17:20

Awwww hazle he's bloody gorgeous
Smile

I too have a hungry baby now. He basically fed from 1am to 7am. And then most of the day. Blush Still I guess it shows we've managed to sort out latching on.

Cavort - hope things get going v v quickly for you. Must be so frustrating.

Juicy - good news on hormones. Not so great re ms but guess it comes with the territory Smile

Can I just say one more time how much I love going for a pee now I'm no longer preggers? It's a source of great joy at the moment! Wink

HazleNutt · 03/07/2013 17:28

I was just thinking that I love not having to go for a pee every bloody 5 minutes. I think I last went around lunchtime or so. Amazing. Grin

JuicySausage · 03/07/2013 18:15

Hazle! Baby is gorgeous! Janey! So is yours! Smile

Cavort · 03/07/2013 19:01

Yeah, yeah Janey, just rub it in why don't you! Grin

Hazle he is absolutely gorgeous! You must be one proud Mum? Bloody well done to your body for creating him with a minimal contribution from your DH. How frustrating about the name blunder. Angry

Great news on your levels Juicy. Grin Not so good news on the nausea, but I'm sure you don't mind it when you think about the cause. Smile

Did you get your phone call Frog?

I am now wired up to the TENS, which is surprisingly good in a way I can't describe but would recommend, especially one with a boost button. I know it will be as much use as a chocolate teapot in established labour probably like my DH, but for these days hours I am in pain at home it is doing a good job.

I have also figured out that if I lie down completely still the contractions slow right down to one every 30-50 minutes, so now I feel in a quandry over whether it's a good idea to slow them down or whether I should keep upright and keep them coming at 8-10 minutes in the hope that I get to established labour faster? Dr Google, as ever, seems to have mixed opinions on whether these early contractions are bringing labour closer or not. At least I have figured out how to hopefully get some sleep tonight, although I would much rather a baby turned up instead!

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/07/2013 20:12

Cavort every 8 to 10 sounds promising, shall I start getting excited?! Will be back before bed to keep my eye on progress, really hoping it all gets going and happens nice and quickly, easily and pain free!

Quodlibet · 03/07/2013 20:18

Hazle he is just so lush. Not surprised you want your name on that very fine bit of work.

Juicy that is fantastic news about your HCG. Of course I remember you. Yes, we had a fairly horrible time after the loss, ended up with depression/anxiety for a bit which was made worse by our bizarre decision to put an offer in on a repossessed flat 2 weeks after MC leading to immensely stressful fast purchase. I conceived again after 2 months, in March, barely trying and up to my armpits in plaster dust and wallpaper paste, and discovered I was pg much to my shock the day before we moved house! Ridiculous. Feeling much better about it all now though.

Cavort · 03/07/2013 20:37

I don't think there's any need to get excited yet Merk. Sad The last two have been 30 mins apart despite me keeping mobile and bouncing on the ball so they are still very erratic and unpredictable at the moment goddammit.

Quodlibet · 03/07/2013 21:15

Oh Cavort how frustrating and knackering Sad
