Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

So interesting to see we've all had a change in movement at the same time. Since getting home from the hospital I've had one kick HmmIt was such an active little thing previously, this change has been very noticeable. Hoping it goes back to being regular soon. The midwife was fab but kept saying "all we need is 10 kicks from when you wake up, until you go to bed" I very calmly kept the same reply "I understand, I've had 2 kicks in that period, that's why I'm here" having a quieter day today and will take some time out to focus on bump, to see if I can feel anything.

Kittenkatzen · 11/06/2013 09:29

Hugs for you kamikazee, as the others have said you're in the best place - have the docs said anything to you yet?

KamikazeeKid · 11/06/2013 09:39

No :-(

Its Dr changeover time so taking forever. Have no idea other than a load of possibilities. ....

Hope bubby and bump r ok

kipsonline · 11/06/2013 10:03

Oh kami, sending positive thoughts , let's hope they see you and suss it out v v soon. Are you on a heartbeat monitor? Hopefully just placenta moving (my friend had this...) keep us posted!

kipsonline · 11/06/2013 10:07

I'm another one with a super active baby who went v quiet for a few days last week. Just had 29 wk growth scan and he was wriggling all over the place so can only assume it was a change of position. V reassuring to know there are lots of us experiencing this. The mw did say the movements get less frequent as the bubs run out of space too, so that's a consideration...

Had a quick 3D version at end of scan and saw the baby opening and closing eyes and mouth :) amazing. Has def helped with the whole 'bonding with a 3rd boy' issue. Just a shame DH couldn't be with me to see it too...

RunningBear78 · 11/06/2013 10:08

Kami thinking of you, hope everything is ok and keep us posted Flowers

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 11/06/2013 10:17

Kami, hope you get seen soon and that it is reassuring. In the best place, as others have said. xx

RunningBear78 · 11/06/2013 10:44

Someone posted earlier about ante-natal anxiety/depression recently, but can't find the post? Could you pm me?

LCR77 · 11/06/2013 10:45

Phew that was a lot to catch up on - been in Italy for a week and a lot has happened it seems. Had a fantastic time although lots of walking around so feet swelled to elephant sized proportions!! Think baby enjoyed being on holiday as she has finally started to move a little or maybe it was all the pizza, pasta and ice cream! Not much movement but a few little kicks and stirrings can now be felt. Don't know if placenta is moving or just that she's getting bigger.

Leg cramps disappeared on holiday (maybe it was the walking) but are back now and PGP started too. Can cope with cramps but PGP can bugger off!

Splendid idea for the FB group, have joined and will post bump picture soon.

kamikaze I really really hope everything is ok for you. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed. Know how terrifying it can be. Had a bleed at 17 wks and they couldn't determine where it was coming from so kept me in hospital for observation and had another U/S to be sure. Just know as others have said you are in the best place, it really could be anything and most times they can't explain it. Sending positive thoughts that you and baby are both ok Flowers

jennimoo · 11/06/2013 10:45

Thinking of you kamikazee. Sure all will be fine but must be scary :(

Mooster1709 · 11/06/2013 11:00

Oh Kamikazee, poor you. I hope they see you soon and everything is ok.

Don't know if this is any help, but I had bleeding about a month ago (around 24 weeks). Obviously was terrified, but turned out it was just my cervix (cervical ectropion), and the doctor seemed to be not at all concerned about this. Pretty normal apparently (esp if it gets bashed if DTD, although mine just started bleeding for no apparent reason). Fingers crossed for oyu.

Mooster1709 · 11/06/2013 11:05

And yes purple on the downward kicking. I had this last weekend and it's a horrible sensation, like they're actually trying to kick their way out, and are having some sucess. Seems to have turned around now, thank God.

Thanks for the nose strip advice Girraferama, will invest in some of these today. Maybe then I'll be allowed back into bed Smile. And I know the h&m trousers you're talking about - they're exactly what I was looking for, but never in my size in the shop, and sold out online in most sizes too. arrrrrrrrgggh.

