had a long post written on my phone and it disappeared
cheekbyjowl - dc1 was a vb and dc2 was an ELCS as she was footliong breech so this time i was offered the choice of either a VBAC or ELCS. i said i would decide at a later date (ie this week) as both my DCs were breech, except DC1 did manage to turn late in pregnancy, at the moment however, this baby is also breech and so if it remains so the decision will be made for me effectively as 1. they wont allow a breech VBAC (nor would i want to attempt it after the damage my VB caused) and 2. they wont attempt to turn using ECV because of the risk of rupture from the previous ELCS. an ELCS wouldnt be my ideal way of giving birth but its the one situation i have very little control over
.
you still have lots of time though for your baby to turn. i tried lots with DC2 but to no avail though she dd have one leg fully extended and wedged in my pelvis. i used positioning - all fours, being upside down, moxibustion and as a last resort ECV. you really need to research and find out success rates of your consultant and hospital before deciding for yourself. it didnt work for me, and was far more painful than labour/birth and the subsequent CS. but thats just me, it has worked for some and had horrible oucomes for others. but do bear in mind that you take in all of your stuff in case you need an EMCS - which is rare.
sundaysunshine i love your DDs name its the only name i have on my girls list at the moment.
waves to photographer have you been to look around the hospital yet? wondered what the PN ward is like now its moved? might get to look after my scan and appointment on friday.
