Ouchy. My back hurts & my hips hurt & my pelvis hurts. I couldn't even lift one leg to get onto the bed. I had to sit on the edge & shuffle backwards. I'm achy & sore & tired & I want newborn snuggles! Hmph.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 15/05/2013 23:44

Not long jojo not long.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 16/05/2013 07:00

Morning. How is everyone feeling today?

jojo have you got a bit more movement and a bit less pain today? And what did I miss with you and lib and the freaky reborn dolls?

lib don't forget Vaseline for your lips and a flannel/face wash etc clearly I wasn't thinking straight when I packed

kitty
I hope that your bile results come back okay. Are you inching? thats a silly thing for me to ask as i didnt notice quite how much i was. it's lovely to meet baby, but it's scary to have doctors setting deadlines every 4 hours, and everyone panicking when you swoon.

bring there was 2 balls in my room, and I probably could have used them if I wanted too if I'd have been straight forward I probably would have. As before It was topped up, I had really good feeling and could walk around. So you are right that we should still be able to wander and move as we need to.

I am so loved up. Grin
I have completely changed my opinion of epidurals. When I had one with dd1 I couldn't feel anything, and went numb from my boobs to my toes. And hated it as I tore because I couldn't feel to push. And so couldn't move at all so had a bad back after.
I now know that that wasn't right. I had enough pain relief not to feel the pain, but enough feeling to know when I was having contractions. And as I didn't have anything else I wasn't away with the fairies.

bring is is normal to feel really really pleased with a birth. i know women really should be, but is it just my silly hormones?

kittykatsforever · 16/05/2013 07:46

Frus so glad everything well for you, your description is exactly how I describe my first birth which is why I loved my epidural, I felt totally myself as no other drugs to make you out of it head wise and it was uncomfortable when I had contractions to push but not painful, I still think of it as an almost enjoyable experience
I'm not worried about the results really frus what will be will be and I've always known the chances of me having it were high, I've had less itching this time then last but its still kept me up the past week or so at night, last time I had it from 28wks, this time it didn't start till 2weeks ago so results may not be bad?! I always wonder how much is psychological aswell as once you know obviously you itch more!
How you feeling Jojo are they just body pains do you think or like your body gearing up? Hope you managed to get comfy last night

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 16/05/2013 08:00

Morning kitty yy "enjoyable" probably is the right word. If they c

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 16/05/2013 08:02

Oops

.... If they could guarantee that every epidural was like that, then I think more women would have them.

Jojobump1986 · 16/05/2013 08:18

I don't want an epidural while in labour but I could really do with on right now! Full-on crone-hobbling going on! I'm moving at approximately a metre a minute. It just hurts. I'd love to think that it was doing something but it's just painful & I feel less like it's imminent than I have done for weeks! Sad No idea how I'm going to get through the next 2 days with a toddler. Can't wait for the weekend when DH will be around & I can avoid unnecessary movement. I think my concept of 'necessary movement' might be a little skewed at the moment though given that I avoided going to the toilet until the last minute! Blush

Oh dear, DS has just woken up. I don't wanna go lift him out of his cot or bend to do a nappy!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 16/05/2013 08:40

Oh jojo that sounds hellish. guess today is the day ds goes nappy free-range Wink

Alternate hot and cold compresses, and keep moving as much as you can. I know it won't be nice or comfortable, but should begin to feel a bit better after you've been up and mobile and moving about for a while.

Is there anyone who can help with ds?

Lorelei353 · 16/05/2013 09:03

frus I'm loving your updates. So happy for you and so glad that you're doing so well and are so loved up. Your epidural experience sounds great too. I'm hoping not to have one as I don't want it to be like your last one was. If only we could guarantee it would be like this one!

Jojo sounds like you're having a tough time. Hope you get a chance to rest.

Day 2 of maternity leave is bringing a massage, some hospital bag packing, and sorting some stuff out in the house.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 16/05/2013 09:20

lore I wonder if it had anything to do with the very dishy and young anesthetist that did it?

Lorelei353 · 16/05/2013 09:26

Ah that must be it. Now how do I order one of those at my hospital. Grin

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 16/05/2013 09:30

I don't know, but even the m/w was impressed that I'd got him.

Also try the emergency cord, that brings a whole room full of dishy doctors too. Grin

bringonthetrumpets · 16/05/2013 14:00

Frus I wish that every woman could say that she had a fantastic birth experience! I'm so pleased for you!! As a birth worker, it is music to my ears that you are happy with how things went. :)

Jo ouch, ouch, ouch, I can so completely relate to your pain. Do you have any chiropractors in your area? Would you be up for acupuncture? These are the two things that seem to be keeping the pain at bay for me....but I realize you don't have a lot of free time if you've got your little one yourself today. I'm also wondering if you have a friend who could come and hang out and help lift the little guy, or your parents? Or even just taking him to the park so he can run the energy out and you can sit down for a bit?

