Very early days but I'm due 26 January - really expecting early February after being 15 days late with DC1. Thought I'd get the ball rolling Grin

Anyone else?

Eek, I have just felt a little buzzing! I know it?s probably just gas, but humour me ? I was twisted round a bit and leaned over my desk for a pen and literally felt a tiny vibration inside me and it really made me jump! I?ve never felt anything like it before.

Any chance at all it?s the bean? I believe I?m 8 weeks tomorrow....

ThirdTimesABrokenFanjo · 24/06/2013 16:07

8 weeks the fetus is the size of kidney bean. I know some people think they feel it from very early on, but I think it's just womb stuf in general.

littlestgirlguide · 24/06/2013 16:09

8 weeks would be very very early to feel movement. Is this your first baby tiny? Don't want to rain on your parade, but it's not likely to be the baby. I felt movement for the first time with my first baby at 16 weeks, and it was the tiniest feeling imaginable. Apparantly you can feel it a bit earlier in subsequent pregnancies, but even so....
My symptoms are back today! Probably provin itself I be tiredness linked - been for a country walk an round a ruined castle today so pretty tired now, and suddenly queasy again and achey boobs as well!

tinypolkadot · 24/06/2013 16:15

Yeah, it?s my first, I guess I know it can?t be the bean, but it brightened my afternoon for a few minutes thinking that it might be Smile

I?ll just keep counting down the weeks!

My symptoms are at bay for the time being, but I expect them to come at me just as we?re getting dinner ready this evening. I walked into the staff canteen at lunch and had to make a swift exit, I don?t know what they were cooking but it STANK!

ThirdTimesABrokenFanjo · 24/06/2013 16:20

I felt twinges since pretty much conception with all my pregnancies. If it makes you feel better- even though i probably isn't the baby it is your body changing.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 24/06/2013 16:32

Today I had a reminder of one of the upsides of pregnancy. You can feel justified in eating a big greasy sausage and egg McMuffin if that's what takes your fancy, so I did exactly that today. I hope I don't start craving them, or I'll be the size of a house by February! Told my mum on the phone just now. She's excited for me, and promised not to tell anyone til I announce it.

Thingymajigs · 24/06/2013 17:12

I had my scan today and we saw a little heartbeat. She dated me at 7+1 which was only two days less than I thought. She said everything looked good but I might have bleeding due to a hematoma (large blood blister) and I have a few small cysts so naturally I have googled this and am now terrified.
I have decided to stop lifting things and running around until the 12 week scan. Also banning sex. What a boring few weeks this will be. But we have a baby. Smile With a very strong heartbeat. Smile

EeyoreIsh · 24/06/2013 17:14

congrats thingy, it's so lovely to see the heartbeat isn't it!

I've also put DH on a sex ban. He in turn put me on a no heavy lifting ban. I tend to forget that when he's not looking! The sex ban is tough though Sad we almost gave in but we found the miscarriage last time and bleeding this time so upsetting that we both freaked out a little!

I hope everything continues ok for you.

louloubellamozzarella · 24/06/2013 17:14

I am already feeling the pain of not being able to tell anyone - how are we going to key quiet for another 7-8 weeks?! Shock

I have a docs appt on Weds where I hope I can get the ball rolling with booking in etc... (Whatever has to be done - don't have a clue!) it's early but I needed an appointment to discuss the results of my second infertility bloods so I'm going to have to tell the Doc there's been a different outcome!

As we've found out early, I think we're going to pay for a viability scan at 8 weeks to give us the reassurance that all is ok. They seem to be around £80 around here -- anyone know if that's reasonable? I'm just way too impatient to wait another month; bad I know.

Exercise- wise, has anyone changed what they're doing? I've recently got back into spinning and body pump at the gym and run too ... Really don't want to give it up completely but not sure what's safe, ESP in the first tri. I'll ask the doctor, but wondered what others were doing??

shopart123 · 24/06/2013 17:26

Ok TMI sorry but has anyone had bleeding after sex? Im8 weeks and this happened yesterday and im so worried something is wrong :( this is all sooo worrying!

Thingymajigs · 24/06/2013 17:46

Thanks eeyoreish. You too. I just told DP about the ban and he looked quite sad. I realised that he thought I had imposed a ban for the entire pregnancy. There's no way I could manage that! Hopefully these worrying weeks fly by for us.
loulou, my scan was only £50 at a small local place but I know most places charge upwards of £80 which is out of our price range.
As for exercise I hadn't planned on changing a thing until I saw the hematoma and now I just want to stay still for 4 weeks which just isn't in my nature normally. I will be cancelling one of my more physically demanding volunteer jobs tomorrow to minimize the risk too.
shopart I think old brown blood is ok but red blood with cramping should be investigated. I think a small amount of bleeding is considered normal but obviously still very worrying. When do you see your midwife?
Hello and congrats to everyone who has just joined us. Smile

barebranches · 24/06/2013 17:49

hey all
is anyone else a teacher?? when are u telling your heads?

shopart123 · 24/06/2013 17:57

It was more pink that soon went brown, no pain or cramps whatsoever. So not sure. I have another 2 weeks until midwife. No bleeding today tho was yesterday everything seems back to norm today

Somanychanges · 24/06/2013 18:01

Why are some refraining from sex?

