Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I can't decide whether this morning's nausea is real or if it because i know there are ginger biscuits downstairs Hmm it definately seems worse than yesterday mornings.
I hope we don't have another 10 weeks of nausea, I wasn't expecting that.

TripleRock · 21/06/2013 11:32

I agree with you Running , I think I'm also concerned that if I do get labelled GD it will give them something else to get over excited about around my due date and push my VBAC out of reach. Because I understand they like to induce early for GD and my induction options are already very restricted due to my previous section...

I might speak to my consultant, he seemed very sensible whereas MW is very 'by the book'.

Bottom line is, I won't do anything that could put the LO at risk

TripleRock · 21/06/2013 11:33

And thanks. Its great to have a sounding board Thanks

JammyTummy · 21/06/2013 11:44

Is anybody else's baby crushing their ribs? Mine started off with just the top triangle right between my ribs and only when I was lying down (on either side, which is good Hmm ) but now it's around the whole outer edge of my ribs and its constant! My MW recommended I take a Gaviscon for it- it's good to know she properly listened to what I was saying.
I'm having such a mare sleeping now too, because simply lying on my (either) side is no longer an option- cause of the ribs, but also because it makes my back ache within minutes, sleeping on my back kills my pelvis and makes me feel like I can't get enough breath. The only way I can get vaguely comfy is kind of on the side of my front?! All made that bit better by DH merrily snoring next to me...

Sorry about the rant but it feels like everyone in the world is sleeping soundly other than us preggers!

Readytosettle · 21/06/2013 14:38

Oops! Triple, my personal opinion is 'the more info the better'...I might be a bit naive here, but a blood test doesn't have a negative impact & can only give you more information to base your decisions on. Surely you can still refuse any treatment/early inducement later on down the line if u want to?

jammy that sounds horrid...r u small framed? I get alot of rib pain, but i now think it might be worse when i spend the day sitting upright/walking because things are more cramped up. I try to spend as much time lying down as poss (working from bed in the morn, watching tv in bed in the eve) and that seems to relieve it. Failing that the hospital physio told us we should 'embrace the sleepless nights as it's ur body getting you prepared for a newborn baby'....not much consolation!

EmmaDee · 21/06/2013 16:42

Hi all, sorry to hear about the sleepless nights, I suppose that's something else to look forward to!!!

I eventually bit the bullet and got measured for a bra, ugh they seem to have totally ballooned. The nice lady in marksy's said I was measuring 40", considering I used to be 34 this came as a shock!! But she said 38 would do, crazy!!!! Is everyone else ballooning to these proportions?

Readytosettle · 21/06/2013 17:19

Emma I've got a hot milk bra & it has about 10 clip notches on the back so u don't have to keep up-sizing...tho it was a bit embarrassing when I was at the chiropractor the other day, he went to do up my bra & got all confused 'err I'll just go for somewhere in the middle shall I?!' Blush

Kittenkatzen · 21/06/2013 18:07

OK OK I'll start carrying my notes around, jeezzz WinkGrin

triple what are your reasons for not wanting the test done? Personally I would think it's better to know and make decisions armed with that knowledge than to spend the next 3 months wondering and worrying.

fl0b0t · 21/06/2013 18:23

Jammy I've also got uncomfy ribs on one side :(

I am not carrying my notes (justification is that I currently carry 8 plus kg of bag/laptop/ etc around with me every day and have no more space in my bag, plus I walk and cycle a lot carrying that bag so don't fancy any more weight! As there's nothing groundbreaking in my notes, I'm not going to stress it until later in the third trimester!

Boobs are taking over. I was a D cup pre preg, then a C-cup when I lost weight... I've not been back in yet but I'm bulging over the sides of everything (take a look here if you dare of me with me niece and the "girls" making an appearance: fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/1013428_10152918251855510_1801148599_n.jpg)

SGJ · 21/06/2013 18:30

Yes, Waggy - I specifically got my HR dept to check - once you hit statutory mat pay, the childcare vouchers can't be taken out of that, but you're still entitled to them, so basically your employer has to pay for them, hooray!

