Haha I've been a bit of an eBay junkie too Honey buying any nice/unusual maternity clothes I see. I don't even need them yet - or know what size I'll need when I do! Good haul though lol

harverina · 14/04/2013 20:59

Saundy if your only just squeezing into your bras you should get measured and buy a couple of new bras. I'd buy cheapies though as your size might change again - although once I got new bras around week 14 last time they fitted me until I went into nursing bras toward the end. I only went into nursing bras as they were so comfy and everything else was so uncomfy that I though what the hell!

Biggest tip re bras...don't waste money on maternity bras without the nursing clips if you are planning on Breastfeeding. Waste of money and if Breastfeeding you will end up having to buy nursing bras Grin

God feeling really sick again. Only managed potatoes and gravy for dinner. I wonder if I should try and eat??? Before eating was my way of getting rid of this constant nausea now nothing bloody helps grrrrrr Confused

Sorry to hear that people are struggling a bit today with their emotions. Worried I understand why you are worried but in terms of likely positive outcomes you are in a really positive situation after having a scan. Of course there are no guarantees that anyone will be ok and the first 12 weeks are so fragile but please try to relax. Easier said than done i know but try not to think the worse.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 14/04/2013 21:23

suffolk good question about the risk assessment. When are work meant to do one for a pregnant woman. I haven't had one yet.

hav good advice re maternity bras with clips.

harverina · 14/04/2013 21:34

Whenshewas my boss did it as soon as I told him I was pregnant last time I think. Tbh I found it a waste if time although it shouldn't be. My boss just didn't fully appreciate the impact my pregnancy should have had upon my job.

Fairydogmother · 14/04/2013 21:35

I think my work do a risk assessment when you produce the MATB1 form

BoyMeetsWorld · 14/04/2013 21:35

Good luck going back to work Suffolk. Me too....& I'm going to have to tell the girl I share an office with as she's my only hope of trying to keep this quiet until 12 weeks. Really feeling its going to be a huge challenge being vaguely productive.

Harv - if you're anything like me, even when just the thought / smell of food makes you gag, I'm finding if I can somehow force a tiny bit of ANYTHING down (especially high fibre stuff like bran flakes) it makes me feel worse for about 10 mins but then much better. Temporarily. I also know I keep banging on about Windeze but they are saving my life - I think lots of the pains & nausea must be digestion related (though prob as a result of hormone changes)

Night all & let's hope tomorrow treats us all well xx

Good luck tmr Suffolk I hope it goes well. It is so hard to get back into it & be productive after time out Boy - well was for me anyway.

So Harv is it best to get normal ones now & maternity ones later?

honey86 · 14/04/2013 21:55

fx you feel better soon harv... im still nauseous on n off but not as bad as long as i have eaten. its worse when im hungry or tired.
today ive eaten: mcdonalds brekkie, coffee, pot of cashews, pot noodle, 4 cheesestrings, a fairy cake, a big arse korma coconut rice and peshwari naan aand an apple pie with ice cream Blush
thatll be why im getting fat haha my bad.

problem with ebay is such beaut stuff at low prices. tooo tempting x

Saundy probably as maternity bras really don't look as good as underwired - but don't buy normal maternity if you plan to bf, just buy nursing bras. Maternity bras def don't give the same uplift Wink but so so comfy!! I didn't wear them till after 30 weeks and ended up not wearing them after giving birth as has to hit nursing bras so a waste of money Shock

louby86 · 14/04/2013 22:04

Marking place and off to catch up after being in London for the weekend Smile

Ariel21 · 14/04/2013 22:11

Saundy thanks for the advice - I think that's what I will do, seeing as I've waited 3 weeks for an appointment, and I don't feel any other 'suspicious' symptoms as yet. Hard not to worry though. Hopefully it will be gone tomorrow. (Crosses fingers)

I have bought a top and some mamas and papas skinnies from EBay this week, as my jeans are soo uncomfy!

JBrd · 14/04/2013 23:30

Gosh, an new thread again already?!? I can't keep up!

Marking my place - however, I don't know for how much longer. The spotting has turned into bleeding, which has gradually increased over the last few days. Very bad cramping and back pain today, and I'm also starting to see bright red blood.
This is exactly like it went with my mc, I don't have much hope anymore Sad
Will call the EPU tomorrow and see what they say...

honey86 · 14/04/2013 23:42

oh JBrd Sad sorry to hear that... got my fingers crossed that it turns out ok though. take it easy Thanks

Finally caught up Smile

Going to bed feeling really sick for the first time, starting to get really down about it too as it just feels like its going the same way as last time. Considering ringing in sick tomorrow, so bad of me but I just know I'm going to be hugging the loo from 6am/getting ready/getting DS ready/sorting dog all at the same time because DH has an early start too.

Also getting a bit nervous about having two under two! Someone please tell me it will be ok!

Sorry for moaning Hmm

honey86 · 14/04/2013 23:58

i had 2 under 2 at one point. 21 months between dc1 + 2, and 18 months between dc2 + 3. id say going from 2-3 was worse than 1-2. my first two grew up to be such good friends xx

Thanks honey, that's reassuring to know Smile

JBrd - keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you x

Wibblypiglikesbananas · 15/04/2013 02:23

Hi all, another thread, wow! Glad to hear so many of us are doing well.

To everyone worrying about spotting, I had it throughout my last pg and all was well. It gets easier when you can feel the baby moving and know everything's ok.

I am in the US and it has really warmed up this week, was 32 degrees on Weds, which I found quite tricky! Goodness knows how I'll cope later in the summer when it's hotter and I'm bigger!

Speaking of which, I look pregnant now. Definite bump there but still in normal clothes (mainly cos my mat clothes are in the UK and not visiting until next month, when I can collect them).

Looking forward to my 12 week scan on Weds - does anyone else have a scan then?

Upthread names were mentioned. I would second not telling anyone your choices, particularly family! We had a tricky time with DFIL, who apparently hated his grandmother and she'd had the name we were initially going to give DD. DH knew nothing of this and thought it would be nice. The name was also my great grandmother's so had family links both sides. Anyway, FIL made such a song and dance about it that in the end, I felt like the name was tainted somehow and we picked another one. Definitely best to introduce the name with the baby!

We have lots of girly names that we like but not so many for boys so far. Was the same last time round actually and we got a DD so all worked out ok!

Buying stuff - good choice with the Maxi Cosi Pebble, loved it for DD. We have lots already but I'm less into everything being perfect this time round and a lot keener to beg/borrow. I can't believe how precious I was about everything last time round! 'Twas fun though!

MissTweed · 15/04/2013 05:16

Why why why did I search '12 week scan' on MN? Iv been awake since 4 fretting about my scan today (8:35) and so far just about every thread on MN about them is horrible news. I know that people with bad experiences are more likely to reply to a post so the stats will looked skewed but I can't stop panicking!! I'm finding myself really jealous of those of you that have already had early scans or heard a heart beat on a Doppler. I'm now even questioning whether I even saw the second line on the pregnancy strip all those weeks ago! I know I'm sounding hormonal and mental but this rant if helping Smile

stuffthenonsense · 15/04/2013 06:48

Miss tweed stay positive, do you have any real reason to doubt or is it just MN induced panic? (Been there had to leave MN for months)
Jbrd hope it's not bad news. You do hear stories of babies surviving despite copious bleeding. Tell your little one to hold on tight.

Can anyone else feel their fundus? And if so how high from the top of your pubic bone. Mine is about 12cm at 11+3, I know it's supposed to be roughly 1cm per week but I don't know from what point in pregnancy....obviously at very early days it doesn't protrude at all.