I have had scans with both mine about 7/8 weeks as was in hospital with HG and they wanted to check dates, make sure all was ok and check for twins :-) so I am not used to waiting until the 12 week scan. Personally, I think that's too long to wait. I obviously don't want to be in hospital again with HG but I wouldn't mind the early scan to be reassured and have a photo of my bean to match my other 2 early scans.

But I won't be paying for an early scan so will just wait. I should of told the doctor I had no idea of my dates then they send you for a dating scan, oh well. I have loads going on before now and 12 weeks so will just have to keep busy.

Also I am moving when I wil be 10weeks so I am wondering is it just best to keep the appointment at the London Hospital for 12 week scan? Or do they fit you in at your new hospital quickly or make you wait ages because there is a huge waiting time?

The Doctor said she has no idea how it will work with the move and was most unhelpful. So I just asked her to book me in here and I will sort it out once I have had my booking appointment. Has anyone else moved far during the first trimester between booking and scan?

EeyoreIsh · 24/06/2013 18:09

somanychanges we're not having sex as I've had several weeks of bleeding so advised not to. I had the same bleeding last time and miscarried so I'm being cautious.

Once we've had our 12 week scan, assuming all is ok and no more bleeding, then normal bedroom activities will resume Grin

Somanychanges · 24/06/2013 18:11

Cherry oats
I know how you feel, I keep thinking, why am I not sick? I mean I don't want to be, but yet I do to feel normal. I have been having light period type cramps now and then but I had that last time just thought it was normal.

Sugar mice
We are moving to the Bookham area I think I have worked out Epsom will be the most convenient as DH will have the car and there is a bus to the hospital. However, I don't remember Epsom being a very nice place (correct me if I'm wrong have not been in ages) and so I am feeling a bit put off at the thought of having baby there.

Middy75 · 24/06/2013 18:17

shopart I had a bit of bleeding the day my period was due and again last night at 5+5, sex is now off the agenda for a while. I'm thinking its probably just my cervix being a bit delicate!
I've not been on a good night out for ages and now today have been invited on a hen night this Saturday, Argh! Had to make excuses, even though I'm at work Sunday I don't want all the questions about not drinking. Plus I feel so bloated at the minute I don't think I'd find anything nice that I'd feel comfy in Sad

shopart123 · 24/06/2013 18:28

Yeah Middy I think its just my cervix being delicate too. Esp when wasnt red and heavy.

I have a hen night coming up also and really not feeling upto it because its a 3.5 hr train journey and all day/night session! Hate making up excuses and this one is 4 days before my 12 week scan argh

EeyoreIsh · 24/06/2013 18:35

middy, shopart I had a hen do on Saturday. I felt really sick so it was a bit of a challenge but I'm a bridesmaid so had to go! I gave up at 9pm as I was just too ill.

I didn't enjoy it up to that point though! No one really noticed I wasn't drinking, other than one other non drinker.

ch1134 · 24/06/2013 18:39

I am a teacher, due 1st Feb. Planning to tell them when I go back in Sept and I'll be about 18 weeks then I think. Don't want them to change my timetable for next year if they find out before, plus wouldn't want them to know before 12 weeks anyway.

rueyrichardson · 24/06/2013 18:45

Somanychanges, we have just moved to Bookham too. I have my GP appt tomorrow so I will let you know what hospitals are on offer. I think it will be Epsom, but I am going to see if Kingston is an option since this is where we had DS. Also, we moved between booking and scans with my last pregnancy. It was tricky to get the hospitals changed over so I stayed at my original location until after the 12 week scan and then moved hospitals (to Kingston).

barebranches · 24/06/2013 18:51

yes my thinking too ch1 i really dont want her to change my class last minute.... was going to wait till timetables were fixed but i dont know!!

Do feel bad only being with my little ones for a term. Bet the parents will hate me!!

tinypolkadot · 24/06/2013 19:01

I did maternity cover in secondary a few years ago when they knew the teacher was pregnant before doing the timetable and they deliberately gave me all the worst classes. Year from hell!

sunflowered · 24/06/2013 19:11

Ruey and somany - I used to work at Epsom. It looked a bit of a dump from the outside but I always found the staff really professional and friendly. They also served amazing coffee and cake in the cafe Grin

A super organised friend was telling me yesterday about another friend's hen that she's planning. I couldn't tell her yet that I might not be able to go because all being well I'll be 40+2 that weekend!!
