Morning everyone, hope we're all feeling good today! I got a lovely lie-in with coffee, flapjack and a little vase of violets brought to me in bed by Mr Feather, great start to the day Smile

I've also discovered that chasing a toddler round the floor on your hands and knees is a great way to bring on the nausea, but hey ho, it was worth it to make him giggle.

MildredH · 21/04/2013 10:53

Hi all,

Welcome & congrats to newbies.

Quiet- sorry you had a hospital stay Hmm but hope the anti sickness is working?

I've also secured breakfast in bed for the second time this weekend. Almost worth feeling so naff for!

Time is going so slowly.. Only 7 & half weeks.. Roll on trimester two and the promised glow!

Have a nice Sunday x

yogafan · 21/04/2013 10:57

I did the morning shift (up at 6 with DD) but DP has now taken her out so I can drink ovaltine on the sofa and nap. A vase of violets would make my day!

FluffyDucky · 21/04/2013 12:17

I've only just got dressed (no motivation or energy today) & rather depressingly my 'fat' trousers are fitting slightly better at the moment...
Boobs are getting on my nerves, I like to get comfy/fall asleep on my tummy, my boobs keep getting in the way our are sore! Guess its a sign of the next 7 and a bit months to come!

featherbag · 21/04/2013 12:39

I spent a blissful half hour this morning lying on my front, savouring and storing it moment by comfortable moment for when I can't lie on my front at all and can't get comfortable in any position anyway! It was only 18 months ago, I can still remember the agony!

yogafan · 21/04/2013 12:58

At 6 1/2 weeks pregnant I've progressed to OVER the bump maternity leggings!! I've been savouring lying on my back, my tum, just generally slobbing around. Still knackered. DP has gone out to get mars ice cream and coke. I'm going to be huge...

Misspositivity · 21/04/2013 12:59

Well folks I am off the bus.

Good luck to you all for your little bundles in december. Xx

Gooseysgirl · 21/04/2013 13:10

PistachioTruffle · 21/04/2013 13:29

I'm so sorry MissP Sad

FluffyDucky · 21/04/2013 13:52

MissP I hope you are as well as you can be, look after yourself xx

I have just eaten my lunch in record time, soo hungry today! A nice mixed grill with mushrooms and french bread. Mmmm pudding next!

yogafan · 21/04/2013 14:04

Oh missp, I am so so sorry. Big hugs. Hope your DP is around to look after you and that you can take as many pj days as you need. Look after yourself, and maybe have some extra snuggly time watching tv with your DD. x

kyz1981 · 21/04/2013 14:38

Missp so sorry to hear that. Look after yourself and take it easy.
There's been too many new additions to thread so I can't say hi to everyone, but good to have you and hope you're all doing well.
quiet sorry to hear about your hospital stay, but glad it wasn't long and exciting to see the scan!
feather am v jealous of your flowers! Might have to drop some hints to MrMusic.

Someone asked me if I was pregnant yesterday (total stranger, again v rude) I said yes but not v far along- size of the bump more due to my love of doughnuts than developing embryo- but then looking last night I do look different... Surely too early? (5 +3)
On a lighter note, my boobs have started to get bigger, problem is, they were unequal before and now they're larger I think this is even more obvious!! Blush I was looking forward to finally getting some cleavage, but not if its wonky! lol. Only a daft thing, obviously main concern is healthy pregnancy, but couldn't help feeling a bit cheated!

Going to cancel GP appointment next week and just wait to see midwife at 7 weeks as my anxiety has got a bit better and I don't want to take up an appointment if there's not much he can say/do.
Mildred I know what you mean about the weeks going slowly!

Michellephant · 21/04/2013 15:39

Hi everyone :)

My name is Michelle, I'm 24 and I'm due 21st December with a rainbow baby. My first baby Poppy was found to have a severe heart defect at the 20 week scan and soon after was diagnosed with down's syndrome so we ended the pregnancy and she was born asleep at 22 weeks on 31st October 2012.

Like Clare I'm trying to not get too excited because I know how painful it is to lose a baby but I'm optimistic that this will be a healthy baby. The odds are 1 in 100 apparently though which doesn't sound particularly amazing. We're having the Harmony Test at the end of May at the Fetal Medicine Centre in London.

Michellephant · 21/04/2013 15:42

p.s. that makes me 5+1 today. I think this pregnancy is going to feel like it is lasting forever because I've been TTC pretty much since losing Poppy and I had an early BFP on 10th April (AF wasn't due until 3 days after).

Michellephant · 21/04/2013 15:47

another p.s. I have an early reassurance scan with the NHS on 3rd May. I should be 6+6 then. I know my dates quite accurately because I used dual hormone ovulation tests by Clearblue in one of their trials. Still doing pee samples until CD60!!!

yogafan · 21/04/2013 16:23

Welcome Michelle, sounds like you have been through quite a rollercoaster of a time starting your family. So sorry to hear about Poppy, and really hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy with this little one. Hopefully you'll have lots of scans etc to give you reassurance on the way. X

Michellephant · 21/04/2013 16:41

Thanks yogafan. I'm new to mumsnet so you are the first ladies that I've spoken to :) speaking to other people who have been through the same is helpful but it can also make you worry so that's why I decided that I should probably just speak to people on a general Due in December board :)

inkymomma · 21/04/2013 16:57

Nausea has finally hit today along with another headache :-( no vomiting though which I suppose is good
missp sorry to hear your news. Hope your hubby looks after you.
Hello to everyone else

FluffyDucky · 21/04/2013 17:13

Hi michelle, I'm sorry if this is a daft question, but what is a rainbow baby? Blush Hmm

PistachioTruffle · 21/04/2013 17:17

Inky, same here, nausea has just hit in the last day or two, I've spent most of the weekend hibernating in bed! I haven't actually been sick though, and I'm grateful to have more symptoms starting, it's reassuring that hopefully things are going right in there!

Welcome Michelle, I'm so sorry to hear about Your little one, I hope everything goes well in this pregnancy xx

Michellephant · 21/04/2013 17:19

A rainbow baby is a baby conceived/born after an angel baby (a baby that has been lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons... any kind of loss). That's not a silly question :p I didn't know until I lost Poppy what one was.

The idea is that the "rainbow" is the calm after the storm i.e. the loss. Rainbows are also symbols of hope :)

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 21/04/2013 17:36

Hi Michelle and Kerfuffle

I appear to have gone off chocolate. This is shock news for DH as I have a big chocolate problem. After Mc one of the promises I made with god (as you do when you are desperate) was that if I got pg again, I would give up chocolate while pg.
Looks like he is calling me on it Grin - if I can keep off the brown stuff for the next 9 months I might not get quite to whale like

birdbrain17 · 21/04/2013 17:43

Hi all, hope you don't mind me popping in. I'm sitting on my sofa cuddling my 5 day old day baby and saw your thread in the active list. Just wanted to say as you all start off on this exciting journey of pregnancy (that I just finished) that every ache, pain, vomiting session, craving and hormonal swing is totally worth it, and it will come to an end even though 9 months seems like forever, good luck make the most of it, before you realise you'll be holding your precious little bundles!
Hope everything goes smoothly for you all Smile and try to enjoy it! xx