It's DH's birthday today so am off to Birmingham for a massive curry tonight. Very excited.

ooh, and a question: when do you all think it's likely to be ok to leave the baby (with my parents for eg) for an evening? I want to get DH tickets for the Texas tour, and all going well the baby will be about 10 weeks old. Is that too soon (am planning to breastfeed, with a few bottles if needed)?

Eeeknumber3 · 11/06/2013 11:15

Blinking heck kamikazee I'm sending you virtual cuddles. Surely they'll see you soon and advise? Have you lost much blood? My friend had the same thing, earlier than this and they managed to stabilise her. Poor you, sending good vibes x

EmmaDee · 11/06/2013 11:57

Kamikazee just wanted to wish you the best, you are definately in the right the place. I hope they get it sorted. Flowers

MrsMangoBiscuit · 11/06/2013 14:16

Quick post as I'm at work. Kami, I had bleeding and lots of pain at 32 weeks with DD1. I'd gone into early labour and we never found out why, but it stopped by itself, and DD went on to be nearly 2weeks late and over 9lb. waiting to hear what was going on was so scary, but we were both fine. It could well be nothing, and you're in the best place. will be thinking of you with my fingers crossed. (hugs)

Joskar · 11/06/2013 14:43

kamikazee thinking of you and keeping fingers crossed that all will be well. I'm sure the docs will sort it out. All the best. Flowers

Joskar · 11/06/2013 14:52

LCR77 as the resident PGP bore on this board: get thee to a physio ASAP. No joke. Catch it fast and it is treatable. Leave it and you can end up very bad indeed. In addition to the fem belt I've a stick to walk/hobble with because the first physio I saw told me "a bit of back pain" was normal. DH has to hoover, clean the bathroom and put my socks on for me because I am now almost completely immobile. Now numbers one and two of that list I thought I would welcome but it turns out he only hoovers the middles of rooms and (I'm convinced) merely sprays the bathroom cleaner in the air so it smells like he's done it. My point being for your own mental and physical health get some proper physio pronto!

LCR77 · 11/06/2013 15:45

Thanks Joskar I will get investigating. Did you get referred to a physio through your midwife or did you go to your GP?

Joskar · 11/06/2013 16:24

Both. The GP referred me to the physio service who were pretty rubbish and didn't know what it was really and told me I'd just have to put up with it. The midwife was horrified when she saw me a couple of weeks later and she got me an appointment with the consultant obstetrician who got me an appointment with a specialist physio. He was able to diagnose me properly and I'm waiting for treatment next week that should make life a bit easier. I have flat feet which is exacerbating the problem quite dramatically and there's nothing to be done until that gets sorted. I am off work though (not least because I can no longer drive and I can't even be a passenger in a car for longer than 10-20 mins) and not moving too much really, really helps.

If the physio you see says there's nothing to be done then make a fuss and insist on seeing someone experienced. There is stuff they can/should do early on like exercises and massage

Also these websites are invaluable:

Good luck!

LCR77 · 11/06/2013 16:40

that's brilliant thanks. Got my 28wk appt next week so I'll discuss it with midwife and see if they can get wheels in motion for a referral. Getting an appt with GP is nigh on impossible and usually end up seeing nurse practitioner. The pain is fairly sporadic at the moment but when it hits it's awful, last yoga class was excruciating.

CharlW1 · 11/06/2013 17:33

Lots of hugs being sent your way Kami if you have a low lying placenta then hopefully it is just moving up. Yesterday my Placenta had moved so it was no longer covering my cervix but it is still classed as low lying - I was told to not be surprised to have a bleed if it moves again. Hope everything is alright and you have now seen a doctor.

I have my second NCT class tonight - hopefully it will be as good as last week! will report back later.

TripleRock · 11/06/2013 18:19

Just sending my best wishes to Kamikazee

MeanMrsMustard · 11/06/2013 18:41

I'm also just popping on to give a big virtual hug and very real support to Kami. Can only imagine the worry you're going through. Thinking of you xx

Girraferama · 11/06/2013 18:46

Best wishes kami I know how frightening it is and I hope the hospital are looking after you x

Girraferama · 11/06/2013 18:48

Oh by the way, I didn't end up phoning the midwife because baby finally started wriggling, for most of the morning this time! Still not strong kicks like before but feel more reassured for now!