Sounds like a lovely first couple of days of maternity leave Lor! Enjoy that massage, mama!

Hope your blood results come back as ok-Kitty!

bring it might have been because I was under consultant led care in the end. But even then the midwives I had were lovely, and explained everything that was going on, and very reassuring, and gave clear instructions as to what I needed to do. And the 3rd year trainee we had in as well for the birth was so calm and efficient, and will make a fantastic midwife.

Unfortunately DH is now a silver fox. Grin the events of yesterday have given him a lot of silver/grey hairs that he didnt have before. Bless.

bringonthetrumpets · 16/05/2013 20:20

Haha about your DH. He'll be growing plenty more when that little lad starts running around and jumping off the furniture Wink. Boys are crazy little creatures.

Quiet day on the thread today!

Nothing too exciting to share....baby is still hanging out on the right side and at one point I think her foot was by her head this morning b/c I was getting kicked in very odd locations. Acupuncture tonight, which was really intense last time so I'm curious to see if it's better or worse than last week. She is stimulating labor-preparing points (all on my feet, yeeeouch) and places for the hips to make them stop hurting. It actually worked b/c I wasn't having any hip or back pain for the past week and then I was an idiot and decided to paint the final room on the list.... and I've done something to the poor ol'hips again and finally learned that I'm much too pregnant to keep painting the damn house even though I hate the shade the color I painted today turned out

I've just arranged for my parents to have DS on Tues night & we'd already arranged for my PILs to have him next weekend. I feel awful that I'm sending him away so much right before DS2 is born but I'm soooo looking forward to just 24 hours of not having to change a nappy or pick him up! Blush I think I'll probably stay in bed until DM lets me know they're on their way back! Bliss! I'll probably be completely lost & climbing the walls without him here!

bringonthetrumpets · 17/05/2013 14:34

Aww good news Jo! Enjoy your free time to pamper and nourish yourself!!

Hello ladies. how is everyone doing? Anyone having any twinges yet.

I'm back up maternity with the little one. He has the twitches that they're monitoring and trying to figure out the cause. But other than that we're doing good.

Jojobump1986 · 18/05/2013 17:27

Twitches? Confused What sorts of things are they considering Frus? Hope he's ok!

I'm not having any twinges, just lots of pelvic, back & hip pain! I'm feeling less like it's imminent than I was at 35 weeks! Hmm Having said that, I've read lots of stories about ladies who just thought they needed the toilet when the baby was crowning so now I'm paranoid every time I need a poo! Blush I always make sure I take my phone in with me, just incase...! I keep thinking I should have a clean towel in there too so I'm prepared if he makes a sudden appearance! Really don't feel like it's going to happen anytime soon though! Hmph.

Lorelei353 · 18/05/2013 17:35

Sorry to hear that Frus. Hope he's doing ok.

No twinges here yet either although I do feel like my yoga this morning shifted baby further down. Feeling more pressure now but still not ready to go yet.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 18/05/2013 21:12

He just has rather severe shakes at times. They've monitored his feeding, and blood sugars, and waiting blood test results.

jojo you can't have him in the toilet. Grin if your bathroom is the same size as mine it wouldn't be possible.

bringonthetrumpets · 18/05/2013 22:24

No, no twinges. Feeling very nimble unfortunately and have been gardening. The kids are driving me crazy (hoping that's a labor sign?).

Oh no, Frus Hope little guy is ok. Now I'm trying to wrack my brain as to what twitching could mean. I hope you're not on Dr. Google, scary things on there regarding neonatal twitching

OP posts:
FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 18/05/2013 23:04

bring I don't have enough battery left for dr google. And hadn't considered it until you mentioned it. but I won't, as my dds jittered too

Odd thing bring is that I thought I could feel him jittering before he was born. Confused

kittykatsforever · 19/05/2013 02:25

Think I may be in labour..... Eeep
Started getting pains about 8 ish very far apart not sure if baby was just pushing down etc as felt very low all day getting them every 15 mins ish now, all very low under bump, hoping I'm not wrong as ill be embarrassed but totally different then first time as my waters broke first so it was obvious they were as apposed to this time

bringonthetrumpets · 19/05/2013 04:38

Oh my gosh!! EEk! Exciting!!

You'll totally know if they just keep coming and are getting longer, stronger and closer together.