MrsMangoBiscuit · 21/06/2013 18:31

fl0, that makes me feel a bit better about my exploding bra incident. Grin

I also am not carrying my notes, mainly because I'll have to find them first. Blush

Readytosettle · 21/06/2013 19:01

The salary sacrifice thing also works with pension contributions....so ur employer has to keep paying their x% even when u stop contributing.

CharlW1 · 21/06/2013 19:18

Triple having been diagnosed with GD I would have the test as it can't hurt. I am really struggling to get blood sugar under control and the only way I can do it is to eat very little - which caused me to feel faint and exhausted - the likelihood Is I'll have to go on medication to sort it out but if you can control it by diet then it won't change your birth options and it's unlikely they will induce early.

feeling very jealous of all the talk on lardy cake - we used to have it on a Sunday when we were little Smile

juniper9 · 21/06/2013 20:53

Jammy I'm having lots of pain under my right rib cage. I can't sit for more than about 10 minutes, which isn't usually an issue in my job (30 kids running around...) but have been report writing this week and it's made it very hard work. I googled it and it seems fairly normal. But painful!

I have to have the gtt in a few weeks' time. They booked me in for 7:30am! Argh! I am not a morning person... And I'm not good with blood.

Peabody25 · 21/06/2013 20:53

Just need a bit of reassurance! had an ECG recently after having palpitations before I was pregnant, and forgetting to get it done before! Came up with a slight abnormality and referred to cardiology outpatients! Hadn't heard anything in over a week, chased yesterday and apparently it was marked as urgent, but hospital book in according to severity and could be 6-8 weeks! Anyone else had this where it's marked as urgent but doesn't seem to be urgent according to hospital?

Could it be an abnormality because I'm pregnant?

Keepsmilingsunshine · 21/06/2013 21:40

Hi Pea no experience but if unsure I would contact the hospital for a chat about it and to hopefully put your mind at rest. Hope all goes well.

I am officially huge, I need to stop eating everything I see! 28 weeks today and starting to feel quite heavy and uncomfortable. Had 2 hours of regular braxton hicks yesterday. Didn't have a single one with DS so a new experience.

Just wondering when you are all starting to get stuff ready? With this being no.2 we have most things but all in need of a good sort out and clean as they have been in the loft. We don't have much space so don't want to 'too early' but then don't want to leave it to late either.

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 21/06/2013 21:52

Bloody hell, listen to this I just read in my pregnancy book... "by 30 weeks, the placenta will weigh about 450g which is a massive increase compared to the 170g it weighed at 20 weeks. Every minute, it receives about 500ml of blood from your circulation."

Keepsmiling I am not at all sure when to seriously get things ready... We have been steadily collecting things in our bedroom but there is so much to do. This week we got a Moses basket from a charity shop and had a talk about pushchairs or at least a chassis that fits the car seat we already have. Have no bedding and only an initial couple of days of clothing for baby. Someone on the Facebook group posted a hospital bag list though which I am totally going to steal!!!

frogchops · 21/06/2013 22:44

Oh.... So we can get Braxton hicks anytime now then? What can i expect them to feel like? I think I'm more anxious of them than labour!!

juniper9 · 21/06/2013 23:23

peabody what did they say the abnormality was? My heart is beating much faster and so it has extra beats and skips some, but the cardiologist said that was a normal side effect of a faster rhythm. What's your blood pressure like? And pulse?

Readytosettle · 22/06/2013 04:31

Oh dear, made the mistake of eating chips for dinner at 9.30pm. It's now 4.30 & I'm in indigestion hell :-(

jennimoo · 22/06/2013 06:51

One of the most frustrating pregnancy things has to be waking on the early hours due to either indigestion or hunger :( hope you got back to sleep, ready.

Readytosettle · 22/06/2013 07:26

Nope, still on the sofa....about to run out of the stock of trash tv shows that I'd been collecting all week...

jennimoo · 22/06/2013 07:28

You need to find more to tape then! I hope you manage an afternoon nap :)

TripleRock · 22/06/2013 08:28

Thanks everyone, I think I'll be getting my gtt booked.

I guess my main bug bear is I think it's unnecessary, but if I'm right it will come back negative, so nothing to fear there. If it comes back positive better to know than risk it.

Don't honestly know why it's become such a big deal in my head... But feel better now, thanks :)
